The staff were all very welcoming, engaging and kind, AND patient! As a parent, there are things I know I need to do better when it comes to weaning from pacifier, etc. the dentist was very understanding, provided some tips and never judged. That was huge for me. The front area is so fun and inviting for the kids and they had all types of different toys for all sorts of ages. It’s clean, has super engaging materials for children, and it’s very welcoming. All of the women were incredibly sweet and helpful. It was both of my girls first times for a cleaning and they made the experience so much fun and very magical for them. I would’ve loved to have gone to a dentist like this as a child. I feel like they truly took their time to answer my questions and concerns, and I could not be more happy with my experience (: they even took little Polaroids of both of my girls holding the cutest little sign, saying that it was their first appointment! Overall, super professional, and very personal! 10/10 recommend!

Experiencia negativa: This is the place to go if you love waiting. First visit was a 40 min. wait time; appointments mean nothing here. Second visit was only 15 min. wait time and another 10 mins. for the dentist. Only positive about this place is that the staff are nice. There's nothing this place does special that you can't find at any other dentist office for both adults and kids. Parking is horrible unless you drive a tiny compact car and get there at the time someone else is leaving. There is street parking in the residential street, so prepare for a walk. (Also, instead of them apologizing for the inconvenience of waiting with an appointment, they say it's normal so they have enough time with everyone)

Experiencia negativa: Dr. Amber has some great people on staff, very friendly. But we’re always waiting during our appointments. We had an 8:30 AM appointment and it’s now almost 8:50 and we’re still waiting. Very frustrating as a working parent of an ASD kiddo. ETA: I want to add context to my earlier review. After I posted my review, the dentist entered the treatment room and confronted me. She stated, very loudly and repeatedly, that she is having a family crisis and asked if I realized that they are “people too.” I expressed sympathy for her situation and explained that our frustration stems from a pattern of being kept waiting 20–30 minutes at multiple visits, which is challenging when balancing work and school schedules, particularly with a neurodivergent child. However, Dr. Amber was clearly dysregulated and stuck on a loop. She did not want to have a conversation. She did not want to explain the situation in a way that would salvage the dentist-parent-of-patient relationship. She wanted a punching bag for one-star reviews. I absolutely empathize with personal emergencies and family crises. However, being confronted in a raised voice repeatedly in a treatment room in front of my child felt inappropriate and unprofessional. If a provider is experiencing a personal emergency, I would much prefer appointments be rescheduled or covered by another clinician rather than having that distress spill into patient interactions.

The whole staff are amazing, my kids get super excited when they “get to” go to the dentist now. Dr. Amber and the hygienists are just incredible with the kids. Couldn’t recommend more

The staff was great with my kids, and the doctor was informative, patient, and took the time to explain things clearly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the experience took a sharp turn during checkout due to an interaction with Yesenia at the front desk. She explained that the quote I was given over the phone may not have been accurate, which I understood and was open to discussing. However, when I asked clarifying questions, she repeatedly interrupted me and became defensive. She then accused me of being disrespectful, which was both untrue and inappropriate. I was calmly expressing my experience and concerns, yet I was consistently talked over, invalidated, and treated poorly. What made this even more upsetting was that this occurred in front of my children, making the situation uncomfortable and unacceptable. Additionally, when we arrived, there was already another upset patient at the front desk. In hindsight, this raises concerns about whether this type of interaction is part of a larger culture being perpetuated rather than an isolated incident. Because of how uncomfortable we were made to feel, we will not be returning to this office. This is unfortunate, as the clinical side of the visit was positive, but one unprofessional interaction can overshadow an entire experience. An apology would be highly recommended, along with additional training in communication, customer service, and how to appropriately validate patients who have concerns. I hope management takes this feedback seriously so future families do not have a similar experience. *UPDATE I wanted to provide an update to my original review following thoughtful and professional follow-up from Dr. Amber. After my initial experience, Dr. Amber personally reached out, reviewed what happened, and took full accountability. She acknowledged that a mistake was made regarding the cost estimate for my son’s visit, specifically that the cost of required X-rays had not been factored into the quote I was given. She agreed the situation was not handled well and confirmed that there was no reason the correct estimate could not have been provided upfront. Most importantly, Dr. Amber honored the original quoted cost, which I truly appreciate, and took concrete steps to address the issue internally. She shared that the staff member involved has been written up and placed on a performance improvement plan, with clear expectations around customer service moving forward. That level of transparency, accountability, and leadership speaks volumes. I want to be clear that my concern was never about the medical care. The doctor and clinical staff were kind, informative, and wonderful with my child. This was a front-desk service issue, and I appreciate that Dr. Amber took it seriously and did not dismiss my experience. I’m updating this review to reflect how professionally the situation was handled after the fact. One person’s actions should not reflect an entire practice, and I respect the way this was addressed. Thank you again to Dr. Amber for taking the time to follow up and make this right.

Experiencia negativa: ** not able to respond to the reply from the dentist so I am updating my review. I called from my work phone- I have the records. Your caller id will only take you so far, maybe listen to your customers before treating them like liars. I called a day before to cancel. If you cared at all about this experience you would have reached out, and you have not. Again- fake nice. The front desk is fake nice. I brought my kids here for a few years and dealt with the fake nice until today. I called to cancel to avoid their $75 no show fee, they didn’t record the cancellation. I came in for the next appointment and they try and charge me $75 from 7 months prior. They had me sign everything first, then told me about their fee and told me the documents I just signed on The iPad all reference the late fee. I knew about the late fee, but that she thought to have me resign everything first then tell me about the appointment charge I had already cancelled was very sneaky. Buyer beware.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating to also anxious kids. My daughter needed a couple fillings, which was taken care of cautiously helping my daughter through her fear of dentists. She could wear a head set and watch a movie screened on the ceiling during the procedure. They also provide laughing gas for children to feel relaxed. My daughter was way less fearful the second time she had to go back for a treatment! I highly recommend the Santa Rosa Pediatric Dentistry not only for families with children, who may have a hard time with doctor appointments.

The whole office looks recently remodeled, bright, airy, super clean, and they even have movies and toys in the waiting room, which my kids love. The receptionists are amazing. Seriously, every time I’ve talked to them, whether in person or over the phone, they’ve been so helpful and genuinely kind. They’re also really efficient with submitting authorizations and dealing with our dental insurance, which takes such a weight off my shoulders. Appointments are always honored on time, no delays at all. One day I even arrived about 10 minutes early, and they called us in right away! For my two-year-old’s first visit, they took the cutest little Polaroid picture with bubbles and a chalkboard that said “1st Visit” with the date. Such a thoughtful touch, and it made the moment feel special. One thing I really appreciate is that Dr. Amber and the dental hygienist always ask if we have any questions before they begin any treatment. They talk to your child the whole way through too, explaining everything in a gentle, kid-friendly way. It’s incredibly reassuring as a parent and helps kids feel safe and included. They’re also very thorough when it comes to prevention. My older son recently had two cavity treatments, and Dr. Amber and her team were great at explaining each step and what to expect. We felt confident and well-informed throughout the whole process. And the TV on the ceiling with Disney+ definitely helps keep little ones calm and still during treatment! And of course, the kids’ favorite part: they get to pick a little prize at the end! It’s such a fun way to wrap up the visit. Overall, it’s just a wonderful, caring office. I’m so grateful we found them!

Experiencia negativa: We have been going to this dentist since my 5 year old was a year old. I now have the 5 year old and a freshly 3 year old. We have always had to wait a while which is not the most convenient with young children. The past couple of times we have had to wait over 20 minutes to be seen by the doctor after getting teeth cleaned. Today we waited 25 minutes after my children had their teeth cleaned to see the doctor which was ridiculous with a 5 and 3 year old. I have never had to wait this long as an adult for a dental exam so for a toddler this is insane. This has been the past 4 times we have been. I didn't want to have my 3 year old get xrays because she is not quite mature enough to sit for long enough and has a fear. The dentist told me when I told her this that 'Do not come back until you can get xrays done.' Found this to be very rude and slightly threatening. I am not opposed to xrays just didn't think it was the right time for my youngest. We haven't been happy with the practice and will be switching. Have spoke to several other parents who have had very similar experiences as of late so I would be aware!

My kids love coming in to the dentist. The staff are always so friendly and make you feel welcomed. I would highly recommend this dentistry.

Experiencia fantástica: Staff was kind and upbeat making children feel comfortable and at ease. Children were not scared in the back either because staff explained everything they were doing. Decorated nicely and had children movies playing for those wanting a distraction. At the end of their visit the children were able to pick a prize. I highly recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: We recently began visiting Santa Rosa Pediatric Dentistry from the beginning we were welcomed with a sign welcoming my daughter to their office , my daughter was ecstatic by seeing her name . She had a tooth removed due to a different dental office causing her an infection and causing decay in her tooth. During the procedure she watched her favorite movie and was calm and happy she didn’t feel any pain or discomfort. It’s easily said she loves coming to their office . I’d recommend them to anyone that has children.

Experiencia negativa: I'm truly confused by all of the positive reviews for this dentist. My son has an appointment in exactly one hour, and I just got a text informing me that his appointment will require X-rays to "rule out decay" we were there 6 months ago and they made him get X-rays, even though we had just done them at his last appointment 6 months before that. They wouldn't see him if we didn't do it. I'd already rearranged our schedules to be there, so we just went ahead. My son is 12, he's never had a cavity, or any issues with his teeth. I've never known a dentist to require x-rays every six months, unless there was a reason. The cleaning portion of that appointment took about 5 minutes, as did the exam. I just called to ask if we could skip these X-rays, if everything looks good to the dentist, since we just did them 6 months ago and they said they wouldn't see him unless we didn't get the X-rays Edit to respond to the dentist: We were just there six months ago and you required him to get the pano X-ray in order to be seen. Today you wanted him to get bite-wing X-rays. In your email you said that his last bite-wings were October of 2023. I don’t have the records, you do, so I’ll assume you’re right and I was mistaken. You also said in your email that the guideline is every 2-3 years. October of 2023 was still less than two years ago and you still required him to get X-rays, albeit a different kind, six months ago. That is THREE sets of x-rays in less than two years.

The office is clean, cheerful, and designed to entertain children and them make feel comfortable. My kids actually look forward to their dental visits, which says a lot. The dentist takes the time to explain everything in a way that both parents and kids can understand, and they’re always gentle and encouraging, especially during procedures that could be scary for little ones. I really appreciate how they go above and beyond to create a positive and fear-free. We’ve had nothing but good experiences here, and I highly recommend them to any parent looking for a trustworthy, compassionate pediatric dental office.

Experiencia fantástica: This is absolutely the best pediatric dental office in Sonoma County you can take your kids to! All the tecs are great and Doctor Amber has a really special way with kids. So much so, my son actually named on of our chickens (that turned out to be a rooster) after her! We won't go anywhere else. Also, my kids will tell you they have the best prize box <3

Experiencia fantástica: names on the chalkboard! Very little wait time and there's toys and books to keep the kids busy. The RDA that took my son's X-rays was very patient and she made him feel very comfortable. Dr. Amber was very welcoming and definitely knows how to make the little ones feel comfortable. I was throughly impressed with the visit from start to finish. Thank you for a great first visit. See you all in November!
