Fantastic experience: The staff is wonderful.... everyone is very friendly, helpful, attentive, and personable. Helps knock the uncomfortable feeling of having someone working on your mouth and feeling judged for whatever reason. My whole immediate family comes here and even my mother in law.

Negative experience: Sadly I have had to leave the practice after my family being patients there for many years. Harold was fabulous and the new dentists and hygienists are what kept us coming back. I simply cannot take the rude, untrustworthy accounting practices from people in the front office. I am extremely disappointed but am tired of dealing with ignorant office staff just because I like a medical/dental professional.

Negative experience: They got me in for an emergency visit! Thanks but then prices for the exam and to pull one mid tooth was close to $700! I pay out of pocket! No way! I paid for exam and left! Tooth still hurts! Try another place tomorrow! Feel let down and deflated from this way overpriced dentist ! They should earn people upfront about this!

Negative experience: I originally scheduled a cleaning before I was to go off for my trip so that my tech would look brighter for vacation But this office cancel my appointments twice citing an issue with the hygienist. This is ridiculous been a patient for close to ten years well all good things come to an end Very unpleasant experience

Dr. Herbie was so fun and gentle when the kids were little and in all these years we have never experienced even a moment of discomfort or fear. Negative experience: Been coming here for years. My most recent visit, a lady at the front desk was unfriendly and had an attitude.

Positive experience: I went in with high expectations. I needed a tooth extraxted and was in terrible discomfort. They were able to see me in a pretty, timely manner. I was so happy. That's where the review takes a turn. When filling out the papers, i indicated that i was not able to have epinephrine in my novocaine. Most if not all patients dont realize they put this in the numbing agent. Now, in 99% of people, this might not be an issue. However, I am the 1% and specifically asked prior to going in. So, in the chair and seeing my x-ray. The dentist walks in, and i mentioned please no eppi in my novocane. I have high BP and am very sensitive to most things. I can't have any caffine or mouthwash (Listerine) it causes my BP to spike. Well, the dentist tells me...."Don't worry, it just makes your heart flutter a bit. You'll be fine." I was in shock that he could be so cavalier with my health. I decided not to proceed, and my BP was already spiking. I am sure they are reading this going....well screw him then. We dont need his business, I am successful without his problems. So upon exiting, I was charged $250.00 for the single x-ray. At this point, nobody cares amy more. The staff was pretty decent...minus the woman who took my money (she had the personality of aluminum siding). So whatever. I am just a waste of space anyway. Good luck. I am sure i am the only one with issues.

Fantastic experience: Great office. I can get my dental work done free elsewhere but I choose to pay to get it done here. I work with Josie and she is absolutely awesome, really good at what she does, and super cute. Sorry that last part was my phone acting up again. Anywho, I would 100% recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Wow, what can I say, Dr Herbie and Mendelson Family Dentistry are the best Maryland has to offer. I always dreaded going to the dentist as a kid and now as an adult I actually dont mind it. Dr Herbie is a perfectionist and the most amazing Dentist hands down. He always make you comfortable in the chair and sometimes his jokes are funny (jk, they are always funny) but I have always had a great experience. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and the practice is well run by management and especially their Office Coordinator who is also a magnificant at scheduling my appointments and assisting Dr Herbie in the chair as well when needed. Everyone at the practive always makes you feel welcome, and also my hygenist Gen is great and cleans my teeth the best. I have been going to this office for 20 years and have always had a pleasant experience. If you want to see the best Dentist in Maryland then Dr Herbie AKA Dr Tactical is your man!

Negative experience: What a HORRIBLE experience we had with Dr. Herbert Mendelson. We are new to MD and I originally got a cleaning with Dr. Harold Mendelson (which I assume is Herbert's father) and he was lovely. I assumed my teenage kids and family would get the same service and boy was I wrong. My teenage son unfortunately got Dr. Herbert instead of Dr. Harold and I can not tell you how different the experience was. His office had made a mistake in scheduling, which unfortunately impacted us, and rather than taking responsibility for their miscommunication with us he rudely told us he was running behind and had other patients waiting so was unable to provide the services I had scheduled. My son goes to college out of state so his time in MD is limited which they were well aware of and Dr. Mendelson could care less. I was in disbelief at the way he spoke to my teenager. He was beyond rude and disrespectful. He was just as horrible to me and I overheard him speak similarly to his staff. I've never had a "professional" speak to me or anyone like that. He was more fixated on finding out who at the front desk made the mistake rather than using that time to fix my son's teeth. We left their office with no service provided and my son still in pain. I am in awe that this man has a practice at all. I'm sad to think of what the practice will look like once Dr. Harold Mendelson retires. I think he would be ashamed of how his son treated us today.

Negative experience: This morning I visited Mendelson Family Denistry for a routine cleaning visit. I frequent Mendelson Family Dentistry, as I am a huge fan of their DENTAL work. This morning I was confronted by an extremely rude receptionist- Kelly. This wasn’t a surprise to me, as I’ve been treated rudely by their front desk staff in the past. I remained patient and worked with Kelly while she sighed and seemed very annoyed and irritated with my simple request (assistance switching over to my new insurance provider). Kelly sighed over and over again and didn’t provide any additional assistance or helpful tips to my concerns. Fed up with Kelly’s eye rolling and sighing, I told her, “You don’t seem very friendly.” Her response with a smile, “and neither do you”… I proceeded to book my next appointment and left the office feeling disgusted and disrespected. You would think and hope that the front desk staff at a family dentistry treats you with kindness and serves you with a GENUINE smile on a morning weekday as opposed to facetious remarks and annoyed behavior. I will be letting all my family, friends, and subscribers know about the horrible experience I had this morning. I spoke highly of the Family Dentistry’s dental work in the past, but that is now completely overlooked after this ongoing mistreatment at the beginning of my appointments. I hope Kelly finds work that brings her joy and doesn’t continue taking her hostility out on loyal clients. This is a horrible face of the Mendelson Family Dentistry.

Negative experience: Really disappointed in the lack of compassion with this dentist. Charged me $75 when they asked me not to come in for an appointment because I was feeling ill. Be careful. This dentist cares more about making $75 than compassion for a long time patient. Feels like a shakedown. I hope in the future they focus more on good care then trying to take peoples hard earned money. If I had known they were trying to trick me into giving them money they didn't earn. I would've came in. They said covid protocol was in effect and I wasn't allowed in office til I felt better and then charged me for it

Gen is the kindest, gentlest hygienist and has taken care of my family for many years. My husband has had extensive dental work and his crowns are beautiful. My crown and veneer on my front teeth are very natural looking. Extremely pleased with their work. Access from Reisterstown Road is good. Plenty of parking available.

They are thorough and knowledgeable, and keep up with the latest technology. They have always been available whenever we had an emergency (such as my son losing a tooth when playing baseball). They clearly explain what they were doing and any issue that may need to be addressed. They really care about your well-being. Dr. Mendelson and Dr. Herbie are the absolute best! I look forward to seeing them as well as Jen, the hygienist. They always treat you like family. I believe my teeth and gums are healthier because of their care. I always schedule my appointments with my son and we’re both seen at the same time which is a plus for me! The staff is kid friendly and my son always look forward to the gifts at the end. Everyone has been so kind. You can always anticipate being greeted with a smile behind a mask at the front desk with Wendy and the gals. Enjoy great conversations during cleanings with Jenn, Danielle, Ryan, and the crew. Then have a comfortable and informative service with Dr’s Mendelson and Dr. Waranch. I love that I can ask questions and have a better understanding of my dental health. They are Family and we’ll continue to go there for generations to come!

Fantastic experience: I have never had any pain or problems with any procedures. Not one abscess. My teeth look like I have never smoked for 48 years. I have restored some damage . I do come in for 4 cleanings a year too. I think their work is excellent. I am not afraid. I don’t Eve. Feel the needles most of the time. They hAve advance equipment that allowed my partial to fit the first time. I also had never had to make an appointment for any correction of any procedure . I totally trust whatever they advise. I have been going I think at least 16 years. I travel a good distance for this service.
