Experiencia negativa: Update: It got worse. Horrible experience. After posting the original review last month, the office manager Michelle called me and expressed frustration that I wrote this because other people would see it (yes she told me that). But she offered a free cleaning to make things right, which I appreciated and accepted. I planned to update my review after the appt to reflect this. At my cleaning, I had two of my kids with me (5 and 9). They're VERY well-behaved and I get complimented on their behavior in public constantly. They were sitting next to me during my cleaning, chatting and giggling together — but another staff member walked by the room and reprimanded them for saying the word 'toilet' to each other while being silly and passing the time. I was upset, but the hygienist confirmed that she had no issue at all with my kids' behavior. They were not being loud or rude, just saying words to make each other laugh. Michelle came by after my appt to follow up on the original issue. I told her I was frustrated with the staff member who was rude to my kids, and explained what happened. She was immediately defensive, and said she'd need to speak with the employee to understand why she said it. No apology, just a repeated statement that she needed to talk to the employee to understand why. Michelle became upset quickly, and told me she was frustrated with me — she said she was bending over backwards trying to make me happy and that I was probably going to just go write another bad review. She never expressed concern about the experience I had or the real issues I raised, just the fact that I wrote a review online. She told me that writing a review is unfair and one-sided (yes, those were her actual words). Michelle also told me that she reviewed my original call (they're all recorded) and used it to better train the front desk and adjust their procedures. This all confirmed what I had told her in the beginning — that they did not clearly communicate what I was actually paying for in the first place. The summary is this: > I called as a new patient to schedule a cleaning, and discussed costs. They did not explain that I was only getting a consult (no cleaning) for the price, and this was a frustrating experience. They can do whatever they want but need to explain what we're paying for. > Michelle the office manager is very concerned about reviews - not about the experience, but about a bad review being online. > Some of the staff were great - others absolutely not. I would expect at a *bare minimum* from any dentist to be told what I'm paying for and to be treated with respect - and have my kids treated with respect. That is all that I wanted. Original: I was really looking forward to moving over to an integrative dentist practice. I scheduled my appointment, and discussed information with the front desk - I hadn’t seen a dentist in a while and don’t have dental insurance, so I went over costs up front. I knew it would be expensive for my first appointment since they required X-rays, and that was fine. My appointment went fine. Everyone was nice enough. But then they ended my appointment without cleaning my teeth. I was very confused, as I had made my appointment because I was overdue for a cleaning. I’ve seen many dentists between myself and my four kids, and this is of course a standard part of going to the dentist - but they told me I wasn’t scheduled for a cleaning. I was obviously very confused and shocked, and told them I that’s why I was coming to the dentist in the first place, but they just told me I wasn’t scheduled and shuffled me along like this was normal. Then they charged me over $300 for my consult and X-rays, and quoted me another $118 for a cleaning that I’d have to come back for another day. At checkout, after expressing my concerns, they told me they like to do consults before cleanings. But they never, EVER mentioned this while I was on the phone scheduling as a new patient or going over the costs. The whole thing could have been resolved by better communication from the front desk at booking.

Our family reached out to their dentist, Dr Dan Bruce and he was willing to provide an emergency off hours office visit to re-cement the crown. We were able to remain in town to enjoy the rest of our trip. Dr. Bruce was great to work with! Michele also provided excellent customer service when finishing all the payment details. Thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing, patient focused practice! I have been seeing Dr. Ririe and his team for the last 3 years and they have always been fantastic. Fast forward to last night when I popped a veneer off of my front tooth! My daughter is getting married next weekend so this was the last thing I needed! I reached out to Dr. Ririe at 8:45 on a Friday night and he answered right away. He couldn’t have been kinder and agreed to see me the next morning. He and Jo saw me at 8:45 on Saturday morning and repaired my veneer. I am beyond grateful to them and so appreciate their care!

Experiencia fantástica: I was referred to Dr. Bruce's office by the Boise Speech and Hearing Clinic for an oral appliance to treat my sleep apnea. The service I received was excellent. Dr. Bruce and his staff were exceptionally professional, thorough, and efficient. This includes the front office that handled my appointments and insurance to the outstanding technicians that assisted Dr. Bruce. The level of knowledge and care that went into the process was impressive. You really feel like you are in good hands and under great care at all times. I was very impressed with the quality of the work and detail that went into the oral appliance which helped reduce my sleep apnea score from Moderate to Normal.

Experiencia negativa: I have been a patient here for about 5 years, and the service received during that time has been spotty. Dr. Ririe has a habit of, despite knowing I have a strong gag reflex, trying to fit the maximum amount of equipment for his own convenience, leaving me choking on a number of occasions. I cannot find fault with the final result of their work as some difficult problems were resolved well. I just found the care for the person in the chair to be less than a priority for some of the practitioners there. The more troubling concern is with the practices of the billing staff. Earlier this year I received a statement showing I owed a relatively minor balance, but since it was for a cleaning normally covered by insurance, I inquired with the billing office. They did some research on the charges, then called back to let me know that because of the prior perio work they had done a couple years ago, what was once routine cleaning was now being billed at a higher rate, not covered by insurance. This new charge and the lack of coverage were never disclosed to me. No worries though, for they had been offsetting that increased charge against a previously undisclosed credit balance (apparently totalling several hundred dollars) for the past couple years. June in their billing office agreed that was poor practice to not disclose either the additional balance or the credit and promised to look into it further. A while later, she sent a new statement showing a zero dollar balance so I assumed all was resolved. Today I received a new statement showing the return of the prior charges. June said the statement showing a zero balance was printed from their old system and included to show that the procedure codes justified the new expense. No explanation was given why they couldn't come up with a statement that showed both the new billing code AND the actual balance. I have paid the disputed amount and cancelled my future appointments with this clinic due to their poor communication and deceptive billing practices.

Experiencia negativa: They very clearly commit insurance fraud. Do not let them fool you, if you have Blue Cross or Blue Shield they ARE in network and they know it but they will try to make you sign away your in network benefits (against their contract). If you run into this situation report them to your insurance fraud hotline and they will be able to help. This is currently being investigated and the insurance companies are very interested to know why they are operating against their contract. Attached is the "self-pay" form they will try to make you sign explicitly stating they will not and you will not submit any claim for IN-NETWORK services provided. They will tell you over the phone you are free to submit a claim and the form does not restrict your ability to file a claim. You can read it for yourself before you have to go through the nightmare we went through.

From the lack of professionalism and then the lack of follow through when our son told the dentist his fillings hurt. She could care less! Took his money and won’t make it right. I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to go to this place. If you have dental anxiety they will absolutely bully you until you have a full on break down. She is a horrid dentist and human! Do not go here!!!!!

As a medically complex child with a g-tube, I was skeptical about the outcome, but Dr. Ririe's expertise and compassion have been a game-changer. His procedure has enabled my son to eat more foods and receive essential nutrients orally, and we are now hopeful that he will be able to be g-tube-free in just six months. I am thankful for the smooth healing process and the renewed opportunities for my son to thrive, thanks to Dr. Ririe's skilled hands and compassionate heart.

Experiencia fantástica: I stumbled upon Boise Integrative Dentistry when I had a dental emergency and called them instead of my own dentist by mistake, as both dental practices are in the same building. There was a voice message providing the names and numbers of four dentists to call in the event of an emergency. I thought these were just on-call dentists, and it was not until later that I realized these were the four dentists employed at Boise Integrative Dentistry. Once I realized my mistake,, I called my dentist's emergency number. He never returned my call, but each of the four dentists at Boise Integrative Dentistry promptly did. I needed to have a crown put back on the day before I was scheduled to leave town for a vacation. I choose to have Dr. Rosa Pothier of Boise Integrative Dentistry put my crown back on, which she informed me did not fit very well. Dental work is expensive, but even if it was not, it does not make sense to continue going to a provider who was not providing me with a good service. Although I had been going to my dentist for 39 years (when my dentist retired, his son took over the business and became my new dentist), the combination of not receiving a call back for a dental emergency and learning that the dental work I had done was not up to par, was a message from the universe telling me l needed to change dentists. My experience with Dr. Rosa Pothier and the staff at Boise Integrative Dentistry was so stellar that choosing her as my new dentist was a no-brainer. Dr. Rosa provided me a pillow for my neck and offered to cover me with a blanket if I got cold. In addition, I received a very nice hand-written Thank You card from her after my first visit. After a recent dental proceedure, Dr. Rosa Pothier called me twice to check on how I was doing. All of these things are experiences I never had with my former dentists. In addition, Dr. Rosa Pothier's has the most up-to-date dental knowledge and an extremely high skill level. I would recommend Boise Integrative Dentistry and Dr. Rosa Pothier without hesitation to anyone considering a new dentist and/or an overall better dental experience. Since changing dentists, I have had to have quite a bit of my previous dental work redone because there were issues with more of my previous dental work than just that one crown. This has been an eye-opening experience as most of us have no idea if our dental work is being properly done. For that reason, it’s very important to seek out dental practices that consistently receive detailed 5 star reviews like this one. Dr. Rosa is my dentist, but I would feel comfortable going to any dentist associated with this practice. Boise Integrative Dentistry has two locations. I go to the one on Ustick, but there’s also one located in downtown Boise. Highly Recommended!!!

I’ve since changed my stars to the least possible. Guess she isn’t taking responsibility to fix my son’s botched fillings then? We’ll be talking to our insurance. So you’re aware the company uses a filtering system for their Google reviews. They send you a link and if it’s not 5 stars it doesn’t make it through to Google. I had to go onto Google to get this posted. Original post: This is a tough one for me. I’m a special case, I was clear about my concerns and what I was not willing to have done in my intake paperwork. Yet no one seemed to know that information prior to my arrival and I felt pushed into a corner. It made my anxiety spike to the point I ended up in tears and I’ve been sick all evening over it. My entire adult life I’ve battled with medical professionals not listening which has caused a lot of trauma. I’m still not sure that I was heard today. The dentist did give me some resources that I’ll look into. Although from initial research it might not be right for me. While I was back in the chair my husband was in the waiting room. He overheard some less than professional conversations from the front desk and maybe an office manager? Office is completely unprofessional and does not know what they are doing. My son’s tiny fillings shouldn’t hurt months later. Even without probing my gums my mouth was swollen and sore for 3 days.

Experiencia negativa: The practice seems dishonest and unethical. I tried to find out if they took my insurance or if they would assist me with getting replacement bands. They were trying to get me to pay out of pocket for a consult for oral appliances when all I needed to know is if they can help me with getting the replacement bands. It took them several days of giving me the runaround to finally tell me they don't take my insurance and to go to the doctor that made the appliance.....do you think that I'll be reaching out to your practice if I wanted to go back to that office? Is it too difficult to give a yes or no answer as opposed to trying to dupe people to pay out of pocket? Raul Additional information: "We are sorry that it took several days to get you the answer you were looking for." it took a long time because you were incapable of straight up tell me that you don't take my insurance and could not provide replacement bands without being a patient at your facility. My negative review is because you spent a lot of time trying to get me to pay out of pocket while evading the question of whether you take my insurance.

He was referred for Myo Therapy and to also have his airway assessed. He had his tonsils and adenoids removed and his tongue tie released. Due to Boise Integrative Dentistry collaborating with other businesses and working as a team, my son is sleeping better, breathing better, and has so much better posture! After the thoroughness of the exam and addressing all the issues, we decided to do a habit corrector and an ALF retainer to open up the tongue space. We have now brought in 3 of our other boys for the same kind of treatment, who were just referred to just get orthodontics and not address anything else by their previous dentist. Another son has switched dentist and had a filling done with ozone. I have been to other holistic dentists for my own issues. I like that they not only give all the options, they explain every option you have available and let you choose. My kids are all happy to go to the dentist, even knowing they are getting adjustments and may be sore! We live in the Caldwell/Middleton area and are happy to make the drive.

She lacks basic skills to effectively communicate with kindness. If you want to be treated like a human being with feelings, don't speak to Maureen. I was already considering switching to a different dentist for our family of seven, and this experience solidified that decision.

Experiencia positiva: Positive Experience with Dr. Ririe's Expertise, but Administrative Hiccups I recently had to have my infant undergo a frenectomy performed by Dr. Ririe, which was necessary to address a tongue tie issue that was affecting nursing. Despite a few administrative hiccups, my experience with Dr. Ririe's expertise was largely positive. Dr. Ririe's skills shone through as he executed the frenectomy with precision and professionalism. His attention to detail was evident, and he went the extra mile to ensure that I felt confident in performing the post-procedure stretches that were crucial for my infant's recovery. His dedication to his patients is commendable. Initially, the upfront payment of $1000 and the promise of a refund after insurance processing seemed reasonable. However, I encountered some frustrations on the administrative side. I was told that the insurance processing typically takes about a month, and our insurance was in-network and preferred. Unfortunately, it took longer than expected to receive the refund, which was certainly an inconvenience. Scheduling follow-up appointments proved to be another challenge. While Dr. Ririe advised follow-ups at one and two weeks post-procedure, there seemed to be confusion in coordinating the timing. Upon leaving the office, I believed I had scheduled a follow-up for the following Wednesday, only to realize later that it was scheduled two weeks out. When I reached out to correct this, the office maintained that 10-14 days was the norm for follow-ups. However, during the actual follow-up, the staff expressed surprise that it was my child's first visit since the procedure, leaving me feeling unheard and frustrated. Furthermore, the submission of insurance claims was a bit of a struggle. The office cited understaffing as the reason for delays, and after submission, I discovered that the claim was submitted incorrectly, according to my insurance provider. While the office was convinced of the accuracy of their submission, I was eventually able to resolve the issue with my insurance company, resulting in a delay of months before I finally received a refund from the office. Despite these administrative challenges, the overall outcome of the procedure was successful, and after insurance adjustments, my out-of-pocket expense was far less than the $1000 I paid up front. Dr. Riri's expertise in performing the frenectomy and his commitment to patient care were the highlights of the experience, overshadowing the administrative hiccups that occurred. I recommend Dr. Riri's services for similar procedures, but I also hope that the office can streamline their administrative processes to provide a smoother experience for future patients.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a patient here for over 25 years, and I must say it is the most incredible dental practice. From the moment that you walk in to the time your appointment is complete you will be cared for every step of the way. Dr Ririe and Dr Rosa are excellent dentist who take the time to care for your teeth. Tammy and Tonya have been my hygienist for years who are very gentle and thorough. The whole practice is excellent. Recently I needed a cosmetic filling on my front tooth and Dr Rosa and Kylie did an outstanding job and I left feeling more confident than ever. I promise you this office is more than just a dental office, they treat you like family and take the time to ensure you get the best care you possibly can in the dental chair.

Experiencia negativa: The woman who does new patient intake was so snotty over the phone. Her attitude was so nauseating that I decided I will find another provider. Practices should really ensure they hire people with nice personalities if they encounter clients, because it can make or break the potential for continued success as a business. I am certain that if Maribelle doesn't adjust her attitude, they will see less and less patients over the years and not be able to continue to build.

Experiencia fantástica: What a wonderful dental office & team! They are fantastic with my 4yo and making her comfortable in the chair. Because of Dr. Ririe’s education & expertise, my daughter is now well on her way to nose breathing and better posture, sleeping, etc, due to their Healthy Start program. Y’all have given us so much in regards to her health and we are forever grateful!

Experiencia positiva: UPDATE as of 9-10-2022: The office made an effort to reach out after I posted this review and has been humble and gracious as they listened to our experience. The dentist called and spoke with us, as well as their office administrator. I appreciated their listening ear and their willingness to express their apology. They apologized for the poor experience we had, they owned their mistakes, and expressed their desire to make it right. It takes a lot of humility and grace to be able to apologize as they did - I appreciate how they handled this. I updated my review to reflect 3 stars instead of 1 because of their efforts. We switched to this office because of a recommendation from a friend. All 4 of my kids had cleanings - every appointment they were running late (one appointment was 35 minutes late!). When I went to check out, the employee behind the desk was busy on her computer (not on the phone) and did not even look up to acknowledge me waiting to check out.... 10 minutes later, another employee finally chimed in and offered to help. We needed to get a few cavities taken care of for my 7 year old child. They gave me a quote and the estimated price after insurance. Wanting to get this all done before school started, I went ahead and scheduled 2 appointments over the next few weeks to get the cavities fixed. The first appointment they were running very late. But we finally got in and got the first phase taken care of. The second appointment they were running so late we had to reschedule. The third try, we schedule for 7:10 AM hoping it we would get in and out, but no - they were running late again. My child was brought back to the chair at 7:20, and then we waiting... the procedure did not start until 7:55. My child was so nervous and was waiting for so long.... and not one person offered a "thank you for your patience" or apology for the massive delay. To top it off, the front office neglected to notify us of an insurance issue until AFTER the final appointment - I asked when they had gotten this notification from Blue Cross, to which they told me they got that info 5 days ago. And why did no one communicate this to me? The estimation was incorrect and now we have a massive dental bill that does not at all reflect the quote we were provided. I am a patient person and I don't recall ever having written a review where I was not pleased... I am more of a "silver lining" kind of person that gives everyone the benefit of the doubt. But this was too much. Poor communication. Poor customer service. Poor follow up. Do not recommend.

My children both have rather complicated dental needs including Enamel Hypoplasia, so it's extremely hard to find a dentist who truly knows EH and has real treatment options. Dr. Ririe was amazing with my children and has the absolute safest and best treatment plan for them. The hygienists we met were wonderful as well and did an extremely thorough cleaning and made my children feel so comfortable. And the front office staff was very friendly and so sweet to my children. We have been to 3 dentists in and around Boise and 3 dentists in Nashville, TN over the last several years trying to find the best and I feel that we have finally found the best. I would absolutely recommend Boise Integrative Dentistry.

Experiencia fantástica: Great first experience with Integrative Dentistry! We saw Dr. Ririe for my 8yo, and everything was explained well and thoroughly about treatment for my son. I'm considering switching all of the family over based on how knowledgable the dentist and staff are, and most importantly because they focus on treating the root cause of the issue, not the standard "drill, fill and bill" like most dentists are these days.

Experiencia negativa: I want to start my review by saying that Dr. Ririe is amazing! Truly fantastic & we had a wonderful experience with him (my baby had a tongue tie that needed released). However, I cannot in good faith recommend Boise Integrative Dentistry. The procedure was over a year ago. I just received a bill for the full amount (well over a thousand dollars) saying if I don't pay it by the end of May it's going to collections. I asked why hasn't it been processed through insurance. They have repeatedly told me that they have submitted claims to my insurance and that they have been denied. However, I have confirmed twice directly with my insurance over the last year that baby was covered by both medical and dental insurance during the date of service and that their system shows no claims have been submitted. I spoke to Donna who was nice and said that she would look into it but that she would have the manager call me (which I requested bc this has been a mess for over a year). I was supposed to receive a phone call back from the Office Manager Colleen 3 days ago and haven't heard anything. At this point, I'm so frustrated. I can't do anything because they have to be the ones to submit the claims. I haven't heard from them in months so I assumed it was taken care of but to then suddenly I get a bill saying it's going to collections when it hasn't even been properly processed through insurance just seems so inappropriate and grossly negligent of their responsibility to uphold their part of the patient/provider relationship. For these reasons, I just can't recommend them.
