Experiencia fantástica: We had a wonderful first visit at Blue Coral. We were greeted with a welcoming smile and did not have to wait in the lobby long. We like the Montessori style toys in the waiting room. We were taken back by a very kind and patient dental assistant. They had Bluey on the ceiling tv so my daughter was instantly smiling. She was given sunglasses and told everything they were planning to do. It all went well. It seemed like a well ran office. My daughter especially appreciated the balloon at the end and getting stickers. We are looking forward to our next cleaning!

Experiencia negativa: I just received a call from the clinic—two hours before my child's scheduled appointment, which we had been waiting weeks for—saying they had to reschedule for reasons that weren't even clear. When we tried to explain that no other time worked for us and that calling just two hours beforehand was inhumane, all we got was an apology. They offered to switch us to another doctor, but that particular female doctor has a terrible way of dealing with children; my child cried during our last visit with her.

Experiencia fantástica: We have been coming here with all my kiddos for the last 3 years. They are 2, 9, 10, 13, and 16.. we have always had a great experience but today topped it for me! My 13 year old daughter had a double appointment today. Fillings @ dentistry followed by an ortho evaluation. From the minute we started her fillings the hygienist and the doctor kept her calm and talked her through the entire procedure. She has never had dental work done with novocaine so she was super nervous. They did a great job, keeping her at ease and safe! Following her fillings we saw Dr Sara/Sarah(not sure which way it is spelled) and she was fantastic! She answered all of our questions, explained things that she saw with my daughters mouth (that by the way… I had never been told by any other ortho/provider period), then explained these to me, and told me her honest professional opinion. I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience! I genuinely trust in my children’s care for dentistry and now ortho here! We are having my daughter’s braces done with them in August and I feel completely at ease with them! HIGHLY recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: I was really impressed with the quality of dental care for my 5 year old. He had two fillings and a molar extraction. They gave me the option to sit with him through the entire visit and so I can say with first hand certainty that Dr Patricia Casey did excellent work and they made my son as comfortable as possible. I appreciate the confidence in their dentists and trust in the parents to be open to having parents come sit with kids during dental procedures. Healing time was minimal and recovery time was quick which again indicates that the work was done very well. Billing insurance and charges were explained up front before any work was done and costs were reasonable. Highly recommend!

Overall, a great visit and we’ll definitely be coming back.

Experiencia fantástica: My son has been going here for about three years now and we won’t be going anywhere else. Yesterday we had to do a procedure for him and it was our first time having one of our children have to go under for general anesthesia so we were worried. Dr. Casey and staff made sure to make us comfortable and answered all the questions and concerns we had. With updates on how he was doing during the procedure and all. Our son is shy but the staff there when it comes to cleanings, follow-ups and during and after the surgery were nothing but compassionate and friendly to us. He went to the back with no fuss without my husband and I while they prepped him. They made sure to explain what they were doing before they did it had him feel comfortable with all the tools and stuff they had to use during cleanings and checkups and got him comfortable. To the point where he is excited to go to the dentist. To me that is a huge win. The dentist can be overwhelming and scary but after our first visit he acted like it was just somewhere to go play and get prizes and balloons. Haha but in all seriousness my husband and I 100% recommend Blue Coral crystal lake for their friendly staff and comfortable environment. As well for us parents it was a huge relief to have staff up front and no hidden fees and actually went over (broke down) the treatment plan and fees nothing was hidden and pushed onto us. They were all in it for our son to help him become healthier. So if you’re looking for a good pediatrician dentistry please give them a chance. You won’t be disappointed.

He's never had dental work done before, mostly because his autism/anxiety/adhd had me worried he wouldn't be able to get through it and we would get sent away (it happened before with my oldest child when he was about the same age and couldn't even get through a nitrous oxide treatment). However, with a huge cavity causing him pain, followed by a dental abscess adding to the pain and causing his cheek to swell.. he *wanted* to go. Blue Coral staff guided me through what to do about the abscess before his surgery date and let me know that they do accept care credit for parents who can't cover the post-insurance fees all at once (anesthesiologist accepts it too, but you have to let them know that's what you're using so they can send the form because their website doesn't recognize it as a payment method). Pre- and post- op instructions were simple and clear. I waited in the lobby, but they had him put to sleep so fast! They kept me updated throughout the wait; when he was asleep, what work was about to be done, and let me know that it was all completed. They briefed me on the post-op instructions and then it wasn't long before being brought back to see him. He was still really groggy, but still able to understand/answer questions. I did tell him prior to the appointment that I would carry him to the car, but they offered to wheel him out so I left it up to him and he chose the wheel chair ride! He thinks it's pretty cool that he has some silver teeth now and is happy to have been able to bring his extracted teeth home to put under his pillow for the tooth fairy! I was told it's common for kids to be emotional/grumpy for an hour or so after surgery, but he actually has been great! Minor mouth pains just a few times but a couple rounds of a gel ice pack and a dose of Motrin after the specified time via post-op instructions and he was fine. Very great experience!

Experiencia fantástica: Kids have been seeing Dr Lin for over 14 years. The office is a fun and kid friendly atmosphere. Very modern and up to date to the newest technology . Staff are so kind and friendly from the moment you walk thru their doors. The hygienist are unremarkable. Dr. Lin is the most genuine dentist and makes it so fun for the kids. There is absolutely no dentist like him and he strives to make the kids comfortable and make it a fun experience. My kids just love love him. Highly recommend Dr. Lin.

Experiencia fantástica: Our children have been going to Blue Coral Pediatric Dentistry in Crystal Lake for approximately 5 years now and they love going each time. They are a little sad that Dr. Klarck isn't there anymore but Dr. Daniela Barrera who saw my children for the first time for a dental cleaning was extremely patient and thorough with the kiddos and with us, parents. We moved from Elgin to Algonquin in 2017 and would drive to Kids First Pediatric Dentistry since I have a son on the spectrum and have established a rapport with dentist there until a bad experience due to last minute doctor change that we weren't informed of until we arrived. A friend recommended Dr. Klarck at Blue Coral Pediatric Dentistry who was very patient with our son who has sensory processing difficulties and who needs extra time. Although, we were informed that Dr. Klarck wouldn't see our son and daughter, and that a new dentist, Dr. Daniela would, we decided to give it a chance since the staff there have always been great with my son and with my daughter. I was very impressed with how well Dr. Barrera treated my son and explained and demonstrated each step of the cleaning (and with his tooth extraction) without me telling her that's he's on the spectrum. She made my mother heart very happy and made me know that my son was safe in her hands since her calm and patient demeanor was very reassuring. Thank you to Dr. Barrera for you excellent bedside manners and thank you to Michelle, Fabi, Ashley and Dawn for being so kind and patient with our children. If you are looking for a pediatric dentistry, Blue Coral Pediatric Dentistry is your place to go to since the staff that are part of the team there are warm, friendly and very patient. They show empathy and that's what made me stay at this location even though Dr. Klarck is no longer with this group. Dr. Daniela Barrera was amazing.

Experiencia negativa: We brought our child to this dental office for a procedure that required anesthesia, during which five baby teeth were removed. Considering how serious this procedure was, we were very surprised and disappointed by the lack of follow-up afterward. No one from the office ever called to check on how our child was feeling after anesthesia. We were not offered or even informed about space maintainers, which is something parents should be educated about after multiple teeth are removed. We also never received any follow-up emails or instructions. Overall, the communication and aftercare were extremely lacking, and as a parent, that is very concerning. Unfortunately, this was not the level of care or attention we expected, and we are highly disappointed.

Experiencia fantástica: We have spent years trying to find a dentist for our son. He has a strong gag reflex and can’t handle many smells or textures in his mouth. He’s 10 now and Blue Coral was the first office to ever 1- get x-rays and 2- complete a full cleaning. They are kind and thoughtful really do their best to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable while in their care.

I don't know what kind of witchery this place implements but after several failed attempts to get my kid to comply with dentistry I tried this place. I can not express how insanely grateful I am to have found them, their staff and the magic they have with really hard children. 50 stars for me.

Super gentle, understanding and an excellent listener. Update: while Dr. Binary has moved on to other pastures, the chair side manner is still good. The techs listen very well. My daughter's have MTHFR, unbale to receive nitrous. Today my daughter's experience while at first was uncomfortable with a procedure. The Dr and assistant were very quick to stop, give more numbing agent allow it to settle and continue with little to no discomfort. Dr explained everything and more importantly has a more understanding of patients with MTHFR.

The hygienist and Dentist were both great with the kids and explained everything throughly in a kid friendly manner. My 2 year old barely let's me brush her teeth and she had no issues with them. Experiencia fantástica: Recently moved over to this practice after wanting a second opinion on some dental work needed on my 6 year old. She has ADHD, high functioning autism and sensory processing disorder. She has had anxiety, specifically towards dental appointments, since her first appointment and the other practice had the attitude of just get it done and she'll get over it. Unfortunately it didn't help make appointments any better. After getting a second opinion, not only did they see that less dental work was actually needed, but they had amazing bedside manner that put my daughter at ease. They were so patient and kind as well as very thorough in explaining to my daughter what was going to be done. Definitely a great place for kids with sensory issues. I have moved both my children over to this practice.

Experiencia fantástica: Blue Coral is a great office with professional staff who really are very great with all of my kids. Dr. Lin is a wonderful dentist, especially wonderful with children. Today specifically he went above and beyond with my son. He did 2 fillings with confidence that no medication should be needed and my son would be comfortable. It went very well. My son trusted him and the process was as smooth as can be. I am very much an advocate for less meds, tests, etc. And he is very understanding of my wishes. He does educate his best knowledge from his sources, but also respects my decisions. I did have some disagreements with XRs, and he allowed me to delay to every couple years for my children and we came to a compromise. He also respected that I do second and third opinions to gather all knowledge I can and Dr. Lin never became defensive about it at all. Even with the other opinions, I still decided to stay with Blue Coral, as I do trust him and greatly value the fact that he is my children's dentist.

Experiencia fantástica: Great customer service from the time I called in to inquire about new clients and our insurance, to taking my kiddo in for her appointment. We were able to get scheduled lighting fast (4 days later) and even on a Saturday! The office is very clean, front desk staff is very friendly and organized, and our Hygienist and Dentist were both very gentle and thorough. My kiddo told me as I was checking out that she wanted to come back to visit everyone again, and had fun playing games in the waiting room.That’s a first! I know she also liked the goodie bag because she talked all about it on the entire way home. No anxiety. Big win!

Most times he needs to be medicated before his appointments but the last 6 appointments he has had he has not needed his meds. Dr George and his staff especially Ashley and Joanna my sons hygienists are amazing. Such patience is important for a special needs young man completely amazes me. We are so thankful for them. Experiencia negativa: After over 8 years or referring thousands of my patients here, I took my 7 year old whom needed a cavity filled. We called and said we wanted an apt with Dr. Lin, after we verified he is in network with our insurance. We told them in the booking phone call all insurance details, company, policy #, etc. They scheduled the appointment with a different provider who is NOT in network unbeknownst to us. 14 minutes in the room for both consultation and evaluation and we were done. Was told could use nitrous and do it all at once. Was walked to the front desk and asked for a $250 non refundable deposit for the next appointment and a $500 non-refundable deposit for the general anesthesia, the rest due morning of appointment (over $1,500 total).. WHAT? None of that was discussed. I corrected her and said we were just told in the room 30 seconds ago no anesthesia.. she got the dentist and she came to the counter to loudly discuss at the front desk in front of 3+ other families.. It was a rushed disaster. They said they would have a coordinator call me. Coordinator called me a week or two later, had no information and couldn’t answer any questions. Had to call me back four times in one day instead of just tossing the dentist on the phone for 3 minutes and stop playing back and forth. Said a different provider at another of their location could/would do it (also out of network) but at Laurie’s under sedation due to “his increased bleeding risk”… what bleeding risk? He has no increased bleeding risk.. said she’d call me back Monday 10/06, well instead on 10/11 I get a letter in the mail saying they don’t feel comfortable having him as a patient and feel they “cannot handle him safely” and to go elsewhere. A short, rude, dismissive letter, with no provider recommendations. Just a simple “we don’t want to”. All of this because he has ADHD… Should have known better when a patient reported they pulled the wrong tooth from their child.. red flags are there people, lots of them. Trash practice of scam artists. Ever since Lin got bought out by Blue Coral.

Experiencia fantástica: Our daughter is always spoken to with respect and kindness by every person in the Crystal Lake office from the office manager to the dentist Ashley , the tech, is brilliant, kind and listens well. Casey has no anxiety at all about coming here at all. As a teacher I watch to see how doctors listen and teach so our daughter is empowered and we have been at this practice for years.

My 3 kids all have different personalities, comfort levels with dentist visits, and needs but somehow Blue Coral consistently gives them all great experiences. Their dentists and hygienists are great but special shout out to their front desk staff who are so friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. My only complaint… they won’t take adult patients!

Experiencia negativa: I would not recommend this practice based on our experience. I initially brought my son in and was told he had four cavities. The dentist was quick to comment on our home habits, advising me to limit juice and candy—though we don’t keep those in our home and my son spoke up and said he does not have those items at home, as well. She also made an unnecessary comparison between my children’s teeth, which felt unprofessional - after looking at my son and then my daughter “Oh wow, her teeth are beautiful.” Wanting to be sure, I took my son to our family dentist for a second opinion. After new x-rays and a thorough exam, she only found two cavities, not four. She also reassured me that my son’s dental hygiene was good and that he didn’t need prescription toothpaste, contrary to what was originally recommended. Coincidentally, I received a notice the same day stating that insurance had approved coverage for four cavities, which made me question the initial diagnosis even more. As stated in other reviews, do not come here if your children have dental anxiety as the dentist did not introduce herself to him or me or spend any time explaining or talking to my son to calm his fears, but she rather made it worse by stating everything bad in front of him to frighten him. After we went to my dentist with my son, he said “Wow, mom. I love it here. I feel comfortable. The other dentist was mean to me.” This made me very sad. So, some might love it here, but we will not be back.

Experiencia fantástica: Blue Coral saw three of my kids for the first time this week. They were welcoming and friendly and made my kids feel comfortable from entering the building. They explained everything and kept them calm throughout the entire appointment and experience. My kids don't necessarily enjoy going to the dentist although they don't have a major anxiety about it. After leaving the office, they were excited about their new dentist and looking forward to coming back. Thank you!

Their communication is absolutely wonderful with the parents, and they also know how to talk to the kids to put them at ease. Could not imagine taking my son anywhere other than blue coral pediatric dentistry. Highly recommend them to any parents that want a pediatric dentist practice that truly cares about their patients. My son has had cavities filled twice. He is terrified of needles they did it under anesthesia. No complications. We were very anxious about it leading up to the appointment, and he took the extra time to explain all of our options and what to expect. The surgery itself was extremely simple and much better than we expected. We’re very happy!

He walked us through the whole procedure with kindness, patience, and clarity, answering all of our questions and making us feel completely at ease. The procedure itself was incredibly fast, and Dr. Lin’s calm, friendly, and funny demeanor made such a difference during what could have been a stressful time. He is not only highly knowledgeable and professional but also warm and personable, truly a rare combination. We had such a positive experience that we came back when it was time to get her teeth cleaned. The dental hygienists are fantastic and three kids later we still continue to have positive experiences. He didn’t rush through the appointment and actually listened to my concerns & questions, and explained everything in a way I’d understand. I’m glad we’ve found a dentist so close to our home also! 10/10 would recommend to friends and family!
