Experiencia fantástica: This dental office removed all four of my wisdom teeth at once. They communicated clearly leading up the process, to following up with the individual who drove me home to ensuring I made it safely home post op, to following up days after to make sure I was doing okay and healing properly. I had a scare of food getting stuck In one of the areas of tooth removal. I reached out after hours and they texted back promptly, reassuring me and guiding me on what to do and even offered an appointment for the next day if I needed it. They have been professional and caring. If you want great customer service, clean environment , great communication and genuinely good care. This is likely the dental office for you.

I continue to patronize Rio Mar and on my most recent visit I advised them that it seems that they are too delicate when cleaning my teeth and that they do not need to be concerned about my comfort and that I would appreciate it if they cleaned my teeth more aggressively. Without any discomfort (I likely have a very high pain threshold). As a result, they spent more time and effort cleaning my teeth and I was satisfied. They really accept feedback and are genuinely concerned about their patients. A true sign of Great Service! Dec 2023. Since I switched dentists nearly a year and half ago. I have continued to patronize Rio Mar Dental. They have a lot of available appointments and they are always ready for me even though I have a habit of always being a little early. They are very diligent and work quickly. The office is very clean, modern and has the latest technologies. They are very transparent regarding recommended treatment and costs and are very concerned about their patients comfort. June 2026 How the time fly's. They continue to provide great service. I was so comfortable and confident, I fell asleep while they cleaned and inspected my teeth with diligence. While I walked home my tongue rolled over their cleaned and polished work.

Experiencia negativa: this place is a money grab. if you wanna get overcharged and pay for a whole bunch of extra stuff that you don’t need, then this dentist is the right one for you! if not then go somewhere else. i went for a consultation to get my wisdom teeth removed. they are fully grown and not impacted at all. literally the easiest case of wisdom teeth extraction (as 2 other dentists literally told me when i went somewhere else afterwards) but this place tried charging me $400 for some procedure (think it was called PRF) something about taking my blood and putting it in a socket for “a better and faster recovery process” when the dentist first told me about this procedure it was in a recommended matter. he even used the words “i recommend” and then when the dental assistant came in at the end with my treatment plan, they slapped on a MANDATORY $400 charge for that procedure. actually insane what they tried doing, even my insurance was shocked when i told them. other dentists i went to didn’t try to sell me something or force me to do something unnecessary. they actually said mine will be the easiest wisdom teeth removal and should be done in 5-10 minutes because they are perfectly grown in ( i have cavaties which is why im removing them ) luckily i got an appointment this month to get them all pulled with no extra charges at another dental office. basically if you just want to get your dental work done smoothly without breaking the bank, DONT COME HERE EDIT: just wanted to add to this review and confirm that i did in fact NOT need what they were trying to charge me $400 for. it’s been over a month since i got my wisdom teeth pulled out with another dentist that did not recommend any extra treatments. and i healed perfectly fine. no pain or infections at all. 100% this place is a money grab

Experiencia negativa: If I had to review this location prior to my last appointment I would have given them five stars, but after my last treatment I can't. Overall, everything is bright and clean, the reception staff is always accommodating and kind, and typically my visits are pain-free. I am a grown woman, and I've had the most painful experience in a long time. The office was busy, and I know that was a contributor because people were rushing and I wish I had just left and rescheduled. I had a dental filling, and a cleaning, and it was incredibly rough and painful. I was not numbed properly. It takes a second for the gel numbing to start working and it was in my mouth for very little because the dentist needed to rush to do something. I tried to tell her that I wasn't numb yet prior to the insertion of the giant needle, but I was ignored and it was inserted into my jaw anyway. I felt every bit of it and I cried out several times in pain. It was so bad. Instead of backing up the needle or waiting to numb me differently, the dentist and hygienist essentially held me down and kept pushing it deeper and changing angles inside my mouth to stab at other places, saying over and over "don't close your mouth." I couldn't even help my cries because they were targeting a nerve and it was just pure pain. I had a top and bottom so she did the same on the top and I felt that too. And then after I was left for the numbing to activate and they rushed off. I just sat there quietly reeling from pain. I didn't cry I just sat there. They did my service afterward and it was fine, but the hygienist kept stabbing me on the back of the throat with the large sharp suction straw (not the soft white one) or putting it too shallow and asking me to suction when I barely could. She kept sliding off my teeth when holding things and I'm not surprised those areas hurt the next day. I was too shellshocked to do more than take it. As soon as the numbing wore off, I had to take painkillers and lie down. I was unable to eat anything but soup because opening my mouth hurt the rest of the day. And the next day my jaw still hurts and I can't open it fully. I'm hoping it's not a serious problem, and that after a few days of healing, I'll be able to open my mouth fully, but the pain radiates through my ear so I don't want to take the chance. I used to go to this place specifically because of how gentle they were, and now, I don't think I can ever go back without being incredibly scared. If an adult is literally crying out on your table, you don't keep going with the procedure. Part of me is heartbroken because I really liked this place, but I can no longer trust that they're going to do what is best for me.

Experiencia fantástica: First time going to this dental office, as I was looking for a replacement dentist since my old one was ridiculously hard to schedule appointments at. Top things I look for when it comes to dental and doctor offices, speed, sincerity, efficiency, and the kindness to explain or answer any questions the patient has, and this office met them all! The receptionist had me sit down and let me know of my payment for the visit right away which I appreciated, then one of the dentist (or assistants never sure when they come up lol) came not even five minutes later and took me to the room. We got started on my full dental x-rays and then they visually checked my teeth after asking if there were any issues bothering me. After they explained the issues they found and the treatment plan, then they did my cleaning. The cleaning was thorough and I was happy to not have to remove my braces wire as my other dentist always had me remove it for each visit. They answered all my questions and were so nice, payment and scheduling afterwards were very fast and efficient. 10/10 never going back to my old dentist lol.

Experiencia fantástica: This is the best Dental Office in OC. They speak both English and Spanish. They are accepting new patients. And they do accept Medi-Cal. I love this place because of the care that is provided by both Dr. Rios and Dr. Martinez. The reason I needed to make an appointment was because my teeth and gums have become more sensitive over the last couple years. So, I called my insurance and asked if they would find me a Dentist that was accepting new patients. They suggested Rio Mar Dental and got me in touch with them. The receptionist at Rio Mar got me an appointment within 2 days of making the call. I was very pleased that they were able to accommodate me in such a short amount of time with little notice from myself. It was very encouraging. Once we booked the appointment, they emailed me directions to their location and then sent me all of the forms that I would usually be required to fill out 15 minutes before the appointment. The forms were online; so, I didn't have to print them out. I could just fill them out and my information would be saved. They have both English and Spanish forms. Because they emailed them to me before hand, I was able to just walk right in when it was time for my appointment. On the day of my appointment, I had trouble finding parking. However, there are a few small lots around the office that I found. I just parked in one of those. Their office is a small blue house with their name on the side. When I walked in, the place smelled clean and fresh. The front office (waiting room) was clean, comfortable, and has a play area for children. I waited for about 1-2 minutes after checking in and they were ready for me. I was impressed with how prepared they were and how brief my time in the waiting room was. I was taken to a room where a very kind technician took X-rays of my mouth and teeth. She was very gentle and sweet. X-rays can be tough but she was very kind, patient, humble, and took her time. I can not stress how gentle she was. X-rays can be painful and frustrating because you have to shove this piece of plastic in various parts of your mouth. It can be very painful. But she was so gentle, patient, and kind. Then, my Dentist, Dr. Rios, came in and asked me about how my teeth were feeling. He was very prepared, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. Also, he was very kind and listened to me. He gave really positive and reassuring advice. He was good at explaining why my sensitivity was occurring and how to prevent it. I was so impressed with how quickly he could tell that I may have been flossing too hard. So, he had me floss as he watched. Then, he showed me how to do it. He was an excellent teacher. Once, that was done, he cleaned my teeth. I've never had a dentist clean my teeth before, usually the dental hygienist does it. I was psyched that my dentist was going to clean my teeth. He was very gentle and cleaning was very quick. my teeth looked so nice when he was done. I was so happy. Additionally, I had come in to inquire about teeth whitening. He said that I wouldn't need that because my teeth were fine and it would be painful. I've seen a few dentist before Dr. Rios and they all told me I needed to buy all of these things or my teeth were going become damaged. Dr. Rios flat out told me my teeth were fine and suggested that whitening would be unnecessary. I was so impressed. I definitely feel like Dr. Rios is trustworthy and honest. He won't try to sell you something you don't need. He is an honest Dentist. I think everyone should go to Rio Mar Dental. I cannot recommend this Dental Office enough. They are THE BEST dentists in OC.

The office is gorgeous inside, and there’s a little private parking lot at the back of the building where the entrance is (no need to be worried about parking at all). I’m so pleased that I have found such kind dentists that go above and beyond to make you feel at ease about everything they’re doing, and plus they offer many options for whatever you are comfortable with. With dentists sometimes I know patients can feel shamed or intimidated but please let me reassure you, they are ABSOLUTELY lovely here.

Experiencia negativa: This review is very overdue as their service impacted my teeth years later. Overall: they are very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Rios has always been great the handful of times he worked on my teeth. Dr. Martinez, however, could have provided better service and quality of care. Just to put this out there, this was some time ago when I went in for a cleaning and Dr. Martinez completely missed my bottom left teeth. I noticed afterwards at home that I had some buildup still present in between my gums and teeth, so I had to come back on a different day for the job to be completed. My review is mainly for the retainers I received at this location. From the day I received them, I expressed I found it strange that the top of the retainer did not sit on the roof of my mouth, as my previous set of retainers (from a different location) did. She stated it was fine as long as I felt the retainers snug. A few days later my retainers were no longer snug and would fall out of place. I called to address my concern and I was told I would have to pay a consultation fee to have them tightened. No other dental clinic charges a consultation fee if the retainers become loose within days of receiving them. I then asked to receive a call back from Dr. Martinez so I could ask if this fee could be waived, as I had just received them days ago. I never got a call back from her and I went to a different office where they took care of me for a fraction of that price. Years went by and I ended up losing the retainers I received from this clinic, so I went back to my original orthodontist where I was informed that the retainers I had been using for years shifted my teeth out of their original placement, and that those retainers should have been sitting on the roof of my mouth. I'm overall disappointed in the lack of care and quality I received from this location.
