Positive experience: I love the lady at the front desk! She was so helpful. The doctor was nice but she just seemed to rush through everything and didn’t even take the time to figure out my history or ask me questions about my past dental history. Fantastic experience: The receptionist very sweet,the doc.Debra pho,is great ,and knows her work . She is very caring! I had a crown come off and was managed urgently and quite pleasantly. I would recommend this place definitely for crowns, and other dental works. Today I met Dr.Lee very polite and knowledgeable .

Negative experience: I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was a very disappointing experience. My crown was placed three times and came off each time, costing me multiple days off work with no resolution. Additionally, the main doctor was only present at the first visit and unavailable afterward. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this office.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with Waterside Dental right now. They have restricted their open hours to three days a week and are randomly changing appointments to try to cram all the patients into a few days, two days of which I cannot schedule because I have standing appointments on those days already. Therefore, I’m going to have to change dentists. I’m sorry to be leaving, but they’ve left me with no choice. Good bye, Waterside Dental.

Negative experience: Just wanted to be honest and real. I recently got a crown on my [tooth], and unfortunately, it's been a nightmare. From day one, the tooth has been extremely painful and sensitive to hot, cold, and even air. I've been dealing with throbbing pain that wakes me up at night, and over-the-counter pain meds barely help. Even though I got it fixed and adjusted, the pain persists, and they said I might need to get a root canal [then I have to pay more, right?]. This has disrupted my daily life as an office worker—no more hot coffee or enjoying meals without wincing. I'm hoping for a resolution soon, but right now, I wouldn't recommend it based on this experience. And I don't want to do anything painful. Or I may have to carry my pain forever. I had recommended my sister went there but she told will never go back anymore. They were good back then that's why i recommended my sister.

Fantastic experience: I was outsourced by VA dental here, and I had to travel a bit to get here. I live in Iowa Colony and Waterside dental is in Richmond off the Grand Parkway. Was well worth my Drive here. Awesome Dentist and staff. Very courteous and polite. 8-27-24. Update. Just finished up with the treatment plan of having my crowns done. I love Dr. Pham and her team. 6-2-25 Extremely loving all that Dr. Pham and her crew do for this veteran. Great care and compassion. 3-10-26 Finally got to get back in to have work VA approved. Well, the assistant asked me what tooth do you think we are talking about? I pointed to the gap where a prior crown was twice. He said no, the one next to it. I said back in the first week of July, Dr Pham sent a request to VA about the issue with not enough tooth to hold a crown anymore, that she suggested either an implant or something different at VA requests. He said he would go up front and ask Judy who deals with front end responsibilities and sending these requests to VA since I was outsourced. He came back and said your right. Now, more impressions taken, and still waiting to get this RESOLVED. 4-20-26 Have a new Dentist now, Dr. Lee. She is very compassionate and caring. Explains everything in a concise way that I understand. Also, Judy who is the front desk Guru, is amazing. I'm a retired disabled veteran and I chose Waterside as the outsource dentist since it takes so long between appointments at the VA Dental. Judy stays on top of getting the proper documentation to get additional work approved. I give her a resounding 10 out of 10. Thank you Judy, your awesome.

Negative experience: Honestly, I was disappointed. I scheduled an initial exam and cleaning, as I have always done with my dentist. All I got was an initial. I was told I needed to come back for a cleaning. I don’t want to spend an hour driving to a dentist. Two hours at the appointment and another hour drive back home, only to do it all over again for a cleaning. Not to mention, I’d have to do the same thing for my kid, who also had an appointment. I had to given my insurance info three times, only to be asked for it yet again. I’ll be going to another dental office. Update: I have since seen another dentist after posting this review. The treatment plan given by waterside was drastically difference. For example, I was told that my daughter needed to have a root canal that she needed to visit another dentist, the surgeon in order to assess this. The new Dentist stated that that was not the case, and it was simply something that needed to be watched as a tooth was not yet developed. For myself, I was told that I should get 3 crowns. To my surprise, the current dentist said everything is fine. I asked, “are you sure”? She stated, “yes”. There was nothing different that would warrant me getting crowns. VERY DISAPPOINTED! I must say that I was warned .

Negative experience: I usually don’t write negative reviews, but I feel ethically obligated to share my experience. I went in for a routine exam, X-rays, and cleaning all 100% covered by my insurance. The visit was rushed, and I was the only patient. Dr. Nawar Aljanabi barely examined my mouth and barely looked at my X-rays. I'm very conscientious about my dental hygiene. I had to specifically ask about gingivitis, plaque, tartar, and other issues, and her response was simply, “everything looks fine.” I’ve struggled with dental issues my whole life and have never been told this by any dentist, endodontist, or periodontist. The visit focused on cosmetic dentistry instead. At checkout, the receptionist repeatedly pressured me to apply for CareCredit. She insisted I provide my email address and claimed that declining would not affect my credit score. When I refused, the tone changed, and I felt dismissed. I overheard the office manager speaking to a patient on the phone in an unkind tone. A few weeks later, I received a bill, so I called the office. The office manager, J***, was not receptive to my questions and abruptly said, “That’s all,” before hanging up on me. Yes, she really hung up on me. I did not trust the exam, so I paid out of pocket money I truly do not have to see another dentist. That dentist performed a thorough evaluation and found a suspicious growth under my tongue that had been missed. They also discovered three small cracks in old fillings that could eventually require root canals. I did not check individual reviews and assumed this place was good since it had over 400 reviews. I wish I had checked before coming here.

Negative experience: They butchered my wisdom tooth removal. They tried to remove all four at once. Pushed my appointment back by 4 hours when i walked in at 2:30 and did not see me until after the office closed at 6:30. I was in severe pain, as they did not administer the shots correctly. The doctor was extremely rude and dismissive. They routinely did not want to give me pain meds from their mishandling of my tooth removal. They then told my husband not to worry about the bill after we did the CareCredit card, but they have not removed the charge despite saying not to worry that they would remove the charge on the care credit. My husband is now having to deliver papers to them and having to fight with them to fix their mistake. DO NOT GO HERE.

Negative experience: Office manager said i have to pay upfront all the money not covered by insurance. She took 420 dollars for my deep cleaning and then I received a bill for $220 dollars. She said insurance didn’t pay this amount and i have to pay that. I called the insurance company and they said they paid the full amount and i am still getting the unpaid bill invoices from them.

Negative experience: I scheduled an appointment for cleaning. Howeever, they do the x-rays and then the doctor checks in for only less then 5 minutes and then redirect you to the front office for next appointment with the hygenist! This makes no sene that they are splitting up pateient's time. At the same time, they also DO NOT Clean. Instead they manuever you to fall in the tap of getting n expensive treatment done which you might not need anyways! BUT THEY WOULD DENY TO PROVIDE SIMPLE CLEANING! I would recommend this place as an insurance scam! I made my co-pay and I DO NOT WANT ANY OTHER UNSERVICED BILLS AS I HAVE READ IN THE FORMER REVIEWS.

Fantastic experience: The office manager was amazing. Shermaine the dental assistant was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Phan, what can I say, professional and efficient. Positive experience: Certainly, no time is wasted. A new patient’s X-rays and examination can be completed in 30 minutes or less. However, I have some reservations about this approach. The dentist could have been more attentive and inquired about my reasons for choosing their practice or who recommended me. In general, it appears that this is the norm in today’s dental industry, as I have been a patient of my previous dentist for over 25 years.

Negative experience: I really hate leaving negative Google reviews but this place is definitely a no go. I came in about a month ago just for a first time check in and all they did was take x-rays of my teeth. The dentist only examined my teeth for literally less than a minute and sent me back to the front. While I was waiting to see if I had anything to pay they called me up finally to sign some papers to do a cleaning. The receptionist told me that it seems like the hygienist is free and she was going to see if I can do a cleaning then vs scheduling another appointment. After she spoke with the hygienist, the hygienist said she was occupied and couldn’t take me. Was that the truth? How is she now occupied when her schedule shows clear? Asked them before leaving just to make sure if I owed anything and they said no since all I did was x-rays which was covered by insurance. A day later, I get a call from collections saying I owe $300. Called office and said to ignore and I don’t owe anything. Then they billed my insurance for a cleaning that NEVER TOOK PLACE IN THEIR OFFICE. Literally insurance fraud. It is a month in a half later and they are stating that I owe them now $100 when x-rays are covered by my insurance. I regret coming to this establishment. Listen to the reviews you see and save yourself the headache. You can tell all they want is the money that comes along with each patient and they will bill your insurance company without even doing the procedure.

Negative experience: I would NOT recommend going here unless you have no other choices. Dark, clammy… not child friendly at all. Brought my kids here and they couldn’t even reach the X-ray machine. For my appointment, I had to go TWICE in the same day because the dentist and dental hygienists have a different schedule. So weird! We are switching dental plans just so we don’t have to go here anymore.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE. This is the most unprofessional, disorganized dental office I’ve ever dealt with. They canceled my cleaning three times in a row, each time claiming the hygienist was “out of the office.” Then, as if that wasn’t ridiculous enough, they rescheduled me for Thanksgiving — a day I clearly pointed out the office would probably be closed. When I mentioned that concern, the woman on the phone actually said she “wasn’t sure.” How does a dental office not know if they’re open on a major holiday? The communication is pathetic, the staff clearly doesn’t care, and the customer service is beyond useless. Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else.

Negative experience: My first time experience here was terrible. I went in for a cleaning, and the girl who took my X-ray did not do a good job with her care. After expressing that the mouthpiece kept digging into my gum and mouth, she persisted on finishing the x-ray, ignored me and caused abrasions in my mouth. After several times, I had to stop the process. She conveyed with the front desk receptionist that I did not want to complete the process, and receptionist suggested next time to ask for a pediatric size mouthpiece for x-ray. I never experienced this problem in my previous dental experiences. Also, the waiting was long. And I could hear personal phone calls in the office. This place lacks patience, compassion, and professionalism.

Negative experience: Went in to do a cleaning and dr would not clean my teeth unless I pay 280 bucks for a deep cleaning. Oh by the way this is on insurance and I get 2 free cleanings a year. Positive experience: My experience was not impressive. While waiting in Libby, I hear someone call my name. I was getting my things together,got up towards the door, found no one there and the door closing. I look around the corner and there is a young lady, speaking fast and not clear. Takes images on a machine. Then she asks me to follow her, but I have to move out of her way for her to pass. I go into exam room and tells me more X-rays are needed. She " shoves" a large object in my mouth,bite here.....one minute.... Bite here..... On and on. She looses her patience as my mouth is small and mouth piecendid not fit. Dr. Arrives. Gave me impression she wants to take care of a cleaning before starting to address the problem areas. States I need a " treat". Honestly, I do not trust her. I will not be going back. Gives me the impression they care about money, not the patient.

Negative experience: I’ve been coming here for over 3 years, and I’m so disappointed by how I was treated and lied to - I went in for a deep cleaning on my bottom teeth ONLY and signed paperwork agreeing to the cost for just that. A month later, I was blindsided by a bill from a third-party collections agency for over $300. When I called my insurance, we found out the office billed for both top and bottom teeth — which is completely false. I only had the bottom done, and I know that because I was literally in the chair. When I called the office to get it corrected, I was told “that’s what the notes say” and that they don’t even handle billing anymore. So not only was I incorrectly charged, but no one is taking responsibility or helping me resolve it. This has been incredibly frustrating, especially as a loyal patient who trusted this office for years. It’s unacceptable to be billed for services I didn’t receive and then left to deal with collections on my own. If you choose to come here, please be cautious. Double-check every procedure, ask for copies of everything, and don’t assume you’re being charged fairly.

Negative experience: The worst dental visit of my life. The entire staff was silent—no greetings, no questions, no explanations. The dentist barely spoke to me: just “open your mouth” and “close it.” Her entire interaction lasted 30 seconds, and she was about to leave the room when I had to stop her to ask if she could at least smooth the edge of my broken tooth, which was cutting into my cheek. Only then did she give me one more minute of her time. I’ve never had such a brief, cold, and unhelpful appointment—especially for $450. I would never recommend this place to anyone

Negative experience: This place is horrible; they will exaggerate your problems and make you pay for expensive treatments. And I mean expensive. Do not go here if you have a weak heart and do not want to be scammed. They will tell you that you have paid for everything, but will continuously send you bills that you "supposedly" paid for. They ask for hefty amounts, but the service isn't even up to par. You will see many reviews on insurance issues for a reason.
