Fantastic experience: I had an appointment with Dr. Chu to have remaining composite removed, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. Both Dr. Chu and her assistant were amazing—upbeat, kind, and completely painless! Highly recommend this team!

Fantastic experience: Michelle was terrific she used an electronic tartar removal instrument new to me. No pain no blood she also taught me about interdental brushes for cleaning between teeth with wide gaps. Dr also found a cavity there because it was a food trap.

Negative experience: By far the most unprofessional experience with a dentist. The staff was very nice and his assistant was wonderful. The dentist, who’s name I never received, was completely unprofessional. He entered on his cell phone, never introduced himself, then proceeded to tell me that I don’t actually feel what I do, could not sustain eye contact, was condescending and ill informed. I just left because he truly had no idea what he was speaking on but more so, did not care about anything I stated. He felt almost argumentative which is concerning for a dentist. Especially after notifying him that I have dental anxiety to which he completely ignored. I would definitely recommend going anywhere else!

Negative experience: ⭐☆☆☆☆ I would not recommend Dr. Steve Hong. His profile says he treats patients the way he would treat his mother, brother, or friends, but that was not my experience at all. I went in because I was experiencing significant tooth pain and left feeling frustrated and completely unsatisfied. Instead of listening to my concerns, he repeatedly talked over me and didn't allow me to fully answer his questions. Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time I experienced this behavior—I had a similar experience with him over two years ago. I believe every patient deserves to be treated with respect, compassion, and the opportunity to explain their symptoms without being interrupted. I left feeling unheard and disappointed with the level of professionalism I received. Based on my experience, I would not recommend him.

Fantastic experience: I just left from my very first visit with this practice. I must say, I left there feeling much better mentally about the dental work I need done. I have a list of reasons why the dentist office in general is just about my least favorite place to go. This time was very different. The staff was attentive and kind, explaining everything along the way. The office was immaculate. They had an air filtration machine two feet from my dentists chair... which was very appreciated during this pandemic I am pretty excited right now at the prospect of finally taking care of some problems that have plagued me for years!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! UPDATE: I just realize that I never hit the button to post this write up... which was written by me years ago.. before AI wrote everyone's reviews... well here I am all of these years later.. still coming here all the way from my new house in West Virginia. They are THAT good... worth a four hour drive and a visit home to NJ to me... HIGHLY RECOMMEND.. especially if going to the dentist gives you anxiety! ... cleanings so gentle I could doze off in the chair! Receptionists are fantastic.. the Dentists themselves are fantastic.. never wait longer than 10 minutes to get back to the chair. Still running those air purifiers too... 5 STARS every single time I go.

Negative experience: One star. Extremely disappointed with our experience at Woodbury Dental. My son had an 8:30 AM appointment and missed school for this visit. At 8:33 AM, while we were literally getting out of the car in the parking lot, I received a call from the office saying they were canceling his appointment because we were “late.” I explained that we were already there and walking in, but they still refused to see him. We were physically inside the office by 8:35 AM — only five minutes after the scheduled time. It was very clear they were overbooked and instead of taking accountability, they used our being five minutes late as the excuse. Completely unacceptable, especially for a child’s appointment scheduled first thing in the morning. Very frustrating and disappointing experience.Will never go back.

Addendum: Had tooth pulled yesterday. Dr. Hong was great. He was gentle and worked quickly. I have had no pain or soreness at all. If you're like me and stress out going to the dentist, I highly recommend Woodbury Dental Associates. Everyone is warm and friendly as well as efficient and professional.

Negative experience: This place doesn’t even deserve a single star. I got a root canal done there in December. The female doctor started the procedure. When i went in for the crown it was Dr Hong and immediately he was rude to me saying he should not be the one placing the crown because he didn’t do the root canal, which is whatever but they also canceled 2 appointments for my crown so when you need childcare you can’t always work with the doctors schedule especially with constant cancellations. Yesterday i went back for discomfort with the tooth i got my root canal done. I didn’t want any work done by them, i wanted x-rays to confirm there’s an infection still and a referral to an endodontist. The assistant Ashley was so sweet, reassuring and just her patient care skills were amazing. But Dr Hong came in telling me he doesn’t know why I’m in his chair when i left a bad review before and complained about his care. But unfortunately they were my active dentist office still and THEY messed up my root canal. He told me he wasn’t doing anything not even an xray. But then he does the xray, confirmed the infection then proceeds to tell me he won’t prescribe me antibiotics for the infection THEY didn’t flush out fully and he said it himself that it wasn’t completely flushed. The doctors patient care skills are awful and that’s not even the full interaction I’ve had with him. Everything that comes out his mouth to patients is terrible. The front desk ladies and the assistants are the only people there that are nice, helpful and caring and they all were apologetic about my interaction with Dr Hong.

Negative experience: On 6/13/2026 I saw Dr. Hong at Woodbury Dental Associates. I scheduled an appointment, because MetLife said that they take my insurance there. I double checked when scheduling with Woodbury Dental Associates that they did in fact accept my insurance, and they told me that they did. There have been several issues with them. The first being that they scheduled me with a dentist who was out of network and did not tell me. When I received the bill that said out of network, I was floored. My insurance company said that they should have let me know that they were scheduling me with an out of network doctor, but they did not. Secondly, I have never had a more painful cleaning in my life. Thirdly, they found a "small" cavity while I was there. I went back on 6/20/2026 to have it filled. Unprompted, Dr. Hong told me that it was a "routine cavity, and very easy to fill" for him. Months later I was still having extreme sensitivity in my tooth. On 9/12/2026 I went back because of the sensitivity in the tooth that had been filled by Dr. Hong. He was condescending and rude. He told me that "that just happens with filled cavities" and that it's not uncommon to still have such a high level of pain from the sensitivity. He took x-rays, said they looked fine, and then continued to file down the filling MULTIPLE times because the bite was incorrect. This was the clear cause for the sensitivity, but when asked, Dr. Hong said that it in fact was not the reason and that I just needed to wait for it to go away. After this I was charged with a $79 bill. When I called to fight it, saying that I should not have to pay for a visit that was caused by Dr. Hong's mistake, they said that it didn't matter if it was a mistake or not and that a service was rendered so I needed to pay. If Dr. Hong would have taken the time to correctly fill the "easy, routine" cavity, I wouldn't have needed this visit to take an additional xray and file down the filling. They insisted that I still needed to pay. I immediately began looking for a new dentist. When I called them back to have my records sent to the new dentist, they said that they couldn't until I paid my outstanding bill (which is illegal). Months had gone by, I hadn't paid my bill, and my new dental appointment was on 2/16/2026. My new dentist said that if they did not send over the records, I would need new xrays with them to examine my teeth (that would need to be paid out of pocket because I just had them done at Woodbury Dental Associates months earlier). I called Woodbury back to ask that they please send my records. They told me once again that I needed to pay my outstanding bill, but now knowing that that is illegal this time, I pushed them on it and asked if they would send it without paying. They said they needed to make a few calls and would get back to me. They finally called me back and said they could give me the records, but I needed to come in person. When I asked if they could please send them virtually, they said no. So I went in person, where Roquel harassed me about paying, started yelling about sending me to collections in the middle of the office, and finally handed me the physical copy of my records (making sure to only provide xrays and leaving out chart notes). The new dentist said that photocopies of xrays are unhelpful and that Woodbury should know that (and I'm sure they do). They tried to get the virtual copies sent over and were unsuccessful. I've filed a complaint with multiple agencies about my outstanding bill and I am waiting to hear back, but I'm so happy to be done with them. NEVER again.

Negative experience: Went in for a cleaning. The hygienist was good, quick and efficient, which is the only reason I even gave one star. I was very disappointed with the dentist. She came in just as the hygienist had completed my cancer screening and was starting to clean my teeth, talked with the hygienist about how she had something in her eye all day, ran her hand around my mouth for 5-10 seconds, asked if I had any problems and when I said no said “it looks great, see you in 6 months”, then hustled out of the room. I had a 5:00 appointment, so I’m sure she wanted to go home but I definitely felt like there was little to no concern for my teeth and the “examination” that she gave me was wildly unprofessional and hurried. My wife and I both have been going here since we moved to the area three years ago and have had a decent amount of work done, however, that was all before the new doctors started. Needless to say, I’ll be looking for a new dentist before that 6 month appointment comes up and would recommend avoiding this practice to anyone who’s looking.

Fantastic experience: Very prompt with decisions, had a miler removed that had a failed root canal, didn’t even feel him grab it and pull it out. Was done in 30 seconds and the assistant was very nice and made sure you were comfortable. I go back for an overall check up in July, I’ll will see how the cleanings go. I have a little tarter build up from not being able to brush full force because of my broken collar bone. But overall impression, they move quickly and make sure it’s done right. I would recommend. Thank you staff!

We like carol she is very thorough when it comes to cleaning our teeth. We are comfortable with carol. When the gentleman comes in afterwards our check up is good with him thanks to carol. Fantastic experience: After my previous dentist didn’t take my insurance any more, I bounced around to a couple dentists to find the right fit and am glad I found Woodbury dental associates. Annie at the front desk is so helpful, sherry has been so supportive with my aligner process. The doctors and hygienists have been good and on schedule for my two cleanings so far. I recommend coming here for full dental care!

Negative experience: Dentist great. Dental Hygienist great. Person working front desk nightmare. Wanted to get some crowns replaced and the lady kept telling I didn't have insurance when I did. I called the insurance about twenty times, and they knew who I was and told me I was covered. I tried explaining it to her, but she was unable comprehend it or call them for verification. She gave me the run around and wasted my time for all most a month. all I wanted to do was get some work done but she wouldn't allow me. So, I have to go to a different dentist which is not I wanted to do I wanted to go there, well they just lost out on over 4,000 dollars.

Positive experience: Had my first appointment today and it was a GREAT experience. The office is spotless, and the staff is knowledgeable, accommodating and personable. I saw Dr. Hong for an exam and x-rays. He was very VERY nice, explained everything, did not try to upsell me, adjusted my partial denture and filled 2 teeth! Very professional! Next: appointment with the hygienist then I'm done for 6 months! I worked in dentistry for 15 years and would highly recommend this practice for your dental needs! Update 1/25. Second visit..not so great. Saw the hygienist. She was abrupt, bordering on rude. Her conversation was scripted. When I asked to see my trays from my first visit, only 4 were available. Out of 14. The other ones got lost because the wifi is weak. But I have a balance due for xrays and my insurance company was billed. When I asked at the front desk I was told they "wrote off" the balance. And acted like I was bothering her with questions. To top it off, one of the teeth that got filled broke. I'll be looking for another dentist.

Positive experience: The dentist is exceptional but when I got my cleaning done I wasn't very happy with the results. Let me first start of by saying that she was very nice and kind but after she finished I noticed that she drilled a gap between the bottom of my teeth and I never ever had any gaps in my bottom teeth or top. Then I I developed some very severe pain in my bottom back tooth, I believe she dug to deep, nonetheless, it was very painful. I didn't have any cavities prior to my exam and after. So I don't think I will be coming back here for a cleaning.

Fantastic experience: I was told that I needed a root canal at a previous visit.The dentist today said the root canal wasn't needed and he was going to fill the cavity instead. When I pressed him for information on why two different dentist came to two different conclusions he couldn't answer the question. He was condescending,very dismissive and uncaring. My other visits over the years were great.For some reason they often have different dentist. Today's visit was horrible and they have yet to reach out to me. Didn't care for Dr. HONG.

Fantastic experience: I love this dentist office! I have struggled for a long time finding a dentist that makes me feel comfortable and that is certainly this place. They are also very thorough & honest! Thankful for them popping up when they did!

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience today. I had a dental emergency. They took me in right away helped work with me to get me squared away. The root canal went great felt no pain during it and kept checking on me the entire time to see how I was doing. 10/10 experience will definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone.
