Experiencia negativa: $240 for them to attempt to apply some fluoride on my child’s teeth, as my 3 yo child was scared and crying. Perhaps, they need a different method than to have the parents hold the toddler while they forcibly get the child’s mouth open, resulting in a toddlers defensive behavior of biting.

They’re quick at what they do, and know how to make little ones smile (because, what toddler enjoys the dentist?). The staff is extremely friendly and always happy to see patients. Would definitely recommend to anyone with kids looking for a dentist—they make the experience enjoyable for both parents and children.

I’m so grateful to the whole team for making our experience a positive one.

My kids love coming here, they get to watch movies while in the chair and they have prizes to pick from afterwards. My daughter is very accident prone and we have had to make a few last minute visits and they always find time to squeeze her in (including 3 fillings for 3 chipped teeth in one morning). They are great. Would highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: From the outside looking in, I thought oh this place looks nice! But those feelings drastically changed when I witnessed the way the lead dentist coached the assistants to hold my son down like a mental patient having a psychotic episode, while he cried for dear help because he was scared seeing 5 grown adults pushing him into submission. I also really didn’t like the fact that she tried to give me only two options for treatment, trying to convince me that “it was the only way, otherwise his teeth would turn black and he could DIE” DONE. DONE.DONE. I went to get a second opinion and my son blossomed with just the kind way my NEW dentist spoke to him. No holding him down, my son is 2, and hops right up on the table and opens his mouth for them. Because he’s not intimidated by 6 grown women holding him down like they do at Kona kids. ALSO, I paid a large sum of money for the procedure, before getting the second opinion, and they never responded to issue me a refund. It took almost 6 months to finally get an answer, and it was from the anesthesiologist that works with them, NOT Kona kids. I hate to sound negative but because these are our babies we are talking about, I wanted to warn other parents, and let you know that there are other dentists in the area, that I’M SURE you will have a much better experience with. My daughter is 18 months so I had very little expectations of what we could get accomplished but Allison & Dr Brandon were so kind, quick, efficient and knowledgable. We got to talk about our at home routine/diet & we got a full exam, cleaning & fluoride...on an 18 MONTH OLD. That's hard work. I worked as a hygienist for years so I understand how difficult pediatric appts can be. So I appreciate their expertise and patience that much more. He was a little nervous at first but the staff all create such a kid friendly environment (cool fish tank, fun prizes, friendly and laid back staff) that he moved from being scared to instead becoming curious and excited. During the evaluation, Dr. Brandon gave words of encouragement and moved efficiently so it was over in a blink of an eye. We highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: Dr Brandon is not a very good dentist! His practice is all about the money. He and his wife do not care about your child. I have written a review of him in the past which was asked by him to be taken down because it was not a good review. I gave him a second chance and he let my daughter get another cavity because of his sloppy work. DO NOT GO HERE YOU WILL PAY A LOT OF MONEY AND YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE TAKEN CARE OF WELL!! When I left and went to another dentist I was asked who did this work? It was sloppy and not necessary! I caution you to go here. He and his wife Cat to do not have integrity!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Brandon is 5 stars! My 9 year old daughter was experiencing pulling on her lower gums which was causing gum recession in her two lower teeth. I took her to 3 specialists; a pediatric dentist, orthodontist, and periodontist. All three had varying opinions but it became clear the first line of treatment was a frenectomy. The periodontist we saw wanted to use a scalpel and that would just be too traumatic for my 9 year old daughter. THANKFULLY I found Dr. Brandon! Dr. Brandon took the time to answer all my questions, never rushed us, and it was very clear he was knowledgeable and confident in our agreed upon line of treatment. The day of treatment went smoothly and my daughter has healed very well. I would highly recommend Dr. Brandon if your child needs a frenectomy. Thank you so much Dr. Brandon. Life changing for my daughter!

They were able to offer us an appointment that same day to both check out her little chipped tooth and get her established for care. Her appointment was fantastic - staff was friendly and engaging and Dr. Brandon was great at taking care of our little’s little teeth. I appreciated the prevention focused approach and the way everyone was willing to answer our questions. As someone who has had some rough dental experiences as a kid, which now acts as a barrier as an adult, I’m so glad to be starting my daughter off with a great team!

He often walks into a dental office whispering to me that all dentists are mean and it's a total fight to get him to go. However, he didn't want to leave Kona Kids. I can't believe what a difference they made in his outlook on dental care. They have absolutely made this a comfortable space for children. And each person we spoke with was so outgoing and friendly with such amazing bedside manner. It's no wonder they have 5 stars on Google. They've definitely earned that!

My daughter is predisposed to cavities and they have never once made us feel bad or like we were failing her. Every appointment, whether a cleaning or filling a cavity, the whole staff has been incredibly kind, patient, and makes it a fun experience for my daughter. So important with dental care!! She loves going to Dr Brandon! We had Dr Angela today who was equally awesome. It means a lot each doctor follows up the evening of her big appointments, so it’s a positive experience for us parents, as well! I can’t recommend Kona Kids enough!

Update: took my other daughter in for a tongue and lip tie consultation. Dr. Brandon and his team took great care of my newborn. Very thankful they were able to successfully fix her tongue and lip tie.

We came from another dentist who recommended surgery and unkind ways to get my son to stop thumb sucking. Dr. Brandon disagreed with the surgery and got us through the thumb sucking phase without any negativity. My kids both look forward to seeing the dentist (and love the prizes). Experiencia fantástica: I don’t even know where to begin…. Kona Kids is absolutely incredible! From the front office, to the hygienists, to Dr. Brandon, EVERYONE is so friendly, patient, and kind! We drive an hour to go to Kona Kids because the quality of care is above and beyond! My 4 year old had a rocky start to his dental journey at a different pediatric dentist office where he was traumatized and very anxious to ever go to a dentist again. After that first experience, we got a second opinion and were then referred to Kona Kids. From the first consult appointment, I knew I could trust Dr. Brandon and his staff to take care of my son. They were just so calm, understanding, and patient with him!! The procedure my son needed included IV sedation and the anesthesiologist was also excellent - answering any and all of our questions! The procedure went smoothly and my son had a very positive experience. Dr. Brandon even took the time to text me that evening to check on my son and sent him a special gift in the mail! We’ve now been several times between the first consult, the big procedure, cleanings and fluoride treatments and the progression my son has made is incredible. He went from completely scared and clinging to me, to completely excited to go to the dentist! Now he jumps up in the chair by himself and opens his mouth and sits perfectly still. And that is ALL thanks to the remarkable staff at Kona Kids! I can’t sing their praises enough! If your little one is nervous or has had a difficult time elsewhere, I’d highly recommend trying out Kona Kids. Thank you Kona Kids for everything you have done for our family!

From an easy and kind check in, to the fish tank that blew her mind, I was immediately put at ease with the expertise of this crew. The hygienist, Katie made me feel well taken care of and the dentist, Dr. Cat made my daughter feel comfortable. Thank you so much to everyone there and I would recommend any parent choose this practice for their kiddo, even the young ones!

We’ve had a couple issues that needed to be addressed and I haven’t always been comfortable with the plan that was presented to me. I prefer a more natural experience. Going to the dentist was never a scary experience until we lived abroad for 6 years and the feelings changed. Unfortunately, the dentists we visited while living abroad are not as gentle as Kona Kids. We are back living in the US and had our first visit in September. We took our daughter in to see Dr. Kat who was kind, attentive and gentle. Thankful for KonaKids and Dr. Kat. My daughter’s feelings about dentists is on the mend. Kona Kids have always been extremely helpful and easy to work with. They are a great team.
