The chip on my tooth was fixed quickly, and I was so happy with the results that I scheduled a cleaning as well. The cleaning was by far the gentlest I’ve ever had. Dr. Hemati was incredibly thorough and did an excellent job, yet I could barely feel a thing. There was no pain during the cleaning and no soreness afterward, something I’ve never experienced at other dental offices. Experiencia negativa: Emergency Dental Visit Led to Pressure, Pain, and Unexpected Costs: My daughter went to American Family Dental Care in January 2025 for an emergency dental situation involving an exposed nerve and severe pain. She asked whether a root canal was needed and was told it wasn’t, despite the pain she was experiencing. When she questioned that recommendation, the interaction became uncomfortable, and she was pressured to move forward with treatment the same day. She was required to sign a waiver and proceed while in significant pain. The crown did not resolve the issue. She later sought a second opinion and was told a root canal was absolutely necessary. She ended up needing specialist care, 3D imaging, and a root canal—all out of pocket. What was most troubling was the disconnect between how urgent the situation was presented and how it was later billed. Patients should be very cautious and ask detailed questions about authorization and alternatives, especially when in pain.

Experiencia negativa: I had one of the worst dental experiences of my life at American Family Dental Care. I went in for a routine cleaning, but instead of receiving basic care, they tried to upsell me on nearly $2,000 worth of unnecessary procedures. Even worse, I’m currently pregnant, and they made no effort to take basic safety precautions during an X-ray—despite large warning signs about pregnancy risks. They only offered protection after I visibly panicked and gagged in fear. I cannot overstate how unsafe and careless that felt. The staff were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, making inappropriate comments and showing zero empathy. It was clear they were more interested in sales than patient health or ethics. Do not go here. This place operates like a scam, not a healthcare provider. I left shaken, angry, and deeply disappointed that a dental office could show such a lack of moral standards and compassion. Additionally, I must note with regard to their response that I was only provided with the protective gown after gagging and apologizing to dr I was pregnant. It was halfway through the xray and the doctor seemed nervous; asking if I was pregnant after ignoring it on my file I guess, and ran to get more protective covering. There was bold lettering on my file that I was pregnant and my child and I were exposed to unnecessary radiation. And I will not be signing a waiver. Accept the feedback and do better for future patients. I will not be returning. Clearly I’m not the first review to acknowledge the greed of this practice. Disgusting.

Like so many others - severe dental anxiety coupled with covid caused me to put off going to the dentist for too long. A broken tooth on my birthday forced me to bite the bullet and pick up the phone. From the moment I talked to Jhoy, I knew that I would be taken care of. The shame of not going is a real thing, and she made me feel at ease. The hygienists and techs were so kind to me and I never once felt embarrassed or received a lecture. They helped me conquer my fears and return to a state of normalcy, where fear will not keep me from getting the regular checkups that I should. Dr. Hemati is incredibly kind and gentle, and most importantly excellent. I ended up needing an extraction and implant. She and Dr. Anas worked together to recommend a treatment plan as well as light sedation to help ease me through the fear. I can proudly say I'm back on track and no longer fear the dentist. I am eternally grateful for the kindness they showed me at a time when I needed it.

Experiencia fantástica: 12/4/24 update. I had an infected tooth that had to be extracted. My previous dentist had missed it even after multiple visits and complaints of pain. After seeing Dr Hemati, she diagnosed it just from my descritpion then confirmed it by doing an x-ray and a CT scan. She just pulled it today and did a bone graft with great care and patience, taking 3 hours for the process to make sure everything went well and was painless for me. I will be back in a few months for an implant and then a new tooth. My wife and I have seen Dr Hemati. She explained everything, was very caring, and did a great job. The office staff are all nice and professional as well. Would definitely go back.

Experiencia negativa: I went into my scheduled appointment , and was told i was not on the schedule. I was anyway accommodated as I was ready to leave. I Had to wait 30 minutes for the hygienist. When the hygienist came in he did a routine clean up in 10 minutes. I am NEVER GOING BACK !!! It was the worst experience. I just read the reply to my review. I wanted to inform, I did have a scheduled appointment confirmed via text. The office has not updated the schedule at their end, resulting in my name not showing up for the day to be seen. In this situation if it were me in your staff place , i would accommodate or reschedule. If I as a staff decided to accommodate i would provide excellent service and not provide sub standard service and then charge my insurance the full fee.Now I am even more disappointed that your recommendation is for me to schedule an appointment in advance ( Which i had already done)and not addressing the bigger issue which is the poor quality of service that your staff has provided.
