Experiencia fantástica: Castor has seen Dr. Burke for a couple of years now. He appreciates every hygienist he’s ever had and Dr. Burke’s gentleness. He’s honest with me and my son on how to best take care of his teeth. We’d never want to go to another dentist!

Experiencia negativa: First, I would like to acknowledge the one positive aspect of our visit: every staff member we interacted with, with the exception of the doctor, was incredibly kind, welcoming, helpful, and compassionate. My daughter was scheduled for wisdom teeth removal and we were referred to this office by her orthodontist, who advised that she may likely only need two teeth removed because the other two seemed to have room. When the office for Dr. Anderson called to confirm the appointment, I asked whether it would be possible to remove only the two teeth. The receptionist responded that this was a great question for the doctor and that it would be addressed during the consultation approximately 15 minutes prior to the scheduled procedure. On the morning of the appointment, I arrived with my very anxious 16-year-old daughter. We were brought into the procedure room for the consultation. While the staff remained extremely friendly and professional, the situation changed shortly after the surgeon entered. After introductions, I asked about the possibility of removing only two wisdom teeth. During his response, the doctor stated that he didn’t care how many teeth we chose to remove because it was entirely our decision. He then remarked that it didn’t matter to him because he was “going golfing later,” while mimicking a golf swing. He proceeded to explain the general reasons why wisdom teeth are often removed, even when there appears to be sufficient room for them. However, this explanation did not directly address my specific question regarding whether there was adequate room for my daughters teeth. After several minutes of explanation, my original question had still not been answered. I politely asked again whether my daughter’s teeth actually had enough room. His response was, “Do you understand English?!” I was stunned. Not only was the comment inappropriate, but it was completely unprofessional. I could have just as easily asked him the same question, since he had never directly answered mine regarding the space in my daughters mouth. I responded that I absolutely understood everything he had said. He then offered a generic apology, stating, “sorry for being flippant.” At this point, I turned to my daughter and asked what she would like to do. Tearfully, she said she thought she would just proceed with removing all four teeth. I again asked “Do you want to do this?” The doctor then said, “If we don’t like each other, then maybe we shouldn’t proceed,” which I agreed with, and so we decided to leave. I was shocked by the way I was spoken to. More importantly, I was disappointed that the doctor created an environment that left my 16-year-old daughter so uncomfortable and upset that she was brought to tears. A simple answer such as, “Yes, there appears to be enough room,” or, “No, there does not appear to be enough room,” followed by his professional recommendation and explanation of any associated risks, would have fully addressed my question. Instead, the conversation became unnecessarily confrontational. While I understand that everyone can have difficult days, the tone, dismissiveness and behavior we experienced were unacceptable. As a result, we will not be returning or recommending to this provider. I will also be informing our orthodontist, who made the referral, in the hope that they are aware of our experience in case this reflects a broader pattern rather than an isolated incident.

Experiencia fantástica: The front desk was professional, welcoming and so kind. The two women made my daughter and us parents feel so comfortable. The hygienist completing the intake was very thorough in explaining the plan of care and post procedure education. The doctor was very patient and kind helping my daughter feel comfortable even though she was extremely nervous. The assistant that was at the chair side during the procedure comforted my daughter with kindness and heartfelt care. The entire process was smooth and professional. Thank you for the exceptional experience! 5 Star!!!

Experiencia negativa: Received a call last week about an upcoming appointment. The person calling confirmed the time and asked for updated insurance, when I said I would get it over to them, they became extremely rude and demanded it then as the insurance team needed time to call on it. When I said I needed to get back to them as I didn’t have it on me, she again demanded it. I’m not sure why the rudeness when this is the first call I received and this was in the middle of a work day. Secondly, how is this office so behind times that they do not have automated eligibility checks with the immense amount of software available. Unfortunately, I am forced to take the kids here but I would not suggest anyone else does.

Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic service. My kids have been coming to children’s dentistry since his baby teeth came in so it’s been 10 years for my oldest and 8 for my youngest. Dental care service is great they ease the kids into the visits and help them grow comfortable as they grow up. Early mornings appointments are convenient and I can always schedule my boys together.

She has struggled a lot; so it was amazing to have a positive experience for once! Apparently children’s dentists are better than adult ones for kids :)

Experiencia negativa: The office manager is pleasant—until there’s an issue. Then, not so much. I was charged $75 for nitrous oxide (laughing gas) during my son’s dental visit without being told it was an additional fee. I asked before paying and was told it was “part of the treatment,” which implied it was included—not something extra. When I called to discuss the charge, I got absolutely nowhere. I was told I “should have known” because of a piece of paper (treatment plan) handed to me months ago while I was managing three kids in the office. No one ever clearly communicated this would be a separate charge. I’m sure the response to this review will try to shift blame onto me—but I genuinely tried to work this out over the phone and was met with zero understanding or accountability. Just deflection. Sounds good. I’ll be sure to let everyone I know hear about how dishonest and unhelpful this practice was. We won’t be back.
