Fantastic experience: This is probably the best experience I have ever had at a dental office. I had to go in for a major dental procedure that I was extremely nervous about. I finally bit the bullet and scheduled it after my wife convinced me. Dr. Mike was so thorough and took his time explaining each step in the process. At one point, I dosed off as I was so comfortable and was numbed quite well. At the end of the procedure a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders and I was very appreciative on the care that was shown to me. Everyone in the office has been welcoming and we even received a thank you card from our hygienist, Tina. If you are looking for a dentist that has the most advanced technology, provides exceptional patient care and listens to you, look no further.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mike’s Water’s Edge Dental is incredible. I started the process of getting replacement veneers a few years ago with the previous dentist on staff. I jumped through all of the hoops and started to feel taken advantage of throughout the process. Enter Dr. Mike. He is incredibly kind, communicative and considerate with his patients. I just finished my veneers today and Dr. Mike made sure they were absolutely perfect. His staff, notably Tina, Morgan, and Jaime are incredible and really go above and beyond to help patients. I highly recommend this practice!

I had my first visit today and WOW I am over the moon with my find From the front door all the way through it just kept getting better !!!! Fantastic experience: I was pleasantly surprised at the entire experience. From the moment I was greeted in the office, filling out my paperwork With Tina and her beautiful smile, I knew I was in the right place then I was able to meet Hannah the dental assistant who immediately put me at ease. I was so much fun talking to you about books and clothing while I waited for the dentist. And when Dr. Mike came in, I was treated like I was the only patient they had and that he was genuinely concerned about what was going on with my mouth. Fantastic experience: Since the majority of us do not like going to the dentist I recommend Water's Edge Dental to everyone! Professional staff and Tina, my hygienist, is the best! Negative experience: Dr. Bannon let his assistant place my crown a couple years ago...after all the money I spent on a root canal she botched it .I have had trouble with it ever since. It's uneven and above gum level. She begged me not to tell him ..didn't want to get in trouble. He made excuses of course... Just a cautionary tale.

Fantastic experience: I'm sorry to say that Shannon is not as efficient as Ashley who is my regular hygenist. She did'nt use the suction correctly, i had water running out of my mouth. Twice I had to stop her. Also at the end she had the water rinser on so hard I felt like I had a shower.

Dr. Michael Rolfes DMD and his office personnel are so very pleasant and do such a thorough job of your checkup, and cleaning . I was very pleased and was also educated to enable me to better care for my teeth at home for even better results next time . I was apprehensive going to a new dentist going in, but I came out very much pleased and feeling confident that I have such a good dental office to care for me.

Fantastic experience: If you’re in pain, who wants to wait months, weeks or even days to be seen and cared for? I spent all night suffering and all morning calling dentists near and far who advertised that they specialized in TMJ but didn’t. This office was the only place that came to my rescue. They gave me an appointment the same day as a new patient! I’m usually apprehensive towards dentists’ offices. However, each staff member was very welcoming, communicated very well, efficient, kind, caring, helpful, and thorough with their job. The office had state of the art equipment and was so clean. My insurance was out of network but they were willing to submit what they could. They really do try to accommodate. Stephanie, Morgan and the doc are heaven sent. This place is a gem.

Look at all the 5 star reviews, that is exactly the service they provided. I was a new patient from out of state, since then, 3 cleanings. I believe this will be my second google review ever, so keep that in mind. Read the reviews, they provide superior service. From the front end, to the deep clean, without name dropping... Fantastic experience: I found this dental office on Google. I called three other places as well but decided on Water's Edge. The hygienist Tina is incredibly kind and very knowledgeable. Dr Rolfes is caring and approachable and really listens and asks for feedback. You don't know what you're missing if you do not try this dental office. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Update 7-21-25. Today was my 4th visit. Dr Rolfes replaced my silver fillings that I had since I was 16. Everything went well. Gracias.

Fantastic experience: First time back to a dentist in probably 10 years and Tina (hygienist) was awesome explained all the technology they use in the office and gave my teeth an excellent cleaning! Dr. Rolfes was great and showed me on the tv were the pain in my molar was coming from and gave me an honest treatment plan with multiple options and did not try to upsell me like I remember my last dentist always trying to do. 10/10 highly recommend I’ll be back to take care of this cracked molar and future cleanings.

Fantastic experience: I first came to Water's Edge for an emergency and was impressed with their care and concern, plus their ability to fit me in without an advance appointment. Since that first visit a couple of years ago, I have had an extraction and a couple of crowns installed. I am pleased to recommend Dr Bannan and his staff for your dental work.

Negative experience: They done me Dirty. Went there with a fitting upper Denture for a Reline. Left there with a Relined Denture that doesn’t fit! Went back for an adjustment, Dentist lied to me, can never trust them again. I can see why they get an overall rating of 2 1/2 Stars from on Google. Will try a Legal route to get this Denture to fit Properly we’re i can wear again. Sad! I would Highly not recommend Water’s Edge Dental!!! Not Veteran Approved!!

Negative experience: DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC if you want Compassionate Care The most dismissive and rudest dental clinic I've encountered. I'm out of town on business and had a cracked tooth. I was going to return home just to have the tooth fixed I called to schedule an inspection and ask for the possible treatment plans so that I could schedule my travel plans allowing for the worst case scenario this would assure that my tooth would be fixed ... and leave town without any unnecessary delay There was nothing unreasonable being asked... In fact I said I want an aggressive approach to a solution and the receptionist totally misunderstood saying that I'm being aggressive for asking that my being out-of-state be considered because I'm having to schedule my travel. The clinic was utterly indifference. A little bit of customer care goes a long way, This dental Clinic is terrible and exhibits an absolute inability to think out of the box. NO diagnosis requested!!!! I am dealing with a cracked tooth so I asked what are the possible treatment scenarios may be required to repair the tooth so I could schedule according to the worst and most time consuming of the scenarios... Playing the indifference off as some legal requirement or some gesture of medical Integrity is a sham!!!

They ensure the patient is kept comfortable during their procedure. All their equipment is state of the art. When you walk in, they make you feel part of the family and experience. He has set up an outstanding team for my current situation, and though the journey is just beginning I find such relief knowing that I’m with a team of people who truly care for me.

Negative experience: The dentist is OK. NY biggest problem is that they keep sending me a bill for $250 of which I don't owe. I've contacted them twice and they say that I don't owe it but I keep getting reminders. I hope one day they get their accounting straight.

Fantastic experience: Having recently moved to the area a nagging dental issue also followed and I was in search of a great dentist. Luckily I received several recommendations for Dr. Sean Bannan at Water’s Edge Dental. A friendly Stephanie at the front desk squeezed me in and a helpful Teresa reviewed my insurance coverage. Dr. Bannan put me at ease right away and thoroughly and professionally investigated my problem which after a frank and honest discussion we both agreed a dental implant was the best choice. I was apprehensive about the whole process and the procedures but Dr. Bannan did not rush me at all merely answering all the questions I had. I can honestly say that it all went so very well due no doubt to Dr. Bannan’s experience and abilities, and his supporting staff (my cleanings are so gentle). So - as of today I have a beautiful dental implant. I recommend him highly for all your dental needs!

If you’re looking for a top-tier patient-centered dental practice outfitted with the latest cutting-edge equipment and staffed with highly trained and personable individuals, this is where your search ends. The state-of-the-art office that is Water’s Edge Dental is populated by welcoming people at the front desk, highly competent and through dental hygienists, and other specialists, all carefully selected for their skill and demeanor by Dr Sean Bannon DDS. You’ll be in the best hands. Dr Bannon is a young, upbeat, high-energy individual who cares very deeply that all those employed in his practice are upbeat and patient-oriented as well. Positive experience: As usual, very profession and friendly treatment by the dental hygienist. The office staff not so much. Once again there was a mix up over what time my appointment was actually scheduled for. This has happened before. And I was given an estimate for further treatment which I believe was very inaccurate.

Negative experience: It saddens me to update my review from 6 years ago. It was 5 stars but the past year has not been the best. My number one complaint is that no one ever answered the phone, you always have to leave a message. I had my cleaning scheduled for March that I made the year prior and suddenly got a voicemail stating that it was pushed out to May. Ok, no biggie, plus just trying to call to see what happened and why they pushed it out 2 months would be more of a hassle because once again no one ever answers the phone. I spent over $700 on a mouth guard that cracked in less than 6 months (hygienist even tested it with her tool to see what happened and poked a hole in it. Not her fault, the mouth guard was very thin in that area.) I was going to do Invisalign so they told me I will get a new mouth guard after the Invisalign was complete. Ended up not getting Invisalign due to the problems trying to schedule an appointment. Asked about my mouth guard and to this day no one has called me back. Cherry on top was when I finally got someone on the phone (Teresa) about the scheduling and no one answering the phone she just said "I don't believe you" and proceeded to argue with me. It's disheartening because I have been with this office for years and I loved it.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed with Waters Edge Dental practices of late. I have been a patient for 4 years and have seen this practice start looking more like a corporate health enterprise, making recommendations that are not warranted, and then pressuring you to follow all their recommendations. I went to a specialist Dr Bannan referred me to and he said he didn’t agree with Dr Bannans’ assessment. He said my gums were good and couldn’t understand why Dr Bannan was referring me for surgery. I will miss Tina, the dental hygienist, because she does an awesome job. She is the only reason I stayed so long. I had another hygienist, before Tina, who told me to “floss deeper”, when I complained about the poor cleaning she had given me. Some of the office staff are rude and very dismissive. I asked for copies of my lastest X-rays for the specialist I saw and they only sent him a pano view that was 4 years old. I had just had 4 bitewings taken 3 months before. They were not very cooperative and made it very difficult for me. I went in today to get copies for myself and to send to a new dentist and luckily one of the assistants at the desk was very helpful after the first person I was talking to was very rude and disrespectful. Thank you for your help. Sorry I didn’t get your name. I appreciate you. By the way, the new dentist I saw today said my “teeth and gums were very healthy “ and didn’t understand why Dr Bannan was recommending having my teeth filed for a better bite. Dr Bannan said I had an occlusion problem that needed to be corrected.? My bite feels fine as do my teeth. I take good care of my health. I am 72 and am very healthy. (Knock on wood)

Fantastic experience: I have lived with Dental issues since I was 12 years old. Long story short I did my research and found Dr Bannan. After spending time listening to my history he was very honest with me and informed me how he could help me. He assured me that he preferred to do the work himself other than send me out to others. He has state of the art equipment and spends the time to explain all the details. After a couple years working with Dr Bannan he explained to me that I needed some very extensive surgery and sent me to his friend Dr Beachcamp. Working with them together I have a great future to look forward to. Dr Bannan is extremely knowledgeable about NEW processes and procedures and just when I was about to give up he came through. Negative experience: I came to Water’s Edge Dental to have one of my teeth repaired and they said that they were unable to just repair only one tooth because my teeth were not healthy enough and suggested that I would have to have to remove all my teeth to have immediate dentures put in my gums. After I paid, had my teeth taken out and got my dentures, they said that I was able to eat, but after the procedure I was still unable to eat, so they recommended me to get implants for my teeth and after two attempts, they both failed and said that they couldn’t do anything about it. They told me to find some somewhere else to continue trying to get implants for my teeth. The full price for all procedures was $20,000. My gums are damaged, all my teeth are removed and all my money is lost. They said that they will call me back on Monday, July 17th and see what they can do about it. I don’t know if I should continue talking to them about it or if I should stop communicating with them. Please help me and Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I just became a new patient at Waters Edge Dental in Port Orange. I am so impressed with the staff and Dr. Bannon. I had a number of questions related to both insurance and dental and felt completely comfortable asking them and got thorough answers to all of my concerns. I look forward to a long relationship with this office/staff and have no doubt that I will refer them going forward.

Fantastic experience: My mother broke her tooth yesterday while on vacation out of state. She was recommended to Water’s Edge Dental by her friend. She was able to be seen today, the very next day, (after calling after hours last night when it happened). They were very efficient, pleasant, and responsive. They explained the options to tackle her issue and took very good care of her. It was painless and were very concerned throughout about her comfort during the process and wanted to ensure she wasn’t in any pain. It made a very unpleasant situation turn into a very pleasant one! Mom even wishes Dr. Bannan (with Shannon assisting) was her regular dentist!!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely phenomenal experience! Everybody there was extremely welcoming. I’ve been to quite a few dentists in my life and this one takes the cake (something I probably shouldn’t be having so I don’t have any cavities!) thank you guys so much for a great experience!

Negative experience: If I could give this place zero stars I would. I recently moved to Florida with my family and was in need of a dentist. I went for a teeth cleaning and x rays. The hygienist did not even clean my teeth, she poked and prodded at my mouth. The dentist “apparently” found over 9 cavities and some loose teeth? Which I figured was wrong since I take very good care of my mouth. After getting all the paperwork which was thousands of dollars, I wen’t to get a second opinion at my family dentist I used to go to. They were amazing!! I ended up getting a full teeth cleaning, x rays, and only 2 cavities that need to be filled. So, please do not go to this place if you are new here or are trying to find a dentist. Clearly they are trying to make more money off of issues that aren’t even there.

Fantastic experience: I started with Water's Edge 2 years ago and loved them. But, I had to switch dentists when our dental insurance was not covered at Water's Edge. I have been to 2 dentists this year and neither came close to the care and professionalism I got from Water's Edge. The hygienist at Water's Edge spent an hour trying to clean my teeth and gums from the lack of a proper cleaning from the previous dentists. I will never go to anyone else!! The entire staff including Dr. Bannon, Jennifer and Tina are the best!!

Fantastic experience: The most pleasant dental experience I have ever had. From the minute you walk in the door, the atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. I have never met a more pleasant group of people so willing to go out of their way to help and make you feel cared for! Everything was explained clearly every step of the way. The women at the front desk explained my insurance coverage and did all they could to help save me money. They even have a new patient special which was cheaper than using insurance. I am definitely choosing Water's Edge as my new dental practice!

Fantastic experience: I love this place! I have never been to a dental office where I felt this comfortable. I mean the whole staff is awesome and work so great together as one. Tina my hygienist is so gentle and her work is perfection. I remember my first day I went in with anxiety and 5 minutes with Tina I never had it again! And of course you can’t have a great running practice without a GREAT boss and super dentist! Kudos to you Dr. Bannan you are the best!

The office and the equipment is new. The office staff are friendly, kind and happy. The hygienist was fabulous. I commend her. I hadn't seen a dentist in 2 years so I really needed a deep clean. Dr. P is thorough and it was easy to understand the questions he answered about the work I may need in the future. I'm happy I found this office. I'm new to the area and it is always hard to get doctors and dentists. The technology there is top of the line. They used a panoramic x-ray machine to get a full view of my jaw and sinuses. They saved me a trip to the ear, nose and throat doctor! All the way around, excellent experience.

Fantastic experience: Amazing!!! I had a bad molar and I called and made a appointment with Waters Edge Dental. They had a appointment cancel before mine and got me in the next morning. After Jennifer took my X-rays Dr. Sean Bannan came in and took a look and discussed my options with me. I decided a crown was the way to go and to my luck they were able to get me in a few hours later. Genny and Dr. Sean Bannan we’re great they both explained every step and made sure I was okay and comfortable the whole time. Yesterday after leaving my mouth felt 100% better and I highly recommend this office. Fantastic experience: Moving from New Jersey. Developed toothache this week. This office is top notch!! From triage, receptionist, manager, dental hygienist and Dr.Kyle. They got me in in and found the problem. I will be transferring all my dental records from New Jersey to this wonderful office. Negative experience: I've been a patient for a while but it seems like every time I go for a procedure its a problem. Just because I had difficulty with the link they send me so I can pay for the appointment in advance and tried calling to make the payment, they told me I had to go to the office make the payment then call to set up the appointment!!! If I could give them 0 stars I would.

Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with Water’s Edge Dental for failing to exhibit the same respect for me as I have demonstrated for them. I am further disappointed that their policy attempted to bully me into accepting services that even the American Dental Association does not consider to be appropriate. Perhaps if the owners of the practice instituted policies that reflected the healthiest course of action for their patients instead of requiring services and additional costs that are unnecessary, they would no longer need to bully their patients by refusing to perform the service(s) for which they were scheduled. As a matter of courtesy and commitment to keep a scheduled appointment with Water’s Edge, I shortened my vacation at a location 556 miles away from the Water's Edge Dental Office. After traveling for 9 hours the day before in order to arrive at the office on time for my scheduled dental appointment, I was informed that my dentist was not present and that I would need to return on another occasion for him to perform a dental examination on me. Next, I attempted to proceed with my teeth cleaning but was told unless I agreed to services which I did not wish that the hygienist would refuse the services for which I had contracted. I was informed that it was the POLICY of the practice that all patients were required to have their teeth x-rayed on an annual basis. I informed the hygienist that I was in my 70's and that I had experienced only 2 cavities in my entire dental history, a fact that was substantiated by the x-rays they, themselves, took 1 year ago. According to the American Council on Science and Health: “It's the recommendation from the American Dental Association, in a report co-authored with the Department of Health and Human Services. "Therefore, a radiographic examination consisting of posterior bitewings is recommended at intervals of 24 to 36 months." In layman’s terms, although it is Water’s Edge Dental’s official policy that ALL patients MUST have annual x-rays, the dental profession says otherwise. “Annual preventive X-rays, called bitewings, for healthy dental patients are not necessary.”

Fantastic experience: New Patient at Waters Edge Dental and I MUST say the staff here makes you feel welcome and wonderful when coming in for visits. They have made my whole experience very pleasant and comfortable. I had my lower teeth removed and bottom denture placed. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: All the phenomenal reviews brought me into this office and it’s exactly what everyone else is saying… I can’t say enough good things about Waters Edge Dental Everyone is so kind and professional. The lady Michelle at the front desk is always so welcoming and sweet. I love how she says “How can I help you brighten your smile today?” Kelly who is Dr. Penlands assistant she is awesome I absolutely love her she’s very informative and goes over everything which makes you feel comfortable and I love because I am 3 months pregnant and worry about everything but they go above and beyond to make me feel comfortable that everything they are doing is safe and completely ok for baby. They truly care and it shows. Everyone in there office is absolutely wonderful. Dr. Penland is very efficient and gets the job done absolutely perfect!! I had to get an old crown taken off due to bad work done at another office before I came to Waters Edge Dental. Dr. Penland had to take the old crown off clean decay that got built up in there, re-packet it and completely redo a crown that was only a year in a half old. Absolutely ridiculous. Right? Thank you Dr. Penland for fixing me up!! He did an incredible job!! I highly highly recommend this office!!

Fantastic experience: In this day of dentistry if a root canal, extraction, dentures, etc is needed the dentist will usually refer you to a specialist. Dr Bannan does all these procedures himself there in his office. Upon my first visit he did a complete evaluation of every issue I had. Believe me I have been to many Dentist and have many difficult issues. Dr Bannan comes up with a plan to complete the project from start to finish. The best part of his plan is he does all the work there in his office. I have had just about everything. He takes the time to explain to me each procedure. He makes sure you feel no pain. I have been working with Dr Bannan and his associates for about a year now. I have a couple weeks to completion. His ultimate goal is perfection. His office is immaculate and his people are so kind are caring. I have no dental insurance so he worked out a comfortable plan for me to get all my work done. If you are looking for a Dentist with a 5 star practice give them a call!

Fantastic experience: first time going to the dentist and the experience was so amazing i’m now going back every couple of months. everyone was kind and amazing and treated me automatically in the best way possible as soon as i walked through the doors. from the ladies at the doors and the doctors and nurses who see you they automatically make you feel warm and welcome and comfortable even when they’re fishing around in your mouth. if your looking for a dentist who actually cares about you as there patient and cares about your dental treatment, i strongly advise you come to waters edge you won’t regret it :)

Positive experience: Wonderful, detailed and compassionate dentist! So happy I was referred to them after my old dentist did a lot of half butted work! I’d refer Waters Edge to anyone!

Negative experience: My tongue was cut in two places on my visit by the dentist at this office. I have had pain with the same tooth that has been worked on by this dentist at this office, by this dentist recommending a crown without a root-canal and me paying thousands of dollars it should have been a warning sign to me when my tongue was cut twice by the dentist at this location. Many revisits back for the same problem of pain and still no result and now today I am being told by this office staff that I will be billed for any further attempts to correct the errors/mistakes/misdiagnosis, because originally I was told if I spent thousands of dollars it will stop my pain at the time of my original visit for my original problem and my primary reason for seeing a dentist. I have a learn my lesson today that I will not accept bed professional advise to purchase and place a crown on a tooth that has not have a root canal perform first. These dentists strongly advise me, against me, getting a root-canal on this tooth before him placing this crown on this painful tooth. My mistake again was trusting this dentist’s professional judgment and rushing me in to spending thousands of dollars of quick and easy money for the dental clinic. My tooth is still in pain without any resolutions with the dentist telling me today in person that he is frustrated and does not know what is going on with my tooth still causing me pain. With all of my dental experience that was perform on my teeth in past the dentist knew or should have known what to do and how to do and not to Rush placing a crown on a tooth that is in pain without having a root-canal perform first. FOLLOW UP REVIEW I went to unnecessarily pain and suffering because of this dental office /clinic. I was miss diagnosed and given incorrect treatment that was applied without any referral to a specialist, when after multiple returns visits to this dental office/clinic with the same continued dental problem and this dental office/clinic had me, suffer me,needlessly for several weeks and still did not provide a referral to a specialist. I could no longer take the pain and suffering and I went to a un other dental office that referred me to a specialist. Specialist found that I needed a root canal procedure. I got the root canal procedure done and a new crown that took care of all my needles pain and suffering. The permanent crown that this former dental office place and charge me for lots of money for and incorrect procedure, that crown fell off within very short time period (less then 2 months) because incorrect attachment procedure. I am requesting a full refund from this dental office in order to try and settle this matter immediately.

Negative experience: Poor communication and misinformation. I had a dental emergency and was given a price over the phone for a specific tooth that needed a crown. The price I was quoted on the phone turned out to be over 50% less than the price I was charged. It was an emergency so I just paid it. Also the price that was quoted to me originally for the exam was one thing and then they tried to charge me more as I was leaving I complained so they charged me less for that. A few days later the temporary crown came out. Chaotic and noisy---- two dentist flitting from room to room to handle multiple patients simultaneously. Loud talking loud music. They reluctantly turned down the music when I complained. Rapport between dentist and assistant was uncomfortably strained. The worst dental experience I've had.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Bannon and his team were wonderful from the moment I scheduled the appointment to the day of. The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. As this was my first appointment with the practice, it was the most detailed and thorough exam I have had. The office staff was very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable.

Fantastic experience: My husband went to the dentist with a toothache and they informed him that his tooth needed to be pulled, but he would have to wait 4 weeks for the next available appointment. He was in a lot of pain and needed to get the tooth pulled before we left for vacation the following week. He reached out to Water’s Edge and Dr. Bannon and his assistant Lauren got him in immediately and took care of pulling the tooth so he was able to go on vacation without any pain. We were both very grateful for their help.
