Fantastic experience: Love this place! Dr. Ajala is incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, and always makes me feel at ease. I’ve struggled with dental anxiety for years, but switching to this office about two years ago completely changed my experience, the environment is so welcoming and everything is done efficiently without ever feeling rushed. I’ve had multiple procedures here (fillings, root canals, crowns, and now Invisalign), and the pricing has always been very fair! Huge shoutout to Kolya for being an Invisalign expert, always making sure I’m comfortable, and placing my attachments perfectly ❤️ Highly recommend Plano Smile Design!

Fantastic experience: You can tell that the staff enjoy their work. Amy was my dental hygienist today. It was my first dentist appointment in a long time and my first visit to Plano Smile Design. She was so knowledgeable and made sure I understood what was happening the whole way through. She was a total professional and was working on my teeth with the same care and precision as someone restoring a classic painting in the Louvre. She was also incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. Dr. Ajala was also incredibly warm and accessible. Danielle from billing was both helpful and patient with all my questions. Highly recommend to anyone looking for dental care. They quickly eased my anxiety and exceeded all expectations!!!

Fantastic experience: First time client and I have to say I am very pleased. They treated me with the respect and really do care about me. I've definitely found me a dentist that I can trust for myself and my family!!! Just went back for my first cleaning. Anna is best!! If you need your teeth cleaned all for her. She did an amazing job, she was very thorough and gentle at the same time. They are great at working with your schedule and making sure that your dental needs are met. Anna even helped me to pick out a water flosser after my teeth cleaning to help insure that my gums stay healthy. I really can't give this place high enough praise.

Negative experience: Very disappointing experience. I was there for a routine exam , was recommened a deep cleaning for very mild gingivitis ( couple spots rated 4 ) . I declined it as out of pocket cost was 279 dollars. I spent an hour with all the prelim stuff , xrays etc and waited while they checked on insurance coverage for the gingival cleaning. I was told I could not get a routine cleaning because they recommended a deep cleaning. I have been to a dentist all my life and have had these minimal findings in the past as well but was never recomended a gingival cleaning and never denied a regular cleaning. I am a physician and in my opinion , they could have done better. This does not reflect on the physician's skills or staff performance in any way. They were all very courteous , but I was denied a routine cleaning . I had taken the day off from work, I was overdue for my exam ( recent move to Texas) and it was a very disappointing overall.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of theirs since 2010. They have always went above and beyond for my family. They always have the best staff.

Negative experience: First and foremost I want to say the rating of two stars is not because of Dr. Ajala's work, nor his staff in the back. This review is solely based on the billing department and the front clerks. I have been dealing with a over charge going on a year. The billing department assured me the account was clear I owed nothing. Mind you this was after several months going back and forward. I called my insurance to learn she charged me twice for something that was already paid in full. Fast forward September I received a statement saying I owed $121.00. Took it to office clerk please get this tothe billing department, I am tired of the fan mail. Now on 11/18/25 I get a phone call from billing telling me due to me not having a cleaning they would not be able to move forward with my implant. I told her do not insult my intelligence, an x-ray to see if bone graph is healing have nothing to do with a cleaning, (which I cancelled because I will be taking my business else where) my implant is paid for in full and how dare you tell me such a lie. She works in billing department, she have no business calling my phone telling this lie. I told Dr. Ajala about this. He assured me he would take care of the matter. FYI please check with your insurance company to assure you are being billed correctly!

Fantastic experience: I’ve never truly had a good experience in a dental office. And Plano Smile Designs change that for me. Everyone from the dental assistant, to the hygienist, to the dentist himself were extremely nice and made sure I felt as comfortable as I could be. They were able to get me in on an emergency situation and took care of me same day. I would most definitely recommend them to friends and family!

Fantastic experience: I love Simile Design Dental! I accidentally showed up two days early for my appointment and was so embarrassed, but the staff went out of their way to fit me in the same day and made me feel completely comfortable. They’re always so nice, friendly, and flexible — from the front desk to the hygienists and doctors. My husband, daughter, and I have been coming here for years, and we couldn’t be happier!

Scheduling is easy and they are flexible when I need to reschedule. My hygienist, Ana, always talks through any concerns and provides me tips to avoid additional treatment and visits.

Negative experience: I would not recommend. They have constant recommendation for InvisAlign for every client despite I told my experience of seeing 100s of people from my family with healthy teeth though they have rarely visited dentist...I visited 5 times for crown treatment and after 3 months it was broken and my Implant of tooth also went bad and I had to visit multiple times losing my pay at work...these are only good for basic teeth services I would not recommend root canal or crown or any implants

Negative experience: This was my first time to have an appointment with Plano Smile Design. When I scheduled the appointment, I requested an emergency dental appointment and requested Dr. Joe Ajala as my dentist. When I arrived they checked me in I told the receptionist who my appointment was with and I waited. The dental hygienist cleaned my teeth after I had been there for an hour and half then I finally saw the dentist Dr, Sabrina Veerjee who I did not request. The dentist spent every bit of three minutes with me to inform me of my emergency procedure that could not be done that day as I had requested and that came with a high treatment plan. This place was very unprofessional in providing the best care to their patients that is the reason I specially requested Dr, Ajala. I will not be going back to them. I believe they did want they wanted to do which was the preventive maintenance so they could at least file this claim on my insurance. I will be filing a complaint with the board and my insurance company against this facility.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time at this practice and the staff I encountered were just lovely. The lady who checked me in and got my insurance taken care of was wonderful and kind. I had an assistant help me with my X Rays, she was very professional, gentle, personable, and overall great. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name, until my hygienist mentioned it again. It starts with a letter “M”. Great job young lady! Now, my dental hygienist, Daisi? That’s my girl! She was so sweet, personable, and professional. She explained everything in detail. She also gave me options for the entire process. She was very gentle, yet did such a great job. I hadn’t been for a cleaning in a while since I did move states and when I say, she took all my worries away! Great job young lady! You both are going to do such great things! The Doctor was also very great! He was gentle, informative, and professional. I would definitely recommend others to come here for cleaning and other treatments!

Negative experience: Appointment/ Responsiveness- 5/5 Crown experience - 1/5 Patient pain awareness -2/5 Pain scale - 200% After they installed the permanent crown it was nightmarish torture with pain for a week and finally had to get root canal done. Could have saved so much time and money if they understood and listened when I had pain with temporary crown for two weeks.

Negative experience: “I went there to have full dentures made with Dr. Joe Ajala. After 13 months, he asked me to take home dentures that were not functional. When I requested to fix the issues with the dentures, he started speaking loudly. I asked him why he was getting upset with me, and he yelled at me, saying to look at him when he’s talking and emphatically stating that he is not mad at me.”

Fantastic experience: So far, I’ve been to this location twice and my expectations were exceeded both times. The atmosphere is friendly, communication is open and the services are professional. My concerns are heard here and the knowledge that each person possesses is vast and informative. I’d recommend this to my family and friends any day. Also, special thanks to Shelby for my previous visit, she’s truly a gem along with the rest of team.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever for my wife and I. Temporary crown fell out 3 times- once she got the permanent crown in it never felt right. They gave us a lot of grief trying to shape it correctly after the fact - it takes a few days to be sure it’s right. They made you sign a paper agreeing it’s perfect before you left but your mouth is numb and it’s not that easy. Crown fell out 6 months later because there was a gap in the crown and now she needs a root canal because a cavity got into that gap. TERRIBLE DENTIST- stay far away from these butchers. They recommended 3 crowns for me too- went to another dentist and it was 2 cavities instead that only required fillings

Negative experience: They have changed in the last 2 months.Absolutely the worst customer service. The people I dealt with were incomparably stupid. Canceled all my appointments and went else where. I would advise you to do the same.

Negative experience: These people are not organized. THEY LIE TO GET MORE MONEY. They made a fake appointment for me a while back and I canceled saying "I didn't make an appointment I'm working that day" and left it be. TODAY they called me talking about my insurance. I opt out of their message text a long time ago. I asked why are they looking at my insurance I haven't seen them for over a year. (Or just about a year) She said I authorized an appointment for the 29th or something. I laugh and told her never to call agian for my dad died in January and I know for a fact I haven't made any sort of appointments for anything. For A I am sad and don't care to make a dental appointment and B I don't even have insurance at this moment. They lie to get more money. Do not trust them. Let them go out of business for all I care because they are not good.

Negative experience: ** Update 3/23** A month ago i provided this review and I saw owner responding on google saying that someone will contact me to discuss the review in detail. But nobody contacted me till today. This shows the level of professionalism *************************************************************** Scheduling was bad. They scheduled me for cleaning and filling together when I spoke over the phone with them. During the appointment they said I am scheduled for cleaning only. When I asked who is the person that scheduled with me, they said it could have been answering service and they were not aware. They were not willing to acknowledge they messed up the scheduling. Not professional.

Fantastic experience: Been going here for years and they are the best! I moved about 45 minutes away and I still make the trip every 6 months! Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I've had better experiences here in the past. They have changed protocols that have resulted in several declined services while I was a patient in the last 5 months. My advice is their are plenty of dentists nearby and a better customer experience can probably be had.
