Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery

Negative experience: Apologize for this negative grading, but after being quoted $700 on the phone for extracting 4 wisdom teeth, we ended up being robbed $2,500. They ask me to call their billing department and I did. However the billing department does not reply the phone as it is only a answering service to leave voicemail. They never returned my 3 voice mails. They claim that the wisdom teeth on my child are all 4 twisted and charged $814 per tooth, while the PPO insurance inly recognizes $403 per tooth for the zip code market. They use the technique of giving three different estimates: 1) on initial phone call which happened to be $700 total out of pocket after PPO insurance, 2) Different quote after first consultation at $1200 and 3) the day of the service amounting to $5,309 before insurance and $2,305 after insurance. They use a whole sophisticated set of forms and quotes to disorient the responsible party. So I consider they robbed me $2,500, but make sure I get the $103 yes one hundred and three dollar check refund. Seems they attempt to apeace the frustrated responsible party by giving little refund cash. Alpharetta, be aware of this business type and this is my first negative review as I mostly take the time to congratulate great services with 5 stars in the area. This Atlanta Oral and Facial surgery is the exception. I will keep this review and will only take it out if they refund me my $2,500 that they took from the credit card from my child. Please someone stop this type of abuse here in Alpharetta !!! Called back, but as no surprise due to lack of professionalism, after voicemail no one called me back. They still robbed $2,500 from my daughters credit card. Thx,

Fantastic experience: One of the Best Dental Experiences I’ve Ever Had! This was truly one of the best doctor’s visits I’ve ever had. I had a complicated case that required a tooth extraction due to an old infection, bone grafting, sinus surgery with additional membrane protection, and implant placement. Amazingly, everything was completed very efficiently in about an hour during just one visit! Before the procedure, I had a thorough consultation where Dr. Velez explained the best treatment option and professionally answered all of my questions. I also had a CT scan and received an insurance estimate the same day, with absolutely no pressure to proceed. Dr. Velez truly has golden hands! Ms. Carol and the entire staff are highly professional, caring, and attentive. I experienced no pain at all during the procedure, and even afterward, my recovery was remarkably easy. I didn’t even notice when the anesthesia wore off—just some normal swelling. I received very clear verbal and written instructions, as well as all necessary prescriptions, which made the recovery process very straightforward. And then—just three months later—I was ready for my new tooth! (The crown is currently in progress.) I honestly can’t believe how quickly and smoothly everything went. I am incredibly thankful to Dr. Velez, Ms. Carol, and the entire team for their professionalism, skill, and care. They made what could have been a very stressful and complicated experience feel easy and comfortable. I highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kiem and his assistants made my wisdom teeth journey so easy! I was extremely anxious having never been put under anesthesia but him and the team did amazing. My impacted teeth were removed with minimal trauma, I had barely any pain or swelling despite having bony impacted teeth. I have had a previous single wisdom tooth removed and this experience with all three was significantly less painful and complicated. I highly recommend any surgeon from this location.

Positive experience: I gave it 3 starts. The staff was super friendly and Dr. Dillard was very nice. I came in for a consultation. After checking in the receptionist let me know that I will need to get X-rays bc my dentist only sent over X-rays of single teeth(which by the way I don’t believe that) I was not informed that I would he charged $193 for the x ray. This is info that should get shared with patients before being seen. I go to check out and get the info about the procedure and then told I have to pay the $193. I will be contacting my dentist to see what x rays they sent over bc I really feel they tell you that they don’t have them to get you to do their x ray and and collect the money. I’m not sure if I will move forward with the process bc reading the other reviews about billing issues and my experience I feel I’ll be taken advantage of bc I’ll be paying mostly out of pocket

I called a couple days before my surgery to ask some questions and I was met with so much compassion and comfort. The surgery was super easy and fast and the healing process was super quick and simple. Dr. Dillard was so professional and played some bangers in the surgery room while I was waiting to go under. Fantastic experience: I will give 5 star to doctor and his team. Negative stars for the front desk lady at Old Milton park office. I wanted to understand billing charges and she (not American lady) from back seat came to answer with so much rudeness. Probably they might be getting this questions daily but she can’t be rude. She should have explained me in a nice polite tone. And she never even answered my question. On one side my teeth was hurting, was nervous for surgery , and the $$$ out of pocket was insane 2k. This lady might be too good in her work but she can’t be talking with patients in a bad tone. Because of her I wanted to give negative points but that will impact doctor and his team image. Whereas the front / admin ladies were much calm and patience with me when I went for consultation at Roswell office.

Negative experience: Be very careful with this practice. While the doctor and medical staff are fantastic, their billing team is nefarious. They incorrectly filed a claim to my insurance company. My insurance company and I have been trying to get them to resubmit the claim correctly; however, we can’t get anyone on the billing team to correct it and the billing team will not return any calls from me, calls from my insurance company, nor calls from their own front desk staff. This has been going on for months. I would not take the risk of going there and having your claim denied due to the billing team’s ineptitude. Also FYI, their billing team is in another state (Texas), and I’m guessing you probably can’t visit any of the Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery locations without having your claims go through the same Texas-based billing team.

Fantastic experience: The office staff is friendly and helpful! We wanted to come back for a follow up and then nurse we saw was very accommodating. The doctors are great as well. We had a terrific experience. The is our 2nd procedure with this office.

Fantastic experience: I was concerned with the prospect of a tooth extraction that I felt was not necessary. A referral brought me to the Alpharetta office. The reception was fluid, courteous and very organized. "Hight Tech" preliminaries were conducted inclusive of a detailed description of the entire process by the physician's assistant. Dr. Dillard was the attending physician presenting a very warm professional, personal detailed explanation of my situation, as well as a prospective necessity. As unpopular that dentist visits are, this visit was quite the contrary.

I was referred to them after an unsuccessful attempt to get a tooth pulled by another dentist who knew I was nervous and anxious and had an active infection. That dentist then referred me to Dr. Dillard. I was skeptical at first because I just didn’t trust the referring dentist after the trauma she put me through. But Dr. Dillard listened to me, took pity on me and assured me that I was in the right hands. They even took my X-rays from another dentist office so that I wouldn’t have to pay more out of pocket to have them retaken. I highly recommend EVERYONE to get their oral surgery done by Dr. Dillard. The staff is awesome as well, from the front desk to the back office staff. They even called me the next day to check on me post surgery unlike that other dentist office. I was so relieved that everything went so smoothly. God bless them all

Dr. Dillard and his staff were all so nice—they explained everything step by step as they worked, which really helped ease my nerves. Because I was nervous going in There was music playing in the background during my procedure, and I especially appreciated both the background music and that Dr Lewis hummed along—it gave me reassurance that I was in good hands. The whole procedure went smoothly and was over quicker than I expected. Dr Dillard was gentle giving me the numbing shot as well as pulling my two wisdom tooth’s . I highly recommend this office. And I appreciate the clear after care instructions that was given to me after my appointment.
