The dental assistant who took my X-rays was not only an absolute sweetheart, but also extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions with confidence. The dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth was incredibly detail-oriented and attentive, consistently checking in with me throughout the entire process to make sure I was comfortable. The dentist then completed my final evaluation and was beyond welcoming, honest, and thorough. What impressed me most was how organized and seamless the entire experience was. From the text message appointment confirmations and quick check-in, to promptly verifying my insurance coverage and delivering satisfactory results at the end, everything was handled flawlessly. I can confidently say I’ve found my new dental home! I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a trustworthy, clean, knowledgeable, and well-organized dental practice. Truly a phenomenal experience!

Dental assistant was personable, kind and caring, and immediately put my wife at ease. Dr. Carrao is a wonderful dentist. Took his time, explained everything, and during an hour long procedure, not one ounce of pain…she didn’t even feel the Novocain. Knowledgeable, experienced, great sense of humor, and most important…GENTLE!!! Great Expressions Dental in Island is the perfect team!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I lost a bit of my filling. I went in to get it refilled and the doctor told me not to refill it yet and buy an OTC guard. What a consultative approach - they made no money off of me. I trust my doctor!

Experiencia negativa: This practice is operated by a general dentist so beware of him suggesting treatments that shouldn't be done because he hopes to get paid instead. Their billing practices are shady. They will pressure you to attain treatments before being referred to a specialist, along with attempting to force you to pay the full price of something that was never done. The staff here are disappointing. Not only did it feel rushed when I saw the dentist, but the front desk receptionist and whoever else I spoke to on the phone are rude. They will pretend to be nice to set up an appointment, but the moment you ask a question, they can't answer it or will answer it with an attitude. They do not handle things professionally. Patients should feel comfortable asking questions about their healthcare. They shouldn't be met with defensiveness or an attitude to pressure you to start a procedure that shouldn't have began in the first place (if they actually cared for their patients). I unfortunately referred my partner here and deeply regret doing so. Rather than addressing concerns in writing and responding to anything important, the office will try to add random charges for procedures that were neither performed nor appropriate. You can't retaliate against patients for being honest. My teeth are in great condition because I choose GOOD providers who are responsive TRANSPARENT, and SKILLED/KNOWLEDGEABLE. My previous dentists never had an issue addressing any questions I had, and they never suggested anything that would cause even more pain. Their front desk staff were also genuinely friendly and helpful... unlike the staff here. Also, when someone is consistently in pain each visit and it doesn't click that you should stop doing what you are doing, do you care about your patients or do you care about the money? The lack of accountability is concerning. No thank you! The "5 star reviews" are misleading. Most likely influenced by these businesses who pressure patients to leave a review. Gross. Do yourself a favor and find a good dentist office that you can trust. It's not this one.

Experiencia negativa: What an awful experience I had today @ Great Expressions in Island Park NY. I have been an established patient for (2) years paying whatever I was told to pay after insurance for each visit at the time of the visit. Today in my haste, to make sure I was on time I left without my checkbook as this office has chosen to incur the 3% service charge that Merchant Services charges businesses for the convenience of credit cards and they pass it off to their patients. When I explained that I would go next door to the bank (Chase) and get cash I was told it had closed, so the next nearest location was in Oceanside NY, several miles away and the office wanted me to sign a paper stating what amount was due and that they would wait for me to do the appointment. Are you kidding me?? What kind of oath was taken by Dr. Thomas Corrao, to have his monetary fee supersede an important dental procedure that was suggested by him to have corrected, to not trust that I would come back and pay, but this office also required payment in full for a crown procedure ( that has not been performed or finished yet) as it requires two separate appointments. I will do my best to educate any/all people to this misfortune that occurred to me from a Dental Office with more than (30) years experience.

They did call and ask if I wanted an earlier appointment but was never told that the dentist wouldn’t be at my 4:00 appointment. Dental hygienist was good and thorough and which is the reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. However, when I asked a question that they could not answer I was told I would have to come back another day to make an appointment… with the dentist. Finding a new dentist who doesn’t work from home and waste my time

Experiencia negativa: I agree. Front receptionist (Dianna) extremely rude and condescending just for asking reasonable questions about procedures. Also felt like I was being forced to get the "Peroi Scaling and Root planing" You can't ask questions about it, without the receptionist getting angry and defensive ( ehy cant you ask and why does she get do angry). Can't get phone consultation about procedure, you have to "come in" if you decide you have questions. I am contemplating another office, not because of dentist or other staff, which serm to be ok but just because of the receptionist. Very very unprofessonal and aggressive woman.

Experiencia negativa: NEVER go to this office. We came for a general cleaning which is covered by the insurance and they forced us to do the deep cleaning and gave us an estimate pricing over $800! Even we insisted to do the general cleaning they refused and said they cannot do it. Why?? Also the staff was very rude they asked with ridicule do you really brush your teeth twice a day?? Don’t go there you get nothing!
