Experiencia negativa: I work in a dental office and called this practice to schedule an appointment for a patient who is traveling and is in need of treatment as soon as possible. The way my call was handled was completely unprofessional. The person who answered the phone simply said, “Hello.” When I asked if I had reached the dental office, instead of answering my question, she loudly demanded, “Who is this?” I asked again if I had reached the dental office, and she again loudly said, “Who is this?” without ever confirming whether I had called the correct office. At no point was there any professional greeting or attempt to assist me. I waited about 5–8 minutes and called back. I asked to speak with the office manager. When I was asked why, I stated that I wanted to make a complaint about how my call had been handled. The person then told me she was the manager. After I explained exactly what had occurred, her only response was, “Okay.” There was no apology, no concern, and no attempt to address the situation. As someone who works in the dental field, I refer patients to specialists on a regular basis. This office lost the opportunity to treat a patient because of the unprofessional behavior of the person answering the phone and the manager’s complete lack of concern when the issue was brought to her attention. If this is how referring offices are treated, I cannot recommend this practice. Based on my experience, this office could greatly benefit from improved customer service and phone etiquette.

Experiencia fantástica: I was highly impressed with the hygienist who quickly found and pointed out some serious dental/gum issues while I was there for a periodic teeth cleaning. The dentist was called in to confirm and a referral was made to a periodontist to address these issues. Very appreciative of that for dental health maintenance. She explained things in a way that stressed the importance to get on with a specialist post haste.

Experiencia fantástica: My wife had a supernumerary tooth, just an extra tooth caused by genetics. It was very big and causing problems. She had been to dozens of dentist over the years that wouldn’t take it out and said she needed an oral surgeon. Dr Spinks extracted that tooth in less than 30 minutes. There is no more skilled Dentist in the Houston area than Dr Spinks.

Experiencia negativa: I had 2 bridges put in and 1 failed after a year and the other at 2 years.. These bridges cost me a lot of money. I expected more than 2 years of use. I tried to get warranty on these bridges, as recommended by another dentist but had no success.

Experiencia positiva: Hello. I wasn't going to write a review; I usually save this for positive ones. But I visited Reflective Dentistry yesterday and have received multiple solicitations for a review, so I'm obliged to comply. I went in for my cleaning, and it started out fairly normal, except that the 'intake' receptionist I usually see was 'out', but the 'outtake' receptionist who's usually there was in, so she checked me in. I waited, my hygienist came and got me from the lobby, escorted me to my area, and we 'got comfortable'. I am 54, and I have challenges when I visit the dentist. One is that I have a small mouth, which makes some procedures difficult. I explained some of the challenges to my new hygienist and inquired about my old hygienist. Her name, my prior hygienist, is Alissa (I know how to say it, not spell it, but that should be close). I commented that 'Alissa' had a very gentle touch and was very patient. My new hygienist quipped, "I'm not patient?" Maybe, too soon to tell. The cleaning was physically 'uncomfortable'. During x-rays, my hygienist told me to close my teeth; I couldn't. So she takes the shield out of my mouth, and then demonstrates how to close one's teeth. I was a little upset. I told her I know how to close my teeth, I said I can't close them, I didn't say I don't know how. At one point, after already advising me to buy an electric toothbrush, my hygienist asked if I considered braces. I simply replied, " Please let's just get this completed. When the Doc came in, there was something off about him. I've been seeing him for years, but he seemed physically off. I can't explain it. When I was checking out, this was weird: I saw a screwdriver lying on the counter at a dentist's office. And the fact that it was lying there probably wasn't weird, but the fact that I thought it was weird, in and of itself, seems weird now. Anyway, I paid my co-pay. I told the receptionist, 'It feels different in here today.' She was very kind; she looked at me with an inquisitive look and asked, 'Really?' I smiled and shrugged. I grabbed my goodie bag of swag, walked out to my bike, fired it up, and rode away. That's my review, or more accurately, my most recent experience. Adam.

Experiencia negativa: Just waited over 2 hours for the staff to take 5 minutes to fix my wife’s filling. She made an appointment to get a check up, fix a filling, and get a cleaning. They failed to clean her teeth after we waited 2 hours. They left her in a room with no communication and then when the hygienist finally came in the room, they stated that they were never told my wife was there even though she had seen the dentist and dental assistant in that time. Again after 2 freaking hours!! The dentist took over an hour to even come in to fix the filling. After all of that, they had the audacity to try to upsell on a teeth whitening. And wouldn’t stop trying to sell it even after my wife told them no. And finally they failed to communicate that there was an issue with her insurance when she was there for 2 whole hours. My wife came out crying because of how bad the experience was. Seriously unprofessional and incompetent.

Experiencia fantástica: updated again 3-31-26. I had the ABSOLUTE BEST cleaning I have ever had yesterday with Dena. My teeth are so clean and white. She scrubbed on them a while. She taught me how to flow and a few other things as well. Very knowledgable and friendly! Five stars still! Highly recommend! 3-31-26 Updated 11-22-23 my tooth was getting very sensitive, and they scheduled me right away. This was also the day before thanksgiving they got me in. Turned out to be an emergency root canal. I even gave them the chance to do it after thanksgiving so they could go home. Dr Spinx and Donna said let’s definitely do it now. They did a root canal and put a temporary crown back on without hesitation. I highly recommend this place. They truly care about their patients. The check in process was easy and seamless. I was seen right away. Everyone made me feel comfortable and told me everything that was going on the entire time. I would definitely recommend Reflection Cosmetic Dentistry. we have been going there for 15 years now

Experiencia fantástica: This office was listed first by location for my insurance, Delta Dental. I was able to get an appointment quickly because I was having tooth pain. The staff was very friendly and everyone had a good sense of humor (required.) Dr. Spinks was very nice and knowledgeable. I have adverse reactions to the sound of drilling in my mouth, but Dr. Spinks made sure that I was not feeling any physical pain. My husband attended the appointment with me and we will both be coming back.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible place! All they care about is money not actually helping the patients. My insurance forced me to go here….. after one visit I will never go back. I went to a place and paid out of pocket…. And place I went to was actually willing to help my son and do a filling. This dentist office wanted to do a crown and charge a crazy price for a lot of “codes” that wasn’t covered by my insurance…and want to tell me that’s how they do things here. If screwing people over is what you do ….. I see it!!!! I will never go here and I already reported them to my insurance company since this sad awful place of business is where I was forced to go.

Dr. Devin Spinks is 'Da MANN', cool~calm~professional~and a BAMF all the way around! He will never leave ya sitting in pain on a nerve wrecking state of mind, he accepts care credit, and he has a great personality! We just got us a new hygienist and she hooked me up! I've been living like a forest hippie for the past 2 years and she took all of my smoke stains of. And, put all the pride in my teeth that you could ever 'lendasister.com'. Lucy is beast and she did a super fantastic, amazing, gleaming job. Me and my sparkling pearls and glistening gum lines are just tickled pink. They rock! Wouldn't go anywhere else on planet Earth!

Experiencia positiva: First visit. Reception area was nice, receptionist and new patient intake forms were professional and top notch. (I am someone who would rather do anything else but go to the Dentist. Unfortunately my dentist of the last 10 years is not covered by my insurance any longer and I had to find a new Dentist.) A COUPLE OF VISITS UNDER MY BELT. RAISING MY RATING TO 4.5 STARS. MY CLEANINGS HAVE BEEN PLEASANT AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. Works seamlessly with my Medicare Adavantage plan insurance. Office is clean and bright and I appreciate that it is right here in Alvin. I am giving Dr Spinks 4 stars initially instead of 5 for one reason. Due to setup of patient chair it is next to impossible for Dr Spinks or his techs to address you directly face to face. You can only glance sideways so you can't really get a good look at them when they are talking to you. Also none of the techs had a name tag. I don't believe I am the only one who is extremely uncomfortable at the Dentist office and while the lack of name tags and ability to address patient face to face are perhaps minor issues, they are things that can greatly improve the patient's initial comfort level while he is getting to know his Dentist and staff. Everything else was professional and I am looking forward to go back for a comprehensive cleaning in the near future. I plan to update my review once I have spent more time there. Again I have not one thing to say bad against Dr Spinks or his staff, I only wish space limitations didnt prevent the ability to interact with the Dentist and techs on a more face to face basis.

Experiencia negativa: If you could give them zero stars I would they insisted on putting in a bone graft after extracting two teeth and wanted to charge me 700 cash plus my insurance that covered the extractions 100 . I was told you have to have a bone graft, this is a lie two other dentist told me that is false. I would NEVER go back or recommend these dishonest dentist. I should have known when I walked in the lobby was empty , no customers at all I was the only one. If they will lie to me they will lie to you just for a buck. BUYER BEWARE.

DrSpinx removed the tooth in just a few minutes and it was virtually painless. I can’t adequately express how grateful and relieved I was. Best dental experience I’ve ever had (by far) and I’m actually looking forward to returning to Reflection to complete the rest of the work needed for my treatment plan.

Experiencia negativa: I brought both my kids in for a routine check-up at Reflection Cosmetics for the first time. The two ladies at the front desk were very polite and welcoming, but unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended. When my first child was called back, I noticed that the dental assistant was a student. I have no problem with students — everyone has to learn — but the rest of the staff was very short with her and came across as rude. Instead of calmly guiding her, they would just take things away and do it themselves, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. When the doctor came in, he acted as though he didn’t want to be there and barely communicated with me. It wasn’t until I mentioned that both my kids needed braces and that I was hoping to find one location for both orthodontics and regular dental care that he engaged at all. After the appointment, my other child told me that during her cleaning, they didn’t clean the back of her mouth the way they did the front. She also mentioned that when she said her gums were hurting — likely due to her wisdom teeth coming in — nothing was addressed or explained to her. Overall, the office had a negative and unwelcoming vibe, and both of my kids left feeling uncomfortable. They even asked not to come back. We’ll be looking for another family dentist, even if it means driving farther, because it’s important to us that our kids feel at ease and that the entire staff — from receptionist to doctor — shows professionalism and respect.

Experiencia fantástica: I had an infection in my tooth and was in a lot of pain, they were able to schedule me the same day I called and take care of the cause of the infection right away. Dr. Spinks, dental assistance, and front desk personal were amazing, very friendly, attentive and made me feel comfortable. They were able to place a temporary bridge on site, until the infection is gone and extractions are heeled, so I wouldn't be toothless. This was my first visit to Dr. Spinks and won't be the last.

I guess dental practices stopped doing basic cleanings where a hygienist scrapes tarter along the gum line and then polishes. Now that's called a deep cleaning and costs $500+. When a cleaning costs more than a crown it's a sad state for dental health.

My whole family goes there. We love their service and highly recommend them for your dental health needs. Edited on 10-24-22 to add: Once again Dr Spinks got me in on short notice and took good care of me. He pulled a tooth and got my temporary bridge in very quickly. I wish dental work wasn’t so expensive, but Dr Spinks and his staff are fantastic. He’s the only dentist I’ll go to in my area. He and his staff are absolutely awesome and I feel comfortable and confident in them every time I visit. Edited to add: 2/20/24, I had a problem with my bridge. Dr Spinks got me in right away. He made a treatment plan. And he stayed late to pull a tooth and make a temporary bridge. He and his staff are awesome! They’re why I love their clinic and my whole family goes to Dr Spinks for all of our dental health care. Give them a try. You will be well taken care of.

Experiencia fantástica: I was not looking forward to a root canal, never had one before now, but everything went smoothly. Everyone at Reflection Cosmetic Dentistry was so nice and concerned about my comfort. There was very little pain, a local anesthesia was given, and the only issue I had was I couldn't move my upper lip on the left side for four hours. I could eat, drink, etc. right after the root canal, just not anything sticky. When I left Dr Spinks office, there were pain meds and an antibiotic ready for me at my pharmacy.

I had just gone to a dentist who said I had 8 cavities and they were going to charge me $1,200 (that's with insurance). I thought that was strange because I have only had a couple of cavities in my lifetime. I followed up with Dr. Spinks and I don't have any cavities at all. Needless to say, I'm so thankful for his care.

Experiencia negativa: Stay away from this place. I made an appointment for a very specific procedure. I told them beforehand to double check my insurance to make sure it will be paid for. Gave them a day to check and they called back confirming insurance will pay. Two weeks after my procedure was done they sent me a bill for the full cost of the procedure. Very fishy and shady business practice here.WATCH OUT

Experiencia fantástica: Update of review. This place is absolutely stellar. When you walk in, you are greeted by kind, smiling faces, and the waiting room is very comfortable. The hygienist is funny, friendly, and does an amazing job. The dentist is an artist of fillings, crowns, and cavity removal. He manages to take the worst case scenario, and turn it into a completely fixed tooth post haste. I am completely blown away by the dedication to the patient, and the quality of care provided here. If you need dental work, I will 100% recommend this place. So what are you waiting for?

At Reflection Cosmetic Dentistry, I was immediately told about the bad condition my gums were in and how to correct the problem. The cost was explained in detail as well as the procedure. They were so professional and kind. I’ve already referred many of my friends and will continue to do so. Ray

Experiencia negativa: I went to this dentist about February marching complaining of tooth pain and he told me nothing was wrong and here I am on in December having to get three teeth pulled through oral surgeon so I'm going to lose three teeth because he didn't do his job. It seems all he was worried about was that stupid cleaning that cost $500. Knowing I'm on Medicare.
