Fantastic experience: I found Captain Dental before it was officially Captain Dental back in 2016! I was experiencing a horrible toothache and Dr. Yao & her team fixed me right up! At the time my insurance Plan wasn't accepted at this office but they worked with me so that I could afford the exam and procedure needed. After experiencing Dr. Yao's gentle touch I officially became a patient and swiftly switch my insurance provider to one that her office took. I haven't looked back since!

Negative experience: I needed a tooth removal of my back molar. It's out and healed up well but during this procedure not only was I able to feel what was happening in my mouth, the dentist got mad because she stuck a needle in my nerve and I twitched. Something I couldn't help. What did we say about moving? Nobody said anything either way what are we in the 1800s."Hold her jaw." You had me crying on the table and didn't even care. I've never had so much pain or a problem with a dentist before. Never again.

Fantastic experience: Karen was super nice and welcoming, did my scanning/imaging quick and easy without feeling careless! Dr. Tori was also super great and made sure that I was comfortable during the whole process. They were also very honest and upfront about what would happen, the pricing, and what they expected from me as a patient. Would definitely recommend this place. The front desk also made the check in and check out super easy. The communication with the office is also easy via text or phone :p

Negative experience: I don’t know how this dental place got so many positive reviews (super suspicious right? all 5-star reviews), but I definitely want to share some real experience. I was told to do some tooth fillings two years ago. In the last procedure, they cut to the inside of my mouth by accident and the pain persisted for more than a week, at an intensity much worse than when I took out my impacted wisdom tooth via surgical operations. Then, after 1 year 4 month, I went for tooth cleaning and the dentist adjusted one of the tooth filling. 3 weeks after, it fell out of my mouth (super creepy). When I got there again, they didn’t even do xray in that area and just filled it. I can clearly tell its shape is shorter than the previous tooth. The funny thing is, 2 months later, the filling fell out AGAIN! So I went there one more time, and the doctor carved out a bit more of my original tooth and filled it again. Now, after the numbing is gone, it’s extremely uncomfortable to chew any concrete things (chicken meat for example) and I can feel the sensitivity when chewing. I wholeheartedly DO NOT recommend this place or its dentists unless you’re going for super easy services such as tooth cleaning or willing to risk your dental health.

Aldo, the hygienist, did an excellent job with my teeth cleaning—he was thorough, gentle, and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. He took the time to explain everything and gave me helpful tips for maintaining my dental health. The office was clean, and the staff was friendly and professional. Fantastic experience: I came to get a deep dental cleaning with a nervous heart, thinking it would be extremely painful. However, after the assistant applied the first anesthetic and Dr. Li injected a second type of anesthetic, I felt nothing at all. During the deep cleaning, Dr. Li cleaned my teeth while simultaneously observing my facial expressions, occasionally asking how I was feeling. The entire process lasted one hour, with a 10-minute break in the middle. The front desk staff were very professional in addressing my insurance questions. After going home, I can easily communicate with them via text message or email for timely problem-solving. Their service is truly thoughtful and attentive.

Fantastic experience: I came here to get my teeth cleaning and wellness exam. During the visit, the reception, hygienist, the Doctor were all very nice and made me feel comfortable. It was then discussed for me to replace my very old crown. Doctor Li is wonderful, patient, and meticulous. She made sure the crown’s pigment matches as closely as possible with the rest of my teeth. You can ask for a better provider who actually cares about all of you, not just your teeth.

Positive experience: I only state my experience. I did 2 times Root canal treatment with the specialist Dr. Radhika Tandon in April. Then in end of June My teeth feel pain and I did follow up check with Dr Tandon again. She checked and told me looks good. Teeth is under recovery now. give me medicine and I ate one week. When I ate medicine it feel better . but now the teeth pain again, I will have 3 weeks international trip after 4 days. I don't know what to do right now and feel really sad!!! I can not eat food now. I think my root canal treatment is failed. How can I do treatment in 4days before the trip? Who can help me？？？

The front desk staff are also very friendly, and you can make appointments over the phone in English, Chinese, or Spanish. They always send text messages to confirm appointment details, and after each visit, the dentist follows up with a text to check on your post-visit condition. One of the best aspects of Captain Dental is their insurance team. They always confirm your insurance coverage before your appointment, letting you know how much your insurance will cover and how much you will need to pay out of pocket. This transparency ensures there are no surprising bills, which I have unfortunately encountered at other dental clinics, leading to lengthy and exhausting disputes. Overall, my experience with Captain Dental has been excellent so far, and I highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: It’s a wonderful place that I don’t want too much people to know!!!! I’ve seem them for couple visits. I got bad teeth problem, and I really hate to see dentist. But this place is amazing, all the doctor are very nice and professional. They don’t judge and only solve problem! Check in/out and make appointment with the front desk it’s always easy and comfortable, they check the names and asking me to fill out the forms that I need to before I seem the doctor. After that the assistant called my name and lead me to a room, it was clean room and with a sink inside the room! The old place I went to they only have a small one that’s on the chair (old fashion?). I have Dr. Yao to do the extraction of my wisdom teeth It was smooth and doesn’t feel the pain at all, I was surprise by that, cause I heard lots of my friends they are surfing after that in other place. I have seem Dr. Li for my crowns, takes a long time to wait for but the result is pretty good. I have seem Dr. Yang for my Invisalign. Instead of old metal material, this is my savior, I was able to smile and take pictures! Hopefully the Santa Clara location opens up soon which is closer to my home!!

I had my fillings and wisdom teeth extraction here. Dr.Yao is really professional and did a great job on my extraction. It was painless and I healed very well after the procedure. Dr. Yao’s skill is comparable with the specialist, but at a much affordable price. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable long term dental office!!!

Negative experience: First, the dentists are very well trained and make the cleaning and extraction experience as painless as possible. The reasons I'm giving 2 star are: 1. They gave $20 credits to people who give 5 star reviews and made calls to customers who gave negative review and asked them to change the review. I don't like this experience and feel like they are distorting the rating system. 2. They don't trust their customer. a/ Every time, you need to prepaid half of money for next-time visit which I never experienced in other dentists. b/ They repeatedly give calls to customers as long as they are 1-2 minutes late than the appointment time. This is very annoying especially you are parking. However, they are fine letting customers wait outside for a few more minutes. On my first time visit, they let me wait for more than 30 minutes and every time when I arrived, I'll have to wait for a few more minutes to get treatment. I would be totally okay for waiting the extra minutes if they could treat me the same way. c/ The owner shared the conversation with patients or customers in his personal social account and made mock of them. d/ There is 48-hour cancellation policy, and if you disagreed with the policy when making the penalty, you will be put on a "black" list which deactivate your profile without your notice. These are the reason I am giving 2 star and will never go back to this dentist store again. I love the dentists there but I don't like the way the owner is running the business and treat their customers.

Fantastic experience: Captain Dental is an amazing place. I took my dad there for treatment of decayed tooth. Thank goodness we were able to make the same day appointment. Dr Yang was really nice and took good care of it, save my dad immediate treatment to save him from several tooth pain. And she was very patient and explained every detail we need to know. It was a pretty nice experience. So I’m giving it a five-start recommendation.

Fantastic experience: Great experience and service! Scheduling appointment and checkin process are smooth, with active text reminders and communication. It’s located in a relatively quiet district and parking is fairly easy. I’ve done a normal checkup, two deep cleaning sessions and one Invisalign consultation and am quite satisfied with all the sessions. Dr Wong is very careful and considerate, and the sedation made the entire process easy and nearly unpainful. Definitely recommend this place for your next visit.
