Experiencia fantástica: This is genuinely the best family dentist in the Phenix City/Columbus area (if not THE best dentist ever). We are military and will be moving soon but I wish we could take them with us! My husband has a very complex situation with his dental and they have been super understanding and helpful. My two year old has also been seen here and they are so incredibly kind to her. I've brought along my baby, and while I'm sitting with my toddler during her appointment the staff are playing with my baby and keeping him occupied! They are wonderful people who remember your name, genuinely just want to help, and make every visit pleasant. Most people dread going to the dentist but they are so amazing that even my 2 year old gets excited to go. I couldn't recommend them enough.

The tour I got the gift I received, wow just wow. My dental hygienist Veronica man oh man I felt like I was in there with my best friend, you are a special woman and I appreciate everything from you. Experiencia fantástica: When I tell you I love this office I really mean it. They were so great with my 2 year old when we first moved to the area. They interacted with him in the best ways and it made taking a toddler to the dentist an actual delight! I loved them so much I changed dentists and started going to them too. Everyone in the office was always so accommodating, knowledgeable and compassionate. I also got a new retainer with them and they redid it a second time because I didn’t feel the first one was right and they worked with me until I had something I felt really comfortable with. 10/10 all across the board. We only left the practice as we relocated to Atlanta and I would honestly consider the drive 2x - year- they are just that great.

Experiencia negativa: Went over a year ago for my first visit. People were friendly but for a preventative exam that is cover by insurance. Keep in mind I have 2 dental insurance that they accept and after more than a year I am getting a bill when both insurance pay! Money hungry at this point! I would of understand if it was a tooth removal, cavities, but it was all routine!

I'm pretty impressed with the whole operation the dental assistant was super nice and really made sure I was comfortable. They also let me know how much everything was going to before doing any work. I would give them more than five stars I could. 12/01/2025 My back Molar broke and had an exposed nerve the night before Thanksgiving. The pain got progressively worse by the weekend by Monday morning I was contemplating pulling it myself, called River Valley at 8am to see if they could get get me in Tuesday, they got me an appointment for the same day. Gassed me up and pulled the tooth. When I said I was cold they brought me a blanket. I appreciate that I got in the same day and really like the fact I got a call the next day from the dentist asking me how I was feeling. Who expects to get a blanket at the dentist office.

Our entire experience was wonderful from speaking with Beth when we called in who made sure we got seen today and that he would have a pleasant experience. When we arrived at the office Ara checked us in with a smile and then Amanda gave us a tour of the office, introduced us to everyone and then sat down and learned about my son and his likes and dislikes. She made sure not to cause him any extra pain. Next we meet Dr. Slade Pirtle and when I tell you this man is amazing not only at his job but with his patients that is an understatement. My son needed a tooth pulled and he experienced zero pain during the extraction. He left the office pain free with the greatest experience and making the comment that he isn’t scared of the dentist anymore. I cannot recommend Dr. Pirtle and his staff more. My son is on the autistic spectrum, and the staff did so well communicating with him. They were upfront about my son’s dental needs, and we going to do everything to help with the work needed to fix my sons issue. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who is looking for new family dentist. Two thumbs up!!

They make you feel so comfortable and welcomed. It’s like one big family there. They get to know you as a person and not just another number. I have never been to another dentist office like this one. I have found my new dental home. Experiencia fantástica: I visited River Valley Family Dentistry on 06/25/2025 and they're the best dentist I've been to in my adult life they get to know you as a person not just a patient and then they ask you what are your expectations from the visit as well as what are your short term and long term goals as for as dental work as well as helping you form a plan to reach your goals and they also go over pricing with you before they do anything so their isn't any surprises and with that being said the prices are very very very very reasonable with my insurance I couldn't ask for a better dentist visit so much so I never write reviews but I deemed it necessary to write this one without being asked too

Experiencia fantástica: This is not a dentist office. It is THE dentist office you should be going to if you want to be treated with professionalism, kindness, and respect. They are family oriented and really take the time to get to know you. I have no idea how they remember their patients the way they do, but they will get to know you. I really appreciate this office and wonderful staff and I hope they stay in the area.

Experiencia fantástica: Love love love this dentist office! My first encounter with River Valley happened during a time when I was in immense pain. They were able to get me in the same day and solved my problem right then and there. No run around like the other offices I had contacted or went to during that time. When I first stepped in the door, they welcomed me in like family. I was introduced to the entire team and they took the time to get to know me as a person, not just a patient. This was something so new and special to me. Dr. Pirtle listened to my concerns, addressed them and provided wonderful follow up care. I couldn’t recommend a better team to go to!

Experiencia fantástica: I had an amazing experience today with the staff of River Valley Family Dentistry. I would recommend them to everyone. I had a cleaning and a consort about having a partial made for my bottom plate. They made an impression of my top and bottom plates. I'm looking forward to my next appt to have my partial installed.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a broken filling, I called as a new pt they got me in the next day and fixed it up, no pain!! I have used ALOT of dentists in the Columbus Phenix City area and have NEVER had a better experience. I even went back for a cleaning and still never had a better experience. When I tell u this is the dentisit to go to. I REALLY mean this is it!!!

Experiencia fantástica: This place goes above and beyond any dentist office I’ve ever been to! All of the staff are amazing! I had the pleasure of having Lauren as my dental hygienist and she was a rockstar! Very personable, walked me through everything, made sure I was comfortable, and I told her I get bad migraines and she even gave me glasses to wear because of the lights (so thankful for that)! The dentist himself was very attentive and super nice and made sure I knew what was going on when it came to my care! Seriously would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Have always had a really big fear of the dentist, this place knocked that away entirely!

This office is the BEST OVERALL!! I read the reviews and Googled Top Dentists in Columbus, GA/Phenix City, AL and River Valley Family Dentist was in the top 3 and has been the People's Choice for years. I made an appointment and experienced it first hand. As a new patient, I got an appointment right away. I received a welcome gift on my first visit! From the front of the office to the back, EVERYONE is polite, professional, and genuine. They all have beautiful smiles too!!! My first appointment didn't even feel like a trip to the dentist. At first, I was nervous because of bad experiences in the past but all my concerns were addressed. I am so happy I chose River Valley Family Dentistry to manage my dental care. I definitely would recommend this office to anyone that needs a dentist. My only regret is not choosing Dr. & Mrs. Dr. Pirtle sooner. They both are so TALENTED & AWESOME! Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been dealing with two troublesome teeth that I just couldn’t ignore any longer. One of them really started acting up a few days ago, and the pain just kept getting worse. After doing some research and talking to my parents, who have been going to River Valley Family Dentistry (RVFD) for years, I decided to call them on a Friday morning, hoping they’d have a same-day appointment. Luckily, they fit me in just a few hours later! When I mentioned my serious fear of dentists (dentophobia), the receptionist was incredibly understanding. Upon arrival, the staff greeted me with compassion, warmth and patience. Even though I was 20 minutes early, I was called back almost immediately. The hygienist, Reagan, was super friendly and didn’t make me go through the full x-ray and cleaning routine—she just focused on the problem area. Once the x-rays were done, Dr. Slade Pirtle came in and was very considerate of my feelings. He presented a few realistic options and encouraged me to take my time deciding, which I really appreciated. I didn’t feel rushed or like just another number. I decided to have the teeth pulled on Monday instead of the same day and was surprised and grateful to get a prescription for pain relief. As I write this, my tooth is already hurting and I can imagine it will only get worse over the weekend. Having pain relief is a blessing! Typically, I need IV sedation even for a cleaning because my mouth is really sensitive to dental tools, cold water, and suction. But I felt reassured that while there might be some discomfort, Dr. Pirtle wouldn’t let me experience any serious pain. I left feeling hopeful and comfortable about the upcoming procedure—definitely not how I’ve felt after visits to other dentists in the past. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m looking forward to making RVFD my go-to for dental care!

I had a really bad toothache they were able to get me in within 24hours and pill the tooth . Dr. Pirtle is absolutely amazing if your looking for a dentist that makes you feel seen and heard and like family then this is the best dentist for you

Experiencia fantástica: We are new to the area and it was time for my kiddo to get her check up, they got us in as a new patient the same day I called! My kiddo is only 2.5 and wouldn’t let them do much, but they were so kind and patient with her, did what she was willing to let them do and didn’t give up after 5 minutes and just send us on our way. I went ahead and made an apt for myself because they made me feel like I could truly trust them to take care of me and my family! If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.
