Experiencia positiva: Updated review: My initial experience with this practice was disappointing enough that I decided to share my experience with a negative review. Afterward, the office contacted me, acknowledged that my concerns had not been handled well, and asked for the opportunity to earn back my trust. I agreed, and because they've followed through, I think it's only fair that my review reflects both the problems I encountered and the effort they made to address them. The dentist and hygienists, and most of the staff have always been excellent. They're knowledgeable, gentle, and have consistently provided great care. Since returning, everyone I've interacted with has been kind and professional, and my recent visits have been a positive experience. That said, I still think there are a few things prospective patients should know before choosing this practice. First, this office requires payment for major dental work when you schedule the appointment, not when the treatment is performed. For procedures like crowns, that can mean paying hundreds of dollars weeks in advance. While they're certainly allowed to have that policy, I think it's something patients should be made explicitly aware of before committing to treatment. You never know where you're going to be in life even a few weeks down the road. Second, the office enforces a $200 fee for cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice. Again, practices are entitled to set their own policies, but it's important that patients understand this. My original concern wasn't just about the policies themselves—it was that I had an issue that went unresolved for far too long and was handled poorly. Communication and follow-through simply weren't where they should have been. While I never did hear from the practice owner, I do truly appreciate that the office ultimately took my concerns seriously and worked to restore my confidence. Overall, I'm glad I gave Little Creek Family Dental another chance. I really do like them. I hope they continue improving communication because the quality of the dental care itself is genuinely excellent.

Experiencia negativa: Called for a second opinion appointment and scheduled for my Children. Arrived at appointment to discover it was cancelled because they don’t provide opinions for Children. Would have been professional to be informed at time of making appointment. No email, no text, to inform me. The staff informed me a was sent a voicemail that I did not receive. Staff was unhelpful at front desk. Solo parenting and driving through traffic with three small children to be sent home was very disappointing and difficult.

I have had multiple dental appointments with them and they have made each and every visit feel just like I was visiting FAMILY!!! Experiencia negativa: I hate to leave a negative review but I am very frustrated with this practice. I switched dentists due to my dentist no longer taking my insurance. I spoke with the front desk, sent my dental records, and my dental insurance information. I was assured that my insurance was taken numerous times, I waited a few months for a new patient appointment (totally understandable), and was called the DAY before my appointment to notify me that they did not take my insurance. I expressed my frustration and was told I could pay out of pocket. I asked to speak with the practice manager after I cancelled my appointment. I was told I would receive a call back, but weeks later, I have not!

I wasn't looking to find a Dentist right away but then I chipped what I thought was my tooth. I called the office, they were really nice on the phone and got me in the next day to see Dr. Mack. From the moment I arrived, everyone was really nice, check in was super easy and quick, and Dr. Mack re-assured me that it was a filling that just had to be fixed. I made an appointment to come another day to fix the filling and it was the same experience. Everyone was really nice, I felt comfortable, and during the procedure, Dr. Mack kept me informed what she was working on next. My tooth is now fixed with no issues, and I found a great local Dentist. Already have my next appointment for a cleaning booked. Thank you for the great service!

A Power Nap later, I was walking out the door with an exquisite, one of a kind temporary crown!! Hand sculpted by the Amazing Dr McNeil and her staff!!! I’ve been going to another dentist since I was little boy(I’m old now), I have a new dentist and dentistry now, Little Creek Family Dental!! 5 stars is not enough for this survey!! My son chipped his two front teeth and was upset. Dr McNeil was able to see us the very next day. She was so reassuring to my son. Explained the process and calmed him through it all. My eldery father needed a tooth extraction and had a bleeding issue the next day, thanks to Eliquis! Dr. McNeil called me after he left that Friday and explained what she did to stop the bleeding and even called Saturday to check on him! Who does that anymore? I can not say enough wonderful things about this practice!

Experiencia negativa: Have been going here for about 2 years now that the turn over rate with the dental hygienists isn't good. Every time I go in there is someone new, and the front staff as well. Even though the last dental hygienist I saw was amazing, I can not say that about the front staff. They're unconcerned about your issues or questions, and seem bothered when trying to discuss anything besides booking a next appointment. " Joy " rushes you out the door and, when I was last there asking her questions she seemed annoyed. I found that to be truly offensive when I was only trying to ask questions about the next appointment availability. And after doing my own research on finding a new Dr, I needed a new referral so I called and spoke with Tony. And after speaking my insurance I called, as I was explaining to her what I needed she cut me off put me on hold for 5 mins, and then proceeded to pick up the phone told me she was " the only one in the front and, couldn't take care of my referral and told me that I needed to call the new Dr and get their email (3 times)" I told her " ok that I would do that " then she asked me " what dentist I needed it for " and said " I hope this is the right one " without double checking or anything and then hung up she was very rude and unprofessional. Will not be returning, nor do I recommend this place to anyone.

She and her amazing staff went over and above when I fractured a tooth before my annual trip to Italy. If not for the exemplary care I received I would have had to postpone or cancel my trip. And of course, I would be remiss to not give kudos to my hygienist, Jenna. She keeps me on track with cleanings and check-ups so I can keep my natural teeth for life. Ms. Gloria the dental hygienist took my Xrays, went over them with me, and then offered to go ahead and get my cleaning out of the way instead of rescheduling!!! Dr. Mack came as well, inspected my teeth, and even eased my nerves with a personal story when i explained i was afraid to eventually get my wisdom teeth out. Not to mention- both receptionists were very respectful and I was met with smiles as soon as i entered the building. I am so grateful to have found this place and I will come here for as long as i live in VA!

We live almost 30 minutes away (with traffic) in the Virginia Beach area, but I refuse to find a practice closer to our home because Little Creek Family Dental is the best.

As a new patient, I didn't expect to be seen so quickly for my initial screening and cleaning, but I was called to come in as soon as there was an opening. Not only that, I was also able to come back immediately to have other work performed before the year ended. The staff was wonderfully professional, the environment was very calming, and Dr. Mack was fantastic--I never felt any discomfort during the procedure. I called around today because my cap fell off, and I’m having a baby Monday so I needed to try to have it on as quick as possible. I called little creek family dental, and the front staff was so incredibly kind trying to find me the soonest availability. To my surprise, they were able to get me in the same day, verify my insurance while on the phone and what I would pay out of pocket, and that I was ready for X-rays as well (insurance to cover it). The staff was so friendly, the doctor was very sweet and fast, such a clean, friendly, and welcoming office!! I plan to stay here as a patient. I’m so lucky they were able to get me in so quickly especially never being here before. Everyone worked together so nicely to accommodate me. I HIGHLY recommend! I was in and out in less than thirty minutes!
