New Beginnings Dental

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about New Beginnings Dental. I originally found them after my longtime dentist retired and I suddenly needed care for a painful broken filling. They were able to get me in quickly, and from my very first visit, the entire experience has been fantastic. One of the reasons I chose New Beginnings was because they do so much in-house rather than automatically referring patients elsewhere. Every experience has been exceptional. There is almost no wait time, the staff and dental assistants are magnificent, and Dr. B is fantastic. He’s personable, down-to-earth, and makes you feel completely comfortable. New Beginnings is absolutely my new dentist. I’m already telling my family to go there, and I would recommend them to anyone. Great people, great care, convenient location, and an all-around exceptional experience.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience. The new changes are great and the staff were wonderful. I had a new young lady clean my teeth and she was so nice and careful when cleaning my teeth. I will always recommend New Beginnings for your dental care.

Negative experience: I’m giving them two stars because honestly my first visit with them I absolutely loved them! The lady at the front was super nice and the dentist that helped me was even better! BUT I missed one appt and rescheduled due to not being able to get off work then I missed the one I rescheduled for due to car issues. Both of these incidents were out of my control and now they absolutely REFUSE to see me again, will not respond to my emails, nothing. I’ve reached out letting theme know I am in severe pain and I would even pay upfront or whatever they wanted but to please see me because I was desperate for some help. They still refuse to even acknowledge my emails or see me.

Negative experience: UPDATE: As of July 7th we still have not received a refund. On June 10th I attempted to call New Beginnings four times over the course of the morning and was sent to voicemail each time. Suspecting I was being screened my husband called from his work phone and they answered. (Not surprised). After giving his name he was placed on hold 12 minutes. He finally spoke to Shauna who told him they would be sending a check. She was apologetic but did not explain why this has been such an inexcusable issue. She told us we'd have a check within three weeks. We are past three weeks and have not received a check or any followup communication from New Beginnings. (Also not surprised). Will continue to update. UPDATE: As of 5/28/26 I still have not gotten a call back from Shawna or anyone else at the practice. I also have not gotten a refund on the money they owe us. I have left another message. My attempts to call are sent to voicemail so I suspect they may be screening my calls. While their response below sounds helpful, they are not actively engaging in the resolution of this issue. I have also requested contact information of the owners and was told they don't have it to give away. I will update this again if we get a call back or resolution. Be very care of billing and finances here. Original review: While Dr. B and the clinical staff are wonderful and provide high-quality care, the administrative and billing operations at this practice are deeply problematic. On December 2, 2025, we were pressured to pay several hundred dollars out-of-pocket for my son’s dental work because the billing department could not successfully process our secondary insurance at the time of service. We were promised a prompt refund once insurance cleared. Since then, it has been a six-month struggle to recover our funds. This has included: -13 phone calls and 4 in-person visits to the office. -A three-month delay just to correctly file the secondary insurance (finally completed in March). -Inconsistent communication, including being told just today that the Area Manager was out of the office, only to find they were actually on-site in a meeting. -Being left on hold for 30 minutes before being disconnected. The front desk staff is kind but lacks the authority to resolve financial errors. Unfortunately, the leadership—specifically the Office Manager Shawna—has been unresponsive and has failed to follow through on multiple promises. It is disappointing that a practice with such talented medical professionals allows its reputation to be tarnished by such unprofessional business ethics. We are still waiting for our refund. Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Biancalana and his staff are wonderful. They made sure I was comfortable and pain-free during my procedure. He explained everything he was going to do. My new crown fits perfectly and I was even offered a payment plan to make things easier on my budget. New Beginnings even offers Botox and other facial procedures.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Biancalana is the best dentist I’ve ever had. He truly listens, gives honest advice, and always takes the time to explain my options without ever making me feel rushed. He’s professional, knowledgeable, and somehow manages to make every visit enjoyable with his great sense of humor. The entire team at New Beginnings is wonderful, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional dental care!

Everyone was fantastic, from both of the receptionist, to the hygienist, the assistants, and most importantly the Doc. Highly recommend always. *********1/30/26 Today's visit was one of the best I ever had. Ask for gas and my visit was relaxing. Did not gag one time and did not feel scared. I have I guess you could say PTSD from a dentist when I was a child and just walking in a dentist petrified me. But today was good. Highly recommend Dr. B and his staff for your dental needs. 2/18/26 Returned today to get permanent crown on front tooth. Always a great experience with Dr. B. Negative experience: I visited New Beginnings Dental in Prattville seeking help for a dental emergency after experiencing an issue over the weekend. I came in Monday morning hoping to at least have my situation evaluated and receive guidance on my options. Unfortunately, I was informed that the office was fully booked and the next available appointment was not until April 13. While I was offered a spot on the cancellation list, no effort was made to have the dentist briefly assess my condition or provide any immediate direction. I understand that schedules can be busy; however, in situations involving dental emergencies, a brief evaluation or guidance would have been greatly appreciated. Due to this experience, I will be seeking care with another dental provider.

And it was very hard for me to go in. They helped me so much. Have a plan in place. If you need a dentist look no further. They walk through it with you the whole time.

Negative experience: This is something I don't want to do but I'm very upset about it. I have been going to New Beginnings for at least 3 years and Dr. B is great but after today I will not be going back. First there's all new staff in which this is the second time since I been going. After the conversation I had with the receptionist telling her to cancel my appointment for a mistake she made she had no intentions of trying to make it better like o well . She was rude and inconsiderate.

Negative experience: Its been well over a year and I still can't use my top dentures. He has left a lot of fragments behind and I was charged for the 2 extra times he had to back in and fish them out and I still have bone fragments left behind. Im very disappointed in this office.

Negative experience: When I first went in months and months ago, everyone was nice sweet they told me everything would be covered under insurance just a small co-pay of $165 and I have the paperwork and then as time progressed every time I went in they said nothing was due nothing was due and at the end they said nothing is due the very last time I was there then I get a bill today for almost $1000. This is wrong and I am so angry at them for what’s happened. I am on disability. I don’t have money they told me one thing and they’ve done another plus my dentures don’t even work right they don’t sit right they gag me. I can’t wear them for very long. They bother me there are things not right. I’ve tried to communicate with them, but they’ve not responded back to me and now I’m gonna have to proceed another way if this doesn’t get resolved, It’s saying it’s over 120 days due. I was in there in that whole time 120 days and they kept saying nothing is due. We’ve been transparent. Nothing is due well now this place is going to be exposed for what they are and it’s sad and it makes me angry because at the beginning, I thought they were a good place, but they are not. I do not recommend them. I have a product I can’t use and they are charging me and I have insurance for a reason! Since they don’t have the courtesy to respond to texts and phone calls, we will be going in to discuss this.

Negative experience: My first time going to New Beginnings they thought I was another patient. They told me I didn’t need to pay anything that day and gave me a prescription. When I went to go fill the prescription I realized they gave me someone else’s information which was another patient of theirs with all there info on it. I called right away and told them what happened. Because of that I ended up paying a 100 dollars just for them to write me a new prescription. I went last week on the 17th and they told me I did not have an appointment. I told them my card you gave me said I did. So I made a new appointment for the 25th which was today. I go in today. They tell me that it would cost over 2,000 to get the work done and I would need to pay half of it today. I said 2,000 what happened to the 587 I was told it was going to cost. They said it was what would had been owed if it was under the accidental name that we put you under before we or before you found the mistake. So here’s the thing I will not be going back . They gave out someone else’s info and gave me the wrong price and did not honor the price that they originally told me.

Negative experience: Every bit of work this Dentist has done has failed or needed to be removed within less then a year. Paid for 2 crowns that were not only a wrong fit, had to be removed. Complete waist of money. All so this establishment could get every penny they could out of my insurance and myself. Now that me and my husband are no longer patients, this location is constantly scheduling appointments for us and sending emails about the appointments. I have unsubscribed multiple times and even emailed back asking all contact from this horrible place to stop. Someone in the office thinks its cute to harass us.

Fantastic experience: I had a cap come off of a tooth on a Friday evening after office hours, since it was not hurting I waited until Monday morning to call the office and after the the young lady on the phone made sure it was not hurting and checked the exray on file for my teeth she made an appointment for me on Wednesday early morning. I came in and was out in 20 minutes. The tooth was from another dentist years ago.
