Negative experience: I have now been to this dentist 4 times. My first visit was AWFUL, but I thought maybe it was a one time thing. My first visit was at 3pm and it took 3 hours to get my teeth cleaned and examined. I kept asking to reschedule but they kept putting me in different rooms saying I would be out soon. I’ve work in a medical office before so I understand being behind. The doctor spent all of 7 seconds in my mouth before being pulled away and then had her assistant list all the things wrong with my mouth without a set treatment plan. My second visit was for my wisdom teeth removal. They took an x-ray and when I finished the receptionist said “they told you about the $350 x-ray charge right?” No they did not. Why would I not be told prior to the appointment or prior to the X-ray? After that I started booking 9am appointments to avoid being pushed back. Nope, no improvement. The hygienist stall for the dentist, taking extra long to clean my teeth. When I mentioned how long my first appointment was, my hygienist said, oh they are always 3 hours. Okay then why do you only validate 2 hours of parking? This last time their receptionist was too busy to help me schedule my next appointment so they just automatically booked one without checking with me. They also refuse to give me a quote with my insurance. They just show me what it costs without insurance. I truly have never had such a terrible experience multiple times. I am purposefully changing my insurance so I never go there again. Normally I wouldn’t write a review but with the email and text reminders to write a review, it just reminds me how each experience here is worse than the last.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Fifth Ave Dental Arts for a couple years now and I have nothing but positive things to say about them. I have always been very anxious about the dentist, both with getting work done and with not wanting to get overcharged. From the receptionists, to the hygienist, assistants, and every dentist that I have encountered there, everyone has treated me with compassion and gained my trust. All my dental work with them has been amazing and worth every dollar. I recommend them to all my loved ones because I know they will be in good hands. Finding a dentist you trust is extremely hard but going to Fifth Ave Dental Arts is absolutely the right choice!

Negative experience: They absolutely are not very professional not to my standard 20 year retired USMC sniper & on top of all they did with my teeth the clinic drink wanted for me to pay a CT scan whenolina cover up to $3000in dental work I suggest that you should wave the $250 & do the scan so if you don't want to be taken don't go there or you're wlet will be empty before you get there

Negative experience: My name is Don Gross ...when i made my appointment they told me that my Xrays and initial visit and consultation was free and 1 week later they billed me $186.00 and they continue to bill me ... i am not paying them ... even the supervisor told me when i was there that there would be no charges for my visit ....don't go there !!

Fantastic experience: They arevery good but I won't be able to use them because of my insurance

Negative experience: This was the worst dental experience I’ve had. I strongly recommend reading the negative reviews and proceeding with caution. My experience mirrored what others have reported: long wait times and pressure to accept unnecessary services that appeared designed to maximize insurance billing. I had to return three separate times just to complete implant impressions, and the lab they used produced a temporary tooth that did not fit—twice. I ultimately transferred my care to another provider and had a far more ethical and trustworthy experience. Nearly a year later, I am still receiving bills for questionable charges. This is despite the office owing me a refund, which I only received after visiting in person twice; they were unresponsive and unhelpful by phone. I will be reporting this office to the Better Business Bureau and the California Dental Board.

Fantastic experience: Went in for an exam and cleaning, it’s been awhile so I was a little nervous, but it was a smooth process. Allison was my hygienist and she was super kind, thorough, and personable. Overall a positive experience - would recommend.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at this office. It felt like the focus was more on upselling than patient care. During our visits, both my wife and I were recommended multiple additional services, including deep cleanings quoted at $1,600, orthodontic referrals, Invisalign, and even wart removal. Despite requesting the treatment plan three separate times, it was never provided. There were also safety concerns. While I was having X-rays taken, the technician tripped over the cord connected to the device in my mouth. It was nearly pulled out, which could have caused an injury. That situation was unsettling and poorly designed Additionally, my wife had scheduled a standard cleaning covered by our insurance, but the office pushed for a deep cleaning instead, stating that a regular cleaning couldnt happen. Overall, the experience felt financially driven with over recommendations. I’m pretty sure they pay for the reviews, they gave me a treatment plan of $11,000

Negative experience: Disappointing experience. I went in expecting a regular cleaning, which my insurance covers. However, they told me I needed a deep cleaning and refused to perform the standard cleaning. I was then given a quote for $1,600 for the deep cleaning. After seeking a second opinion from another dentist, I was told that my X-rays did not show that I needed a deep cleaning and that my teeth were in good condition and I would be fine with a regular cleaning. They also recommended multiple fillings that, according to the second opinion, were not necessary. It honestly felt more like a push for expensive treatments rather than patient care. When I called and explained that I just need a regular cleaning and I would go somewhere else they offered to scheduled it for me. Sooo… were they lying about me needed JUST A DEEP CLEANING AND NOTHING ELSE? I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to major procedures here. I’m grateful I didn’t move forward without checking elsewhere first.

Fantastic experience: I scheduled a next morning appointment as I was flying into town and my crown had fallen off. The staff were professional and welcoming. The service was impeccable and the office was very clean. If I lived in San Diego they would definitely be my dentist!

Fantastic experience: I’m a complete wreck when it comes to the dentist, but from the moment I walked in, Stephanie was incredibly helpful and pleasant. Fadi, the hygienist, made me feel comfortable and was extremely patient throughout my cleaning. Dr. Ghassemi was informative and a pleasure to speak with. Overall, it’s a great team, and I’d be happy to visit the office again.

Negative experience: Dental mill. Don't just walk away, run! All they are interested in is getting more $, billing $ to insurance, rather than understanding and caring for patients. I have been going there for a few years but this last visit will be my last. Its incredible. I was told about an issue I had but in the 40+ years I have been going to a dentist, no one - not a single one - mentioned such. Additionally, the prior dentist in that office that I saw twice never mentioned such. Just this one. And in fact, you go to the website, you don't even see this dentist that looked at me. I suspect it is a 'temp' to handle the churn in / out of people coming through. Even the hygienist. I never get the same one and I went 3 times a year. They also state, we should do such and such. I said do I need it. And they 1st say, your insurance covers it. I said, o.k., but do I need it. Most of the answers is no or not totally. I have been real clear on what my needs are and what I require. It's not hard or difficult, but, I have to repeat myself every time. This past visit, the person said 'would you like to chat with the owner'. I said yes. I said they can also call. Surprise, no visit when I left and no call. In fact, as I was leaving, I walked past the dentist and whom I suspect one the owners chatting - no ack / no hi / nothing. I walked right through them :(. Oh well, if you want basic service, stay away from them.

Fantastic experience: I had always had great teeth, never had a cavity or braces or anything so When I turned 50, I was horrified when my two front teeth began to chipping and my bottom teeth began crowding. I started with a small company and bought Invisible teeth straightening devices through a well-known company. it was great until my front teeth started chipping. I decided to make things permanent. I made the decision to invest in my smile and chose to get Veneers. Initially, I chose 5th Ave Dental Arts because it was close to home and the reviews sounded good. I started with 4, then 6 then 10 top Veneers because they looked so good! I LOVED my new Smile! I am complimented almost daily! I moved away from San Diego 6 months ago and since I grind my teeth at night, I lost two Veneers on one side! I contacted 5th Avenue Dental Arts and the incredibly professional, kind and understanding front desk staff consulted with the Doctor and made appointments for me to return to San Diego for the repairs. The Doctors there respect their work and want to put their best product forward so they made arrangements for me to come in and made new molds to send in to the lab and checked and re-checked my bite patterns, made arrangements for a night guard and a bottom retainer to prevent my bottom teeth from further crowding. While I was at the office I overheard a gentleman across from me who ALSO lives up by Lake Tahoe who came down because he too puts his trust in the BEST California has to Offer! Every day we present our smiles to the world. It can make or break a first impression . The public can be judgemental and having a beautiful, healthy smile can mean a big difference in how we are seen by Employers, family, friends and Partners. Not ideal but it’s the truth. I drove 12 hours from the mountains and Wine Country to see the BEST. You would too!

Fantastic experience: The team at Fifth Avenue Dental Arts really stepped up when I had a loose crown. They were able to squeeze me in for an appointment at 5 PM the next day and when it turned out more serious and a minor procedure was needed, they fixed it that night. I am so thankful to the staff for helping me that day and sacrificing their time staying late to take care of my issue.

Negative experience: They allowed us to book for cleaning on NYE, sent multiple messages confirming the appt and by the time we got there we were told we cannot be seen for a cleaning. Total waste of time, rude, no respect for patients time and efforts. Will not be rescheduling.

Negative experience: Had pain in November and conjectured it’s an infection, but the Dr said it’s not an infection. Went again on December to find that it was indeed an infection Decided to move to another dentist after that. Have been with them for 4 years, but will move after what happened

Fantastic experience: I had a complicated dental situation arise completely out of nowhere. After a couple of nightmare consultations, I found 5th Avenue Dental - and I’m incredibly glad I did. I had an infection in around an impacted adult tooth that never came down when I was a child. Dr. Ghassemi was able to clean the area and perform a bone graft, addressing the root of the issue. From there, Dr. Mojaver stepped in and set me up with Invisalign to help guide the adult tooth down while keeping my smile properly aligned in the meantime. Having both a dental specialist and an orthodontist working together in the same office has been invaluable. They truly work as a team and clearly know what they’re doing. In addition to specialized care, they also offer regular dental cleanings, which makes it easy to keep everything under one roof. The staff is friendly, receptive, and genuinely compassionate. The office offers free parking in a secure parking structure - a huge plus. Throughout the entire process, I've felt informed, supported, and confident in my care. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Fantastic experience: It was very hard and took years for me to find a dentist that I liked. I just had my second visit with Fifth Ave Dental Arts and I couldn't be happier. Everyone, includes reception, techs, hygienists, and the dentist have been completely sweet, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I have felt very well taken care of at both visits and find their work very thorough and accurate. They informed me that there is extra work that is optional for now and might be necessary for me to have done in the future, which completely makes sense to me, knowing my own mouth. Negative experience: STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE OFFICE! READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS PEOPLE!!! One of the owners has complaints against him through the dental board of CA, the front desk staff (particularly Stephanie and Leslie T) are rude, and they break HIPAA laws by refusing to give patients their medical records, they say “they don’t give records out”. On top of that they lose your crowns - I went in yesterday and the dentist had the audacity to tell me “we didn’t lose your crown, we just can’t find it and have misplaced it” the rudest and most unprofessional practice I’ve been to. I’m appalled. They also admitted to being at fault for having a random dentist work on my teeth that was her “working interview” and the dental assistant Tiffany said she was awful and she’s been fired. The list goes on and on with how shady this place is. THEY ALSO BILL YOUR INSURANCE FOR THINGS THEY DON’T DO AND OVERBILL YOU!

Negative experience: I thought this place was decent, even recommended them to friends. But my partner had dental surgery here in July, they overcharged me by $800+ (for a procedure they didn't end up needing to do), and have dodged issuing me a refund for months now. Highly unethical and incredibly disappointing. Avoid.

Easy to connect with and not stress about appointments! I’m doing Invisalign and we recently moved so I booked an appointment to keep going with my treatment and Miguel was great! Dr Mojaver has a great team! I recommend her as a Dr as well, she really takes care of you and helps you get to your smile goals!

Negative experience: I needed emergency dental work. And all this office did was take an X-ray and told me to come back the next day to possibly be seen by the doctor. Which is absurd! I have advanced PPO dental insurance. All I needed was a back tooth pulled. This office refused to even share with me the price for the work I needed. Just wasted my time completely!! I went to a different dentist office and got the work I needed the same day!! No run around, no rude receptionists! Got me out of pain under 2 hours. Why even accept emergency appointments if you aren’t going to service the emergency? Take care of the people who want to do business with you, or continue to miss out. No reason why I had to miss out on work for an entire day because this office didn’t handle business.

Fantastic experience: Truly appreciate how kind and professional everyone is at this office! Stefanie is always there and so welcoming when checking us in or going over post appointment information. Allison and Kevin are our absolute faves. They are not only fantastic hygienists, but just awesome people in general. I think I made it hard to continue the cleaning cause I just wanted to talk to Allison the whole time! I don't dread going to the dentist because I know this team will be there to make it a painless and and easy experience.

The hygienist, Kevin, was amazing! The dental assistant was exceptionally efficient and careful with a full set of xrays. And Dr Ghassemi was genuinely interested in what I had to say, making sure that my first visit was exceptional. And the receptionist (Amanda?) was incredibly friendly and efficient as well. Can’t wait for my 4-month check-up. Already booked it!

Fantastic experience: To begin with, this is an honest review of the service and procedure(s) that were completed by the wonderful Dr. Ghassemi and his crew at 5th Avenue Dental Arts. I’ve had terrible English teeth my whole life and I would never smile with teeth showing. I lost an upper rear tooth during COVID and then another front lower tooth was coming loose so I decided to look into full upper and lower arch replacement. I researched and gained knowledge about the procedure. I consulted with 4 different doctors. I knew right away that Doctor Ghassemi was the perfect choice. He was very friendly but exuded vast knowledge in a professional way. He answered all of my questions and went out of his way to make me feel comfortable since it truly is a big decision. I had about 10 visits in total. The imaging was tedious but necessary. My only complaint is that at least on two occasions, the imaging needed to be redone. It was a little annoying. When it was time for the procedure I did everything he asked and the procedure was virtually pain free. The pain management was perfect, I never felt any pain just some discomfort from the long procedure. Follow up visits were great. I broke the temporary set and Dr. Ghassemi saw me right away and fixed them immediately. I just had the final set put in and I feel like a new person. They are stunningly amazing, honestly. I am absolutely pleased %100 with the look, the work, and the quality of everything. It was an absolute pleasure having Dr. Ghassemi work on me. He treats you with kindness and respect and his bedside manner is top notch. He cares about my comfort, health, appearance and well being. Add his great sense of humor and you have a truly terrific dentist. Oh and Lacy was fantastic too in the billing department. Super helpful! Thank you Dr. Ghassemi and crew, I love what you’ve done!

Positive experience: What a pleasant experience! Check in was easy and quick! I did not wait long to be seen. The hygienist who performed the X-rays and cleaning was amazing; so sweet and caring and talked me through everything she was doing. My treatment plan was clearly outlined by the receptionist however it would’ve been nice to discuss in more detail what my options were given my budget (different types of crowns and fillings with pricing) vs just a “well here it is, you’ll have to pay $1,200 and that’s that”

Fantastic experience: I was on a road trip when a piece of my dental crown broke. The dental team fixed this in no time and I was able to continue my trip without the fear of more hustle caused by the tooth. The treatment was 100% professional and I left the office in perfect conditions.

Fantastic experience: This is the best denal office ever! Not only is every employee very customer service oriented, but the doctors are highly skilled and have a great bedside manner. They are one of the only offices open on a Friday. I do and I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know!!!

I came in for wisdom tooth pain, and within a week, I was scheduled for surgery to remove all three teeth. Fantastic experience: We are so happy with Dental Arts. The dentists are great. We go for ourselves and our 6 year old. They always treat us so well and full address all of our concerns every visit. They are prompt and efficient and have done everything in their power to quickly schedule the two dental emergencies we have had in the time we have been there. Our 6 year old enjoys the visits and they treat her like royalty. Such a great family dentist, truly.

Negative experience: I was a new patient here in December 2024 for a routine cleaning. They needed to take X-rays, but the machine was in a separate part of the office and the dental hygienist couldn’t get it to work. She tried several times while I stood there, then gave up entirely. I was brought back to the waiting room, where I watched the hygienist and the front desk receptionist chatting about their dinner plans. By that point, I was tired and ready to leave, so I went to the desk to ask what the holdup was. The hygienist quickly walked away, and the receptionist said she was “working on my paperwork.” I told her I wasn’t feeling well and needed to go soon. She suddenly finished the paperwork right in front of me, clearly annoyed I had interrupted her conversation. This was an unprofessional and frustrating experience from start to finish. I’ve since found a much better dental office that values its patients’ time and provides excellent customer service.

Fantastic experience: Holy moly, what a great experience!!! And I don’t know if I ever thought I would describe a dentist appointment this way. My cleaning and X-rays were done by Aubrey. Such a sweetheart, made me feel so reassured and relaxed. And after the dentist came in to tell me all the things that were wrong with my teeth, Aubrey told me that even tho I have many cavities that my teeth were really clean and that I had been doing an excellent job caring for my teeth. She laughed at my jokes and made me feel very comfortable, despite feeling very insecure about my teeth. Onto the dentist: the first one, a blonde woman, just rolled in, said this is wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong. She wasn’t very friendly, and didn’t go over anything with me. I also explained that cost is an issue for me when she recommended I get a consult for implants. But she didn’t seem to acknowledge that, or consider it when adding all this stuff (some I felt unnecessary and not urgent at all). When I got to the front they gave me the treatment plan, it was $14k for everything and that included my insurance!!! I felt stunned and confused after that. I was also wondering why the dentist didn’t go over my treatment plan with me. I went back for an implant consult with the other dentist: Dr. Ghossemi. He was amazing!!! He showed me all my X-rays, pictures and went over everything with me. In order to not overwhelm me we simply created a treatment plan for one quadrant at a time. This was much more manageable for me to wrap my head around. Unfortunately between the last appt and my next I lost my job and therefore my insurance. So when I called to cancel, they convinced me to come in and see what we could do. Just the most pressing issues, and to see if I could qualify for financing. In talking to Dr. Ghossemi, we decided that I needed at least three crowns in one quadrant. I have a missing tooth as well, and decided against the bridge for cost of course. I let him know that I only had so much available on my care credit card (which allows you to make payments with no interest for medical expenses). The billing person came back, showed me that the total for three crowns was way over what I had available, but that Dr. Ghosemmi was willing to do it for the amount I had available on my credit card!! I almost cried at the generosity. Then as he was getting to drilling, he said, “do you just not want the bridge because of cost?” I said yes, ultimately. He said, “you know what? I’m going to go ahead and do it anyway at no extra cost to you.” I am completely blown away, and am now determined to find a new insurance plan that ensures I can continue to return to this dentist. I can’t speak to the other dentist, as I had a very brief interaction with her, but Dr. Ghossemi is the best. Not only was he willing to work with me and make sure he was doing the best for my dental health, but he was also incredibly skilled! I barely felt the first few shots of anesthetic. He listened when I told him I always need more numbing. And even when he started drilling I didn’t need to ask for more. But I felt totally comfortable asking if I needed to. I have had many dentist experiences where the dentist seems frustrated when you complain and ask for more. He also made me feel so comfortable and cared for. As long as I am in San Diego he will be my dentist. Forever grateful!!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this dental office for many years and have always had a great experience. The front desk staff is helpful and efficient, and all of the hygienists I’ve seen have been thorough and competent. Drs. Mojaver and Ghassemi are also both excellent dentists and very personable. They even fit my dad in for an emergency visit when he was visiting from out of town. Highly recommend!

The entire team at 5th Avenue Dental Arts got me right in and examined right away and within no time at all I was no longer in pain. Everyone was so kind and supportive. Fantastic experience: I went to Dr. Mojaver after a previous cosmetic dentist was unsuccessful at replacing my front upper bridges I had for ten years. Because of this, I came to Dr. Mojaver with great concern and anxiety. I have struggled with image issues related to my teeth since I was a child, as I did not grow my adult lateral incisors. I explained my vision and Dr. Mojaver replaced my bridges successfully on the first attempt. The bridges look exactly how I wanted them to and my bite feels precise. Additionally, Dr. Mojaver has a very kind and genuine energy. You can tell she was meant to be the highly skilled dentist she is. The cost was also more than reasonable as it was approximately half the price I paid to my previous dentist. A couple of months after my procedure, I went back to Fifth Avenue Dental Arts for a routine cleaning and Allison did a fantastic job. She was very thorough, kind, knowledgeable, and patient with all of my questions. I have also referred two of my coworkers for cosmetic dentistry and they too are pleased with the procedures they have had done thus far. I will continue to be a patient of Dr. Mojaver as long as I live in San Diego!

Fantastic experience: A friend of mine referred me to Fifth Avenue Dental Arts last year. Ever since, I have been very impressed with the professionalism, friendliness, and the level of care that I have received from Dr. Ghassemi and Dr. Mojaver.
