Dr. Smith is straightforward and honest, never hiding anything, and he clearly explains the pros and cons of every situation so you can make confident decisions. When it came time for orthognathic surgery, he referred us to Dr. Siavash at Greater Ventura Oral & Facial Surgery. Thanks to that referral, the surgery (in March) was a success, and as of September, Shanaaz is essentially 100% recovered. We had considered other options, but the level of care at Anacapa was incomparable. Dr. Smith and his team truly go the extra mile for that beautiful, epic smile. They made a real difference in our lives, and we couldn’t be happier with the care Shanaaz received. He even personally came in on a holiday weekend once to fix a broken wire on my son’s braces that was causing him discomfort. Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Smith and the Anacapa Orthodontics team are amazing and I highly recommend them for your orthodontic treatment. I started my treatment plan in January 2023 at age 35. Originally it was projected that it would take approximately 3 years from start to finally getting my braces off. It was a little bit longer of a time frame because I also needed Orthognathic (Jaw) surgery, for a severe underbite. I was in braces for a year and ten months before finally having the surgery. I have Kaiser Insurance and had my surgery done at Kaiser Sunset, in LA, in October 2024. Dr. Smith and the Anacapa team coordinated with my surgeon, Dr. Tehrany, throughout the whole process. The whole surgery process was seamless and the surgery went great and I recovered rather quickly. After recovering from the surgery I was in braces for another 6 months. Yesterday I finally got my braces taken off, a whole 6 months faster than what was originally expected. I couldn't be more happy with the results. From my first consultation I knew I made the right choice in choosing Anacapa Orthodontics. Walking in the door you are greeted with kindness and hospitality by the team in front checking you in. Anytime I called to get an appointment for a broken bracket or a wire poking me, they were able to get me in right away. The team in the back continues with the same kindness and hospitality, that is rare to find these days. During my 2 1/2 year treatment process there was never one appointment where I felt rushed or like they were just trying to hurry up and get me out of there. Every time I was there I felt like I was getting VIP treatment, but that's the way the whole Anacapa team operates. They took the time to find out how things were going not only in my treatment but how things were going in my personal life. This VIP treatment made it feel like they were on the journey with me versus I'm just a patient. Again, I just want to say thank you to Dr. Smith and the Anacapa team for their care and kindness throughout my orthodontic treatment. Dr. Ken Smith and his team of technicians are perfectly personable and professional in every way. Specifically for me, I was looking to use Invisalign trays to revamp and restore my childhood orthodontia that decided to slip and slide as a result of my dismissing my childhood retainer from duty. Dr. Smith crafted a plan for me, and when he determined that while my treatment had been beneficial, he was not satisfied…. knowing that he could do more. And he did! All he ever asked was my patience. The result is more than I ever dreamed of having. What an artist! My granddaughter also sees Dr.Smith and loves her experiences in his office. He and his staff have certainly created a delightful space for patients of all ages to feel hopeful and valued.

I went through almost three years of braces with ceramic brackets, and had orthognathic surgery about two years into the braces process. Through it all, Anacapa Orthodontics was there for me and was very patient. My smile has never been better and now I also have my daughter in braces, with of course, Anacapa.
