They answered all of my questions a showed/explained my X-rays to me. They have definitely gained a new client in me. 6/24/22: I’m telling you, they get you in and out. Everyone is so nice and helpful to you and each other. I love the hot towels to wipe your face after everything is done. Minimal to no pain after fillings. The driver was given the wrong address. I got out of the car and the driver left. Made a phone call to Smiles by JB and told them what happened could someone come and get me? An employee showed up to pick me up and instantly our connection was strong like family and stayed that way until my appointment ended. I felt the love and care that was given to me. I was impressed from the first point of contract through my departure post evaluation. They were courteous, warm, friendly, and very professional. The office atmosphere is bright, clean, inviting and well-run. The dentist was amazing! I don’t give compliments undeserved, so he had to be great to wow me. He was patient, attentive, and informative. He answered all of my questions and gave me great feedback and recommendations. I will be transferring my entire family to this practice!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Barton and her staff (from assistants to front office) are one of, if not THE, best dental group I've worked with. They are flexible and very considerate of my (sometimes very peculiar) quirks, such as avoiding mint, not using ultrasound, etc. And unlike most previous experiences, they keep notes of all these things so I don't have to repeat them every time I go. They've taken the "dread" out of dental visits, which for me is a miraculous accomplishment.

The assistant explained the process and allowed me to ask questions. The dentist who is the owner was delightful, pleasant and professional. She also explained the process, my options and allowed time for me to ask questions. So far so good I'm excited about my next appointment...nice energy.

Experiencia negativa: My experience at this dental office was disappointing. My daughter had a 1:30 PM appointment for a consultation to determine whether she needed a root canal. After driving an hour to get there and arriving on time, we waited for over an hour while other patients who arrived after us were seen promptly. It was unclear why there was such a delay, especially for a simple consultation. Additionally, the temporary filling placed on my daughter’s tooth fell off within an hour. When we called to inform the office, we discovered they had already closed for the day. This gave the impression that the procedure was rushed in an effort to finish quickly. As someone who is biracial, I strongly support Black-owned businesses. However, I don’t believe in patronizing a business solely for that reason. While the staff was very friendly, the overall experience was frustrating and unprofessional. Perhaps it was an off day, but the level of inefficiency and lack of care left a negative impression.

Experiencia fantástica: I went for an extraction of a tooth that had a root canal failure. Essentially, the root cracked so it needed to be extracted since having a “repaired” root canal done elsewhere a year ago was unsuccessful. From start to finish, this dental office is caring, empathetic, and professional. I had the affected tooth removed by Dr. Barton and her staff within the specified timeframe, and the best part is that during the procedure and after the procedure, I experienced little to no discomfort or pain. I was apprehensive that the day or so after the procedure I would experience some pain and possibly a bit of swelling, but to my surprise I felt fine the day after and it’s been a week now since the procedure and the gum continues to heal well; no pain, no bleeding, no swelling, and no discomfort. I am very pleased with this Dentist and would recommend Smiles by JB to my family and friends.

We were in and out quickly and the tooth cracked before we made it home. At Smiles by JB, Dr Barton took her time to be sure the smile my little girl took home is perfect. Dr Barton is a perfectionist and the quality of her work is hands down the best I have seen. To see Alicia smile without hiding her face and feeling ashamed brings tears of joy. Thank you soooo much for your patience, attention to detail and most importantly, caring about what you do!!

Experiencia fantástica: I really enjoy Dr. JB and the staff at Smiles by JB, They are very professional, patient, and knowledgeable. When I have questions they have a well though out answer to my question(s). Today I bought in my new portable water floss pic, first time owning one, I used regular floss strings, and LaShanda (Dental Hygienist) took the time to teach me how to properly use it. To not spray water all over myself and tge bathroom. Thank you, Lashanda you are awesome. She was patient and took the time to explain the attachments that came with it as well and I really appreciate it. I would highly recommend Smiles by JB to one and all. Experiencia fantástica: Moved to Durham four and a half years ago from Massachusetts and was very happy to luck into Smiles by JB! These dental professionals are all super-skilled in dental care and no one in my family has been hit by the dentist “fear factor.” We’re comfortable with everyone there, whether in the chair or just chatting. The front office administrative team is also excellent and very knowledgeable in terms of insurance, which is extremely important. And they offer plans for uninsured patients as well. They are really flexible and accommodating when it comes to patients’ schedules. I highly recommend Smiles by JB!

Experiencia fantástica: My initial impression as a new patient at Smiles by JB is very positive. I have a difficult time trusting dentists because I have been over treated in the past. At my previous dentist office they suggested I get 6 crowns, which was suspicious to me. I did not mentioned this history to anyone at Smiles by JB, but the treatment plan they presented at the end of my initial exam was much more reasonable and well explained. They recommended replacing fillings which are breaking down and only one crown. They explained in clear detail why they thought each procedure was necessary and what the procedures entail. Everyone was very friendly and explained things clearly. The office is also beautiful; I actually mistook the building as a hotel at first and was a little confused trying to find the office.
