Experiencia fantástica: i had concerns related to a recent CAT scan report that indicated problems could be caused by my dental health. i just happened to be scheduled for dental cleaning the next day. After the cleaning, Dr Edlund careful reviewed the scan report. He had me do a second CAT scan there in the office. Found the concerns to be possibly justified. He explained the results in language that i could understand, His office got me in to see a endodontist that same afternoon, where another CAT scan and more diagnostic procedures ruled out dental complications as a possible cause. The point of this story is that very very few practices are able to be flexible and thorough enough to meet patient needs in such a timely way. i really appreciate Edlund Dental. They got my wife in on an emergency basis during the COVID-19 shut down. After a thorough exam the dentist explained it was not actually a dental problem, but rather a skeletal-muscular problem. He very kindly and generously spent over an hour helping her with the problem. He explained the problem in detail, proscribed several exercises, practical treatments, life style changes and educated her about the problem. This was done on very short notice because we were concerned it could be very urgent and she was in great pain, and a very reasonable cost. This is a great dentist. We cannot express how appreciative we are of his professional skill and personal concern.

Experiencia fantástica: I CAN’T recommend Dr Edlund & crew enough. ESPECIALLY if you have dental anxiety, &/or medical conditions that cause mouth/teeth/gum issues! Firstly: I’ve always had dental anxiety that I feel has gotten worse over the years. I didn’t go to the dentist for a really long time (too ashamed to say how long exactly). Finally got the courage to be an adult & get my arse to the dentist. Partially because I knew I had a hole in my back molar that I didn’t want getting any bigger. Asked for dentist recommendations in one of my fb groups, as I wanted someone/a clinic that was queer friendly, & good w/those who have dental/dentist anxiety. Not once did Dr Edlund make me feel bad, or ashamed for avoiding the dentist as long as I did. Nor did he scold or shame me for the state of my mouth/gums/teeth. In fact, he commended me for finally doing the right thing & coming in. Naturally my mouth was a hot mess. I had to do periodontal scaling of the whole mouth, & get 6 cavities filled. All of which was broken up into 4 sessions. None of which was fun, but it had to be done, & all the staff I dealt w/for each session were so kind & understanding. Gave me as many breaks as needed, & constantly asked how I was doing. Currently I’m on their periodontal treatment plan, meaning I see them 3x a year instead of 2x. Despite my normal dental anxieties, I never usually cry, I just get the butterflies & slightly increased heart palpitations. However for some reason at my last cleaning, I checked in w/the front desk, sat down & immediately started crying & couldn’t stop. The moment the hygienist (wish I remembered her name) called me back, I told her I was apparently having extra anxiety for some unknown reason, & thru my own tears asked her to bear w/me. Immediately, w/just her words alone, she was able to put me at ease, reassure me that she’d take things slow, & make everything as comfortable as she could for me. I told her some of the specific things that I dislike the most about the whole dental process, & she said she would keep those things to as minimal as poss. Then when Dr Edlund came into examine me, she immediately relayed everything to him. In addition to my dental anxieties, I also have some complex genetic disorders that are the primary cause of my dental issues. Health issues I was not diagnosed with/even fully aware of until a few years back, the primary being Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). EDS (a faulty collagen/connective tissue disorder) causes receding gums, & we're also prone to cavities (among other things). Additionally a common comorbidity to EDS is a condition called mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), & something MCAS does is cause us to not react as easily to anesthesia &/or locals. We also metabolize them so much faster than the average individual. Thus we often require a higher dose in order to get numb, &/or for it to last the whole procedure. We’re the redheads of the medical world! Once I told Dr Edlund I had EDS, he immediately knew I would need a different protocol for any procedures. So when I was in for a filling recently, he gave me a 3 injection EDS “cocktail”, to make sure I didn’t feel a thing. Gave them to me at 9am, & told me the average person would be numb until 10-11pm. Then instructed me to call them & them exactly when they wore off, so we could document my chart, & adjust in the future as/if needed. That alone to me just showed how thorough & knowledgeable Dr Edlund is. Oh, & if you’re curious, the locals started wearing off around 12:30pm. I was no longer numb by 2pm. Ok, this review has gotten very long winded (hello AUDHD, & my inability to use as few of words as poss). But it felt important to mention all of the above, in case there is anyone out there w/similar anxieties &/or health issues, who perhaps needs a new dentist, & just happen to come across this review. If you’ve made it thru this novel, I applaud you. If you’ve made it thru this novel & are still on the fence about seeing Dr Edlund, then I cannot help you. I just say to give him/them ONE chance. You will not be disappointed!

Front desk staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with helping me set up a savings plan as an alternative to not having dental insurance. I’m blown away by how patient and kind the dentist and hygienists were. The visit didn’t feel rushed and the level of communication about the process, my oral health, and after care was above and beyond.

The Edlund team seems like a family and goes out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. Last week I was there to have my 7 year kid’s extra “shark tooth” pulled, and this week they fit us in last minute for my 10 year old who cracked what turned out to be a baby tooth. And it is close quarters, so I am grateful for the care they take in making sure I am comfortable and feel heard. My last scheduled appointment is in 2 weeks and it will be 2 extractions with some other work; it is so nice not dreading it.....I am a new patient, they have done their jobs well. Experiencia fantástica: This practice is fantastic. I have gone to 4 different dental clinics in the last 10 years, and Edlund Dental is my favorite by far. They go the extra mile, and they treat conservatively and are careful to avoid unnecessary interventions. I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Edlund and his practice, and that they take my insurance. On several occasions, Dr. Edlund and/or Dr. McGraw have taken extra time to work with me on some dental issues to ensure the best possible outcome for me - and they did this with no benefit to themselves (insurance wasn't paying for this time). I'm not sure how they are not rushed and frazzled with such a busy practice, but the staff and dentists have always been patient, kind, and present with me. I really appreciate this exceptional level of care.

I got in same day, and this was the first time I've ever met Dr. Edlund, which he even pointed out. He was so great at explaining everything he was doing and getting my input beforehand. He has a great sense of humor and is so professional, but it's the way he works with his colleagues I enjoyed the most. He shows them so much respect, positively reinforces immediately, and is very courteous to them during the time they sit together with a patient. He took the time to fill me in on another dentist who had left to start her own practice, praising her and being a proud colleague of someone who grew and left to start their own practice. That's leadership and a good boss. The staff here are all very meticulous about dentistry. The x-rays and equipment are top of the line, and I've never had a complaint about coming here. They're great!
