Today I had laser scaling on my upper and lower right side and a wisdom tooth extraction. I was not sedated; I only received local anesthetic. I was nervous going in, but Dr. Moskowitz and his assistant, Gina, made me feel so comfortable that I actually fell asleep during the procedure! I never imagined that would be possible while awake and only numbed. Dr. Moskowtiz was gentle, thorough, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. His staff was kind, professional, and supportive throughout the entire visit. If you're anxious about periodontal treatment, I highly recommend Dr. M and the team at Baltimore Periodontics. They truly make the experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Experiencia negativa: Not a pleasant experience this time. Routine cleaning was painful after hygienist used new cleaning equipment on me. In addition, instead of providing me a brand new unopened toothbrush after cleaning, the hygienist handed me an opened toothbrush she used to clean my mouth guard.

She refreshed me with the proper brushing and flossing techniques (good to get a reminder) and it became a lot clearer with the disclosing solution! Wanting to ensure maximum comfort, she asked me to inform her if I experienced any extra sensitivity and also allowed me to adequate time to suction the water and fluids in my mouth. Experiencia negativa: Very financially predatory practice. We were going here for a gum grafting procedure. They were very unresponsive and hard to get a hold of. We talked to the personal eventually who discussed payment with us and it was going to cost 10-15k for the procedures, she told us she would send us an itemized receipt repeatedly but never did. They require payment at the time of making the appointments. We ended up getting a second opinion and are now getting the same described procedure done for 2k. (5x less the price) If you’re considering this location, get a second opinion before you commit. Columbia implants and periodontics gave us a much better price!

Experiencia fantástica: I was looking for a Periodontist on Google by phone. I found several. A couple didn't do the procedure I was looking for, and several did not respond. I know why now now , I was meant to come to this office. Sometimes doors are shut , so you come to the right one. When I called Julie accessed I needed an emergency appointment, she scheduled me the next day. I arrived to a nice parking lot and office in Columbia. The staff was warm and the office had a good feel as I sat on the couch. I had an emergency meeting , and no wait time, that was impressive. Bemi took me back and I did my photos and intake, and made me feel at home. Dr. Moskowitz proceeded after. He is warm , funny , and a wonderful professional and explained everything to me. I can see why he is one of the best in His field. Great experience, I will be returning. Thank you❣️

February 23, 2026 I recently had two crowns placed on my implant, and I couldn't be more grateful for the exceptional care I received. Dr. Moskowitz is truly outstanding. Experiencia fantástica: UPDATE FROM ORIGINAL POST: Ditto all my prior comments. Today, at my request, I visited Dr Blum for a status report on my sleep apnea. We talked about some of the recent sleep issues I have been having and whether the medical sleep apnea device was helping. It seems to be doing the job but I may be suffering from other sleep disorders such as insomnia. I was given a take home mobile sleep test device which will measure my sleep over two nights with and without the apnea device. As always, Dr Blum was professional , courteous but very friendly. I feel we've established a good relationship over the past few years that goes beyond a patient-doctor relationship. Prior: I visited the sleep apnea specialist again today . Another excellent visit with this knowledgeable expert. Today was a follow-up recommended as a result of my asleep test. I was provided the take home equipment and equipment for the test tonight and give an instructions and showed how to use the device. If you have sleep apnea and are looking for various ways to address this serious health issue I highly recommend this practice. Original post: I visited this dental practice for the first time today. I specifically went to see their on staff sleep apnea expert. We spent well over an hour together and he did concise measurements of my mouth, throat, teeth Etc and walked through the entire process that is needed to be approved for sleep apnea dental devices. I found the sleep apnea specialist to be very professional yet personal and friendly. He's extremely knowledgeable and I was able to ask questions throughout my consultation. The front office staff is very polite and courteous as well. I cannot speak to the periodontics side of the practice but if you have sleep apnea issues and are looking for alternative options it's well worth seeing Dr Damian Blum at this dental practice. The above review was posted a few months ago when I first went to this specialty dental practice. I followed up as I have severe sleep apnea and was prescribed a medical oral Dental device to help correct my apnea issues. I've been working with Dr Blum over the past few months starting with initial airway tests to determine what kind of device I would need. Today, I received my new appliance and spent an hour with Dr Blum making sure that the device was fitting me perfectly and getting instructions on how to use this oral device and instructions about everything related to it. Dr Blum, as usual, was very thorough and answered all the questions that I had. In addition to their Dentistry practice I recommend anyone who has sleep apnea and cannot use a CPAP or the Inspire procedure to visit Dr Blum to see if an oral device may be something that will help you rectify your sleep apnea issues. Another update (7/16/24): I came back to see Dr Blum and his staff for a refular checkup. My subsequent sleep test showed that since I've been using the dental apnea device I have had a significant reduction in apnea symptoms. The news was good all the way around. I appreciate the way that I am treated as a patient and looked after and brought up to date on each visit. Again, I highly recommend if you have any sleep apnea issues to contact this practice and go visit with Dr Blum and staff.

Whenever we return to our regular dentist for basic dental work, she is amazed at Dr. Moskowitz's high level of care, attention to detail and precision. In the past, I have had negative experiences with hygienists who are super critical about bleeding gums despite my best efforts to floss and care responsibly for my teeth and gums. Experiencia negativa: Very disappointing experience. I was referred by my general dentist for an implant, but the first thing I was pushed to do was a sleep test costing over $300. I was then told I would receive an estimate. The estimate I finally got was over $6,000 with my insurance, and I assumed that price covered the entire implant treatment. When I showed the estimate to my general dentist, they suggested it might be only for the first stage (extraction and bone graft). I called the clinic to confirm, and they said that was correct—the quote was just for extraction + bone graft, not the full implant. I asked for a comprehensive estimate for the whole treatment, which I think is a reasonable request—especially for something this expensive. I called multiple times, left voice messages and emailed, but never received a response. Because of this, I decided to go with another recommended periodontist. When I showed the new doctor that estimate, they were surprised—“Just extraction and bone graft for that much?” This second clinic has an excellent reputation and many cases, and I was able to get the entire implant treatment for under $3,000—about half of this clinic’s quote just for the initial stage. Most importantly, unlike Dr. Moskowitz’s clinic, they answer the phone promptly and respond kindly to messages. Finally, I was surprised to receive a bill for a March visit recently (It's been 6 months!). If I had actually proceeded with treatment there, I would understand the charges and would be willing to pay. But after no replies and no comprehensive estimate, I had to find another provider. Charging me for that visit feels unfair—it left me wondering what that appointment accomplished, and it ended up being a waste of time and money. Update 10/5/25: In response, even though I asked several times, why was it that I could not get a total estimate? This is why I went to see another doctor- not because of your suggestion. That was a decision I made all on my own. My decision was not because of the cost. I wouldn't have minded paying if I knew that the quality was going to be good, however, because I didn't get the whole price estimate, I went elsewhere. I am disappointed I couldn't have Dr. Moskowitz treat my tooth because I thought he was good.

My dentist initially recommended a periodontist in Baltimore that my son was seeing for the last several years but my son's condition got much worse over this last year. We met with Dr. Moskowitz yesterday and he was so wonderful, kind, caring, extremely intelligent and explained my son's very complicated case to us. He takes a very holistic approach and suggested my son get a sleep study which we are scheduling and this could explain so many other issues my son has experienced over his life. He is only 22 years old and not overweight but has been chronically tired since high school. I wish we found Dr. Moskowitz several years ago because really, he is amazing. Although my son's treatment is complex, I'm so thankful to have found Dr. Moskowitz. I highly recommend him to everyone. Best, Susan

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Blum and Rachel at Feel Well Rested are an amazing team who literally changed my life for the better. Because of their expertise, knowledge, and getting me an oral appliance to wear at night, I no longer snore, I wake up without fog brain, I feel much more alert and rested, and I don't have to sleep in another room because I'm keeping everyone up with my snoring and choking. My overall physical and mental health has improved greatly just a month after wearing the oral appliance every night. After I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, they made the entire process of getting an oral appliance easy and painless. They used innovative technology to make a 3D model of my mouth to ensure the oral appliance would fit snugly. Which it does -- it's not uncomfortable to wear at all. They answered all my questions, patiently explained how the oral appliance worked and how to take care of it, and educated me on how detrimental sleep apnea is to physical and mental health, the extent of which I did not realize. Dr Blum clearly knows his stuff, and from our conversations I can tell he does what he does because he truly loves what he does -- helping people suffering from sleep apnea. Rachel is on top of everything, from making sure I have everything I need for my oral appliance to helping me navigate and understand confusing insurance billing. I feel I'm in good hands with them. They're professional, organized, clearly knowledgeable, and clearly here to help people. I've already recommended them to family and friends.

Dr. Moskowitz was very thorough, spending a lot of time explaining what he was assessing and what the possible issues might be. I especially appreciated that he didn't push me into immediate treatment but instead suggested a stepwise, monitoring approach. He patiently answered all of my questions, and I felt very comfortable and well-informed throughout the visit. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Moskowitz!

He is friendly, gentle, with attention to details, and gives you his full attention for as long as you need it. To top it all, I had no pain whatsoever during any of my periodontal surgeries, and barely none afterwards. If you need a specialist in Periodontics, this is the place to go to.

At 36 weeks pregnant with a root canal that wasn’t fixing my problem, Baltimore Periodontics made me feel at ease and well taken care of. The process of extracting a tooth was so daunting, but after they cleared up my questions, I knew I was in good hands. Any time I texted with a concern, they replied promptly and courteously. Great staff and always friendly atmosphere. Although I no longer have that tooth, I have a business that I fully trust to put me first.

Experiencia negativa: Just to check in public whether this is the standard practice now. I called today to make a consultation appointment as a new patient. I was asked to pay for a 90-minute consultation up front for a scheduled appointment in three weeks. I understand for some out-of-network dentists, I would need to pay directly to the dentist and deal with insurance myself afterward. However I never encountered paying a dentist without even meeting with him/her for once. Did I get a spam? (I called the office and left a message. Someone returned my call in about 3 minutes.)
