Experiencia negativa: My experience with this dental office was extremely frustrating and unprofessional, primarily due to the front desk staff, Nicole. I visited the office twice and was told by Nicole that I was out of network, which meant I had to pay out of pocket upfront. Trusting this information, I paid. I later confirmed with my insurance that I was actually in-network, and that payments had already been issued directly to the office—something that was never disclosed to me. In addition, I paid a $200 deposit for a crown. After finding a more affordable option elsewhere, I chose not to move forward with treatment here. Shortly after, Nicole contacted me to schedule the procedure as soon as possible, likely tied to the payments they had already received and wanting to avoid issuing a refund. When I requested a refund for both the services I paid for and the deposit, I was told to come in on Friday (03/20). I confirmed this by phone and via text. I work at a law firm and have a demanding schedule, but I left work early to make it. When I arrived, the office was closed and the door was locked. After calling, someone eventually let me in, but she explained she was only covering the front desk because the staff had already left. After she called Nicole, the lady informed me Nicole stated the doctor had not prepared the refund check and that I would need to return the following Wednesday (03/25). This situation reflects a serious lack of communication, organization, and professionalism. It is incredibly disappointing, especially after I made the effort to adjust my work schedule. I want to be clear that I had a positive experience with Dr. Peralza and appreciate his care. However, my experience with Nicole was extremely disappointing. The lack of communication, organization, and respect for my time has made it clear that I will not be returning.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve had numerous work done here between cleanings and wisdom teeth removal and they do an amazing job at cleanliness, friendliness, punctuality, professionalism, and making the process smooth and comfortable. I can’t imagine there being a better dentistry in LA and I’m very fortunate I found them - highly recommend Dr. Perlaza and the entire team at Sherman Oaks Dentistry and will be back for any and all future work.

Luis, the dental assistant, was not only super nice and hilarious but also had a great bedside manner, making the whole experience enjoyable and relaxed ️. Dr. Perlaza is truly top-notch! He used the latest technology to scan my mouth and gave me an honest, efficient, and friendly analysis of my teeth. I felt like I was in the best hands possible . And a special shoutout to Paula, the dental hygienist, who went above and beyond to fit me into her schedule. She was professional, empathetic, and did an amazing job cleaning my teeth ✨. This place is simply the best – I’m giving it an eleven out of ten ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! If you’re looking for a dental office that combines top-of-the-line technology with a warm and friendly team, this is it. Experiencia fantástica: Dr Harold Perlaza has been a fantastic dentist for me and my family for over 25 years. If he ever retires I may have to follow him. I’d have no idea what to do without him. Him and his employees have always gone above and beyond for us. Our schedule is all over the place and they try to accommodate us always the best they can. I have had numerous crowns done, 1 implant, I go to them at least twice a year for cleanings. His studio is extremely clean, beautiful photos of his travels are displayed in front of you when you sit in the chair and during any procedures you can watch a movie or watch his travel videos. It’s all win win and I highly recommend him.

Experiencia negativa: The place is wonderful but shouldn’t have 5 stars. I was told I needed a mouth guard due to grinding of the teeth. When informed about the price I was quoted $528 with insurance. It sounded strange since I have good Delta Dental PPO. I call my insurance company and they informed me that didn’t even put in a claim to get an estimate even though I was told my “insurance” portion and “my portion”. That’s not cool dudes

Experiencia fantástica: Staff is great! I’ve had a few issues with some dentists in SoCal over the years but Dr. Perlaza and his staff are very informed and patient. I came in with a cracked tooth; while my previous dentist stated it needed to be removed. After seeing these people I was informed that it could be saved with a simple procedure and crown. “The priority is always to save the tooth” was what I was told and that’s what they did.

As a team, we are keeping my teeth healthy. Also, the staff is very professional. Finally, Dr Perlaza is the very best dentist of my 81 years of experience.

They do thorough work, they discuss your options with you beforehand, they lay out the costs very clearly. It's been a great transition to Sherman Oaks Dentistry. Highly recommend!

So when I moved to Los Angeles and had to leave my dentist behind, I was a little worried about finding a new one. All of those worries were put to bed when I visited Sherman Oaks Dentistry and Dr. Perlaza for the first time. He and the entire staff is so attentive and professional. They are on top of everything, easy to get a hold of, and actually care about your dental health. I get three cleanings a year, so I visit pretty often, and I can’t say enough nice things about the experience. Clean, quick and friendly with tremendous attention to detail. If you’re looking for a new dentist (and even if you’re not) look no further!

My girlfriend found this dentist due to the great reviews, and they deserve every 5 star review. What a great experience! Customer service was unreal! So nice, polite and happy to help. The staff and the DR explained everything in detail before and as they were doing it and explaining why. Then gave opinions and options of what you could do, not pushing anything on you. The receptionist even ran out to my car and paid for my street parking whilst I was getting a cleaning and told me not to worry about it, they don’t want patients worrying about getting a ticket! My girlfriend and 3 friends have all booked appointments!

The dental hygienist who took my X-rays and photos was very pleasant and kept informing me of what she was doing, which I hugely appreciated, and she was sensitive to the pain I was experiencing. Dr. Perlaza took his time to show me my photos, point things out, and explain next steps in a clear way. Afterward, Crystal, a receptionist, went over what Dr. Perlaza recommended treatment-wise, but in no way pressured me into a decision. Definitely very happy that I went to this office!
