This dental company needs to be shut down They loose your denture then say the lab they send it to lost it . It's been over 5 months since they took my bottom denture to refine it and I still dont have a denture and they say it's the labs fault not theirs. I feel since it was left in their hands that's it's their responsibility to replace my denture or pay me for it. I still dont have a bottom denture. This place is not very reliable. Experiencia negativa: I have to say that this place is such a scam. My husband had his first dental appointment with this facility and they managed to make this experience horrible. First, the staff/tech (Spanish lady with long hair) that took him back who did his X-ray, was extremely unprofessional. Short worded, and didn’t have any mannerisms. Come to find out, she was also talking badly about my husband with another Spanish lady, wearing blue scrubs, thinking that he didn’t understand Spanish, and that enrages me. Not only did he understand, but where is the professionalism in this facility! Next, there’s no transparency of the total cost. It seems clear that $700 is the cost they’re trying to charge everyone who goes in just for a regular cleaning. They wanted to downplay the situation and make it seem that my husband knew what he was signing and that’s not the case. The staff in general are horrible, unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. They all need proper education on how to treat their patient and how to speak with transparency and accountability.

He has had patients where they didn't even feel hardly any pain and that gave me some comfort. I did have a little pain and discomfort with the shots but the extractions were not that bad. It was an extremely eroded cavity that was dangerously close to the nerve, and it was his job to save the tooth with a filling. Well, when it was all done it looked like a brand new tooth, basically like when my teeth were new when I was a child! What a save! Through the whole process I never felt any nerve pain at all, and I am very thankful and grateful for rescuing my tooth. He even said that the job was one of the greatest rescues of his career! The staff at Coast Dental eased my anxiety. Gave me straight forward details of what my neglect had caused then made a plan to get my gums healthy again. They were amazing. By the time I left that day I'd scheduled another appt & have since gotten 90% of the work done! Experiencia negativa: When getting X-rays gagged so hard that I had to excuse myself to bathroom. It wasn’t clean and barely had any soap. If I had seen that bathroom before getting the X-rays, I would’ve left and not have continued with the appt. It was extremely unorganized visit- unlike any dental experience I’ve had. The lady that checked me in completed my X-rays, then a tech checked my gums and the receptionist would come in/out of room as she bounced between the front desk and my examining room. The dentist spent maybe 5 minutes with me and only talked about a filling that needed replacement and said everything else looked fine. Then the receptionist came in with a $1500 quote telling me I had periodontal disease. It felt uneasy and I definitely didn’t trust it- I’m going for a second opinion and will never use Coastal Dental again.

The hygienist was amazing. I had my son with me and he couldn't go back because I had to have x rays done. The girls at the front let him sit with them and they checked on him the whole time for me. Experiencia negativa: Don't go here if you are a single parent with kids. They will make you wait 20 minutes over your appointment time just to tell you you can't be seen because your kids can't go back with you. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

Experiencia negativa: Went to get a cleaning and checkup, the dentist was virtual and missed a big cavity in my back tooth. Now they want me to come back when the dentist is there, and they balance bill so beware. However, the hygienist and receptionist were exceptional.

Experiencia negativa: I have gone through the very worst dental experience with Coast Dental in Deltona, FL since October 2024. I was overcharged, I had to submit my claim to the insurance myself and when I discovered that I was overcharged they refused to tell me how much they overcharged me and refused to refund my money because I want my refund on a different card. I submitted a complaint through the Better Business Bureau and they still refused to refund my money, or even tell me how much I am owed after being repeatedly asked. I submitted a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in January 2025 and Coast Dental wouldn’t even respond to the complaint. I would give serious consideration to not getting any costly procedure with Coast Dental in Deltona, FL. Don’t even bother me with your canned, non-response answer about how sorry you are when you refuse to refund my money!

Experiencia fantástica: Funny how it took them being very short-staffed for me to have a 5 star experience. That looks weird looking at it after typing it, but it’s true. There was one hygienist and an office manager, both in good moods, attentive to me as a person, and professional. The hygienist was more gentle than the ones I’ve had in the past. I’m autistic, so was is a big deal for me. Thank you for making this not so uncomfortable.

Experiencia negativa: The dentist refuses to accept my insurance, despite the fact that my insurance covers the work I need done. So I set up a payment plan with them. My insurance company told me that they cover the work and not to pay them, out of pocket. So I cancelled the work. But they keep charging my bank account. They’re now avoiding me and refusing to return my phone calls or cooperate with my attempts to cancel payment on work I never received. Or refund me any of the money I’ve paid so far. This place is nothing but a scam.

I was told I was in-network, and they recommended a treatment, which I initially declined. However, they assured me they could assist since I was supposedly covered. They took some molds, charged me $756 out-of-pocket, and I had to put it on my credit card because I didn’t want to take on more debt by applying for their credit card. I scheduled my follow-up appointment, took time off work, and lost income, only to be told the hygienist was unavailable that day. I rescheduled and took off work again, but on the day of the appointment, they called to say I was actually out-of-network! When I questioned why I was charged $756, they claimed it was only for the mold—yet no further treatment or filling was done. In the end, I paid nearly $800 just for molds and had my time wasted, all while still needing the filling I originally went in for. Coastal Dental didn’t care about the impact on my schedule or finances, and it felt like they just saw me as a source of money. Would not recommend.

I perceive Dr Cava as a no-nonsense dentist who not only is well trained in his profession but actually seems to enjoy his work. One of his assistants assured me of this. I am sure I am his 'problem child', lol, But he always has my best interest at heart. My latest best impression concerning him Is the fact that in preparation for a tooth extraction on my next visit, he reminded me to come off of my blood thinner for a few days before that event. I think I would have forgotten yet he did not. That actually is a big thing for us on blood thinners. Experiencia negativa: Due to the military, I have moved often and have had several bad experiences with pushy dental practices, exaggerating health conditions for financial gain. Exactly what I worry about when I try a new dentist is exactly what happened this morning. They started with trying to sell me a $69 advanced oral cancer screening and then after I had the X-rays and gum assessment, told me I had to do a deep cleaning ($754 out of pocket, insurance would only pay $21) due to some gingivitis and that I couldn't opt for just a normal cleaning. Then I'd have to return in 4-6 weeks to see if I could then get a normal cleaning (I suspect I still would have "needed" the deep cleaning) Additionally, even though I was a new patient, my biggest concern was a small chip in my front tooth that they were not concerned about at all. I had been going to my previous dentist in MA prior to my move for almost 5 years and never once had them try to upsell me anything or recommend a deep cleaning. When I said no to the deep cleaning and they wanted me to speak to a dentist. First they tried to connect me to a virtual dentist and then I would see the onsite dentist. The virtual didn't work and the onsite dentist was busy so I told them I just wanted to leave. I did give my feedback to the front office staff who asked. It is nothing personal with anyone, but there are so many dental practices out there selling patients things they don't really need using fear tactics all in the name of "health." Of course, this is just my personal experience and feedback, but I do wish I had read a review like this prior to booking my appointment and wasting 3 hours of my time (including driving) to not even get my chipped tooth fixed or a regular cleaning.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been very happy with my care here. Julissa, Dr. Cava, and the whole staff are fantastic. Everyone there has been very supportive, helpful, and thorough. I have not had any of the issues mentioned in previous reviews regarding pricing. In fact Julissa has been very accommodating when it comes to my treatment and what my insurance will cover. I have not been denied care even though I did deny the very expensive antibiotic treatment. Thanks for everything!

Experiencia negativa: My experience at this location has been lacking on all sides. First the place needs to be cleaned up. All of the stains, dirty walls and equipment made me feel sick. They are in my network and were the only ones that could do the crown close by. then they charged me out of network pricing. Each visit with an appointment, I sat more time waiting then getting work done. first visit I sat for an hour and a half waiting.

They also haven’t had a doctor in two years. Today I went to Coast Dental in Orange city and I was blown away. Tonya at the front was very sweet and welcoming. Amari the dental assistant was so kind and comforting. The doctor was knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. I will definitely be coming back and recommend to others.

She offered me some great advice and encouragement about a concern that I had about my teeth.The Dentist was nice and professional too but in my opinion, either him or somebody around him smelled like cigarette smoke. He also seemed like he was in a rush and a little impatient with me when I couldn’t quite pinpoint which tooth a certain periodic sensitivity pain was coming from. All I could give him was an approximate area of where the pain was felt whenever I ate or drank hot/cold. We eventually narrowed it down to a best guess though and I was referred to a specialist. The front desk gentleman was very cordial and friendly during my checkout. Overall it was a great experience and I’ll most likely return for future appointments.

Experiencia negativa: Giving even 1 star isn't deserved. I had the WORST dental visit I ever experienced in my life. I was pregnant during this visit so I had my x-rays sent over that were from 5 months previous. Im educated enough to know that with the time lapse there could potentially be more issues and being pregnant can cause weakness in teeth. However, from 5 months prior to not have 1 single cavity, I was told I had several cavities and that my oral health was so bad I needed a deep cleaning that insurance didn't cover any of it. The price for this cleaning was extreme. They tried to push the cleaning and the plan had so much on it and I asked if it was safe being pregnant. I was told if I didn't do it I couldn't be seen. So I left crying and felt so disrespected on how I was spoken to. After giving birth 3 months later I went and got a second opinion elsewhere. I was told I had 0 cavities and my oral heath was great. Because that opinion was so vastly different than the one I got at coast. I then got a third opinion and got the same no cavities and great oral health. I just think if I didn't trust my gut and leave that day I would have had tooth structure drilled away compromising my natural tooth for absolutely no reason. Its not just me, SEVERAL of my friends and family have had this exact experience. Truly disappointing. Please go anywhere else.

Experiencia negativa: You can train your appointment setters to LISTEN to the patient. I told her I needed a tooth pulled that was a root canal. They sent me to a dentist that didn't even look at my mouth. He couldn’t help with the pain as he wasn’t an oral surgeon and he couldn’t do anything anyway because it was Friday and he doesn’t do extractions on Fridays. Said I needed an oral surgeon and charged me $209! When I cried they didn't even offer me a tissue. When I left, at 4 (they close at 5) the lights were out and they locked the door behind me. Then the dentist left. Terrible from the very beginning. I will NEVER go back. Also, it was dirty. Dust and dirt all over the ceiling and the toilet paper in the bathroom was just sitting on the sink. The sink was disgusting too. The dental assistant did not wash her hands in between patients - she changed gloves but she did not wash her hands.

Wife has a bad cavity that needs fixed sooner than later so called in for an appointment. Confirmed everything was good and dealing with the 2 week wait period... and they just called and cancelled stating they no longer take our insurance. Going back to our old dentist even though it will be 100% out of pocket.

Experiencia negativa: Never in my life have I ever heard that it’s company policy that you couldn’t be in the room with your child while getting an exam and cleaning especially when they’re on the spectrum. Please be aware parents, this location is bogus!!! Every person that left had an issue with this office. I’m glad I left as soon as they told me they told me I couldn’t be back there with my child.

Experiencia negativa: I made an appointment through their call center and when I got there, they had made me an appointment for an emergency visit and I had never even had an initial visit. The only reason I picked this dentist was because they were in my network, so they made another appointment the next day and both days I had to takeoff work and drive to Orange city from Port Orange for the appointment. So the second visit they took x-rays and they told me I needed deep cleaning and a cap and the dentist I had been going to never said anything about deep cleaning, but they were not in my network so that’s why I was trying to switch. The hygienist told me there would be no charges because everything was through my insurance unless I have the deep cleaning and the cap in which case the insurance will pay a certain percent and I would pay the balance , but I couldn’t afford to do that right then so I told them I’d have to wait. I told them when I went in. I did not want any thing done that was not covered under my insurance. So the x-rays was the only thing they did , they did not clean my teeth not even a regular cleaning, then they brought in a dentist to check my teeth which he just said the same thing that the hygienist said, and then they did a televisit with another dentist, that I did not ask for them I got a statement from my insurance company saying that I might have to pay those charges because it wasn’t covered under my insurance and I did not ask for any of it, so I was not happy with the entire experience.

Experiencia positiva: Today my hygienist Julissa take care of me. She was very nice and pleasant. EXCELLENT job, I really enjoyed my visit.

Experiencia negativa: While the staff is friendly enough, I am questioning their billing practices. I paid 100% for a root canal/crown. I am on Medicare Advantage and am supposed to receive 100% reimbursement. I pay Coast Dental and MA pays me directly. I specifically asked the Orange City office NOT to bill my insurer. They ignored my request and billed them anyway which depleted my dental funds for the rest of the calendar year. I have reached out to the Coast Dental Corporate office requesting a refund based on their duplicitous double billing practices. I have also reached out to my Medicare Advantage team. I have been a faithful customer of Coast Dental for more than 30 years. I am extremely upset over this situation and will be terminating our relationship.

Experiencia fantástica: I originally had issues with getting my insurance info to this office but once we handled that. The the staff at this office was very informative and happy to help. My hygienist was wonderful and the Dr. there was helpful in identifying my issues and proposing treatment plans. Highly recommend.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give this place zero stars, I would. When I first went in for a cleaning they stated I needed a deep cleaning and the charge would be $3590. They also told me I needed additional work at a later date and that would be another $3014. I explained to the hygienist that I did not have that amount of money on me at the time, so she immediately handed me a tablet and tried to get me to apply for a couple different credits cards, both with interest rates over 18%. I felt like they were trying to pressure me into getting the work done ASAP. I stood firm and told her that I would reschedule when I was ready to get the work done. Why did they call AND text me at 8:00 am the very next morning to tell me they could fit me in that day, when I was clear I would let them know when I was ready. So, I decided to go to another dentist to see what was really going on. The total for the deep cleaning at the new dentist, $379.20. That is a difference of $3210.80..Coast dental wanted $2400 alone for just the antibiotic treatment that my insurance didn't cover. They said I needed the antibiotic on 40 different sites in my mouth, but the new dentist said I only needed 3 different sites. Each treatment is $60. This practice is only after your money so please beware. There is no telling how much money they are swindling from unsuspecting people for unnecessary procedures. If you know anyone going there, especially someone elderly, please look out for them. Question everything with this practice. They are scammers!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I'm only reviewing my appointments with the hygienist at the Coast location in Orange City, Florida. The hygienist, Ms. Cruz, us exceptional. She's careful to explain everything that needs to be done and how much it'll cost before charges acrue. She's very gentle and distractingly beautiful. That may not seem relevant but it's a welcome distraction when having my teeth worked on.
