Fantastic experience: We loved this place. Waiting time to go in was less than 10minutes, they kept my kids so calm while doing dental work. Dr Mohammed bedside manners was great. My kids said they were so nice to them and that is such a satisfaction to me. We will definitely keep this place as my kids dentist !

Negative experience: *UPDATE* i had written the review based on what i was being told by my husband at the time. As a mother, it made me feel upset for the way things were handled with my son. This was going to be his 2nd procedure. His first procedure was done differently. They may have taken their time and had patience with my son because it was done. My son went back a 2nd time and was left feeling drugged up without the procedure being done. I should’ve waited to write the review because as soon as the employee saw it, they went and confronted my husband about it. I don’t know how they are taught to handle negative reviews. But where I work, if a patient leaves feeling unsatisfied, then fix it for the next time. There is no need to ambush someone with the review that they DID NOT even write themselves!! And yes, I WILL NOT be taking my son back there. Very disappointed. I’ve been taking my son here since his very first dentist appointment. They were always so quick. Waiting time was very minimum and that’s what I liked about it. And after today, now I know why their wait time is short. Because behind closed doors they are quick with their patients. My son was supposed to have a procedure done and because they wanted to HURRY up, it caused my son to panic. He is only 4 yrs old! What’s wrong with taking your time!? Making sure the medicine kicks in correctly so that the procedure could be done! Because of this, my son didn’t let himself and we were told “Oh well, maybe come back in a year and see if the cavity didn’t get worse.” Are you kidding me!!!! I’m so disappointed!!!!

Fantastic experience: I have taken my children to other local dentistries due to changes in insurance. Before finding Growing Smiles, I had gone to another dentistry that didn’t explain treatment plans, wanted treatment to be completed 3-4 months from diagnosis, and clearly did not specialize with care for special needs children. As soon as I contacted Growing Smiles, they were very knowledgeable and checked insurance before the appointment. They have family rooms that can accommodate three patients at a time which is beneficial for families taking multiple children at the same time. They also do treatment on separate days for each patient in the family due to the specialized care they provide the child during their treatment day. They will not hold your child down if they are unable to do treatment (fillings/crowns/extractions) in office, instead they complete treatment at a surgery center or at a hospital. They focus on keeping the patient comfortable and safe during treatment. They call to check in on patient and provide after care instructions for patient. They will not allow a patient to leave the facility after treatment if they aren’t doing well due to safety reasons, which is preferable as I would rather stay under the care of the provider if my child was not doing well after sedation. That’s more than what I expected from a dentist. They focus on care and safety for the patient. If you want your child to be taken care of by a professional dentist and their staff who knows what they’re doing, this is your place to go. Definitely a great place to go! Highly recommended.

From start to finish, the experience is exceptional. Our appointment time was honored, and we were in and out so efficiently – a lifesaver when you’re managing kids’ schedules! The entire staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the environment so kid-friendly that my son actually enjoys going to the dentist. Special shoutout to Sandra, the dental hygienist, who is a true angel! She made my son’s cleaning a breeze by explaining every step of the process in a way that kept him calm and engaged. Her creative and fun names for the “scary” tools turned what could have been a stressful experience into a fun one. My son wasn’t scared at all – he was fascinated! I can’t recommend Growing Smiles enough. If you’re looking for a place where your kids feel safe, cared for, and even have fun at the dentist, this is it! Fantastic experience: I am so happy we found Growing Smiles! Staff is amazing with the kids. We started coming here years ago when my son had so much fear of the dentist office. He has special needs and because of how good and patient they are with him, he has come such a long way. My son is now 14 years old and today he had his first filling ever. I was so worried how it was going to go. I didn’t want this to be a set back from how comfortable he is at the dentist now, and I’m so happy to say that it wasn’t! He did awesome! Dr. Becerra and her assistant Julie were AMAZING with him!! They made him feel comfortable and at ease. I couldn’t believe how smooth it went, thanks be to God. I mean it when I say they are AMAZING! I wouldn’t take my child anywhere else!

After a horrible experience at Little Heroes in San Juan, with sedation of my child without completing the work and their interest in just insurance money rather than having patience with my 7 year old during a sedation in with he got anxious. Contrary to them here at Growing Smiles Dr. Carlos Mohamed is the best in Children Dental Practice, his work, the patience and professionalism of what he is doing really shows with the whole team. Everyone there is so friendly and caring to their clients. Now my son reminds me when his next visit will be because we love it here.

Negative experience: They never have appointments available to see the dentist sooner due to a toothache. Don’t know what type of system they use but every time I go they never have my insurance on file. Oh and the treatments they schedule them 2/3 months after visits. And if you leave a bad review they erase them my kids won’t be going there anymore

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough great things about Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry! From the moment we walked in, the entire team made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Dr. Becerra was incredibly kind and patient while working with my toddler, making the whole experience stress-free. My daughter absolutely loved the dental assistant, Denise, who was the SWEETEST and so interactive with her. She kindly answered all of my questions and was very reassuring throughout the visit. Denise really made my little one and I feel at ease during the entire process. We also had the pleasure of meeting another dental assistant, Natalia, who was just as wonderful. Today, we also met Dr. Pinto, who was attentive, caring, and treated my daughter with such gentleness. The lady at the front desk is also super sweet. I can't remember her name, but she sits at the middle computer and has a little ducky that my daughter loves to play with every time we visit. Her warm welcome really sets the tone for the visit. A huge thank you to the entire team at Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry! Your hard work and dedication to the kiddos of the RGV are truly appreciated. Negative experience: The dentists and their dental staff were really great. They were friendly, making sure that my kids were comfortable during the visit, and very professional. They also thoroughly explained the procedures needed. Unfortunately the office staff are the complete opposite; they’re rude, unprofessional, and incompetent. I was given a wrong quote before my visit and expected to pay SIGNIFICANTLY more on the day of the procedure because someone “at the front messed up,” and they just shrugged off their mistake. They’re also rude over the phone and don’t follow through on relaying information or rescheduling appointments. My kids went in for four appointments, and there were issues each visit, either a “miscommunication” or mistake from the front office. As soon as my kids’ series of dental procedures were finished, we switched dentists.

Fantastic experience: Great customer service, fast procedures and great smiling faces every time you go. The office is clean and smells great. The staff is knowledgeable and very eager to always help.

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency with my son and Dr. Mohammed came in to take care of him and treated him after hours. He is an excellent dentist, who cares about his patients. Positive experience: The employees are very kind and welcoming BUT waiting for the Doctor takes Forever! My kids were seen by the hygienist rather quickly but once she finished we waited an hour for the doctor, she wanted X-rays from one of my kids so we had to wait a second time for her to meet with us to review them. Thank God my kids are patient but it’s unreasonable to have kids waiting so long.

Negative experience: Initially, Growing Smiles was the best of the best at least to me a few years back. Now, the front receptionists don't know what they are doing and on top of that they are rude. Everything seems so rushed and they are always trying to keep me out of the room where my children are to be seen, which I do no not agree to, and they insist but I don't budge and you can tell their discontent and the animosity in the room is so uncomfortable. They are unable to obtain clearance for my daughter since the last year, will be switching dentist.

Negative experience: I wish i could have given 5 stars but due to the customer services received with such sarcasm I don’t even want to give it a 1. Then to change their policy ( I understand things change) but they were so convenient on a Saturday now they no longer due cleanings. Very disappointed

Negative experience: Before scheduling my appointment I asked if they take my insurance and i was told yes. On the appointment day I was told they take all insurances but my insurance in not in network which was the main reason I had I asked before I even scheduled appointment I had to pay $75 for the visit when I could had avoided that fee if they had been honest with me when I first scheduled my appointment

Negative experience: Really grateful for Dr. Mohamed and his team for treating my daughters enamel deficiency. The day of, it went so smooth and both the RDA and Dr. Mohamed communicated everything to me as it was happening. I am confident I made the right decision to come here. I was originally referred to Smile Station but because of their 2 month waiting period for their next available appointment, I did my research and came across Growing Smiles and chose to go with them to get my daughter the treatment she needed, immediately. Up until yesterday, I was decided on moving my daughter to this establishment for all her dental needs, but towards the end of our visit, we were escorted to a room where we were supposed to receive a follow up appointment, but the woman who helped us was really rude and answered none of my questions. I was trying to get a file/record of what procedures they had done at the DHR Day Surgery facility, as my dentist office was not able to get it because of confidentiality and they just wouldn’t release it (which I understand) since they didn’t refer me to Growing Smiles initially, but she wouldn’t even give me a copy of the report/file and said I’d have to return when Dr. Mohamed was available to speak to me in 1-2 weeks. Everything up until this point was perfect, but I do not appreciate the service offered by this individual. It’s as if it’s a completely unreasonable request and was dumbfounded that I’d even ask. She even went on to say that a regular Dentist wasn’t even a real Dr., so it didn’t make sense for them to ask for a record of the procedures she had done. My daughter is 18 months. It’s understandable to me that her primary Dentist is concerned and wants to be informed on the measures they took that day and anything she should keep an eye on. I wish things could have gone better, but I am really grateful for the treatment done towards my daughter.

Fantastic experience: I am very thankful for Dr Becerra Garcia she did an amazing job with my 4 year old. Even after going over my daughter’s initial treatment plan she made time to meet with me before her procedure to address my concerns and go over treatment plan options. My little one would not allow X-rays to be done so first step under anesthesia was for X-rays to be done to confirm best options. I was extremely nervous about my little one going under anesthesia and having work done and Dr Becerra kept me informed throughout process and took very good care of my baby girl. I am very thankful for her professionalism, thoroughness, experience, kindness, and empathy. The office staff is friendly and professional. It’s very hard to find a dentist that doesn’t just consider you another number. I definitely give Dr Becerra 10 out of 10 and again am very thankful for her

Positive experience: Good service, but they have too many patients and now take 4 months to fix my kids cavities, because they don’t have availability open for months. That’s not ok.

Negative experience: I called today as a new client since i tried to set up an appointment for my son. Was placed on hold for 10 minutes and then they hung up the phone on me without saying anything or tried to call back. Lost a client.

Fantastic experience: Very patient with your Children. My daughter didn't have the best previous experiences at other dental offices, but they kindly reminded her to breathe and reassured me that they want kids to have a positive experience with the dentist office. Very happy with our first visit.

Looked for so many doctors in the area as well as the reviews and let me tell you Growing Smiles did not disappoint. They were wonderful with my two daughters. Fantastic experience: My child had an emergency during the weekend and the on Call emergency line. Vanessa was very helpful and kept checking status on my child . We got an appointment first thing Monday. Dr Mohamed and his staff have been incredible through out all the emergency. From the moment we walked in we were treated with care. Front staff , the assistants, check out/insurance personnel have all been helpful and explained everything very well. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: No professionalism. No consent was given for X-Rays and the “doctor” still instructs the assistant to take several X-rays. Money (in my case- a chance to Bill my insurance) is more important to these people than your family or their health. They talk nice, but you’re just potential dollar signs to them.

Fantastic experience: We have had a great experience with all the doctors at Growing Smiles. My son has autism and they are so patient and compassionate with him. He is so anxious going into the clinic and he leaves so happy. I'm so grateful for them! They are amazing!

Negative experience: Please hire competent employees to provide information to your patients. Your front office staff needs to be trained on insurance in and out of network. They provide inaccurate information, and it is not doing your business any justice, nor is it providing a trusting relationship with your patients. I'll be taking my children elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mohamed is an incredible dentist! Apart from being very professional and kind, he was great with my son. The entire team at Growing Smiles is incredibly organized, professional, and amazing with kids. They went above and beyond to make sure that we received the best care possible and that my son's visit was enjoyable. As a parent who has already gone to a couple of other dentists to find the best dental care for my son, I can honestly say that they are the best at what they do.

Positive experience: I have no complaints . Dr. Mohamed and staff have great patience for my children and friendly environment.

Negative experience: My kids were patients for years, since they were at the old location. As they got bigger and got more patients, I became disappointed and dissatisfied with the new practice but I stuck with them because they had been there so long. My kids were Dr.Mohamed’s patients for the first visit and then we were changed to Dr. S. At the new office he only comes in to tell you about any problems. The assistants do all the work and everyone seems rushed all the time. This month was the last visit for my kids here. First of all, let me warn you, they take kids to the back by themselves. Parents stay in the lobby. Secondly, the visit took 2 hours, in which they kept my disabled husband out in the car waiting and it was a hot day. Yet there was a couple in the lobby waiting together. The front girl bringing patients In doesn’t speak Spanish and she basically kicked my husband out after I told him to come wait inside with me since they were taking a long time and I had the baby. When I questioned the girl, she says I don’t speak Spanish. She then went to talk amongst the other 3 receptionists. I asked to go with my kids and to my surprise they were ALONE AND UNSUPERVISED in the room they had their cleaning. I asked a worker when the doctor was coming and she just said soon and continued with the other patients weight check in. My son said they easily had finished the cleaning half an hour earlier easily. I waited another 10 minutes before we left. Another worker came to catch up with us on our way out to tell me the doctor was going but I told her it was okay, we waited enough. We are currently looking for a dentist who actually works on his patients and they have better manners. Oh and 6 months ago, I told Dr. Siedow that I didn’t like the way the assistant cleaned my 5 year olds teeth, and he told me that the next visit he would do it himself. Well, he didn’t.

Negative experience: First and Last time being seen here!!!! Dr was incredibly pushy and aggressive with my husband to schedule a surgical appt for my son. My husband advised he would not make that decision without my input..I was unavailable due to taking our other son to a sick appt. The dr cont to push him and terrified my son during the appt. The Dr was super fixated on my son's thumbsucking and was pushing for a surgical procedure to be performed to permanently insert a device that would stop my son from sucking his thumb by making it "uncomfortable". I am appaled by the lack of professionalism from the Dr and his refusal to respect my husband's response to include me in a major medical decision for our 5 year old. I am am surprised at the lack of "kid friendly" approach towards my child at a pediatric clinic! I attempted to follow up with Dr by phone to discuss the appt and was never heard back from the Dr. My son has always loved going to the dentist and now hes afraid, unacceptable!!! Will not return!!

Negative experience: Zero stars! Worst dentist experience I've ever experienced with my daughter. 1st of all they lock they're doors with our children locked in. Ok we the parents are not allowed at all what's so ever inside. I was waiting longer than I felt was the enough time to look into my child's mouth and tell me what I would like to do next for her. Okay I go to front window and receptionist says oh they have her on laughing gas can you sign this for me and hands me a paper. Smh. Wow I scream at her and go to door and say open this door now and give me my child!! She doesn't Wana open the door till I calm down and insist I sign B4 going in. I never signed and went in when she opened to give me the paper again.. I went in and saw my child laying there fully connected. I kept saying disconnect her Now!!! And I will never look back at that very dangerous dentist and employees. I'm giving my very honest experience to any parent thinking of taking their children here. Just because he's a pediatric dentist doesn't mean his office is at all safe for our children. Okay please think twice before you watch them lock that door and leave you on the other side not knowing what kind of work is being done. Mr. Dentist go ahead and check cameras of that day or call me if u need to. You still sending me emails after I've said I've chosen another dentist for my kids. Best dentist for 4 years in a row I think not! Omg please do a full investigation on office. Should have sued

Fantastic experience: My sons family doctor recommended growing smiles and I couldn’t be happier with how my son and I were treated as it was my sons first dentist appointment. My sons doctor was so thorough and explained everything and made sure I was involved when looking at my baby’s gums! 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this place!! My kids are 12 and 10 and have been going there, since they were toddlers. I feel truly blessed to have such a great place to take my kids to and they always look forward to going. The staff is amazing and both Doctors are truly great with my kids. My children have been with Dr Wilcox since 2003 and as the practice has grown they always provide excellent service and are very patient with the lids. My oldest is autistic and he has always loved going to the dentist because they take the time to explain what they are going to do to make sure they understand and feel comfortable.

Fantastic experience: My son did great during his sedation with Dr.Mohamed. I was able to be present for the sedation which is something I really wanted to do. They didn't tie up my son nor used any restraining boards on him. They even gave me a follow up call to check on my son after his sedation/treatment. Great place ,great environment,and very clean. They are still enforcing masks and following COVID19 Protocols( which is super important). Amazing visit. Thank you

Negative experience: My son walked out with the blood vessels in his eyes popped... my wife explained how he has anxiety and it would be best if she held him and Carlos Mohammed refused and insisted in sitting him in the chair. He's a 3 year old.

Fantastic experience: Have brought my son with autism to Growing Smiles for past 12years now. His dentist Dr Mohammed, dental hygienists and all the rest of the staff have ALWAYS been great from Day 1. He is 15yrs old now and has no cavities and got sealants today to keep protecting his teeth. My son loves his dentist and staff as so do I. I HIGHLY recommend Growing Smiles!!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mohamed and Dr. Siedow are both phenomenal. Both have had the opportunity to see my daughter and both were amazing. Knowledgeable, inviting, understanding, great with kids, and professional. All wonderful qualities a parent is looking for. COVID-19 regulations implemented were reassuring. We have been before and during Covid. I had just moved to the area and needed to find a new dentist for my 4 year old, I had several appointments with others, that were not mom ideal, other pediatric dentists we saw were not as well rounded or other. Highly recommend growing smiles Dr. Siedow and Dr. Mohamed!

Fantastic experience: Great place to go when you are looking for a child’s dentistry. Growing smiles DRs and staff are so proactive and do such an excellent job when it comes to my sons routine cleanings. I have been going for 2 years now and have zero regrets. My first experience during this covid pandemic was unbelievably comforting knowing they cared about our health and stoping the spread. We were greeted at the door and staff would open the doors for us as they also wiped all surfaces patients would touch. Knowing and seeing all the safety matures they took when I visited was all I needed to reassure me that I have made the best decision for years to come. I highly recommend Growing smiles

Fantastic experience: This was my twin girls first visit here. The staff were very welcoming. They have measures in place to keep us safe (only allowing 1 adult in the office per family) but they were very accommodating. Realistically I could not have filled out forms and taken care of both my 8 month old twin girls at the same time. And when we went to the exam rooms even though my mom couldn’t help me there, another nurse was watching one baby while I held the other one for Dr.Mohamed. Overall I was very impressed with how considerate and welcoming the staff was.

Great job Paulina, the office is super clean, very organized and well planned intake, especially with new Covid 19 protocols you all put in place. Fantastic experience: Today is our first day here and my daughter loves it everyone here are nice and it's a beautiful office. I really recommend to bring your children here I would come back for my kids dental visits. They have a floor where they can play games and really enjoy it. And it really clean environment.

Fantastic experience: Took my 6month old bby to get his first dental check up last week & I'm glad I did. From the moment you walk in till the moment you walk out the atmosphere is inviting warm friendly clean I mean I can go on and on bout this place. The Dr. (dentist) himself was so friendly courteous his approach twd his patients in this case my bby boy was awesome he presented himself very knowledgeable with great etiquette & good bedside manners. And last but certainly not least the staff is the same very friendly (except the receptionist in the first window the morena one...she needs to smile when she greets the patients and make eye contact when she speaks to us or is being spoken to) other than that it's a 10+ star in my book!!!*********
