Experiencia negativa: Updated Review 1/8/26: Unfortunately I need to update my review after a few unfortunate things happened. I ended my services a few weeks ago with (potential) bad news and the acknowledgement that they messed up and should have serviced one tooth before another tooth. Because of scheduling difficulties at the office, there was quite a bit of time between servicing one tooth and then the other. While that was an underlying issue, my main concern is that I alerted the check-out team to my displeasure (there was also an insurance issue where their receptionist didn't charge me correctly upon arriving and I was being charged additional money after receiving bad news) and asked to talk to someone. I was informed that the office manager was out of the office and that she would call me back to discuss my issues after returning to the office. I was also told that I would recieve an email with follow up treatment information and that my balance would be deferred until I could speak with the offce manager. This was around a month ago. I haven't recieved a phone call or email, but I HAVE received a bill in the mail for that remaining balance. I'm not sure what's going on in this office with the admin team, but its not good. Sadly, I have transitioned to a new dental team. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Five stars for Dr. P and staff as well as technology and solutions that they offer at this practice for Holistic Dentistry. Three stars for scheduling; they just don’t have enough man hours to take care of everyone that needs to be seen. I had an awesome first appointment where they found a couple of issues that needed to be addressed. When we looked at the schedule to address those issues, I couldn’t get in until 7 months later. My dental tech was great with providing me with some suggestions on what to do until my follow up appointment, but I would have liked to take care of my dental issues ASAP and not wait 7 months. They do have a cancellation/waitlist in case you can swing it when they call with a last minute appointment.

I received care here during my pregnancy and they always made sure I was comfortable with the plan and during the appointment. The waiting room is crowded, but has a family feel. The X-ray machine seems outdated, but works. Everyone was nice and I am confident I'm getting good care.

Experiencia positiva: My experience with PFD has largely been a good one. Recently however I waited weeks for a cleaning and must cancel within 48 hours of my appointment if I don't want to be charged $150, but when I arrived I was told I was overdue so they only did x-rays and checked my teeth and tried to reschedule my cleaning for the following day when I already had other appointments. Rather than giving me the service that I had an appointment for they build me for that day and then tried to schedule me for the following day to Bill me again. My insurance only pays a certain amount per year for dental care and I feel like I did not need to be billed twice for one scheduled service. They also do not include anesthetics like nitrous oxide and they also promote using laser technology which are both out-of-pocket costs even though my insurance pays for anesthesia. Perhaps it's time to find a dentist with all inclusive service that doesn't try to get two appointments paid for by insurance for the same service.

Experiencia negativa: Okay experience, not the greatest though. I called to make an appointment, that went well! I was scheduled as a consult for a problem with one of my teeth. I have dental insurance but was never told prior to walking in that the OOP patient responsibility was $449. Now, I understand that there needs to be payment for treatment, but to not even mention the price beforehand and let me know that they weren't going to bill anything to insurance would have just been good to know! I was heading out of town right after the appointment so I had to jump through hoops to okay the amount with my bank so I could keep my appointment. After I was taken back they informed me that the CBCT machine was down right now and they couldn't even do the CT. They did refund my card, but was a little annoyed that I spent time trying to figure it out when they knew the CBCT wasn't up and running! I also was frustrated because I have 2 current CBCT scans from other offices I could have brought with me, but they didn't even ask when scheduling the appointment if I had any current X-rays nor did they tell me they were going to take the scans which would have lead me to tell them I can bring the ones I already have! The other thing that kind of bothered me was that I was referred to this dentist by my own dentist for the extraction of the tooth(hence the consult), but instead of scheduling something they just referred me to another oral surgeon. I kind of felt like they just had me in to make a couple bucks then send me off to someone else. I was kind of upset I drove an hour to be told to go somewhere else... Glad I didn't have to pay the $449 to hear the news though! The dentist and dental assistant were MARVELOUS! Truly great! But the stress and lack of communication from the front was a very sour experience. **UPDATE** Upon further investigation I did find out my insurance would have covered the CBCT scan at full cost! Precision told me that they don't bill to insurance because it wouldn't be covered... now I am just confused I guess? It sounds like there should be some retraining or extra eyes and hands to help out up front. The office was kind of like a mullet...bad business in the front, great party in the back!

Experiencia negativa: I appreciate that hygienist Katie educates me on my oral hygiene and how to take the best care of my teeth. *Update* Ultimately, we had to go elsewhere for care due to the high treatment costs. Every time I had a visit, the costs seemed to go up. The staff was very friendly, but it was unaffordable, even with insurance.

Friendly attractive staff is always upbeat and seem genuinely concerned about you and their service. Willing to admit a mistake if it happens (not common)! Easy to find convenient location. Very happy with this office. I am in the process of getting implants based on their expert advice after previously declining elsewhere, so very glad I did as this things are going much more smoothly than I had anticipated. Experiencia fantástica: Hard to sum up Percision Family Dental in only a short paragraph, but I'll try. Had to find a skilled, and well educated dentist after my old one quit participating with insurance. After a ton of researching, I went to Percision. I made the right choice! Unbelievable care! The staff, ( every one of them!) Is TRUELY deducted to making a scary place, not scary. I've never been to a dentist without being apprehensive, but I wasn't here! Im looking at some pretty extensive dental work, but Dr Ong and his assistant, helped me make a game to get back my smile. I am honestly blown away how careful Dr Ong was. The entire staff, from reception to billing was so helpful. They answered all questions honestly and extensively. The ATMOSPHERE at Percision Family Dental is different from any other place I've been. You would be wise to go here, check them out. Just be prepared to tell old dentist goodbye

Experiencia positiva: Not necessarily a bad experience, but not great either. We have gone above and beyond to ensure our kiddos dental health is maintained, but unfortunately they have something going on that isn’t right and they do end up with many cavities. We brush twice a day and floss once a day, heavily limit fruit juices, don’t allow pop or much candy, eat relatively healthy, etc. Yet we receive the same feedback and this dentist was no exception- “limit fruit juice and pop” - yeah, we know. Again, not a bad experience, but not much of an effort to help us really get ahead. After asking about it, they did offer a saliva test, but we wish that would have been brought up right away.

As nervous as I was going in, he quickly calmed my nerves and proceeded gently with the removal. I experienced very little discomfort during the removal and NO pain in the days after. I admire very much the use of my own blood cells for the healing process! Dr. Ong's technician (I am so sorry that I forgot her name) was fantastic; her attention and timing with the suction made the experience even more comfortable. I need major dental work and feel very comfortable with Dr Ong and his staff to give me the best treatment available. The staff is actually a lot of fun, so it's not so bad going to the dentist!

Experiencia fantástica: No one likes dental work especially when extractions are involved BUT if you need it done, Precision Family Dental with Dr. Poitrowski & his team is the best place! He really cares & understands that dental health is directly related to whole body health. He uses techniques and cares for teeth in ways NO ONE I have ever encountered does. My husbands infections were so bad they were effecting other areas of his health. We are SO very appreciative of the confidence and peace his work has given us. Let the whole body healing begin! It's a wait to get in but its WORTH it!

Experiencia negativa: I would never return to this dentist even if it were the last one in Michigan. I started going here in October 2022, and every single appointment was a mess. I was constantly scheduled at the wrong times or for the wrong services. I’d drive over an hour, only to be told they didn’t have time to see me or that the dentist wasn’t available. I once came in for four filling removals and replacements, and they only did two, telling me I’d have to come back for the others, right before my insurance reset for the new year. Another time, I showed up for a cleaning and consult with Dr. Petrowski, and they told me they didn’t have time for the cleaning and I needed new X-rays, despite just having a 360 scan a week earlier. I paid out of pocket every time, often hundreds or thousands in cash. Then out of nowhere, I received a $1,200 bill for services from 2022, with no explanation. No one mentioned this balance during the many times I discussed billing with their office, even when I specifically asked. It took me an entire year just to get a consult for TMJ issues. The front desk kept scheduling me for the wrong things. When I finally got in, I was given a rushed 5-minute pitch about needing an $8,000 cavitation surgery, with no real explanation, and no alternative options. That’s what I waited a year for. This office is highly disorganized. I was constantly rescheduled, often same-day, and treated like an inconvenience. They want you in and out, and they want your money. Also, if you’re being told you need cavitation surgery, root canal alternatives, or amalgam removal, please do your own research. Many “holistic” dentists are still working from outdated models. Cavitations can only be confirmed with a cone beam CT scan. Look into Dr. Dominik Nischwitz if you're considering any of these procedures, because when done incorrectly, the results can be life-altering. After leaving an honest review, this dentist refused to treat me any further, which speaks volumes. which only confirms how poorly they treat patients who advocate for themselves.

Experiencia negativa: July 2025 - second update ‍ It just gets better. The same gal called me again this morning, asking if I’d like to schedule a time to come in, so that they can look at the crown. I told her we were not coming back and were going elsewhere. She then said “Umm, okay. So when can we get you in”. She wasn’t even listening to me. When I first answered the call, I heard something about AI recording - was this actually an AI asst?! Weird! July 2025 Update - We have now moved our family to another dentist. The final straw was my crown falling out, less than 2 years after placement. Then just this week our daughter's crown also fell out, just over a year after placement. Neither of us was eating anything at the time. This is in addition to being overcharged 3 consecutive years - to the tune of several thousand dollars and only because I questioned the charges (which they make you pay before treatment and before insurance has paid out), did they refund me the overpayment. They also have recently started offering you extra insurance for their work, if a procedure fails. I have never heard of that. Their work should stand alone and not need an extra warranty. They get a one star because their staff is friendly. ***** I have liked our clinical experience at Precision. The staff is friendly and thorough. However, I have been greatly disappointed by their billing practices. They have overcharged me 2 consecutive years. Both times I discovered it on my own, after double checking my fees with my insurance company. Precision did not find the error until I reached out to them and each time it involved multiple calls on my end and an overcharge of $700-$900 each time. The most recent experience involved 3 different amounts - what the invoice said I paid, what my credit card was actually charged, and what the insurance said was my fee. I have still not received an answer as to why there were 3 different amounts. I have left 3 messages over the past month for Dr. Adam to call me and speak with me directly about this and have not received a call back. I would think he would want to know that his office is overcharging their patients. I am greatly disappointed in the lack of communication from Dr. Adam on this matter.

Experiencia fantástica: I just got done having two bridges put in by PFD’s Dr. Cohen with Ella assisting, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. These are rather prominent features in my smile, and their workmanship and attention to detail was impeccable. The value for the money also exceeded my expectations. As a new patient to this practice I am so happy that I was introduced to these folks and look forward to years of exceptional work. Well done team!

Experiencia fantástica: I have experience with 2 of the great Drs and several of the hygienists. This office strives to bring top notch care, compassion and yes, even some fun to your appointment. You are treated as a friend, but with great respect and professionalism. I've recently had a crown made by Dr Cohen. She gives the best , most painless shots ever! And my crown fits wonderfully. My daughter had surgery with Dr P on a bone graft from an oral surgeon that left her with infected bone. Holistically, this could have set her up for chronic health problems in her future. Having a Dentist of Dr P's caliber, and working in the biologic, holistic realm in Grand Rapids is fantastic, and such a needed specialty in our area. I highly recommend Precision family dental!

The naturopathic care is far superior to any other oral care provider I have experienced. The only downside is that my insurance did not cover the “alternative” care that they provide so it was quite expensive.
