They talked me through all the steps I needed to take to get my dental journey back on track and never once made me feel bad about how my teeth looked or the condition they were in. I highly recommend this place to anyone needing a dentist and office who cares about the person rather than the price tag!

Experiencia negativa: You ask me why I have not scheduled a follow-up appointment. This is why. I scheduled the initial appointment secondary to a molar on my right lower side that became abscessed. I woke up one morning with the right side of my face swollen and tender. By noon, it was even more swollen and now painful. By the time early afternoon arrived, I was beside myself in pain. I called my doctor because I had no idea what the source might be. She took one look at my face and ordered a CAT scan. It turns out that my molar was abscessed. I called a number of places to try and get in as an emergency, but no one was available except Dental Alternatives. The dentist I saw was nice and told me I needed a root canal. However, what followed made a bad situation worse. He drilled around and broke four files in my tooth to try and find the canal to remove the root. I also had five x-rays and he still could not visualize the nerve because there was "too much blood and pus" obscuring his view. Finally, after more than two and a half hours, he told me that I would need to see a specialist or he could just pull the tooth. I could not wait any longer so the tooth was pulled. He then did not write me a prescription for any pain medicine but one for Ibuprofen 800 mg which he told me to alternate with Tylenol. Even after taking the Ibuprofen with food, my stomach burned. He also prescribed an antibiotic that ended up giving me C-Diff several days later. I gave him a 5 star review because I thought I might have to go back to him and didn't want to get bad care. Two or three weeks later, I received an email from the office that he was no longer with the practice. It was then that I wondered if my case had been the last straw. I have been without a molar on the right lower side of my mouth and have had to chew on the left side of my mouth for approximately two years since then. I need an implant but can't afford the several thousand dollars it would take to make up for his mistake. He should never have attempted a procedure for which he was not qualified to do, a root canal. I didn't know he was not qualified to do a root canal at the time and was surprised when he finally gave up and told me I needed to see a specialist. I thought he was the specialist! I need help but hate making a problem. I have not been to a dentist since then. Can you blame me? I wish I was brave enough to contact Dental Alternatives and tell them they owe me a replacement for the painful disaster I experienced by one of their dentists. At least I have written this review. If I were brave enough, I would post it on Google and Yelp. Perhaps I will. Thank you for asking why I haven't been back.

I shared honest feedback, including that a dentist had made a rude & inappropriate comment about my young son right in front of him. Management reached out afterward to offer a phone call, but I chose not to respond since I had already shared my feedback & moved our care to a new provider. I wasn’t looking to take things further & was prepared to leave it at that. Despite this, I received another unsolicited email that did not address my actual concerns. Instead, it felt defensive & placed blame on me as a parent rather than taking any accountability for what occurred. I was honestly shocked that this email would come from what’s supposed to be a professional business. It felt as though they chose to ignore the unique medical complexities I had repeatedly brought to their attention, & instead making assumptions that didn't reflect our reality. It is deeply disappointing to see a practice react this way to a parent's honest experience. I would not recommend this office to anyone seeking a patient-centered approach, especially families dealing with medical complexities. In our experience, this office did not seem to understand or even consider complex medical factors when consulting on a case. Instead of looking at the whole picture, they relied on behavioral assumptions, which led to a complete lack of real support or clinical understanding. I also found it consistently difficult to reach anyone by phone & the front desk staff often felt dismissive. Between the scheduling hurdles & the environment feeling crowded & unorganized, the entire process was stressful. Most importantly, the way my son was spoken to only increased his anxiety. A dental practice that sees children should provide a sense of safety, but we felt judged & unheard. Since moving to a new provider, the difference has been immediate. I finally feel heard & supported with a clear, thoughtful plan. This new provider actually address the medical complexities my son has… Something that was unfortunately missing here. I see other reviews that share similar negative experiences to mine. So, I hope dental alternatives will use all this feedback they get to improve. But as of right now, zero stars for this place.

Experiencia negativa: First off, the communication is absolutely terrible. My insurance had listed one of the doctors as a provider, who to my knowledge was still employed there at that time, but the office kept going back and forth about my insurance. Two weeks of calls trying to book an appointment and figure out insurance, the office finally says they got it figured out and the new exam is covered, so I make the appointment and show up. At the end of my X-rays and new patient exam, they suggest I see the hygienist that day and we can do my fillings and cleaning if he says I’m good. I needed a deep cleaning so we had to schedule at the end of the month (honestly glad I didn’t get my fillings that day because of all this) and she says I’m good/nothing to pay for that day, my insurance covered it. I asked MULTIPLE times if before and after if she was sure because I didn’t want a surprise bill.. and yet here we are. Before my second appointment they call me again, saying my insurance isn’t valid starting in April (the provider will no longer be working there) so after some calls with the insurance, I decided to find another dentist and cancel my appointment. Two weeks later, I’m receiving a bill for my new patient exam that the office told me was covered. If it wasn’t I wouldn’t have schedule the appointment and thankfully I had to wait for a deep cleaning otherwise you would’ve charged me for fillings I was under the impression would be partially covered too. I feel scammed after being told by this office and my insurance that I was covered after asking and checking multiple times.

Experiencia negativa: This happened almost 2 years ago in March 2024 and I will not return. I had to have my permanent retainer fixed and I went about a week before my scheduled cleaning for this work. Then during my cleaning appointment the dental hygienist drilled away the glue/adhesion from my permanent retainer that this office themselves repaired about a week prior, and I had to have it repaired, again. This hygienist seemed annoyed with me when I mentioned that the permanent retainer was exposed and poking my tongue again after he drilled away at it with no regard. I don’t recommend this location. On top of the poor work, they will spam you with unwanted emails asking you to schedule an appointment. I reached out and asked to be removed from the email list. Never got a response from their customer support email, but I still get the automated “we miss you!” emails. I’ve asked more than once to be removed but I still get their junk emails filling up my spam. I recommend finding another dentist that will actually care about your oral health.

Experiencia negativa: I want to start off by saying dr Zaino and his assistants are extremely polite and have always been great. However, I constantly have scheduling issues with this office and the girls at the front desk are extremely rude. I was unable to confirm an appointment for things outside of my control. I called prior to the appointment to confirm my daughter and I could still be seen. I was told that it was fine and we would still be seen. I get to the office and they’re telling a different story of how they needed to check if it was okay after I was already told that it was and that my daughters appointment was canceled bc no confirmation. I was not told this over the phone that maybe, maybe not that she’d be seen. Instead of actually being empathetic and polite the girls continuously made excuses and blamed the entire situation on the fact it wasn’t confirmed even though that is the reason I called to make sure prior to showing up. I had to wait 45 mins after her appointment time to be seen. Prior to these incidents I’ve had to complain about the lack of respect for my time as I would get canceled on last minute or how the hygienist is not very polite.

Experiencia negativa: The first time I went here I knew I should have walked out. My first appointment went fine but my second appointment they scheduled me for a day they where training and the person at the counter acted like it was somehow my fault they don't know how to schedule. When I finally got my filling it fell out four months later and I went somewhere else. The waiting room is filthy and you will wait for hours every step of the way. Find an alternative.

Experiencia negativa: Took PTO time off work to attend my appointment at 9/29/2025 @3:30pm just for nobody to be there. Online says it’s open, I received confirmation emails on my appointment, and nobody informed me that my appointment would no longer be taking place. Ridiculous. Find somewhere else

Experiencia negativa: Dr Glynn got me in as a first time patient with very little notice. I was having a lot of tooth pain, he got me exrays and a root canal and came up with a plan for my other problem areas. Lorenzo and the office staff were also really great. Really put me at easy during a painful time. Update: Place went downhill after Dr Glynn left. Other dentist who performed a root canal on me in December didn't get it all. Now I have to have a 2nd root canal done on the same tooth. I've spent thousands on this work only to have to pay more because they didnt do a good job. The office also over billed me twice and received a refund which should have been issued to me and they did not inform me of any credits on my account so they were just sitting on money owed to me. Doesn't seem ethical.

Experiencia negativa: I can't speak on the dental services because I left before I was even called back, which was probably the best decision I have made in a while. My appt. was for 8am, showed up at 7:50am, still wasn't able to see anyone by 8:30am and that's when I decided to walk out. Zero customer service skills from anyone behind the front desk. I asked for help with the kiosk twice because I wasn't able to check in - I will note there was one lady who offered help but that is about the nicest thing I can say. I felt like my presence was an inconvenience to them. The main receptionist must have been having a bad morning or something because I sure hope this isn't her demeanor every day when greeting patients. Never going to return and do not recommend this place to anyone who values their time. Extremely unsettling for future new patients.

Experiencia negativa: They left me alone for 70 minutes in the middle of a root canal with a bunch of stuff in my mouth. I'm pretty sure they ate lunch. There was horrible country Christmas music playing (this was back in December), even though I had asked for it to be changed or turned off. Another time I was there (I was kind of stuck with them), I literally had to listen to "Achy Breaky Heart". That should be a crime in itself. Pros: - They were willing to work with me to try to get things done before my insurance coverage ended at the end of the year. (That didn't quite work out, but it wasn't their fault.) - The people were all friendly and helpful. Cons: - The floors were always visibly dirty. - The chairs (the ones where they do the procedures, not the ones in the waiting room) were worn to the point of visible damage. - They were going to happily overcharge me by $200, even though they knew about the discount program they had suggested to me. Always ask if you're getting all your discounts! Better yet, go somewhere else!

Experiencia fantástica: I have got to tell you how awesome this place is, an answer to my prayers! I’m actually sitting in the parking lot, I wanted to get this review out there asap! I just had 5 big fillings done with Dr Zaino and his assistant, Sylvia. I’ve had terrible dental experiences prior to coming to Dental Alternatives. When I was little, my parent’s best friend was a dentist (I’m 56 now, so that tells you how long it’s been that I’ve been scared to go to the dentist). I won’t tell you how terrible my experiences were, I’m sure you can imagine. I’ve gone on and off to random dentists since then…for sporadic cleanings, very occasional fillings/crowns and dental emergencies. From the office staff, dentists and assistants, they will put you at ease! I finally found my trusted dentist. Dr. Zaino pulled a fractured tooth a few weeks ago…he was reassuring, empathetic and skilled. With these five fillings today, he talked to me right through everything from getting numbed up all the way until my teeth were filled. Sylvia is so good at all she does, she filled and seated my whole right side perfectly. Again, she was kind and understanding how anxious I was. If you are nervous about the dentist like I was, definitely come see Dr. Zaino at Dental Alternatives!

Experiencia negativa: So when I had first called to make a appointment I had told the person on the phone I hadn’t been to the dentist in years so knowing that I wondered why they scheduled me an appointment for 5 pm when they close around that time . First time there the only thing they had time for was to take pictures and X-rays and I was still there for over an hour . The dentist at the time has his little child there and was going back and forth between caring and watching them then coming to try and do their job which wasn’t working out so well and it was already after hours so I told them I’d come back for a cleaning . Next time rolls around and my appointment is at 1:30pm I get there and am sitting in the waiting room for almost a hour listening to a staff member complain about her food that was there yet . I’m thinking she’s on break so it was no big deal then after waiting forever in the waiting room that same girl brings me back to a dirty used room . I’m talking old bloody papers and tools and she has me sit down in the chair as she’s cleaning around me and hands me a dirty dinghy pair of glasses and tells me when the dr comes in to put them on . Says no more no less and walks out . I was not putting those anywhere near my face . I’m sitting there in the chair waiting and waiting as that girl and another worker we’re chit chatting in the room behind me eating and talking about everything under the sun besides work . All the sudden the dentist and that girl walks in with a giant needle and just straight up tries to stick it in my mouth. I was like hold up what am I even here for ?! I thought I was getting a cleaning and they said no we’re filling cavities today . I didn’t know I have a cavity. At this point it’s 3 pm and I’m thinking okay we’ll maybe they numb me I’ll hurry up and get to leave . He numbed my mouth then walk out of the room again for another 20 mins and also left the giant mid evil looking needle right next to me . At this point I have to get my daughter from school , half my face is numb and I don’t see anyone coming in anytime soon to get things done . So I politely turned around from the chair and looked across the hall to the girl and boy were still sitting and converting so I asked hey excuse me sorry to interrupt but my mouth is already numb I was wondering how long till he gets back to me . This women’s face changes in spilt second and she started getting an attitude saying he has other patients you aren’t the only one who’s here right now . My blood went cold . I said idc who else he’s helping I’ve been here since 1:30 and it is now 3 pm and I have to get my daughter from school my face is numb! . I have been waiting and waiting and listening to you babble your mouth about bullshit all day but can’t do your job . At that point the dentist must of heard and came running around profusely apologizing saying he didn’t realize I was there that long . Then explained to me how the go by rooms . They numb one room then the next then the next then they go back to the top and work their way down again . I literally laughed and said how the hell do you think that’s going to work ?! Never have I ever been to any drs office where they go down the line like that . He was still very nice and I respected that but regardless to how the actual dentist was , the workers aren’t there to work, the rooms are disgusting I’ve seen multiple reviews about dirty utensils left in the room for everyone to see , I honestly don’t think they clean very good if at all ! And just very unprofessional and doesn’t seem like they have a grip on how to do things . I do not recommend going here at all until they get their stuff together and hire new workers . The male white dentist was still very nice and as professional as you could get there .

Experiencia negativa: I used to like this practice a lot, but there’s been a lot of turnover in recent years, and it has changed. I originally went here as it was a fluoride-free, mercury-free, and gluten-free practice. Definitely hard to find! Now they use fluoride and don’t advertise as gluten-free anymore. Recently, I was in for a routine cleaning that they scheduled but neglected to check my insurance to make sure it would be covered. Apparently, it was scheduled a month too soon, and now they require me to pay over $100 out of pocket. Kind of disappointed as I expect the scheduler to doublecheck my plan before scheduling (that’s what my children’s dentist and my old dentist always did.) I know it’s standard to schedule six months apart for insurance purposes, and their system should’ve flagged the appointment as too soon and given me the option to reschedule. When I called to discuss this with the office personnel, I was told that the doctor and the hygienist think that it’s medically necessary for me to come more often. The odd part about that is that for both of my cleanings in the year of 2024, I only saw a hygienist – no doctor came to do even a quick exam! They also said that I signed off on a paper that I would pay for the cleaning, which I’m sure I did. However, being a smart, able-minded individual who read reads her paperwork carefully, I still somehow missed this, which leads me to believe that many people miss this. Shouldn’t the office personnel point this out when you are checking in, or better yet call you in advance to make sure you are aware of the potential out-of-pocket charges? In today’s legal climate of the no surprises act, I am shocked that this is still legal. Feels a little like a bait and switch operation.This is not a well run practice, and I advise you to look elsewhere for quality care and communication.

Experiencia negativa: I would give zero stars if i could. The office was dirty for a dental office the staff was talking about food and everything But their job at the front desk. I get into the room the person who roomed me was unprofessional and the room was dirty there was already open things on the tray that looked used. The walls had marks all over them the chairs were discolored. The supposed manager came back and i voiced my concerns and she said i am going to ask you to leave well i wanted to see the dentist to express my concerns and i was not going to let them put anything in my mouth anyways it was unsanitary. I am a nurse and work at a small office there is no way the owning doctor would ever let the conversation go on at the front desk i heard. The staff was not dressed as a doctors office. All around horrible experience i wouldn't take my dog to this place. You can tell the dental office must pay them barely minimum wage by the way the office is ran. Its safe to say only medicaid patients go here and thats sad to have an office like this in the condition it is in. The office manage should go to some classes on how to manage a company. And learn how to speak to patients.

Experiencia positiva: Went yesterday to try the wax trial denture, and it went horribly wrong. Losing my faith in them, when it comes to dentures, at least. Everyone was very nice as usual, but after yesterday, I'm wondering if they can get it right now. They were WAY too big for my mouth (couldn't close my mouth or speak), and the teeth themselves were huge, at least for my mouth. I hope they go back to the drawing board, and get them right. Experiencia fantástica: Staff super friendly, and polite. Really clean place. Wait time was pretty good, too. Only thing I didn’t like is that I couldn’t get my cleaning done, or my work on my teeth done(wisdom teeth taken out)during my first visit and only got x-rays(I live an hour away.) and I have to come back two more times. One to get another x-ray, and then another time to do the actual cleaning and work. Wish it could’ve been done in 1-2 trips so i don’t have to keep driving an hour, but it’s ok.. But besides that it was a good experience. They helped me with my pain that stemmed from my teeth, too. Definitely recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: Really enjoyed my visit at Dental Alternatives. A good friend of mine suggested I check them out. It was well worth it. Extremely kind staff and a very thorough examination as well as a really affordable treatment plan with many payment options. I've already made my next appointment. The only thing that could be better is that I wish they were located closer to me. Update 10/30/24: I still love this office. I've had a lot of work done and they've always been extremely friendly and courteous. They do great work and the staff is very thorough and professional. I would highly recommend for people to give them a try. Great service. Great people. I can't say enough.

Experiencia positiva: Dr. Zaino is personable, trustworthy, professional, a good listener and highly competent. All that you could hope for in a Dentist. Scheduling is also easy, and their office is easy to find and comfortable. I have extreme unease with going to the dentist and he made me feel safe and heard.....I don't know that there is anything better than that. The 4 stars just reflects that wait time can be long and other red tape with the office can sometimes be a pain....like most offices.

Experiencia negativa: New patient but won’t go back. Didn’t even get a cleaning that I scheduled for because I was told they didn’t have time even though that’s what I scheduled for over the phone. The waiting room felt like waiting in hell, it was uncomfortably hot and the staff didn’t even get me checked until 10 min after I showed up. All to be told I would be responsible for paying for the X-rays and oral cancer screening if I didn’t opt out. I would have sat for over 30 min for scans only. Ridiculous and I don’t recommend.

Experiencia negativa: ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! NOT PROFESSIONAL!! DO NOT COMMUNICATE CORRECTLY !! I had an appt 9/24/24 for a simple cleaning. I was examined by an Hygienist who advised I needed a deep cleaning ; however, he was unable to do the deep cleaning and the person who was able to do the cleaning was not there! Complete waste on time . I then rescheduled for 10/08/24- & confirmed the party would be there- just to go into and the EXACT hygienist comes to do the cleaning - & says he can do the cleaning it just needed to be approved thru insurance- THEN he only cleans ONE SIDE & I have to go back- I was NEVER TOLD this was a two part procedure! Now I have to take MORE TIME OFF WORK! Needless to say! I’m filing a dispute with my insurance and NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS DENTIST ‼️

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely amazing people and service. Today I just got my wisdom teeth removed and the two people who worked on my teeth were absolutely wonderful. They helped me not feel super nervous and calm down after a bit. I was awake during it too, which also helped me not feel anxious since I was self aware. Thank you to the two that worked on my teeth today. Like I stated I appreciate you two so much for helping keep me grounded throughout the whole procedure!

Experiencia negativa: They said I had 13 cavities that needed filled, got 3 of them filled and then went to a new denstist. the next two dentists I saw did not see any cavities. Along with this they tried to get me to change a silver filling, when other dentists suggested changing the same filling, but told me it could wait probably 20 years. They also tried upselling me on getting some type of braces, which no other dentist had suggested for me. Overall, seems like an office that is just interested in your money.

Experiencia negativa: I showed up to my appointment today and the office was pitch black- I had multiple reminder texts for this appointment and I had already rescheduled this appointment once before because of a scheduling issue on there end. The staff is great but their system is not.

Experiencia positiva: Mostly this is a good dentist's office. The people are kind and take time to listen to you and answer questions. It is frustrating that they are often running behind schedule. Also, they block out so much time for each appointment that it's impossible to get an appointment WHEN you want one. (I'm talking about scheduling for a routine appointment in the future, not an emergency. I expect to take what i can get for an emergency. )
