Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff. Thorough examination. Explained everything clearly. Deep cleaning went well. Very pleased.

Negative experience: I felt like the doctor didn't listen to a word I said. I had problems with a couple of chipped teeth (2) which were causing me quite a lot of pain as it was causing the interior of my mouth to SHRED! I asked for at least one of those to be filed down and she refused on the grounds that because I said I couldn't afford the 2 thousand dollar root-canal and crown. She was angry and belligerent which made me feel, (as I said) like I wasn't being heard and wasn't worth her time. That's so wrong in SO many ways.

Negative experience: can confirm, they dont answer phones and they dont call back when you leave a message. dont know what the deal is with this. really weird

Fantastic experience: Quality and professional service provided by Dr. Mazan and his friendly staff. Every procedure I’ve had done over the years has been top notch. I would highly recommend this practice. In my career, I moved frequently. Finding a quality dental practice was challenging. I am fortunate to have found Bright Now.

Bright Now fixed me right up and continues working with me to fix the mess I made. They are compassionate and professional and I was amazed at what they could do all under one roof.

Negative experience: Hate to write this but I was a long time client, over 10 years and when there was office turnover I tried calling every 3 months for 2 years straight, no one returned calls and when I got on the line at times they said they would call back to reschedule. Finally, after visiting in person I scheduled an appt and on the day of, waited over an hour to be taken to clinic despite showing 20 minutes early. Very dissatisfied with my experience and will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: My family has been going for a few years and we are very pleased. With new insurance we now have option of going somewhere closer but we're sticking with these guys. Friendly, competent, receptionists, techs and dentists. Dr. Mazin is super personable and good at what he does. Lauren, one of the hygienists, is very thorough and clearly cares about the quality of her work. The receptionists are a very friendly, helpful bunch!

Negative experience: I'm so disappointed. I was just trying to get a dental cleaning and it's been a 4 month endeavor. When you reach the point where you have to actually drive to the dental facility to get a hold of anyone, that's not right. My calls have been constantly ignored, voicemails are never followed up on, when I did get through via phone, they'd put me on hold for over 20 mins, I'd call back, and they'd act like I had just called... I was nothing but nice to the staff so I really don't get it. I had an appointment scheduled for three months later that they never called me to let me know my referral still hadn't gone through. I went out of my way to help them with the referral issue as well. This list goes on. I don't even know if they will be willing to give me my x-rays when I get to a new dentist... I'm sick with disappointment with the staff here and there's no telling what the quality of dental work is like if this is the front desk. I genuinely don't know how they have positive reviews after my experience with them, they must be fake accounts.

Negative experience: Always too busy to make a convenient appointment. They always try to upsell me on things my insurance won’t pay for and they always bill more than the insurance covers. Always feel rushed in an appointment. This last visit they called me back 20 minutes late. Their response was someone was to call me yesterday & move my appointment back 20 minutes. No one called. The only thing they ever get right is to bill me. 80% of the time they want to move my already scheduled appointment. Customer service is lousy. You are lucky if you see the dentist for 2 minutes. Time to go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Dr Mazin was really nice not over selling work that I needed on my crown. He seemed to enjoy talking to me while waiting for something to cement which most dentists don’t seem to see you as a person just as a set of teeth. . They all did a good job with my crown and didn’t cause undue discomfort. They are really busy for cleaning and you have to schedule it way, way in advance.

Positive experience: I have been going to this location/practice for at least 20 years (with a break of a couple years where I had other insurance they did not take). Up until recently everything has been great. I had gum disease and was treated for periodontal disease years ago here. It was stressed to me how important to have regular cleanings...2 times a year. I have been very diligent. When I went to the other practice each time I went they told me I had "excellent oral hygiene". My issue with Britenow: actually getting an appointment for a cleaning. I was seen last June. Since covid there has always been some kind of reason given by them on why it is so hard to get in. Which I do understand...to a point. Last year, I waited and waited fir my appointment. The day of they called me and canceled due to the hygienist was ill. Ok I still understand. I called back to reschedule and was told it would be 3 months. I asked why since I had already waited 3 months why would I not be priority and moved ahead of the people who scheduled after me but I missed my appointment because they were sick. They were able to accommodate me thankfully which was great and I went in same day (they had a cancelation). Fast forward...June 2025. After my cleaning I tried to make my next appointment to be proactive. They told me they don't schedule out that far in advance and to call a little closer to the time to be seen. So I waited till early October to schedule a December cleaning. I was told they had nothing till after the first of the year. Ok.thats crazy. Same blurb about lack of hygienists. So I decided to make sure everything was OK with my insurance ce after enrollment before making a decision and was actually thinking of going to a fmdigmffeeent dentist...even to the point of choosing one and having the number in my phone. One last chance Brightnow-I received a text reminder from Brightnow for being due for my cleaning. I thought "oh ok maybe I'll try again" I called to make a cleaning appointment...December 8, 2025. They tell me they can't get me in till October 2026. That is missing 2 cleanings for a former periodontal patient! I told them I was going to have to go somewhere else. They seemed just fine with that. I called the other office that takes my insurance I had been looking into. Was seen in a half hour (they had a cancelation) and my next six month scheduled for July. I'm so disappointed with Brightnow at this point.

Negative experience: Although Dr. Mazin is great, I’m only giving 2 stars because they can’t ever accommodate in a reasonable time for cleanings. They said they lost a hygienist in early 2025- I have been calling since February to get our family in for cleanings but they told me to call back in May. I called in May and then said they still don’t have anyone and couldn’t even schedule to call back end of June. I called in June and they said now end of August and they wouldn’t even be scheduling until next year. This seems negligent to not even leave openings for cleanings- and leaves room for problems to start. Our insurance allows 6 cleanings per year but they can’t even get us in for one! For that reason, I don’t recommend.

Fantastic experience: I am so happy to find Bright Now for my tooth problem. The receptionist was smiling so sweet when I had my first appointment! The staff who took the x-ray for my tooth was very nice! Then the dentist came to take care my tooth complaint. He was patient to ask me what problems with my tooth and explained to me that my tooth had no cavity or inflammation. I was overjoyed that I didn’t have to get root canal or cavity filling. I had my problem solved only with $59, because they have $59 Exams and Digital X-Ray for new cash patients only! This dental visit took away my worries about my tooth health! Love it!❤️

Fantastic experience: Referral for a root canal and then a new crown - clearly no fun, but all went much more smoothly than I could have imagined and ended well.

Negative experience: World class time wasters! They gave me an appointment on a Friday. They even sent multiple confirmation text messages. I arrived there with my kids and got there 10 minutes early. Turns out, they are closed every Friday!?!?!

Fantastic experience: The bottle line is Mark is an outstanding dentist with a great eye for detail. His wisdom and bedside manner put him top in his class! The whole staff is exceptional. Brandy is an awesome assistant who makes the best temporary crowns money can buy :-) The warm reception that the office provides makes the hour drive well worth it!

Positive experience: Everyone in this office is very nice, and Dr. Pollack seems very good. Unfortunately, she is only available on Tuesdays (which is why I am only giving 4 stars), so the scheduling just didn't work out for me and I had to find a new periodonist, as I needed my appointments to fall on days I was off work. Just a heads-up...I had a few 8a appointments, but I don't think she ever arrived before 8:05-8:10. Only a big deal if you're schedule is tight. One time I had a late afternoon appointment and was stuck in a traffic jam trying to get there, and they were very accommodating and still saw me.

Fantastic experience: I had the most AMAZING experience with Bright Now! Dental & Orthodontics in Frederick, MD. ALL of the people that I interacted with were incredibly nice and patient from the moment I walked in the door. Cameron (at the front desk) is SO sweet and welcoming. Alexis, is the hygienist that worked on my teeth and she is AMAZING, smart and thorough! EVERYTHING that she said regarding my teeth was the truth! I was looked at by Dr. Bhinder and another wonderful staff member (Brandy or Barb) that made me again, feel at ease while getting x rayed. Lauren is another hygienist that saw me and she was kind and humble as well. If anyone has high anxiety about your teeth, I highly recommend this place to become your forever dental home. The people and experience was PHENOMENAL!

Negative experience: Never even think to come to this place. Been asking and calling many times about the bill and they never even pay attention to it. They will charge you and never even give you the details. My tooth was painful after the procedure. The front desk will let you wait like 2hrs with —— answering machine ….oh my! I regret coming to this place. But I hope they will improve The answering machine said sorry for the short delay. It should be sorry for the long day delay I can give actually zero or -100 reviews

Negative experience: Ever since I started with Bright Now (the two offices in Frederick), there have been nothing but problems. First, trying to get an appointment for a standard cleaning has been a royal pain. "We can maybe fit you in 6 months from now." I get that since covid, staffing is way down, but still. Then, once I had an appt and waited months for a cleaning, they canceled on me, claiming to have left a message. It's odd, but when you have an appt scheduled with them, you get several texts (texts, not messages) reminding you about the appt. However, when they cancel your appt, you get one message left by voice? Still, we rescheduled. Two months later, I went to my cleaning appt, and the hygienist told me I'd been scheduled for scaling and root planing. We had not. On my initial check up, Bright Now docs -recommended- scaling and root planing, but we absolutely did not agree to that procedure. It was hundreds of dollars, even with insurance help. I told the hygienist as much and told her we'd scheduled for a normal cleaning (no fault of hers. As it turns out, she was a temp and quite good at her job), so she went to check if they could do that. Here's the crazy thing: they said they would do the regular cleaning, but I would not be able to schedule ANY more appointments until I had the scaling/root planing procedure. I wasn't so much angry as I was perplexed. The Bright Now sales manager came in, and clarified that even if it meant losing me as a patient, they would not schedule future cleanings if I didn't have the costly procedure done. In addition, the main dentist there (don't remember his name, but he was around 50ish) made an inappropriate comment about a female hygienist who'd walked by. "She's easy on the eyes, isn't she?" he asked. I won't be going back.

Negative experience: Do not go here. They will bill you more than you owe, not offer base level benefits to not match your plan (though contracted to do so), then when you call because they billed for services denied as inclusive on your eob, they tell you you should've read better and hang up on you. Barbara is terrible to speak to and refused to put the office manager on the phone. This place owes me over $400 for their fraudulent practices.

Negative experience: I went to the Thomas Johnson drive office. The staff was very nice but the dentist himself was rude and didn't treat you with respect since I didn't have enough money to fix everything wrong with my teeth.

Positive experience: Just frustrated with how communication has been happening. Called on Friday during business hours, left a voicemail. On Monday, I never got a call back so I called at 3:25 and I've been on hold for an hour now. I understand having to wait, but an hour (soon to be more) on hold is a little extreme. Especially when the receptionist spoke so quickly and softly I never even comprehended what she said. Team is good, but I'm really not sure what's happening with communication.

Positive experience: Not as efficient and timely with services and time as most dental offices are. Requires too many visits for services that are normally done all within the same visit, but the staff members are professional and nice.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Bright Now! Dental & Orthodontics for many, many years. Dr. Mazin is my dentist, and he is one of the best doctors I have ever had. I highly recommend him to take care of your teeth. Alexa does super gentle cleaning prior to seeing Dr. Mazin.

Negative experience: Beware! They change the billing codes after you get out of the office and you might end up paying more money than what you were initially told. I was a patient there about a year ago. I had to get my top wisdom teeth removed. While there I gave my insurance card, received the quote and paid for everything there out of pocket for what I was told insurance would not cover. The day after the surgery I received a call from their office who told me they did not put the correct codes for what I paid and that I actually owed more money. So the day after surgery I am paying additional money because of their error. I paid It over the phone. 6 months down the road I start receiving calls because apparently they had been trying to reach me through mail but put my address wrong in the system. However, now I'm supposed to have been getting a bill from them saying I owe more money again, another $135 because insurance didn't cover everything that they submitted after changing the code even though I had already paid what they told me I would need to pay out of pocket the day after surgery. I explained to them that I don't understand how I am owing even more money when I have already paid twice to cover my portion and should not be made to pay more because of their error. It took forever to receive an itemized billing statement that still was confusing as to why I owed more money. Eventually I admit I did give up on taking their calls because I couldn't never get enyone on the phone when I called back because they always called while at work and no one seemed to be able to actually answer my questions and i refused to pay until my questions were actually answered. Now they are sending my "debt" that they created due to their error to collections and I guess I need to pay it to avoid this from happening. Long story short, just find another dentist this experience was absolutely ridiculous. Avoid the headache and financial issues if you can

Negative experience: They have cancelled on us 3 times all at the last minute. They are crazy slow once you’re there so you need to take extra time off from work. And they never answer the phone when you call. Overall experience has been very poor. We will definitely be looking for a new dentist!

Fantastic experience: Dentists are never fun. I was hesitant about going here after the reviews. However, it was a great experience. I did have to wait about 20mins past an appointment time once, but like anywhere sometimes other appointments don't go to plan and take more time. They are friendly and helpful. Alexys is the best I have ever had, clean my teeth. Shubhangi was helpful and advised me on options for concerns I had. Best thing is they DON'T push any procedures or products on you, just give you the information and option.

Negative experience: I saw Dr. Mazan and two hygienists today for a basic cleaning as a new patient. They had me there for two hours which I thought was excessive but I assumed they were being thorough. Dr. Mazan and two hygienists both remarked that my teeth were unproblematic and well cared for. At the end of all this, instead of a cleaning I was given a bill estimate of $2,079 for "Deep gum cleaning". They explained that if I declined these unnecessary procedures, I'd be dropped as a patient. I asked if I could still have the basic cleaning I was there for, and they said sure but it can't be done today. When I went to schedule it with the receptionist, she said the first available cleaning appointment was 10 months out. BUT, if I paid the $2,079 and got the advanced procedures, I'd be seen immediately and it would include a cleaning. This is shameful. Bright Now's policies are HARMING patients. Please revisit your Hippocratic oaths!

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars, I would. If you are scheduled for a cleaning, make sure to be ready for them to cancel on you the day of, even as late as an hour before your scheduled time! When you call to reschedule, make sure you know what you are doing in six months' time, because they only schedule 6 months in advance. You then will go a whole year and a half between cleanings (if you can actually get an appointment you want, and aren't cancelled on that date!). Horribly unprofessional. Never going back.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mazin has been my dentist for about 20 years. I live in Carroll County, so it’s a trek to get to his office in Frederick, but I tried to find a dentist closer to home and didn’t like them as much. He is kind, friendly, funny, and a whiz at doing difficult crowns. All the staff is cheerful and helpful. It’s wonderful to have a long-time dentist where I feel comfortable and know I will always get great service.

Negative experience: Pushing unnecessary procedures that insurance doesn’t cover. Then will book you appointments that they cancel and don’t let you know. All because you don’t want what they are pushing. I will say that the dentist Dr Mazin is great.

Positive experience: I was completely surprised at how little my teeth were actually cleaned.. I’m used to going in and having the high pressure spray cleaner thing and some time spent on cleaning my teeth was not like that at all.

Positive experience: The worst office! I see the orthodontist over across town and no issues but this regular dental office is a nightmare. THEY canceled my cleaning appointment less than 24hrs saying that the hygienist would be out for surgery. I know dang well that they knew this way before my appointment! Patients can’t cancel less than 24hrs out but they can cancel patients. They then tell me that they won’t have any cleaning appointments until October!!! Mind you, my appointment that they canceled abruptly was in May! So today I call because the date they gave me in October won’t work. I have to work around my vacay schedule at work so this is June and I call for a November appointment. “We have no appointments until February 2024! Unreal! You have all these patients and only ONE hygienist?? Take my advice and find a better dentist for dental cleanings. The orthodontist is great, but the general dentist office is awful.

Fantastic experience: I had to go in for a scaling. I was dreading it with a capital D! I am not a fan of dentists to say the least. The expierience was not as I thought. The hygenist (Valarie) was great and put me at ease, she explained everything as we went. I felt so confident in her abilities that it made me feel better. I have to go back for the second half and am feeling so much better and not worried at all! Thanks so much Val! -Michelle

Fantastic experience: I haven’t been to the dentist in a while, now I’m back and very pleased with the service I have been receiving! Dr Mazin couldn’t be more thorough checking my teeth!! His two assistants that I have seen have been very nice and accommodating! I’m so glad I have started back to getting my teeth where they need to be!! Thank you for your very professional service!!
