Fantastic experience: This dental practice is awesome! I was recommended by a family member and they enthusiastically suggested I change dentists to this practice. A great choice. They have a warm and welcoming environment located on a quiet tree-lined street. Destiny made me feel very comfortable as I waited to be seen and did a great job explaining my treatment plan. Angie and Robin were highly professional and very kind. And Dr. Hines was spectacular. He has knowledgeable and calming approach, he's spectacular. 11/10 stars, would HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Destiny, Robin, and Angie are very welcoming and amazing. I always feel at home when I step into the office! I would highly recommend Dr. Hines and his Team. I have been a client for 40 year!!

Negative experience: Updated Review: I was a patient at this office for about 10 years, and for a long time I had no major complaints. The hygienists were always pleasant (though there was a lot of turnover), Dr. Hines is a genuinely good dentist, and the office was conveniently located for me. Unfortunately, the front office's handling of dental insurance became a serious and repeated problem that ultimately led me to leave. Same for my spouse! 2018 – Invisalign inquiry: Instead of providing a quote, the office submitted documents to my insurance as if treatment had already been approved and payment was due. I only found out because I received copies of the checks my insurance had sent them. It took a call from me to cancel those checks. The office never acknowledged or apologized for the mistake. 2023–2025 – Invisalign treatment: When I decided to move forward with Invisalign, a miscommunication from the office to my insurance delayed approval by two months. I completed treatment in August 2024 without further issues — or so I thought. Six months later, at a February 2025 cleaning, I was told the office hadn't received the final insurance payment and was asked if I could call my insurance as a courtesy to help. That's not my responsibility, but I did it anyway. My insurance told me they were in a system transition but expected to resolve a backlog soon. I relayed this to the office and offered to forward my claims. They said it wasn't necessary and they'd keep me posted. They never did. Six months after that, I returned and was told the payment still hadn't arrived — and that I owed over $700 out of pocket. Again I reached out to my insurance. After multiple calls and reference numbers (all of which I shared with the dental office — while hearing nothing from their end), I finally reached someone with access to the provider side of the system. My insurance had issued the payment on time, before their system switch, and had a check number to prove it. They were kind enough to get on a three-way call with the dental office to confirm they'd reissue the check. Throughout all of this, the office never apologized. Shortly after, they called to schedule my next cleaning. I've since found a new dentist. Dr. Hines is a good provider, but an office that repeatedly fails to manage insurance billing — and then turns the burden over to the patient — is not one I can recommend.

Fantastic experience: The Premier Dental staff was very professional and friendly, and Dr. Hines made me feel comfortable by thoroughly explaining my exam and follow-up treatment plan.

Negative experience: To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my disappointment with the orthodontic treatment and follow-up support I received from Premiere Dental Care. As a teenager, I paid approximately $4,000 out of pocket for braces without insurance. At the time, I chose Premiere Dental Care not only because of the services offered, but also because I wanted to support a Black-owned business located near my grandparents' store in Washington, DC. As a Maryland resident, I made that choice despite not having the convenience of living nearby. After completing my treatment, I was provided with a retainer. Unfortunately, I later lost the retainer, and my gap has since begun to reopen. When I contacted the office to ask about obtaining a replacement retainer, I was informed that I would need to return for a new mold. The problem is that I now live over two hours away, making an in-person visit difficult. More importantly, taking a new mold now would capture my teeth in their current state, including the reopening gap that I paid thousands of dollars to correct. I worked hard and made significant sacrifices to pay for my orthodontic treatment without insurance. I invested in braces specifically to close the gap in my teeth, and it is frustrating to now be in a position where I may need to spend an additional $3,000 on Invisalign or other corrective treatment because I cannot obtain a replacement retainer based on my post-treatment results. As a loyal patient who supported your practice and paid entirely out of pocket, I expected more flexibility and assistance in preserving the results of my treatment. This situation has been both financially and emotionally upsetting, especially considering the effort and commitment I made to receive care through your office. I hope Premiere Dental Care will review my situation and work with me toward a reasonable solution. Sincerely, Quacy February

Fantastic experience: I started coming to Premier Dental after moving into the neighborhood and it’s been a great choice for me. In the past, I’ve dreaded coming to the dentist, but Dr. Hines is so attentive. I’ve never been to an office where you get to speak to the dentist at almost every appointment. The rest of the staff (Angie, Destiny, and Robin) are all wonderful as well. Angie specifically goes above and beyond and reaches out to schedule me whenever earlier appointments open up.

Negative experience: This dentist wasted my time. I went in for a cleaning. My teeth look and feel fine. I was told that I could not have a cleaning until 4k worth of work was done. Again, my teeth look and feel fine. Dissapointed, I went to another dentist right up the street and not only did I get a cleaning but was assured that none of the procedures identified here were necessary. Told me to follow up if there are any issues. I am glad this happened because I ended up finding a dentist that earned my trust. My family and I will go there. Be advised, especially if your time is not cheap. Also, this dentist got really close to my eye with the teeth pick as he rolled back and forth in his rolling chair.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Hines and his entire staff are exceptional and professional. Dr. Hines is that rare mix of deep expertise and genuine care for patients. He also takes the time to explain procedures and provides useful recommendations to improve your oral health. Going to the dentist is one of my least favorite things, but Dr. Hines and his staff put me at ease. Best decision for myself and my entire family!

Fantastic experience: We have had great treatment here. We’ve been going for 2 years. My family of 6 is seen by Dr Hines and his staff. One of my teenagers had a front tooth knocked loose. Dr Hines had a great treatment plan and his tooth looks great, not even noticeable and my teenager forgets it was treated as well. Staff is kind and helpful. I only wish they had sinks next to the chairs in the treatment area. But we have adjusted to the way this office does it now.

Sarah, the dentist hygienist provided the science behind why she was doing certain procedures and also provided me some great information about the state I will be relocating to. Dr. Hines listened to my concerns and provided the best options to resolve the issues. Overall my experience was a positive experience and I highly recommend this practice for your dental needs!
