Fantastic experience: I had a problem with my lower dentures from your store in Ypsilanti and the Dr that did my original dentures was out on leave until at least July some time. They had pulled the 3 teeth I had on my lower gumes. I needed my teeth sooner than that. The lady at the front desk called your site to see if I can get into you. She set me up with you today. You made me a new plate and said they would be done in 3 weeks. Your dentist and staff gave me amazing service and I don't have to pay anything. Thank you so much. Rosemary Evans

Fantastic experience: Ive had a great experience with this office, they always get me in quickly and Ive had a wonderful experience every visit every time Ive come in for a visit. The doctor is kind, friendly and very gentle. Perfect bed side manor. The staff is excellent. Everyone is competent and friendly. They've went above and beyond to help me with insurance issues, and went out of their way to help me cover expenses that other offices would not have done. They have state of the art equipment such as the high tech scanners they used to make my partial dentures, instead of having to shove those huge trays of that awful gooey substance in my mouth for ten minutes that many out of touch dentists still use to make molds of your teeth. I love my perfect new smile, I nolonger have to cover my mouth when I laugh and I can smile big without being worried about my teeth showing. I would recommend this practice to anyone looking for excellent dental care. Its a hidden gem that Im grateful to have found.

Fantastic experience: When I went to Great Expressions Dental Ann Arbor , The receptionist was very upbeat and while sitting in the chair to get waited on , I had my ex rays dune quickly . The dentist put a topical treatment on my teeth before doing a deep clean . I d recommend this to anyone that doesn’t want to experience any pain . The dentist was informative about methods of checking your teeth and mouth for any kinds of abnormalities . It went smooth, fast and would recommend .

And I have never said that about a Dentist before. They are professional, friendly, and understanding of where you're coming from as far as dentists go.

Negative experience: She was running behind. She cleaned my teeth for 10 minutes and forgot to polish them and realized when I got home thinking Man she didn’t even polish my teeth.

Fantastic experience: I love coming here. I drive a little over an hour and a half 1 way just to see this dentist, and the other staff are amazing as well. The dentist always makes sure I am comfortable. I use to be really afraid to go to the dentist after previous experiences elsewhere, but I don't feel that way coming here. 5 stars all the way. I will always recommend Dr. Vu. They are also very fast at getting you in if you are having issues or in pain.

Fantastic experience: Ms. Becky and Dr. Vu are a dream team! I hadn't been to the dentist in over 10 years when I went to see them. They were incredibly accommodating and non-judgmental. They've done everything in their power to make me comfortable through my dental anxiety. I've also brought my kids (5 years old and both have minor sensory issues) and they did so well! Ms. Becky is so patient and makes the process FUN for the kids. She's a gift.

Negative experience: I have been a patient at this Great Expressions location for several years. At nearly every bi-annual appointment, something has occurred that has given me pause. On two appointments over the course of one year, the dentist wasn't at the office when I showed up for my appointment. I was not called or notified in any way that the dentist was unable to come into work prior to me coming into my appointment. At one of these visits, I had x-rays completed which revealed a potential cavity, as described by non-clinical staff members. Since there was no dentist on-site, a few staff huddled around the x-ray and shared with me that the dentist would give me a call. The dentist never called me - at my next visit 6 month later, I brought up the x-ray to the dentist who said the concern that staff noted was not actually a cavity or concern at all. Today, the dentist called me by the wrong name (it turned out to be the name of the patient in the "room" next to me) and had the wrong patient's chart pulled up in my room. As another reviewer mentioned, there is very little privacy between patients in the rooms - no curtain or room divider in place. The final concern from today that really prompted me to write this review is that the hygenist did not change gloves in-between touching my mouth, the computer keyboard/mouse, and other items in the room. She also did not change her gloves after touching the items and putting her hands back into my mouth. This was highly disturbing for me and I will not be returning to this practice. Overall, this practice is highly unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough great things about this place . I was having tooth pain that was going into my jaw into my ears and extended down into my neck. The pain became unbearable so I called off work and they got me an appt within a half hour. I have always been terrified of the dentist even as an adult and was having so much anxiety but Dr Zahraa Beydoun and her assistant made the entire process a breeze. She explained everything very clearly and kept checking on me during my root canal to make sure I was doing ok. This is the only dentist I will go to moving forward . I’m so happy to have found such an amazing place . The entire staff was amazing!

Fantastic experience: I came here for immediate dentures and a partial the office staff and dentist Dr Vu we're very helpful and understanding for the whole process and procedure I had to go to another office for my extractions wish I had 14 teeth pulled in the same day. My Great expressions office in Ann arbor assisted and help me along the way. For my lower partial there was a tooth that was not supposed to have been included in a partial that was made and I was moving out of Michigan so the instructed me to find a dentist in the state in which I now reside. 4 weeks later they called me to ask me for my new address they had it remade for me not even having to do so. I couldn't have shows a better office to go through for my care.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Great Expressions for being the GREATEST!!! I had an emergency, called the office around 6pm. right before close, and with great care and amazing sympathy, I was accommodated to see doctor Vu the very next day!!! He explained everything, answered all my questions, and with patience proposed several solutions to address my problem! The front desk staff provided estimates, and made my appointment to see the specialist. Everything I needed was done for me with the nice smile, and again, with great care! and attention to the details!!! Thank you!

Negative experience: Went for a standard cleaning. Had multiple costs associated with the cleaning that I didn't have from other offices. No complaints with the quality of the cleaning but felt the billing was abnormally high and unexpected.

Fantastic experience: I simply could not believe the comfort I experienced in having three fillings implanted. It was fabulous. Me dental hygienist was her usual fabulous self.

Positive experience: The people working here are so sweet, personable, and professional. I like that they showed me the itemized bill of all the services I was getting at the start of my appointment. However, I did notice that the workspace (where I sat for my actual cleaning) was dirty.

Fantastic experience: So I have a loose bridge and originally went to the Brighton GE. The dentist there couldn’t help me with that and while I was there I also needed to come up with a plan to address all the damage so I’m getting a partial denture and couldn’t do the normal impressions so I ended up in Ann Arbor GE because they offer a way less invasive way to measure your mouth. It’s done with a camera and what a blessing this camera and the dentist Dr. Vu and his staff are super nice and I felt heard and taken care of. I also found out that this office charges 134.00 for my temporary and Brighton was charging me 600.00 for the same thing. ??? So it’s a Blessing all the way around

Fantastic experience: Very attentive and responsive to questions during the visit. They are happy to numb you more if you need it.

Negative experience: LOVED Dr. Lee, but he recently left to start another practice. Dr. Vu was not great — rushed and sloppy. Went in to have a crown that fell out reinstalled and he installed it high, didn't check the bite, and had me bite down on a pad and leave. After I got home I removed the pad and the tooth was so high that it was the first to contact even if I tried biting down on the other side of my mouth. Went right back and was able to be seen, but again he was so rushed. He checked the bite and ground the crown down and asked me how it felt. We went back and forth like that 7 or 8 times and it was so obvious he wanted to be done each time. I've never felt more rushed by a dentist. Other dentists have the same workload, but are patient and careful. This was rushing, not efficiency. Dr. Vu is the only dentist at this practice. Would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: AWESOME ESTABLISHMENT!!!! Dr. Vu did a crown today and was awesome as usual. But the best part was the care I received from SARAH G. the hygienist/dental assistant. She truly is an asset to your establishment and should be recognized for her amazing work. So caring and attentive and just really makes you feel calm and comfortable. Have a bad back she repeatedly made sure I was comfortable at all times.This young lady just made the visit for me she’s TOP NOTCH!!!!

Negative experience: I wish I could give ZERO stars. Look, I know no one cares about my one bad review. But, here was my experience. The office feels a bit run down and uncomfortable. There is essentially ZERO privacy between patients. I heard the whole appointment between the dentist and the teenager next to me. I was supposed to be there for two root canal procedures, procedures that I was assured multiple times that would be done that day. I had all my x-rays forwarded and was still assured that I would be getting my procedures done. The hygenist was nice, a little quiet, but that never bothered me. She even talked to me about the procedure a bit and asked if I've ever had one before. After waiting for 45 minutes, I was finally seen by the dentist. He looked at my teeth, did some poking and prodding, then agreed that I needed the root canals. I was thinking that this was finally time to get them done, only to be met with disappointment. He talked with his hands and gestured a bit, making his points by tapping on my mouth, effectively hitting my two front teeth that were definitely in pain before the taps and even moreso after the double hit. I thought we were going to get on with the procedures, only to be told that I needed to go see a specialist instead and that they can do it there. He put in a referral to have me seen and the closest appointment was in December. At this point, it was the second week of November. I am internally fuming because this was a waste of a visit. But, it was made all the better by calling a few days later to the office in Livonia, where I was referred, and being informed that the referral wasn't for the treatment. It was just to be seen. If I wanted to get treated, I would have to be pushed out even further, into January, but I could get on a waitlist. So, that is what I did. For the record, the man that I talked to at this office was very pleasant. 10/10 Customer Service. I've cancelled my other appointment with this office. I would rather pay out my entire savings to go to a different dentist than come back here. I've requested to my HR team to change dental carries so we can avoid this office and learned that I was not the first to complain about this office to them this month. I've switched dental plans and will fortunately never return to this office again.

I needed a crown for one of my teeth, and Dr Carter Lee put a temporary crown on my very first visit after repairing and cleaning the mess my previous dentist left. My wife recently had 7 teeth pulled, and I watched, and the doctor he was so gentle with her that she hardly even knew that she was getting her teeth pulled, he made sure she was comfortable constantly. I was very impressed. They are like family to us. Love them to death.

Positive experience: TLDR: Lack of transparency, Long wait times I went in for just the services that are fully covered by my Insurance -- cleaning and exam. Those were the only services I asked for yet they snuck stuff into my bill that I had to ask to get removed. They didn't even explain the jargon on the bill so I can imagine someone unwary could easily have been tricked into paying way more than they intended. Even worse, months after my visit I got a bill asking me to pay $253.97 for the X-ray I had done. I thought the X-ray was part of the covered exam. Apparently it was just something every new patient was asked to do. But again, this was not explained to me. I was just given a list of services which I thought corresponded to the covered services I asked for on the phone and told to sign it. Luckily I was able to get the X-ray fee waived (which saved this from a 1-star review) but the lack of transparency is why I will not be returning to this clinic. As patients with no dental background we can only trust the clinic when they tell us what we need. Because of my experience, I don't feel I can trust this clinic. They also quoted me $4,995 for a 12-month Invisalign treatment which is 40% more than the $3,459 all-inclusive Invisalign treatment at James Olsen's clinic (which ended up being only a 4-month treatment). So it seems that this clinic has a practice of charging patients for more than what they need. And yes, you can expect long wait times (up to half an hour) even if you show up on time for your scheduled appointment.

Fantastic experience: I had a tooth suddenly start causing me great pain over the weekend. Monday they were able to get me in, identify the problem, and do the needed root canal and temporary crown right away. It all went smoothly. They did a great job. I'm very happy with how it worked out.

Negative experience: Upon arriving we were checked in promptly. 20 minutes after my wife's scheduled appointment she was called back. 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment I was called back. 50 minutes later my wife was done and they told me I was next. I opted out of getting my teeth cleaned after an hour of waiting. This is another case of medical offices NOT caring about patients time. A simple text or call letting the patient know that they are running 60 minutes behind would be nice. Then I can decide how I want to spend my time not let a dental office decide how I spend my time.

Negative experience: Dr. Fouad Khan performed three Dental crowns on me. After they were placed they were constantly sensitive. I complained about the sensitivity when I came back for my 6 month cleaning. He told me everything was fine and to wait a little longer. The sensitivity has never went away. Then one of the crowns fell off earlier this year. I went to a different Dentist because I moved. They found decay under the crown and I had to get a root canal and completely new crown. The crown was placed less then 5 years ago so Insurance did not cover any of it. I thought hey maybe this was a honest mistake. Called great expressions and they said there was nothing they could do for me because it's been over a year. Now another crown is acting up, can't chew on the left side of my mouth. Dr. Khan caused me a tremendous amount of pain and thousands of dollars.

Fantastic experience: It’s a great dentist office. Friendly , I have been going here now for 3 years. Great friendly stuff . Very clean.

Negative experience: GOOD: The actual service for my teeth is all great. They were able to get me an appointment quickly when I was in pain. BAD: BUT it has been two times that they said I only need to pay a small amount for the dental services so I paid and got the services. A few months later, the insurance came back and charged me over $600 the first time and $300 the second time. And they told me to pay these amount within a few months. BAD: Expect to have long wait hours becuz they could overbook. I waited almost 45mins-1hour previously even though I got there right on time.

Negative experience: I just went here as a new patient and initially was surprised how quickly they called you after you arrived, however this place seems to be overbooked. I went twice, once for a cleaning and another time for a filling. The first time I waited 30 minutes after my cleaning for the dentist to see me for 3 minutes even when I was told I was "next". I still went back the second time for a filling. This time I waited 30 mins after being called back for the dentist to numb me. Then another 25 minutes to check the initial numbing shot, which wasn't enough so I ended up getting two more shots, waiting long each time for the dentist to come back and check. I was told bottom molars are just "harder" to numb, but I've never had a problem like this before. Thus my appointment from the time I got called back to the time I left was a total 1 hour and 40 minutes for a 10-15 minute filling. Overall the staff was very friendly, but they should not over schedule if they do not have the time to see patients quickly.

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr. Lee for the last 2 years. I thought I was going to have to pull all of my teeth. Dr. Lee saved all but two of my teeth. I have had a nothing but great care from him. I can actually show my teeth now without being embarrassed.

Positive experience: There were some understandable issues (discovered sharp spots after the numbing wore off) but overall it was a good experience. Dr. Vu and dental assistant Jose were a really good team, both really knowledgeable and friendly. The office got me in quickly to file down the sharp spots, no charge (obviously, but still worth stating). The procedure took a lot longer than I thought it would, but I was perfectly relaxed the whole time.

Fantastic experience: Bougee experience for a reasonable price! The professionalism from start to finish is spectacular. The most knowledgeable staff and state of the art equipment used to ensure every part of your mouth is taken care of for the long term. Dr. Lee helped me with my facial pain along with my teeth and other chronic issues. In terms of everything I needed guys…I walked out of there paying $70 after insurance for an intense cleaning (I do floss and brush everyday but they got you if you fell behind!) For fillings, they have really good in house payment plans (no interest or credit check), and they take Care Credit. I say all this because this is such a great business full of smart, greater than capable people that really care about their patients. They won’t shame you at all. So get to the dentist. This one!

Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment. Cleaning and Xrays. I was impressed with how kind the staff from the front door to the dental assistant. I also loved how the staff showed kindness and respect for one another. This is a good sign of happy staff. Happy staff = great service. I met with Dr. Lee and I appreciated his honesty and insight.

I recently had a pretty serious dental issue and had to have an emergency root canal. They were able to get me in the same day and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. I have really bad anxiety about getting dental work done, even cleanings, so when I say I feel like I'm in good hands here I mean it. If you're looking for a new dentist I highly recommend you try this place out. Dr. Lee and Marley are the best!

Fantastic experience: My children (7 and 11) are patients here and we love it! My 7 year old just had a filling done and it was a breeze. Dr. Lee and hygiensts, Becky and Janine (in addition to their support staff), are not only skilled at their profession but also kind and put my kids at ease. Nothing but positive things to say.

Negative experience: I had an extremely disappointing experience at Great Expressions. My visit to the clinic was to get a crown for a tooth that had previously undergone root canal treatment. However, the dentist proceeded to grind the surface of the crown without seeking my consent, causing significant discomfort afterwards. The clinic then mishandled the ordering process for a replacement crown. I had to make multiple visits, only to be informed that the crown had not yet arrived. When the replacement crown was finally received, it was not properly flushed. Consequently, I had no option but to continue using the unsatisfactory initial crown, which was disappointing after all the wait and anticipation. After putting in the permanent crown, I reported experiencing persistent pain soon after the procedure, but my concerns were not taken seriously by the dental staff. I was advised to observe the pain, which was later proved to be a root tip infection. The clinic's negligence in addressing my pain promptly had serious consequences, and I had to endure significant discomfort for an extended period. Throughout this ordeal, I followed the clinic's recommended treatments that costed me a fortune. I endured pain for over a month, and their suggested remedies proved ineffective, only delaying the proper treatment I needed. Additionally, during a recommended tooth cleaning, the technician prescribed an expensive mouthwash, claiming it would alleviate the pain. However, I was not informed that the mouthwash could stain my teeth, and as a result, my teeth became discolored, and they were not able to get the stain out. Subsequently, I went to another general dentist. The previous permanent crown I received at this clinic was improperly done, and I was strongly advised to have it redone correctly to avoid further complications. I endured physical discomfort, financial burden, and delayed proper treatment due to their negligence and inefficiency. I would suggest others to be cautious when considering this clinic for dental care.
