We completely understand how frustrating it can be to see an additional fee when making a payment, and we’re sorry that it was not communicated clearly beforehand. We never want a patient to feel surprised by a charge.
As an independently owned practice, we try to keep our fees as fair and transparent as possible. Rather than increasing treatment fees for every patient to account for credit-card processing costs, our system applies the processing cost only when a credit card is used. The amount is based on the processing rate associated with that specific card, and different cards can carry different rates. We do not add an additional markup to that amount, and the processing fee is retained by the merchant services provider rather than becoming revenue for our practice.
We also want patients to know that there are ways to avoid the fee entirely. Debit-card payments do not carry the credit-card processing charge, and our team is always happy to review payment options before a transaction is completed.
We are very grateful for the support of our patients and for the opportunity to remain a locally owned, doctor-led practice. Our goal is to continue providing personalized, high-quality care while being as transparent as possible about the costs associated with treatment. Experiencia fantástica: I made my 4th annual follow up with Dr. Mike to check on my tooth implant to ensure the bite was not too strong, which could compromise the integrity of the implant. Dr. Mike did a great job of adjusting the bite of the two implants next to each other, one which he placed and the other by another office. I appreciated his thoroughness to continue to care that my implants would last by doing these annual follow ups. Not too many periodontist do that. His staff was also very welcoming and made you feel at ease. Definitely recommend Dr. Mike and his team.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Mike is truly AMAZING! I have been a patient for several years now, driving nearly 45 min to Highland Ranch Perio, for multiple surgeries, procedures, and follow up appts. I always feel heard and supported by Dr Mike and his staff. Most especially when I came in for a check up on Wednesday. I was having significant issues so Dr Mike made time to address an issue I was suffering through. (My deepest apologies if Dr Mike was running late for your appt last Wed afternoon.) Dr Mike solved my problem which came with sweet relief. Dr Mike also works really hard to make treatment as affordable and accessible as possible for all. I truly cannot recommend Dr Mike and the entire Highland Ranch Perio team enough.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Font performed a first assessment after I learned of gum recession from my dentist. She was very thorough in her examination and in explaining her findings and recommendations for an at-home dental health routine. Dr. Font explained how teeth exposed at the gum line are susceptible to sensitivity and periodontal disease by using easy to understand medical terminology. I am very satisfied with the care provided. The office was nicely appointed, bright, and clean. The young woman at the front desk was courteous and helpful when booking my follow-up appointment.

Experiencia fantástica: I wouldn't know the difference between a good periodontist and a bad one, but my regular dentist recommended these folks and praised their work on my gums when I went to him afterwards for a cleaning. Dr. Font was personable and explained what and why she was going to do to fix my gums. The surgery was relatively pain free and according to my dentist, completely successful. Experiencia fantástica: I have been working with Dr. Kerri Font since January 2024, when I visited their office for the first time with a tooth emergency. Sadly, due to fear and extreme anxiety about dental procedures (based on previous bad experiences earlier in my life), I had neglected my teeth and continuously put off seeing the dentist. When I went to my first appointment and realized the situation was pretty bad, I was scared, upset and embarrassed and the road ahead of me seemed frightening and insurmountable. From the first moment, Dr. Font was gentle, understanding, calming and comforting. She understood my anxiety and spent a significant amount of unplanned time helping me understand my situation and options. Together, we embarked on a journey to address my dental issues and get me to a better place. 18 months later and things are so much better. It has not been an easy road…I had multiple oral surgeries and implants which were not a huge amount of fun. But Dr. Font continued her amazing and gentle care all along the way, and always took time to make me feel comfortable and confident. She is a wonderful periodontist and I had zero complications due to her thorough and superior care. She does everything possible to make scary and uncomfortable procedures as smooth and pain-free as possible. She was clear and honest about everything, but took the time to help me understand and encourage me forward, with a plan that was best for me. She also showed a genuine interest in me personally and has taken the time to get to know me, which is a fantastic trait in a doctor (so often in today’s world, doctors rush in and rush out, and don’t remember you from one visit to the next). She has restored my faith in dentistry and has helped me make permanent changes to improve my dental health forever. I cannot recommend her strongly enough…she is the absolutely the best! Also, though I’m only saw him a few times, Dr. Mike Norouzinia, is also great! He, too, is friendly, gentle and comforting, as well as being a talented periodontist. Additionally, he took time to assist me in rectifying a situation with another doctor involved in my dental care, which he did not have to do…but he stepped in and helped resolve it, and for that I am greatly appreciative. In summary, I would never go anywhere else…these doctors are amazing.

Experiencia negativa: I don't like posting negative reviews and have only ever posted one other negative review in my entire life but I feel like it's the only recourse I have here. Apologies for the length of the review but I think it's important context around my experience. I saw Dr. Font after bridge with my three front teeth unexpectedly broke off. I had just been laid off and was in the process of interviewing for new jobs so was pretty stressed. Gabriel was able to fit me in quickly which was very appreciated but I was disappointed to find Dr. Font didn't seem to understand the urgency of the situation nor show any empathy for why I was feeling stressed about my three front teeth falling out and that I was looking at a 10k+ expense while being unemployed, all while walking around with a very temporary fix my dentist said could fall out anytime. Dr Font suggested I get a flipper which would help incase my temporary fix fell out. The flipper was about $1000 so I was unsure if I should move forward since we didn't have a clear treatment plan yet but Dr Font told me no matter what treatment path I pursued I would need a flipper so it was something I was going to have to purchase at some point. I was asked if I had any other mouth appliances made in the past year and after answering no was told it was very unlikely insurance wouldn't cover the flipper so I paid my portion and purchased it. I consulted several other specialists for second opinions and at the strong recommendation of multiple specialists, selected a treatment plan that was significantly different than the one Dr Font suggested and did not require a flipper. Several months after my visit I unexpectedly got a $660 bill in the mail for an additional charge for the flipper that wasn't covered by insurance. I immediately called the office and was told insurance denied the claim because of my age, a clear eligibility requirement that should have been understood in crafting my estimate. The receptionist told me he would talk with the doctor to see what could be done and would get back to me. A month later after never hearing back, I again contacted office and was told they were still going to charge me the additional cost but they offered to help me file an appeal. I requested they file an appeal but never received a response of any kind, that was 3+ weeks ago so I have no idea what the status is. In summary, I'm being charged nearly $1,000 for an appliance I never even used despite the doctor telling me it would be needed for any treatment path and insurance denying the claim for a clear eligibility requirement after being told it was very unlikely it wouldn't be covered as long as I didn't already have another appliance made in the calendar year. It's incredibly unfortunate the expectation is for a patient who only occasionally interacts with the dental insurance system be the expert in policy details, especially during a moment of emergency, and not the dental provider who are experts in the information and work with insurance companies every single day. It's also unfortunate Dr. Fonts office feels good about charging a patient an additional $660 months after the consultation and isn't able to respond to patient messages. I'm glad others have had a positive experience but mine was not at all positive and I'm glad I chose a different provider as the lack of empathy, lack of communication, a treatment plan that was not recommended by multiple other specialists, and willingness to charge hundreds of dollars months later for an unused appliance is not something I want in my treatment provider.

He has gone above and beyond to help control some issues that would have become critical if they had been treated with traditional methods. Experiencia fantástica: My initial visit with Dr. Mike was extremely pleasant. He stressed the importance of clear communication and really listened to understand my fears and expectations. He was thoughtful and his office staff were calm and courteous. I know my plan of treatment will be significant but Dr. Mike emphasized that we would discuss all options and work on a reasonable plan that I will be comfortable with. I'm not as scared now as I was going into this first appointment and I am confident that I chose the right periodontal practice for me.
