Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to this dental practice for nearly 2 years and I have no complaints whatsoever. From the moment I'm greeted by Esther, who is very sweet, at the front desk till I'm seen by Dr Amy who has a kind and gentle manner while she's working on my teeth until I'm ready to make a future appointment and head home, it feels very seamless and efficient. I would recommend this practice to anyone who doesn't want to feel like just another number to be called in to be seen. I feel very well taken care of when I come here.

Experiencia negativa: I had a very disappointing experience with this office. I went in for wisdom teeth removal and left with a chipped molar that was not an issue before surgery. When I brought it up, the receptionist and doctor were dismissive and suggested it did not happen during the procedure multiple times. I returned less than a week later and they shaved the tooth down without clearly acknowledging what happened during the surgery and continued to say that it might have already been chipped. At my post-op appointment, there was more confusion. The receptionist said I was scheduled, then the doctor said it had been canceled. And after waiting for 45 minutes I was finally seen. Overall, the communication, accountability, and customer service were poor. I felt unheard and uncomfortable and will not be returning.

Now I have to take her to a different dentist which will cost our family again. Don’t go here. You’ll only get worse. Update on this her upper teeth are now splitting apart

Experiencia fantástica: I wish I could rate Dr. H and his entire staff 10000000 stars on Google because they are actual life savers. I was in terrible agony with a bad wisdom tooth situation and was desperate to find someone who could help. My mom’s been talking about Dr. H and his family for years so we called and they were able to get me in this morning by chance. I have horrendous medically related anxiety, so the amount of pain I was in on top of that I imagine did not make me an easy patient. Dr. H was clear and compassionate, talked me through all of my options because I need to know every possible outcome, and was so patient with me while I worked up the guts to tell him to go for it. I put in my AirPods and hit play, he was done before I reached the next song. I sat there in disbelief as he told me I was done. I felt nothing. 6 hours later I have basically no swelling, no pain or discomfort, and so much relief. I am so grateful for Dr. H and his family for being there for me and helping me with this. They have another lifelong patient on their books for sure.

Experiencia negativa: Stay away! Dr Herkovits (his office) told me that my insurance doesn't cover "certain x-rays" (after taking them) and charged me directly. A simple call to my insurance company determined that my insurance covers ALL X-RAYS. Then they told me I needed a "deep cleaning" and it wasn't covered under my insurance either. I refused the deep cleaning and as it turns out, my insurance DOES cover deep cleanings. They also tried to charge my insurance company for "nutritional counseling" that I never received. I don't know if the office intentionally tried to scam me or if they're just incompetent, but either way, I would recommend avoiding them. There's no shortage of decent, ethical dentists in Brooklyn!

She is extremely gentle, agile, and skilled. When I had to change my insurance for a period of time I went to another local dentist and had a nightmarish experience. I am so glad to be back with Dr. Amy!! I’d also like to review my experiences with Esther, the front desk manager. Esther has gone above and beyond to get to know me and to make sure we can take the fullest advantage of my insurance so my out of pocket costs are minimized. She also always does her best to accommodate me my tricky schedule.

He was also very flexible when coming up with a payment plan for me and my mediocre insurance. I had four rotten front teeth. I was devastated. Dr. Herskowitz and his staff made me feel at ease at every visit, from multiple extractions, and temp teeth fittings, until I eventually got a new partial. And it looks great. The receptionist Esther is very personable and even made plans for tea with my girlfriend! I'd highly recommend Dr. Herskowitz for your smile concerns.

Experiencia negativa: Very rude and dismissive dentist. Seems to only be nice to older people like him. He was rude through text before meeting him in person and he was even ruder in person. He basically kicked me out of his office saying he couldn't help me. He claims to help people who have deep fear of dentists but that's a lie. He doesn't care and makes you feel shame for being scared and nervous. Very fake personality don't be fooled.

Experiencia negativa: This was my husband's experience. "As much as I was looking forward to this experience, I wish I would have turn around the moment I walked in. My gut feeling was telling me to leave. The office did not look clean. However, I stayed. I don't even know where to start. On my first visit, the whole procedure was explained to me. I agreed to going forward believing and trusting. Next, x-rays were taken. Therefore, he knew that I had bone lost in the back. He went with the procedure regardless, assuring me that everything will be just fine. I believed him and went forward. The hygienist was not communicatively patient nor kind. She delayed on giving me a napkins when I asked and was kind of rude knowing that I was in massive pain and discomfort. I've been through surgeries in the past. However, this one was brutal. To make this whole story short, after receiving my implants, I was noticing that it was lose in the back. Now, when I eat my implants move back and fourth. I told him. His answer was that it is because, "you have bone lost in the back." Really?? He knew that from the beginning when he saw the x rays. However, he still proceeded. It should have been explained to me that because I have bone lost this is what's going to occur or because you have bone lost in the back, we can have this other thing done to avoid movement. However, I was just assured that everything would be fine. Now, he tells me to go see another Dr. in NYU so I won't have to pay so much money. You would think that he would just make it better for his patient and just fix the problem. This problem could have been avoided. Paid so much money for what? I am very dissatisfied, very unhappy. With all being said, I have to also say that Esther, at the front desk was very sweet and kind." **They claimed to say that they tried calling to make things better. Yes, they did. They tried calling numerous time after they saw the review . I tried making appointments in which I was told that the dentist wasn't there when in fact he was. Then, was given an appointment on the day that I was told the dentist was not in. I was anxious to get it done right. That is why I kept calling to go in. The problem, as mentioned, was when I was told to go to another facility where I won't have to pay too much money. Not to mentioned the times that I was told he wasn't in, made me feel he was avoiding me. Bottom line, he knew from the beginning that I had bone lost. He could have taking care of the problem from the beginning.

They don’t check to see if anything’s covered by your insurance before they take images and then withhold your records when you want to go somewhere else. Told me I had to get 3 caps with no root canal needed… never heard of that. Then hit me with an almost $400 bill for images they didn’t ask me if I could afford before taking the receptionist is another nightmare. This office is money hungry and only see patients as cash cows. STAY AWAY

Also if needed there's a visiting oral surgeon at the office. I have been going here for years and can say that I don't know of any better dental practice in Southern Brooklyn. I also like the fact that if I need to speak with my dentist if she isn't immediately available I will receive a call back within a reasonable time frame. By either her or her father.

Experiencia fantástica: I am a military member who used this office as my first civilian hosted dental appointment in some time, and I was extremely satisfied. I received great care in both the check up/imaging and the cleaning itself. FOLLOW UP - 4th appointment after 2 years and I am still extremely pleased - there is no substitute for an office with experience with TRICARE and the referral system. Military members should understand that record systems are vastly different within DOD at this time compared to the all-digital records, but this office was exceptionally adept at explaining all of this, easing my transition to civilian dental care, and has been helpful in finding further referrals as well as transition BACK to my sea tour. Thank you so much to all of their hard work - cannot recommend them enough.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. H is a master of his craft! After having bad experiences with multiple dentists from Manhattan to Phoenix, he is the ONLY dentist I trust with my teeth. I trust him 100% and I have for the past 8 years. Dr. Amy is following in his footsteps and creating a special place of her own in the practice. Dr. Soman is a wise, experienced periodontist in their office. And Esther, who runs the whole show, rounds out the team with competence and a human touch. Well worth the commute from anywhere in NYC. Their prices are good. But, I tell you, Brooklyn Smile is priceless!
