Experiencia negativa: I'm sad to write this review as I previously had great care here in Deland. The office is old and dated but the staff was great. Unfortunately, the people are the same but the care is not. Without adequate explanation, this office has put my dental care in jeopardy and rendered my preventative insurance useless. This was accomplished with a virtual appointment while I was in office for a cleaning. Note there is no dentist at this office.

Experiencia fantástica: We have been going here for many, many years. They are cost effective, and the technicians are very professional and nice. I especially like Catherine from today's visit. She was careful to cause no pain and did a good job. There is no dentist at this site so if you end up needing fillings, crowns, etc. they will refer you to their Orange City office. Having said that, after you get x-rays and photos, they send them to a dentist during your visit and you get to tele-visit with a dentist after your results have been reviewed. I found this just as effective as having a dentist in person. The facility is a bit dated, but I don't think the care suffers for it. We will continue to use them. December 2025 Just completed another visit. They do have an on-site dentist now. We are still very satisfied with Coast Dentaland continue to recommend them.

After X-rays and a pretty extensive probe by the dentist a detailed plan was created for my future dental care - along with clear explanations of certain procedures. Experiencia negativa: I first went here 2/27/25 after X-rays was told I need a cleaning before they would pull my very painful tooth they said I have periodontal and need cleaning every three months they never will use your insurance they come up with reasons why they can't PLEASE don't go there the receptionist is really rude and just read the reviews they all are complaining about her she is awful I wish I had read them before I went they finally pulled my tooth but I only have 12 teeth left and they quoted me a bill of over $2000 to fix them RUN from them PLEASE I hope this helps you

Experiencia positiva: Doctor Hickman was lovely and helpful, the xray tech was lovely and efficient, and my hygienist was thorough and very helpful and nice. The receptionist however was rude and incredibly disrespectful when I said I was in a hurry to checkout and I politely said I would call to make my next appointments. She briskly flicked my receipts at me and was sassy and irritable and I was completely taken aback. She ruined an otherwise smooth office experience.

Got set up with an excellent treatment plan for other problems. Dr. Bailey is world class. I'm sad that im so bad with names so I can't mention anyone else out specifically, but everyone that worked with me was exceptionally kind and professional.

Experiencia negativa: I wear for my biannual cleaning and was told I had periodontal disease which meant I could only have a deep cleaning which was not yet covered by insurance and would be several hundred dollars out of pocket. I was also told that three of my teeth needed to be pulled. All of this was with a dentist over a zoom call. I brought my records to a different office and was told I do not have periodontal disease, could get me general cleaning, and did not have to have three teeth unnecessarily removed. I’ve never been so disappointed in a dental experience. I recommend local, independent offices over these chains which seem to be out for a money grab. I do not want to receive a feedback survey or any other communication from this office.

Experiencia positiva: The office was top notch from the reception to the cleaning. I would highly recommend them for any dental needs. Edit: Second visit, I had a crown that was cracked and needed to be replaced. The dentist didn’t have the right tools in the office to remove the old crown and had to find substitute tools to use. They had so much water spraying that it was dripping down my neck on both sides. The temporary crown fell off in two days. I’m hoping for a better outcome in the future. Fingers crossed.

Experiencia fantástica: Got a call Wednesday that they had a opening available that day, my appointment was for next week. Went right in an was in the chair in less than 10 minuets, service was quick, painless and very clean and sanitary standards, it's how a dental experience should be. Thumbs up to Coast.

Experiencia negativa: Do not use Coast Dental. The company is designed to provide minimal care while maximizing their profit. As one of the few places in DeLand that accepts our dental insurance, I made a cleaning appointment with Coast. Prior to your cleaning appt., you must first have an office visit for a "consultation". The office has dental equipment that looks like it was liberated from a 1970s Soviet Republic. They take multiple digital photos of your teeth (while still charging you for film), do a "mouth cancer exam" that is not covered by insurance (3 minutes looking at your mouth with a pen light flashlight; they are already looking in your mouth - wouldn't they notice warning signs? This will cost you $70), before your consultation with a "dentist". Dentist is in quotes because you meet online with a virtual dentist via a screen! However, he must be very good because from hundreds of miles away he was able to diagnose that I needed a $700 treatment every 3 months. Then you get scheduled for an actual cleaning. Coast charges you $25 if you cancel this appointment, however they unilaterally canceled my appointment without even an apology. I'm going elsewhere for dental care and suggest that you do, as well.

Experiencia negativa: When I called to reschedule an appointment, the woman in the Deland office spoke to me like I was lower than a dog. I won’t be back. Also, this office has little availability for appointments and schedules months out. I was easily able to find another dental office that had time to see me for cleanings and had office staff that treated me with professionalism.

Experiencia fantástica: I went to Coast Dental because a piece of one of my molars broke off. I was nervous that it would cost a lot of money to fix cause a crown was necessary and that it was going to be painful. Well Dr. Bailey and her assistant Courtney worked so good together that it was basically painless and they worked together so coordinated. I highly recommend Coast Dental for your dental needs. Well done ladies. They also got it through my health insurance where most of the procedure was very affordable.

Experiencia negativa: My recent experience at Coast Dental in DeLand was disappointing and fell short of expectations. As someone who has maintained good oral health throughout my life, I was looking forward to establishing a relationship with a new dentist after moving to the area. I specifically scheduled an appointment for a routine cleaning, which I typically undergo three times a year. Unfortunately, upon arrival, I was informed that there wasn't time for the cleaning I had requested. Instead, the staff attempted to recommend additional procedures that I felt were unnecessary given my dental history. What was most concerning was their refusal to schedule a future cleaning appointment unless I agreed to these additional services. This approach seemed to prioritize upselling over addressing my primary reason for visiting. While I understand that dental practices are businesses, I believe patient care and requested services should take precedence. The experience left me feeling that my needs as a patient were not the primary focus. I would caution potential patients to be clear about their expectations and confirm that their requested services will be provided before scheduling an appointment. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Coast Dental in DeLand and will be seeking alternative options for my dental care in the area.

She's been there for as long as I've been a patient (or longer) and she jumps in where needed. She has always worked with me and my difficult schedule. The dental hygienist is very gentle, attentive and thorough. I was very impressed by her and happy with my cleaning. All of my questions were answered.

Experiencia negativa: A bit of advice for this facility: When hiring someone to answer phones, the ability to communicate should be a prerequisite for the job, along with the willingness to at least make a feeble attempt at sounding amicable. We called to inquire about an appointment, the woman who answered the phone clearly had difficulty navigating the English language, to the point that it was nearly impossible to understand anything she was saying. When we politely asked her to repeat herself she apparently became flustered and did not respond. We asked her again to please repeat herself. At this point she sounded quite annoyed and said something along the lines of why are you calling . At least I think that's what she said. We have no idea whether or not this facility is good or terrible and apparently we'll never know.

What I didn't appreciate was the assumption that I would pay ($77) for cancer screening that my insurance would not pay for, because there was nothing to warrant the screening. I have no sores, and my gums are very healthy. It felt like there was an attempt to get more money when there was no reason for it.

Experiencia negativa: 2/20/24 after my visit today I had come back to update my review from 5 star to 1 star. Went in for a scheduled cleaning. Was met with I needed new x-rays since it had been over a year. A few hundred dollars more than I was expecting with a cleaning. I told them I was not expecting this I am budgeted for a cleaning. They tried every way to get me to go through like we do the x-rays than reschedule the cleaning. We can take this off being the smallest part of the bill. We have payment plan. What made me walk out was the lady said it is the law we have to take x-rays. Nope along with the dismissive tone the lady in the back part of the front had. Not coming back. Dont know what happened to this place but Reading the other reviews I can see I am not the only one Orginal ***** I had a dental emergency they got me in very quick less than 24 hours and were able to take care of a broken tooth; needing a crown and replace a filing; that had come out in the process. The dentist was very professional and personal. The office staff all were very nice, polite and very professional. All the staff had smiles. They all had me relaxing during the experience which is hard at any dentist visit. The cost was also very reasonable. I have to go back for a permanent crown when it comes in but plan to make this my permanent dentist office

I have GLADLY rescheduled my appointment with another location. Your appointment schedulers are first contacts for customers and she needs to be reminded of that. The appointment scheduling is ridiculous; they can reschedule your appointment whenever, but as soon as you need to reschedule, they don’t want to do service with you anymore! Things happen in life, and for a medical office to be so NOT understanding about that is bananas! I would not recommend this location to anyone!! If this was the last dental office in the area I would let my teeth fall out! Just because of the unpleasant experience that I have encountered, AND DIDNT EVEN GET ANY WORK DONE!!

I made an appointment for 10:10, had the text confirmation and arrive at 9:45 to be told they changed my appointment to 11:50. So I was supposed to sit there and wait for two hours. And I showed them the text confirmation and they said oh well. Two different ladies working and neither of them could explain why my text was for appointment at 10:10. And there was not one single person waiting in the waiting room. Waiting room completely empty! Stay away from this location

The second time I asked if they did anything on weekend and she replied no. Before I could even tell her okay I will have to find a different place because my work has been unpredictable lately, She said we will not be scheduling with you again so take care and hung up. It was super rude and unprofessional. I’m a single mom with 3 kids and I will take the money where I can get it. The rude tone and hanging up on me was a little uncalled for.

Experiencia negativa: I was at the lobby for near 20 minutes meanwhile the receptionist was in a personal phone call. I waited because my molar was killing me and my dentist closed at noon today. This woman showed me a note asking if she could call me back. She just couldn’t put her personal phone call at a side to tell me that there was no dentist today and I could go somewhere else. They were only doing cleanings. The worse customer service ever. Lack of professionalism for a dental office.

There is a office manger name Sabrina who is very condescending and walks around as if she is there to pass out orders and nothing more, I witnessed her talking to a staff member as if she was nothing more than the help I could only imagine how she treats her dental assistants behind close doors. After seeing that I decided this was not the office for me. I hope that dental assistant found another place to work because from what I witnessed she was being miss treated for sure.

After he took all my information he informed me no appointments for month of April. Spent 45 min on the phone to get nothing of use. This is not the way to conduct business. At very least have someone who understands and speaks English
