Fantastic experience: I had a crown, cleaning and two fillings done at Bates Dental this morning. The time booked was 3 hours. With three different staff; Doctor, Hygienist, and assistant, I was out in under 2 hours. This office does outstanding work and I appreciate their efficiency. Same day crowns seem like a miracle to me!

Fantastic experience: I had my cleaning today with Samantha who is always great at what she does. Dr. Bates is always professional and knowledgeable in what he does too. Sandy, the receptionist, is always nice and knowledgeable in what she does too. If you need a great dentist and staff go to Bates Dental for the best care.

Fantastic experience: My mouth is a mess and my anxiety was through the roof concerning the appointment. From x-rays to polishing, the entire process was painless, for which I am so thankful. There is still a lot of work to be done but I left with a sense of hope, that Dr. Bates will work with me to come up with a suitable plan, both esthetically and financially, that will give me confidence in a better, healthy mouth.

Fantastic experience: I have always had a lot of anxiety going to the dentist (more irrational fear) but Bates is hands down the only dentist I have gone to where I feel comfortable. The staff, hygienists and Dr Bates all make you feel supported, heard and cared for. They do fantastic work and are fantastic people. The take care of your teeth and they care about you as a patient - highly recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Bates and his staff are kind, caring, thorough and offer high quality care. This group of professionals together have made this the most outstanding dental office in my lifetime.

Fantastic experience: The most professional, friendly, painless, comfortable dental experience you will ever have. I went in for extensive dental work, fearing the worst, but was so reassured and relaxed by the staff that I was able to undergo a root canal without nitrous oxide and without panic. They work fast, but thoroughly, and always pay attention to any concerns or questions you have, and don't skimp on the anesthetic, so that procedures are totally painless. I've almost dozed off a couple times in the chair because Dr. Bates is so gentle. They call in the evening after appointments to check in on how you're doing--the answer has never been anything less than "great" in my case, with all the work done being both stable and cosmetically gorgeous. They have a fantastic loyalty plan, and lots of neat perks to make you more at home--they offer beverages when you come in, have chill tunes playing instead of muzak, and you can watch Netflix while they work if you like. They even gave out free primroses to clients this spring! The staff is also a safe space for the QUILTBAG community, and open to learning. I'm a trans man with a nonbinary fiance, and they use the right pronouns for both of us and my preferred name. It's a potentially dangerous move coming out to anyone, much less people who are going to stick a drill in your mouth, so I'm beyond grateful that my confidence wasn't misplaced. I'm honestly afraid this review may look fake, but this place has reversed my attitude toward dental appointments completely, and I just wish my experiences until finding them had been half as pleasant. I can't recommend them enough! Just updating four years later to say Bates Dental is practically family now! Had my first-ever extraction, and thanks to the team, it was a breeze. They're treating my entire family and the warm reviews are shared! Seriously the best dentist in the state, when we move I'm gonna end up coming back here for care.

Fantastic experience: I was having a lot of pain and the doctor dentist I was going to his answer was to pull teeth. I was recommended Dr. Bates. He got me in the very next day and after x-rays he knew exactly what the problem was. He fixed it that day gave me some antibiotics for the infection and within a week, the pain was all gone and I went back and it was all healed and I felt wonderful and I’ve got been going to see Dr. Bates now for a couple years.

Fantastic experience: I went in for my regular cleaning. Sandy the receptionist had made a bouquet of beautiful flowers for me because I had happily agreed to change my appointment due to unforeseen circumstances at the office. Samantha the hygienist remembered that I liked having a pillow for my back when she's working on me. Everybody at the office is great.

Fantastic experience: This was my third visit to Dr. Bates office today and every time all of the staff have been wonderful. The waiting room is very comfortable and very little time is spent there. All of the dental staff are skilled at their profession. This is what I was looking for.

Fantastic experience: My tooth split in half vertically on a Saturday morning and the dentist called me back right away and set up an appointment time to at least make it not hurt and it got done quickly. Thank you Dr Bates . You are amazing.

Fantastic experience: It's several years after my original post below, and we are still the happiest of campers. Bates Dental does fantastic work! And everyone who works there is competent and genuinely cares about you. ****** We were new to the area and were referred to Bates by our doctor at Kaiser, who has been going there for years. I was impressed by the state of the art equipment, such as 3D X-rays that take a couple of minutes and display your teeth from all angles. Everyone there is incredibly competent and friendly. We are living proof that they really care about their patients. They have a 20% discount program for the uninsured who must pay out of pocket, including two cleanings for an annual fee. I needed dental letter before a knee replacement, and paid out of pocket for the exam. A month later, I realized I should have signed up for their uninsured plan to save money. Although too much time had passed, they let me start the plan anyway, and including the exam. My husband will be eligible for dental insurance in August, but comparing the plans was complicated. Their office manager, Sandy, offered to crunch the numbers, and told us know that the Bates plan would be more expensive. Since then we’ve had a dental emergency, and went straight to Dr. Bates. My husband needs a bridge replaced, and also several crowns. He’d like to ultimately get posts, but cannot afford it yet. So Dr. Bates is designing a plan that is incremental, replacing crowns and keeping the mouth healthy, but not putting in anything that would not allow posts later. Also, he has lost some bone (!) which is terrifying. But Bates will be able to fix everything, in the right order, and we are able to pay installments, another kindness.

Fantastic experience: It was a great experience. In and out with a new crown. I highly recommend Dr Bates. Update: I had another crown and cleanings going on 2 years. All services continue to be top-notch. Today I walked out with a new crown (repairing one) in 1.5 hrs. This was a great experience like the others. Do yourself a favor and give them a try. Update 3/27 had a checkup today and it was as great as ever. Dr Bates is excellent and consistent! Thanks you guys! I'll be back.

Crown came loose on Saturday, and they were able to repair it first thing Monday am in only 45 minutes. I have never ever had that painless of an anesthetic injection IN MY LIFE. I was bracing for it to be uncomfortable, and it was just so easy and so painless. They have the most up-to-date dental technology to ensure a pleasant and comfortable visit. Since the above post, I have had routine checkups and cleanings, and the staff has always been amazing. I had an emergency root canal needed under an old crown and the appointment was for the next morning. Root canal and new crown in place, and the results were awesome. I highly recommend Dr Bates and his staff.

I have so much anxiety bit once again Brandi was incredible and she and Dr. Bates kept me calm and explained everything and kept me pain free! Fantastic experience: Hadn't been to the dentist in over a year, so I had plenty of build up of tartar Dentist was very thorough and left my teeth better than they'd been the last time I got a check up. I liked that the water used for cleaning in between my teeth was warm, and that's good for people like me who have teeth sensitive to cold things. So overall a successful cleaning and very friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic service, the dental assistant was amazing and explained everything she was doing and communicated very well. The dentist was also great also explained everything great demeanor. The front desk woman is also amazing in explaining the bill and how things are covered. Very good experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a dentist.

Fantastic experience: Bates Dental is the best! After being chicken and not going to the dentist for several years, I finally got up the courage to go & was in a bit of a panic when I made the appointment. Sandy was wonderful and soothing and assured me everything would be ok - and it was! Christine has done the most wonderful job taking care of my teeth & putting me at ease. And no lectures, pressure or condescension - only great work. Dr. Bates is so reassuring and it was a great experience overall. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Dr Bates for almost a year now. We are trying to catch up on some very overdue dental needs so there has been a pretty good variety and the care he's been providing. I've given him a couple surprises and a very much appreciated the way he handled them. I also really like the professional and extreme team spirits that he has in his office thanks so much doc.

Fantastic experience: Recently I had a cleaning at Dr. Bates Dental by Christine. She is the best hygienist I’ve had, she’s gentle, careful and has an awesome personality! I highly recommend this office, Dr. Bates is awesome. Today I had an old crown replaced with a new crown, all done start to finish in 1 1/2 hours. I have no pain or discomfort and what a joy to leave the office with the new crown in place. Dr. Bates and Brandi make an excellent team. Positive experience!

Fantastic experience: 1/10/2024 Update- Another awesome visit today to Dr. Bates' office. Bridge started, prepped, designed, manufactured and placed and out the door in 2.5 hours! Where else can you get that?? Awesome team and I just can't recommend them enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Update: This is still the best dental practice in town. I really like Dr Bates. He's real, down to earth, goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome and cared for. Sandy is the sunshine that lights the room when you walk in the door. Christine and Samantha are the amazing hygienists. They have secret tricks for helping you not gag on the xrays. I recommend this office fully! ************************************* This was the best experience I've ever had at a dental office, by far! The staff was warm and welcoming, I didn't feel judged for not going to a dentist in 5 years, they worked with me to make a treatment plan that I could handle and they sent me home with a little bag of oral hygiene freebies. So far, I can't say a bad thing about this practice.

Fantastic experience: As always, our family experience was great yesterday morning. We took our family of 7 to get our 6 month cleanings. The environment is clean, organized, and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, thorough, and Dr. Bates. I appreciate the care my family receives here, how great they are with communication, and how easy they make it for me to schedule all our appointments.
