Negative experience: Horrible experience with unprofessional staff. Will not return.

Negative experience: I’ve waited one year to get an implant impression done and it’s going to take another three weeks to get the crown. The billing issues have been a nightmare they made me pay a $1900 dollar balance that I disputed to get my implant stating they will still investigate knowing the office staff has completely changed. They billed me another $776 yesterday without providing a status on my dispute for $1900. Please be careful at this location and review your insurance coverage prior to making payments.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was very nice, from the front office lady to the lady who took xrays to the doctor. I had to wait awhile but I was told ahead of time that I might have to wait a bit longer than usual ahead of time. They kept me in the loop and I appreciated that.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank the entire dental works staff team enough for going above and beyond to fit me in last minute before a wedding I was attending. Their flexibility, professionalism, and genuine care made all the difference. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and in good hands. The appointment was quick, efficient, and the results were fantastic—just in time for the big day! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a kind, accommodating, and skilled dentist.

Negative experience: Now that some time has passed I can finally leave my honest review . In the month of February I came into this office in so much pain from my wisdom pain I almost fell out can barely stand up I was greeting by an African American woman she treated me so poorly I mean so poorly from the amount of pain I was experiencing at the time I went into tears . I simply said God do not like ugly she look at me so evil and say don’t you dare bring God in it . She then begin to feel bad and started treated me nice but the damage has already been done I never got seen at this dentist office I actually was refer by a family member to a dentist office in the next suburbs over and was able to get my wisdom tooth pulled and the recover great . However to the young woman who treated me poorly I will never come here and I don’t suggest anyone to come here either

Fantastic experience: The office is clean. Staff is friendly and professional and on time. The dental hygienist and the dentist were informative. I feel well cared for by these professionals at Dental Works of Glen Ellyn.

Negative experience: Took my daughter here in June 2024. The dentist, Brian Del Carlo, was very nice and we were happy with the service. Today I received a call from a collection agency stating I owed $32 and the dentist office sent me to collections. I called the office to attempt to rectify, as I had not gotten one phone call or email stating there was any balance due in the past year. The woman in the office told me they use a third party and don’t have any records on their end about collection efforts. She also told me that since I didn’t pay before I left, it was out of her hands. I have dental insurance, so it was impossible for me to pay until they processed the insurance claim. Keep in mind, my insurance paid this office $505! She also told me that my account has been blocked and I have to work with the collection agency. Initially, I would have recommended this company but based on their terrible, third-party billing practices, I do not recommend. I would have happily paid the $32 balance had they called me once. But they chose to send me to collections, with not even a phone call or mail to collect first. They also lost a repeat customer and I will be sure to share this terrible experience.

Negative experience: They wanted me to get two plates and I can't afford this. I remembered that I had a plate that was only missing a tooth. So today I am going to ask if they can do this and it would be so much cheaper for me. If they say no I will go to another Dentist.

Fantastic experience: They’re the absolute best omg. My tooth was damaged by a different provider and they were able to repair like nothing never happened. Thank you.

Negative experience: Terrible office. I scheduled an opening 9am appointment. They scheduled 4 appointments for 9 am with only 2 Doctors/ dental assistants working. Called the last person to arrive for their 9:00 a.m. Appointment back at 9:10. Didn't call the next person until 9: 20. Finally brought me back at 9:25 but I think just to get me out of the waiting room because they sat me in a chair for 10 minutes until I went back up and questioned why I was still waiting for my 9:00 a.m. Appointment. They told me that they didn't have enough time to do all the work and that they wouldn't be doing the cleaning today. Just x-rays. I told them that's unacceptable and to cancel my appointment. What a terrible way to do business. Like don't make appointments that you can't honor.

Negative experience: There has been significant turnover in both staff and doctors in the last couple of years. Every time I go in including follow up with current work there is a different dentist and staff in the office. We are in the process of looking for a different dentist.

Negative experience: Please don’t waste your time here as they do not value it. Called to make an appointment for a Cleaning. Couldn’t see my husband the first time and rescheduled. Came in the second time for 9am appointment, didn’t see him until 9:45 and only because we asked when he would be seen. He goes in and they quickly evaluate him and do X-rays just for them to leave for another 20 min to come back with a quote and then saying they couldn’t take care of him that day because there were another TWO patients behind him (apparently everyone had a 9am appointment) and the hygienist couldn’t do the cleaning… So basically 3 appointments for a CLEANING?!? We decided not to go forward with any treatment there because of the waste of time and the fact that they only saw him so they could bill the insurance with the check up and x rays. Not to mention we asked for his X-rays to be emailed and had to call a week later to ask for them again since they didn’t send it and when we finally did, it’s a screenshot of the X-ray, couldn’t even get an actual document On top of all that the place is filthy, my dogs vet has a cleaner work space.

Positive experience: This place has a revolving door of dentist/hygenists. Personally I like to be set with one dentist/hygenist. My last visit, I apperently had small cavities which I was supposed to be shown on the xrays, never happened. One of the cavities was supposed to be fixed, never was. I was given advice from dentist/hygenist who wasn't an orthodontist. Definitely changing dental plans and dental place in the future.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. My wife's experience was disgusting to say the least and mine wasn't super cleanly either. Now they are trying to pass the bill to us for the amount that Delta Dental overpaid to Dental Works. No customer service call back. No email response. Just a blank statement asking us to pay without any reference to why. Stay away and find another dentist.

Negative experience: Be ready to wait an hour to two hours before they take you and actually start on what you came in for. I had a cleaning done and it was an hour before they sat me in the room and another half house to exam and x ray by two hours they started the cleaning. Maybe they don't have enough staff or maybe they're not scheduling enough time between each client but they need some improvement with this issue.

Negative experience: I am forced to give a star, otherwise I would not give the star. The biller Becky, Becca, Rebecca (she uses three names) lied to me. She told me that I owed $56.00 because my dental insurance didn't pay for something, and she charged me $490.00. Also, she cancelled my appointment, and did not have the courtesy to call me, instead she emailed me; then cancelled my order for a mouthguard, that I paid $434.00, and kept my money. Inaddition, she billed my insurance for my order she cancelled. Insurance fraud is what the biller has done. DentalWorks should hire expirenced people who know how to treat customers with respect, not lie and steal from customers. Communication is graded an F, it's impossible to speak directly with the dentist at this location. I want the dentist to know what Rebecca, Becca, Becky has done to me. DentalWorks in Glen Ellyn owes me $1,064.00. It's time you pay me what you took from me.

Positive experience: I had the best teeth cleaning ever! Emiy the hygienist was extremely detailed! However, there was no dentist in the office!!! How is that even possible? No dentist to check my teeth??? Very disappointed I was not informed prior, or I would have rescheduled. Then I asked, where are the dentists?, heard they are down to one dentist, and she is on vacation. This office needs to get it together!

Use to get a new tooth brush and a sample good tooth paste but last two visits don't give now but prices continue to increase each visit. It is discouraging. Wonder if they appreciate faithful customers who go there every three months. I don't have insurance and getting less is sad.

Negative experience: Horrible experience, went for a dental cleaning and they apparently did not enter my insurance information so i kept receiving the whole bill. I was told so by new manager who by the way said she would resolve issue immediately. They have not and the bill has been sent to a collection agency. What is going on here??

Negative experience: I have reallly learned to dread this practice. The staff changes constantly. Never see the same dentist twice. If there even is a hygenist on staff that day, it will be someone different than last time. Absolutely no continuity of care.

Negative experience: Have had similar experience to other reviewers - Being charged for errors DentalWorks made and have been dealing with this since March 2024. My dental insurance company assigned me DentalWorks, and DentalWorks somehow scheduled me 1.5 years ago with an "out of network" provider which makes no sense since I was assigned to them - This shouldn't have been an issue since the group is within my dental plan. I have been dealing with this billing issue for OVER 8 MONTHS. You cannot talk to anyone in corporate or "higher up" than the office manager, and most of the time it is very hard to get a call or message back at all. I had to drive to the clinic 3 times to be able to talk to someone about the issue. Each time, I'm told there should be an update within 2-3 days, but I've had to reach out 1-2 weeks later each time with an update and told they never received any response back and will try again. I ended up paying the bill because they were sending it to collections, even though they told me not to pay anything until the issue was "figured out". JUST BE AWARE: If you receive a bill and are trying to get it fixed/resolved, you will either have to pay or it WILL go to collections. The actual dental care itself was very good! But I have not scheduled any appointments in a year because I do not want another billing mistake to be made. I will be finding a new dental provider because of this, unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: Today visit was for my daughter, we felt welcomed from the ladies at the front, the Tech and the doctor. My daughter was crying because of the shot to numb the gum. The Tech was so awesome in encouraging my daughter

Negative experience: Terrible. I can never get ahold of them to get records for my specialist. Their phone system sends you to customer service when the location is “busy” and they were closed during business hours when I tried to come by after work to resolve this. When I finally did get an actual person at this actual location she couldn’t find me in the system. They charged my insurance for the things we did at this location, so I can’t get them redone, but I have no records to show for it!! Ridiculous.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this DentalWorks to anyone. I wish I could give no stars, they don’t even deserve one star. Dentalworks Glen Ellyn schedules appointments and always call to change them. The staff is very unprofessional and incompetent. The office manager Rebecca rude will hang up on you and the other young lady that works there will do the same. The receptionist is and I call her that lightly, I don’t even know how she got her job. She can’t even make appointments correctly, she doesn’t even listen when you are trying to explain what you called for. This office needs to be shut down. They can’t even keep a regular dentist, hygienist, or orthodontic team. You might see a dentist once, when you go back they have quit. That speaks to the service that you receive when going to this office. You won’t ever see the same person to build any type of relationship. Will be pulling my whole family from Dentalworks all together. Have been coming to Dentalworks for over 15 years. I would not recommend anyone come to DentalWorks.

Fantastic experience: I had two crowns done today which is not easy. Dr Sama and her staff were outstanding and very professional. They discussed the entire procedure and cost before they began. Highly recommend this Dental Office.

Negative experience: Similar experience as others. Billing issues are left unresolved indefinitely. I called and left messages 12 times over a three month period to resolve a claim that was submitted to the wrong insurance company and was told that a manager would call me back, but my messages were never returned. I even stopped by IN PERSON to resolve a claim and was told it would be fixed. There is no way to escalate to a corporate office. I ended up paying the outstanding balance myself and self-submitted to my insurance. This was hours of waisted time. While we never had an issue with their dentists or hygienists, we've switched dental providers, so we never have to deal with this administrative headache again.

Negative experience: Ever since they've been bought out, Dental Works has gone downhill. They reschedule your appointments multiple times, if you don't show to the appointment they 've reschedule for the third time after you took work off for the first two times, they charge you. Terrible leadership at the higher level and they can't keep a dentist or an oral hygienist. Each time it's someone different and you can't even build a relationship. It's honestly flipping a coin each time you go in. I've given them three chances, hoping it would get better and today was the last appointment I will ever have with them. The dentist had to do my cleaning because they didn't have an oral hygienist available and it was rushed because he had another patient. Terrible experience and terrible company. Stay away!

Negative experience: Fraudulent Charges and Terrible Customer Service I want to warn others about my terrible experience with this place. I was charged multiple times for services I had already paid for, and I was even billed for services I never requested. Without notifying me, they sent my bill to collections, causing unnecessary stress. I’ve been trying to resolve this for weeks, but the front desk keeps saying they’ll contact their "bosses," yet no one ever responds. The customer service is absolutely terrible, and the practices here are fraudulent. If you check their rating on the Better Business Bureau, you'll see that I am not the first person they have committed this fraud against. DO NOT GO HERE!

Fantastic experience: Dr D is so nice he helped me last minute with my bridge. He and the staff always makes sure I’m comfortable and knowledgeable about the health of my teeth.

Negative experience: This was the worst dental experience I’ve ever had! I started dental service with the Dental Works Glen Ellyn office in January 2024. I had a cleaning and began the process of getting a lower partial. I paid $1,469 as a down payment for the partial, which was quoted would be $2,900! By April, I had had 3 molds taken but no partial. After many calls to the Glen Ellyn office I finally found out that the dentist had left and that the entire staff quit! At no time were patients notified of these issues! Again after many attempts to speak with someone in charge that could clarify this mess, I finally filed a small claims lawsuit against them and after several weeks I received a full refund! If there were a negative star I’d give them one!

Negative experience: This is the worst Dental place I ever been there will charge you money. They will never return your phone call

Negative experience: I have gone to dental works for over 14 years and never had an issue. Recently, dental works became apart of the Soraba health family, and have become impossible to get ahold of the office. There is now an Answering service who pass emails along to return calls to patients. The dental works in Bloomingdale closed and was told everything was transferring over to Glen Ellyn. I been trying to get ahold of the office for almost 2 weeks, to have my records send to a new office, but they are closing early or closed for many days. I have left messages with the answering service to have a return phone call, and still have not gotten a call back. Save the head aches and go somewhere else. Update:after 2 weeks of calling, I finally revived a phone call back. I was told I can’t get my records because the Bloomingdale office is permanently closed. I got a letter in the mail back in December that the office was closing, and records were being transferred. So where did my records go? I was told to get new X-rays at the new office, but there is a possibility insurance won’t cover it because it is only covered so often. Once again, save the head ache and go somewhere else.

Negative experience: STAY AWAY! "Consistently poor service and communication over several years. Crowns fell out multiple times. Currently dealing with an $800 bill, but no response from the office or insurance. Unreliable and frustrating experience. Would not recommend."

Negative experience: Had my appointment cancelled yesterday because they do not have a hygienist at their location currently - this is the second time they’ve cancelled the day before for not having a hygienist employed at the building and one other time they did not have a dentist. Every interaction when I have had my teeth cleaned has been super salesy and sometimes demeaning from the hygienist trying to guilt you into adding services.

Negative experience: You will face Unprofessional people here..no doctor..You will be overcharged and for sure You will be disappointed .My Wife comes here ..just for teeth# 18 that broken right corner ,SHARPNESS bringing down, not even 5 minute work..That's all .574.00$. lady's don't even call insurance..right away want cash. After 2 weeks she went to a real dentist , because nothing was done right. Jennifer and Nasaria never responded .unfortunately I don't have time to move forward with IDFPR but I'm sure someone will do it.!

Negative experience: They have cancelled my appointment 4 times in a row without notice. They make no attempt to fix it and seem completely uncaring that I had to take a day off of work each of these times. Go anywhere else.

Positive experience: The medical staff was great, however the front desk was not very hospitable. I'm considering going to a different place.

Negative experience: Update New take over ? New service.. continued to falsely bill again and again. I paid them so they would stop harrasing me. . They still try to get more.. This time the lady who called 1/5/2024 Had a sarcastic attitude. I would never go there again!! Absolutely took advantage of me and trying to over charge .. relentless fake billing.. Be very careful... I wouldn't go here again. ** they agreed in prices ( charged more then my insurance.) I paid all in full... after any appointment (before I leave ) Then years later they keep sending bills that were agreed and paid for. Must be the new owners trying to collect more.. BAD BUSINESS

Fantastic experience: I had the best dental visit and cleaning here about a week ago. Every staff member was pleasant, friendly, and fun. The hygienist was one of the kindest and gentlest. It felt like just as much of a social call as anything else, and my teeth felt great! Today I revisited to handle some fillings, and the team was just as friendly and helpful. Dental work isn't always fun, but everyone here made me feel safe and comfortable. They were even patient with my when my numb tongue went rogue. =) The services reflected what we discussed in our estimate last week, and I was in and out pretty quickly despite the amount of work they had to do.

Negative experience: Everyone was very professional and did not have an issue with the staff themselves. Though, I went in for a routine (yearly) cleaning and xrays like what my insurance covers. I was very direct with the staff and doctor that is what I came in for. I do not have issues with my teeth other than an occasional cavity (which I have not had in a few years now). I was told that everything I had done was covered under my insurance (I gave them the name and number for any questions). About 3 months later I recieved a bill in the mail for $182 for a Panoramic X-Ray for "treatment". I did not recieve a treatment or was given a treatment plan. I went to my insurance and filed a refusal of payment for the service provided for the Panoramic X-Ray. Fortunately my insurance was able to cover a portion but I am still having to pay out of pocket. I understand it was "covered under insurance" but that is not what I had my appointment set for.

Negative experience: I had an appointment for 10 am, but after my X-rays were taken was left to wait for 30 minutes (still waiting!) until my cleaning started. This is making me late to an important work meeting. I’m disappointed in the lack of professionalism.

Negative experience: Don't go!!! I scheduled the appointment 1 month before and I never received the confirmation message after the scheduling. I called them twice to send me the confirmation message and they didn't do it after my first call, and delayed sending me the message for 1 week after my second call. I finally received my confirmation message 2 days before the appointment, but on the appointment day, they said my appointment was cancelled. I called them to ask for explanation. They didn't give a reason and the person answered the phone was hard to communicate due to his spoken language. Overall, this team is extremely unprofessional, irresponsible and disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Just had another great cleaning and check up from Sharon. She is a wonderful dental hygienist, giving a thorough and comprehensive exam. Her knowledge and experience adds a great deal to Dental Works.

Negative experience: They canceled my appointment day of and said the offices were closed because of short staff and I took the day off work, and the scheduling line lied to me saying I never had an appointment. Don't go here

Negative experience: Scheduled an appointment well in advance, requested the afternoon off from work only to receive a text message the morning of my appointment cancelling it. These offices always post that there will be a fee incurred for missed appointments or appointments being cancelled without 24hr notice, it should swing both ways and they should pay us the fee when they cancel!!!

Negative experience: Literally the worst experience ever with a dentist! Don't bother booking an appointment. I get a message the day before my appointment confirming. Then the day of I get a message saying they canceled on me. I call their call center to ask what happened. They said they'd work it out and get right back to me. I get another text confirming my appointment is still on. I then show up and they say it was canceled. What a joke. I take off work in the afternoon and no one has the decency to call their patient to let them know what's going on? Never again. Done with them. On top of that, I get a message tonight asking how my non existent appointment was! Like seriously?! If they charged me for an appointment I didn't even get to go to I'll be reporting them for insurance fraud.

Fantastic experience: I've had many dentist over the past 35 years and this dental office is by far the best!! My dentist, Paul Doodes was very professional, thorough and courteous. His dental assistant, Maria was just as professional, thorough and courteous. The office atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. I hadn't been to the dentist in over 2 years because of my previous bad experiences, so I was very nervous when the day came for my appointment. Needless to say, all my fears melted away after the first 5 minutes in the chair. I definitely will be going to this dentist on a regular basis.
