Experiencia negativa: My dad recently went to this dental office for treatment, and unfortunately, his experience was very disappointing. After his extractions, he was left in significant pain and later found out there was still a root tip remaining. That should have been addressed during the initial procedure. No patient should leave a dental office still dealing with avoidable pain and complications. On top of that, he was not happy with his dentures. They were uncomfortable, and he did not feel confident wearing them. When someone is already going through something as difficult as extractions and getting dentures, comfort and proper fit should be a priority. In addition, when my father expressed concerns about the pain and discomfort caused by his dentures, Dr. Winter responded by calling both my father and his wife “idiots” and proceeded to contact the police. The officers then asked them to leave the premises because it is private property. However, they were paying patients seeking assistance, so this response is both alarming and unacceptable. It is difficult to believe this situation would have been handled in the same manner with a different type of patient. I strongly advise anyone searching for a dentist—especially for elderly parents or loved ones—to reconsider choosing this office. Our parents deserve compassion, dignity, and respect. They are the foundation of our families and our communities, and they should always be treated as such.

Experiencia negativa: In November 2025, my grandfather was treated at this office by Dr. Winters and Dr. Pham, and the experience was extremely disappointing. I work in the dental field, so I understand what appropriate clinical care and professional standards should look like. Unfortunately, what we encountered raised serious concerns. Dr. Pham did not fully extract all of the teeth, and what appeared to be retained root tips were left behind following the procedure. This caused continued discomfort and required further attention. From a professional standpoint, this should have been properly addressed before completing treatment. Additionally, my grandfather was given dentures that he clearly stated he was not comfortable with. He expressed his concerns, yet they were still delivered without adequately resolving the fit and comfort issues. Patient comfort and proper fit are critical, especially for elderly patients. Beyond the clinical concerns, Dr. Winters’ demeanor was dismissive and arrogant. There was a noticeable lack of patience and compassion shown toward my grandfather. Clear communication and respectful treatment are essential in healthcare, and that standard was not met. Overall, the care and professionalism displayed during this visit did not meet acceptable expectations. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this office and strongly encourage others to carefully evaluate their options before seeking treatment here.

My previous dentist saw cavities and issues with my wisdom teeth and said "lets keep an eye on that". Dr. Winter said "I'm going to get rid of your cavities and refer you to a oral surgeon to get wisdom teeth our ASAP!" What a difference. He and his team are amazing and I look forward to visiting them. You should give them a visit too.

I needed a decent amount of work done and I was terrified but I couldn’t be more impressed with this entire staff! Everyone from the ladies at the front desk, the dental assistants, and of course Dr. Winters are absolutely amazing. Truly fantastic, funny, and lovely people. I’m a scaredy cat when it comes to needles and dental work but Dr. Winters has a gentle hand and does great work. I would’ve never thought that a couple root canals could go so well. Thank you everyone for helping me get my teeth healthy again!

Experiencia negativa: I was looking for a new dentist. I made an appointment fir what I thought would be an exam and cleaning. It wasn't; It was just xraysand an exam. They tried to get me to make an appointment for a deep clean and then replace all my filings with crowns because they said that my teeth were cracked. All this without a regular cleaning or proof of my teeth being cracked. The deep cleaning diet $699 and your insurgency will only pay for 20%. When did dentist get to be such crooks.

Experiencia fantástica: If you are searching for a Hollywood type cosmetic dental group,this is the one you want.I researched for months.I had cosmetic work done about 30 years ago that needed to be redone and I also needed a new partial.I've had 6 partials.None ever fit right and I had to take them out to eat.After a few months with this group, I have the most beautiful crowned smile and a partial that's unlike any I've ever had.No pinches, no pain and no gum fatigue.They didn't stop working on them until they were perfect and they never once made me feel like I was too picky. I can eat normal again.I researched going out of state and out of the country because I wanted a cosmetic expert.Then, low and behold, I found Dr Winter right here in Des Moines.I don't know if it was good research, good luck or divine intervention that led me to Iowa Dental Arts but, I sure am grateful.The whole group is fabulous, and I feel like we're all friends and they are all looking out for my best interest.

Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend this dental office for so many reasons. I’ve just started going there and I feel like they’ve welcomed me there with open arms. I can’t honestly say that I have ever felt that way about a dental office. This is the third dental office that I’ve been to in the Des Moines area since being an adult. I feel very fortunate that I found this place and that they accept me and my insurance, of course. They explain everything and aren’t afraid to answer questions. So, I just had a procedure that I was pretty anxious about and I haven’t had much work done to my teeth in the past, as they are pretty healthy. But, Dr.Winters and his team found 7 little pit cavities hiding out in my back molar teeth. I was really kinda worried and overwhelmed about the whole thing. Dr.Winters did an excellent job finding them and taking care of them. He didn’t need to numb me. He didn’t use a drill, instead a laser. It was very minimally invasive and not much pain at all. And, he had it done within an hour. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for the situation. Thank you Dr.Winters and Iowa Dental Arts!

I never enjoyed the process. The doctors there, the nurses there, the staff there all create a wonderful atmosphere! I’ve gotten lots of things fixed, and I’m so glad I’ve came here. One client gave it a one star review because she didn’t want to pay her bill and she wanted to make a scene. A friend in Denver referred me to Dr Winter and I’ll be forever grateful for his recommendation!! The dental assistant, was Wonderful and very thorough. When Dr Winter came in to see me ( I had broken a front tooth over the weekend) , he was very sympathetic and kind about my predicament. I told him how afraid I was and he promised me I’d be fine. I was!!! He talked thoroughly about what he was going to do and tried his very best to set my mind at ease. He came through on EVERYTHING he told me. Repaired my tooth beautifully, and I’ve NEVER had a better dental experience in my lifetime. I’m 67 years old and am extremely grateful to him… his entire staff and for my friend’s recommendation. Experiencia negativa: The older gentleman maybe in his 70’s removed a tooth that was causing a lisp. Thing is he did it as a favor without charging my insurance. Sounds great huh well unfortunately he left a bone behind. Fast forward almost a year after and he notices the bone. He says wow looks like a bone is there from whomever pulled it. I replied “you did” he said oh no I did not nor do I have any record of this. Fast forward another year and I have pain from this bone. Well since he has no record of doing it he will not perform after someone else work? Crazy huh when I work with a dentist I DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT MY DENTIST. Now his office refuses to see me. Another thing their office said I had a few cavities to fill. Funny thing is my new Dentist took X-rays and doesn’t see any cavities. So the take away from this is, this place is a scam they will advise of issues that aren’t there. Stay clear of them. If I could post “0” stars I would.

I wont recommend Dr. Winter to nobody! I repeat NOBODY!! go else where! When I was there they made everything sound so good until I get everything done and I regret that discussion so so much. I just wish I could go back in time and find a different doctor. I went there 4 time to get my teeth done. The light was off and the doctor guy was so rude! When he did my fillers I told him how much it bothered me and he was so causally about it now I’m have major problems. Gosh I hate them so much! Some staffs members were alright but some I don’t even think have a licensed even if they do they absolutely didn't have proper training. All they care about is your hard earned money!‍ Don't let these people mislead you guys they sound all friendly but they are not qualified at all! And when the job is done its too late to regret which makes me abhor them even more. Dr. Winter belittle people which that fake smile. So I absolutely agree this place should be shut down before they ruined someone else’s life because thats what they did with mine! They should just stick on doing cosmetic
