Lamentamos sinceramente que su experiencia haya sido frustrante y que se haya sentido de esa manera durante sus visitas. Entendemos que recibir una lectura de presión arterial elevada puede generar preocupación, especialmente cuando posteriormente obtiene resultados diferentes en otro entorno.

En nuestra clínica dental, la toma de presión arterial forma parte de nuestro protocolo de seguridad antes de ciertos procedimientos. Cuando una lectura se encuentra fuera de los parámetros que consideramos seguros para realizar tratamiento dental, nuestra prioridad es proteger la salud del paciente y, por ese motivo, podemos recomendar posponer la cita y consultar con su médico. Esta decisión no tiene como propósito negar atención ni evitar realizar el tratamiento.

También queremos aclarar que las preguntas que hacemos sobre bebidas con cafeína o energéticas, medicamentos y antecedentes médicos forman parte de nuestra evaluación y buscan identificar posibles factores que puedan influir en una lectura de presión elevada. Nunca es nuestra intención hacer suposiciones sobre la salud de nuestros pacientes.

Respetamos que haya tenido una percepción diferente de lo ocurrido y lamentamos la frustración que esto le ocasionó. Nos tomamos muy en serio sus comentarios y continuamos trabajando para que nuestros protocolos y la comunicación con nuestros pacientes sean lo más claros y consistentes posible.

However, there is absolutely no excuse for the experience you described regarding the dentist. Feeling that the provider is dismissive and fails to introduce herself or explain findings is entirely unacceptable and falls far short of the standard of care and communication she practices every day with our patients. We sincerely apologize that you and your mother didn't experience our dentist's everyday, most excellent, compassionate, and professional service and left you feeling uninformed, uncomfortable, and unheard.

We take your comments about the lack of conversation, explanation, and the subsequent confusion about your cleaning very seriously. Effective communication is just as important as clinical skill, and we clearly failed on that front.

We are immediately addressing this internally to make sure that every patient gets a thorough explanation of their diagnosis, treatment plan, and any next steps, along with a proper introduction.
