Fantastic experience: The staff is very friendly. They ask how you’re feeling from the time you check in until you are ready to leave. The office is very clean. Dr. Vinston Van and the entire dental staff are very attentive. They check on you the entire time you are in the office. Great communication the entire time you’re in the office. I would recommend St. Cloud Smile is a gem.

Very attentive and polite and will answer all your questions. The office is very clean and organized. Cynthia the hygienist was very thorough as well. Very happy that I found this place.

Negative experience: Dentist lacks beside manners, and very dismissive of concerns. He’s clearly over scheduled as he is running back and forth between all his patients at once, and seems so rushed to dedicate time to you before heading to the next patient. After sharing concerns about the work that was done and what still feels uncomfortable, am told to just schedule another appointment to discuss. I asked if he was the only dentist there and was told yes. Would absolutely not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I moved to St. Cloud July 2025 and came to St. Cloud Smiles. I absolutely love this staff. They are caring and very punctual. I typically don’t like going to the dentist but really enjoy going here.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been patients at St Cloud Smiles since they opened in 2015. Through the years, many dentists and hygienists have come and gone, but what has remained is the outstanding service we receive every time we go there. Their appointment-booking system is reliable, and they send text reminders, which is helpful. They answer the phone quickly with a live person during business hours, a rarity in the healthcare space now. Dental care is also excellent and full service, from cleaning to tooth extraction to root canal and crown. I don't know if they do jaw surgery, but from my view of the office's facility, I don't think so. Our dentist was friendly and took care of us well, even though he was so busy with many patients throughout the day. It's easy to talk with him. All the hygienists and dental assistants we encountered were friendly and took care of us well, too. Occasionally, we experienced premature temporary crown dislodgement, but the dentist fixed it right away. They offer a dental discount program, which is a good option if you don't have dental insurance. I think their discount program is more cost-effective than what you can get from an insurance policy; we have been on this program for a long time. Overall, we are happy with the care and services and would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a new dental office.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. I scheduled my 5 year old son appointment. In the scheduling process and the online portal, I stated he had a thumb sucking issue. The dentist saw my son for 5 seconds and referred me to the pediatric dentist. I asked at the front desk, the office assistant stated they refer all small children out. I had to take a day off work for a cleaning appointment that did not happen and the staff knew they would not be able to complete the work, but scheduled it anyways, As a healthcare worker, I feel like they used me as a way to charge the insurance to make quick money. I now have to pay for the pediatric dentist visit, because this establishment charged my insurance inappropriately .

Fantastic experience: St. Cloud Smiles is the best dental office I've been to in a long time. The doctors are excellent; they take their time to explain everything to me. The entire staff is wonderful, from the front desk staff to the dental assistants and manager. They are very kind and took excellent care of me. I highly recommend this office; the atmosphere is always cheerful and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: I called St. Cloud Smiles to schedule an appointment and was scheduled within the week (awesome, as I was worried I had a cavity). I booked for a new patient exam knowing that was my first step. Patient paperwork was sent to me in email form and was super easy to fill out. Check in was super easy. The front desk and the assistant who took me back was very nice. They asked me what my primary concerns were. I saw Dr. Van and after a few xrays we saw that I had a few cavities and needed a cleaning. They fit me in for both the cleaning and the fillings the same day (amazing!!). I saw Yuly for the cleaning and I felt that my cleaning was very thorough. I didn’t want her to hold back bc that would mean build up left behind. She definitely delivered. Dr. Van has excellent numbing technique, there was no pain just numbing tingles. The filling procedure went perfectly fine. But one thing I do remember clearly was that the doctor was very kind in responses to my anxiety when we paused for a moment. At the end the assistant took a photo of the the filling and I’ve never had someone do that for me. I was able to see the before and after and is it weird for someone to say the filling was beautiful? Or my tooth looked beautiful. Today I am happily chomping on my rejuvenated and sound teeth. The experience was great. If you’re looking for a place where the doctor is kind and skilled, and the vibes are happy, I think this is the place. It’s such a relief to find a dentist I trust who does excellent work.

Negative experience: Initial visits have been great with this practice. I first became a patient At the end of 2021. With my establishing care appointment I was over 30 weeks pregnant, the providers worked with me very well as far as providing me with a cleaning and allowed me to wait until after being pregnant for x-rays. Then my follow up appointment was in 2022 to which I did have x-rays completed. Since then I have maintained routine follow-ups every six months. I went to go in for my most recent appointment, I am currently pregnant Almost 20 weeks. After showing up to my appointment, I was in the waiting room and told I that I was not allowed to be seen and had to have a medical consent completed by my OBGYN Because I’m due for X-rays. They provided me with a consent form and told me to reschedule once I could get that filled out. When receiving the form after looking at it, there was no mention of anything in regards to an x-ray, but Consent in regards to multiple different medications along with potential dental extraction. Nothing of which was mentioned to me. I was under the impression it was only for x-rays. So at this point, I did not provide that to form to my Obgyn. I tried to call back to obtain more information in regards to potentially getting an appointment with an exception of just having my x-ray completed post pregnancy. Just like I did when I first Established care. On the phone, trying to explain my circumstances all that kept being reiterated to me was that my last x-rays were done in 2022 and that I needed X-rays. I tried to explain my circumstances and also explain being a brand new patient there with no baseline x-rays, I was allowed to get a cleaning and just follow up for an X-ray. I was then Just repeated the fact that I had an x-ray in 2022 and I was due for X-rays. She also told me that none of her providers would allow that to happen and she’s not sure who I saw that would have initially allowed that. I requested the receptionist please obtain my previous records and review the fact that I was indeed pregnant on a different occasion and did have a cleaning in the x-ray was delayed. The response was that My first appointment was in 2022 I tried explaining to her that I was seen the end of October in 2021 when I initially established care there. And her response was if I was I sure I went to the dentist office, as if I was confused.I then requested that she look up my husband’s information due to the fact that he also is a patient there and all of our appointments are scheduled for the same day. When looking at my husband’s, she was able to find his visit, but still was denying that I was seen the same day he was. When literally every time we’ve been at this office we’ve been Seen together. She cannot provide me with any response as to why he would have records, and I would not. At this point, I’m just completely appalled at the fact that I have visits that are missing, my husband does not. And the fact that no one’s even willing to take the time to try and work with me or understand where I’m coming from. Especially since I’ve literally been in the same exact situation and this exact office has made an exception, but now, making me feel like I’m making the fact that I’ve been seen there and completely discrediting what I’m saying. What would I possibly gain from making up an entire visit to see a dentist… WHEN MY HUSBAND WAS LITERALLY THERE WITH ME SEEN THE APPOINTMENT PRIOR. The providers all were very nice and Informative in regards to my care, but after this incident, I will be obtaining a new dentist that can hopefully not lose my records and try to make me feel like I’m making up a visit. I just hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else simply trying to do what’s best for them and their situation.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment last month, staff was really courteous at check in, did not have to wait long before they call my name. Cynthia was great, she has gentle hands and the whole process was smooth. I am satisfied with the level of service overall.

Negative experience: I did have a great experience at first with myself and the doctors. We did a complete crown repair so I was there for many visits. I signed up for their dental discount program since I do not have any insurance. I spent a total of 2511.43 on the broken tooth, crown, and deep cleaning for half of my mouth. I brought in my daughter ( 7 ) in for her cleaning and all went well. We found a cavity on a baby tooth that needs to be filled. I explained that I am horrible at the dentist due to prior experiences at other clinics and that I would like my husband to be in the room with us when they give her nitrous oxide . This would be her first time for that and a filling and you never know what kind of side effects someone might have. The nurse said not to worry, we could both be in there. Now to my daughter's appointment. We check in, pay, explained twice that it was okayed to allow both of us back to the room last time we were here..sit and wait, and now we get called up to the front desk to be told we cannot both go back with her. We explained that we were adamant last time and this time that we both go back there. One, I'm a nurse so I can watch for side effects and so he can be our supportive rock. Dr refused to let us both enter the room with our daughter so we requested a refund and canceled appointment. We will not be returning to this office for her or us. Also, The discount program that you sign up for cannot and will not be refunded. My husband has never used his and now refuses to go after this and they will not refund the remaining balance for his membership. I think it is only $90.00 but still. This is why I am changing my review from 5 stars to 2. If you are an adult, they will work with you. I have no complaints on how they crown procedure went. Wouldn't recommend the discount program, wouldn't recommend taking you younger children there, wouldn't recommend using your card as they charge you a large fee as well.

Negative experience: Worse dental office I’ve ever been to. Their scheduling is horrible, they confuse patients with other patients, they’ll cancel your appointment and say they called you but they never do, this place is nothing but a waste of time. I would recommend another dental office. I’d give them zero stars if I could.

Negative experience: I was willing to pay the extreme cost he charges, I asked to please don't give me a antibiotic that don't work anymore for me. I took a loan out to pay him for some work. When I got home he gave me the same exact medication after doing some work for me. So now I'm in pain.

Fantastic experience: My teeth have been in good hands at the office. I have looked forward to my 6 month cleanings with Cynthia as she sends me home with minty teeth and makes me feel good - even though she knows I haven’t been flossing the way I should LOL. Very professional office and staff.

Fantastic experience: As a kid, I always feared the dentist and always had issues with my teeth. Saint Cloud Smiles change the way I felt about the dental process. The people are as genuine as they can get. I am very thankful for meeting Doctor Ball, Van, and P. Van. Their expertise and hard work saved me money and time. I've been a patient at their office for three or more years. Their dental assistants and hygienists are just as knowledgeable as them. I highly recommend this Dentist office.

Negative experience: I was a brand New Patient, this company told me they accepted my insurance. I made a basic appointment. At the end of it, they charged me $200+ out-of-pocket AND billed my insurance over $150 JUST for a basic New Patient Exam, Xray and a "Deeper Cleaning"... This is wrong. DO NOT GO HERE. They will rip you off. Still have no idea what I was charged for. It left a terrible taste in my mouth. I cancelled all my future appointments. Before leaving, I tried to ask why I was even charged so much after my insurance should have covered 100% it. I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone. Very Friendly Staff.. but total rip off over all.. I'll never be back. Extremely disappointed. I was wrongfully charged. I got a second opinion at a different dental office today, they were extremely confused about my charges from this location. I only had to pay $60 for the SAME THING at their dental office. I'll only be going there from now on..

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this office for three years now. My insurance company and this office have decided to go their separate ways, so now I have to find another dentist. St. Cloud Smiles is a great dental practice! Everyone here is so very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. No one really LIKES going to the dentist, but these people made it pleasant. I know I will have a problem finding another practice that is as good. PS Thanks to Helen for her kindness over the phone!!

Positive experience: Unprofessional , waited for an appointment a month for my daughter, had a confirmed email a week before and they cancel it a couple of days before because no longer accepted my insurance . Now I have to find a new dentist, and probably wait another month to see a new doctor

Fantastic experience: Needed an emergency apt for my daughter. Our normal dentist was out of town. Not only did they get her in really fast but were able to get her into an oral surgeon and on the correct treatment for an infected root canal.

Negative experience: God forbid you can’t confirm an appointment 2 WEEKS AHEAD OF TIME! like if nothing happens in two weeks. They will cancel your appointment the same day they send you a text to confirm it. Then when you call back there’s nothing they can do and they will schedule it a month later! Very unprofessional and they are only after your money. (They ask you two weeks in advance so that when u can’t make it then they tell you I’m sorry but u confirmed and now have to a pay the miss appointment fee) every place is two days before not them. For them it’s a whole two weeks. Mind you I did confirm but I said I will let them know for sure for sure on a Friday. But they sent me a confirmation text then 2 hours later when I was still at work and couldn’t reply. they canceled it.
