Experiencia fantástica: This is the best Dentist office i have been to, taken care of for the past 5+ years. All staff and The Dr is amazing, but the most is how they take care of your teeth. Paula Diez has been my Dental hygienist for the past 5 + years and she is excellent the cleaning of your teeth is out of this world she truly cleans them to perfection. I recommend 1000% Modern Smiles at Narcoossee Rd, if you want your teeth for a lifetime this is the place to come to.

Experiencia positiva: I'm very disappointed with how this office handled my insurance and appointment. Last week, I called to schedule a cleaning, clearly gave them my dental insurance, and they told me they accept it and booked a time for me. Before the appointment, I never received any text, phone call, or email saying they do NOT accept my insurance. On their website and on the phone, they clearly said they accept my insurance. On the day of the appointment, I cleared my schedule and came in, and the front desk suddenly told me they don't take my insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket. They claimed they had notified me, but the only message I received that day was an email reminder a couple of hours before the appointment, confirming that I still had the appointment. My time was completely wasted, and I left without treatment. I will be going to another office that can verify insurance properly。

Experiencia negativa: Worst experience I’ve ever had. Was upfront with them and let them know I just wanted a general cleaning. After 2+ hours of X-rays, chatting, and waiting, I learned that I HAD to go with a more expensive cleaning (no other option). After all of the time and pain there, I left with nothing. Would give it 0 stars if I could. No follow up, no questions, reasoning, etc from them.

My youngest daughter was scared to death to get her teeth cleaned/checked for the first time, but, the staff coerced her into getting it done and now she's a pro at it. We always look forward to going back.

Also the equipment used Was very modern to match their name :-). This is the first time I have received an oral cancer screening using a fluorescent light which is just part of the exam. Also, the dentist - Dr. S, asked me At least two times if I had any questions. I appreciate that the office respected that I declined fluoride treatment and were not pushy at all. Leaving the office now and my teeth feel spotless – Maria did a great job With the cleaning and flossing!

The front desk receptionist was friendly, personable, and got me in and out seamlessly. The hygienist and dentist were first class, and the scale of their technology was extraordinary. If you are looking for a dentist be prepared to enjoy a World Class experience.

Experiencia negativa: Clearly pointed out on first visit that I could only afford services covered by the dental insurance and also gave knowledge of my latest dental appointments. They went ahead and did X-rays without giving us the option to decline and now to find out they’re not covered by insurance and slamming us with an invoice. Maybe, next time do what every other dentist does and check for coverage ahead of time or let the patient decide if they want to get the extra treatment or not, instead of burdening them with financial stress for not needed services.

Experiencia fantástica: I have a bad gag reflex with X-rays and the team rallied and helped get my X-rays done quickly and did not make me feel like a problem! I asked the tv to be turned off and silence rather than conversation and they granted me those privileges! Michael was the assistant and he was positive and helpful! The name Modern really fits as the office because their techniques- teeth 360 degree model - periodontal exam - Doctor exam - and separate hygienist area were exceptional and thorough. I know all about my teeth now and received good advice about where I’m missing the mark on flossing and brushing because they could point to the screen. The teeth cleaning was excellent so I’ve decided to get it done every three months and they gave me a great deal since my insurance won’t cover those extra cleanings! Everyone who works there is professional and attractive!

Experiencia negativa: In early 2021, I used this dentist. During the check up it was pointed that two of my back teeth which had old fillings were developing fine cracks and the dentist recommended to do the crowns on both. They checked with my insurance and got approval for the treatment and gave me the balance that I had to pay. I agreed and signed the consent to proceed and payed my share upfront and the crowns were installed. The back off filed insurance claims multiple times. Insurance paid some and rejected others with reason as “Duplicated submissions”. They kept on resubmitting and insurance kept on rejecting some of the submissions. Finally, they gave up and asked me to pay about $700 in addition to what the original estimate was that I agreed to. I refused to pay the additional amount, because of their inadequate billing practices. After some time they sent the balance to collection agency and refused to settle or adjust. Right after my initial treatment, I had a superficial small part of my front lower tooth chipped off, which was filled before. When I asked the dentist to take a look and guess what was his first recommendation. Another crown! Since then, I moved to another dentist to save the misery. I do not recommend this dentist for these reasons and you can spare yourself too from bad dental practices. ----------------- After posting the review, i received their reply to contact them to resolve the issue... However, when i reached out to their office, they put me to voice mail to leave message and they never responded to my request. I repeated this process few times and finally gave up on any hope to resolve the issue. It seems just a tactic, they really don't care.

Experiencia negativa: A scam of a dentistry. Trying to tell my wife she needs antibiotics and requiring a “special cleaning”. She’s gone to the dentist every 6 months but they try to say she had bone decay at the age of 24 with perfect teeth. I recommend you get a second opinion before you let this dentist scam you out of your money for unnecessary treatment.

Update: I have been a patient with the office for a couple years now. I just had another routine cleaning and my opinion has not changed about how great all the people are here at this office. Experiencia negativa: If you start getting ortodoncia, keep in mind that they will delay your treatment as long as possible, just because they expect to receive money from your insurance every month. I realized this because after almost 2 years of treatment I changed the dentist plan PPO but with the same insurance and although I paid for my Invisalign in advance (almost $2000 out of pocket) they stopped the treatment and tried to charge me $237 plus the retainers $500, he told me that my insurance would not cover my last appointment and the retainers, but the real reason was that when I changed my plan with the same insurance it no longer allowed them to charge me monthly, by the way, they had told me before that the treatment did include the retainers and I wouldn't had to pay nothing additional, but in the end it was a different story.

They got me an appointment quick and easy online, and when they called to confirm they were able to move it even earlier. Staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. They helped address any of my concerns and plan for future necessary visits. Any charges were explained ahead of time so there was full transparency towards anything I had to pay for after insurance.

Experiencia negativa: If I could leave no stars I would. Just save your time and money. They were no help and the doctor told me my past experience with them went through one ear and out the other and it didn’t matter. I’ve been having the same issue with them for a while now. They messed up my Invisalign and just don’t want to take the blame for it. Instead they’d rather charge me the entire $4000 again and tell me they give out promotions for Invisalign in March. Not to mention the doctor put on gloves told me to open and that’s it.. that’s all he did for the evaluation. I left pissed off and time wasted. They always have new doctors and new staff but they all have the same behaviors as the people who worked there previously. Rude and unhelpful.

They were so careful barely felt anything super accommodating with tv and nice conversations.. going back in a month to make sure antibiotic shots are doing their job. Haven’t been to a dentist in a few years but honestly looking forward to going back. Even paid less than quoted with 15% off w a toy drive. They really care and it completely shows. Dr S really knew his stuff and made it really easy to understand what was going on. 10/10

Experiencia negativa: an assistant was so rude to my teenage sister that had to go to her appointment by herself. do better than bullying literal children. not only that but this is her 3rd time starting invisalign because they will literally refuse to contact back. so disappointing, retrain your staff and i hope the fully grown woman that treated my sister so poorly gets some proper training and learns how to communicate and treat everyone like a real human being and with respect.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently had my annual checkup at this place. Andreina was professional, knowledgeable and thorough in her work. She answered all of my questions and was very patient with me. I have sensitivity in some areas, and she went out of her way so that I didn’t feel any discomfort during the cleaning. The receptionists were friendly, too. Although the service was a bit pricey, the excellent care and results were worth it. I will definitely be returning for my next appointment.

For them to figure out there was a mistake and ask them to ship it back. If it wasn’t my insistence she would have her treatment interrupted after more than a year. The attendant wasn’t even sorry or apologize for the mistake, lake of information and for no one have called me back after three weeks calling them. Very upsetting and disappointing!

The dentist is very thorough in explaining the process with my Invisalign. In a society where no one seems to care anymore, that’s not the case here - I also convinced my husband to come here and he is also very pleased with their services!!!

Experiencia fantástica: First time coming to Modern Smiles Dentistry. Everyone was perfectly kind, welcoming, and professional from the start. The office and practices are very clean and hygienic. In addition to Dr. S, I was seen by the fabulous Fabianna (dental assistant) and wonderful Andreina (hygienist), and they were all great. From my experience, they actively listen when you have something to share, and make the process as quick and comfortable as possible. I also didn't have a cleaning scheduled for today due to the emergency nature of making my appt, but they were able to check and do the cleaning the same day once I was in the office. The cleaning was very thorough, and I could tell when Andreina went back in to a spot she wasn't totally satisfied with. My mouth feels really clean. This may seem small, but I also really appreciate the pegs on the wall to hang your purse, because not every office has them. Lastly, I don't have dental insurance but had to see a dentist due to an extremely painful tooth, and this appt didn't break my bank like I thought it would. Will be glad to be back and to recommend to others. Thanks!

Experiencia positiva: The facility and the doctor are wonderful. The new hygienist I saw today however was the worst I’ve had in my entire life. I’ve had the same cleanings over the past 4 years of being a patient and I have never experienced so much pain in my life. She started the tools directly on my gum which resulted in unnecessary bleeding. This was worse pain than all of my tattoos combined.
