Fantastic experience: Dr. Lessans was absolutely wonderful. She was thorough, honest, genuine, and took the time to explain everything clearly. After previous experiences that left me feeling unsure, this visit felt completely different. I truly appreciated her professionalism, care, and sincerity. The entire experience at Zaller Family and Cosmetic Dentistry was excellent, and I would highly recommend Dr. Lessans to anyone looking for a dentist who is both knowledgeable and compassionate.

Negative experience: ZALLER FAMILY DENTIST don’t use this dentist HENK-COOPER, MICHELE R. while trying to reline my upper plate she used some kind of stuff that burnt the roof of my mouth then she ground almost all if not all off as they still fit the same way the rest of my association . The important thing is she stole my money!!! I paid for a lower plate to be made and it came back she adjusted it and did that wrong as I had a worse problem as it now cut the inside of my mouth. So told them WANTED MY MONEY BACK. They took back my defective plate but said they won’t give me my money back unless she did another adjustment I said no to that as every time I saw her she hurt me much more than nessacary. So when they said that, I heard we won’t give you your money back til she had another chance to hurt me some more. She (HENK-COOPER, MICHELE R ) is either the worse dentist I have ever seen or just doesn’t care about her patents, So I say again don’t use the so called dentist. For your sake!!

Negative experience: My family had been loyal customers for over 15yrs. Over the years we have had several incidences where we were overcharged for something but it was always blamed on insurance or a mistake on their part. Mind you, we have excellence insurance and have never had this issue at any other medical facility, orthodontist or anywhere else. This became a consistent occurrence that happened just about every time we went in for an appointment. When we question suspicious charges, they would adjust the bill and remove a portion, only to add charges back on our account as an “outstanding balance.” Many times they would submit the wrong code for the service and make adjustments only after being questioned. We would always end up paying the balance, not knowing if it’s totally correct but trusting them. My wife recently had her tooth fall out that Dr. Zaller himself put in not even a year ago. When she went back, they had the nerve to charge her to put it back in! They submitted the bill for insurance to pay but when she went back in for a routine cleaning maybe a month later, she was told we had a balance. My wife asked to speak to Dr. Zaller for clarity. When he came out, she simply asked if this was the correct amount charged to put the tooth back in. He immediately raised is voice and threw a very defensive and unprofessional tantrum right there in the lobby, throwing his hands up and yelling, ”WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? IT’S THE INSURANCE COMPANY! I CAN’T CONTROL WHAT THEY WILL COVER!!” She just walked out. Since this incident he has been “unavailable” and avoiding my calls. If you like being overcharged and dismissed then this is your dentist. Otherwise, I would suggest finding somewhere else to go. To be fair, I will say Dr. Lessans is AMAZING but we will not be going back there!

Fantastic experience: Dr Shenk is amazing and has went above and beyond to bring my smile back to life! ❣️ This office has been so amazing the staff are so easy to talk to and they keep you updated with texts so you will never forget an appointment. So happy I found them they are a God send.

Fantastic experience: Came in for my first dental cleaning in years today after avoiding them because of my anxiety. Dr Lessans and her assistant listened to my fears from the moment I stepped in the room (visibly anxious) and did everything they could to make me comfortable, even allowing my significant other to sit in the room with me! They helped me through my anxiety of getting the numbing shots and spoke with me the entire time they worked! I’ve never had such a positive experience in a dental office before! I left feeling much less fearful for my return visit in a few weeks! Thank you so much for your kindness and care! ❤️ You have no idea how much of a difference you’ve made today!!

Negative experience: Worst dentist place ever, I won’t recommend.

Negative experience: Not sure who the receptionist is, but I called trying to reschedule an appointment and she cut me off before I could complete my sentence, telling me that nothing is available until September. I tried to explain that I already have an appointment on the calendar, and she cut me off again saying that ALL patients are impacted. She didn't ask who my doctor is nor did she offer a waiting list. Her terse responses irritated me, so I said I will find a new practice. I think it's wonderful that the practice has grown so much that you can discard loyal customers. I literally followed Dr. Lessans from her prior practice to both of the Zallers locations, but the staff here has gone waaayyyy down. Honestly, I was down to one day that I'm willing to visit the practice, since the hygienist that I love only works one day a week. I made the mistake of trying another hygienist on my last visit. Not only did we have a disagreement on whether she should suction or whether I should swallow saliva, but she tried to bring in a different doctor to complete my exam when I know she saw my doctor's name on the chart. Thankfully, I quickly found a new home for my dental care needs.

Fantastic experience: Been coming to Dr Zaller for 30 years and he is the best!! Staff is friendly and they all are always helpful, Missy is awesome and I'm so happy she is back! Anyone who has a problem with anyone at this office should look in a mirror!!!

Fantastic experience: I took my daughter to see Dr. Lessons and she was very pleasant and helpful. The wait time was not long at all.

Negative experience: I have severe dental anxiety due to some bad work in the past that I relayed to this office. There were no provisions made for this whatsoever for 1 nor any type of patience for this. They were quick to drop me due to my insurance it seems. Also I really feel like they tried to get me to follow a plan that would NOT have been beneficial for me in the long term but would be more costly instead. They seem very money hungry & They’re just not the warmest environment for a “family dentist”… saying I haven’t been there in 6 months sounds crazy- how often do people go to the dentist WTH?! And as stated I have dental anxiety that wasn’t addressed at all AND a LIFE! 2 broken appointments in over a year and I’m DISMISSED?!? Would you do that to a person paying cash or with better insurance?? Sounds pretty racist, classist, elitist, and I could ON with how low class that type of behavior would be considered. If I wasn’t a black woman im betting I’d still be a patient… PERIOD. Now stop trying to gaslight people!

Fantastic experience: Been going to practice since 2020. Dr Shenk is awesome, kind, compassionate, understands my needs and has gone above and beyond when needed. Very much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: I'm not one to usually leave reviews - good or bad. But I really have to give one for this office and in particularly, Dr. Shenk! I have been seeing Dr. Shenk in this office now for over a year, and she really rocks. I initially came in over a year ago with a plethora of dental issues stemming from almost a decade of neglect due to extreme fear of going the dentist. Every time I have gone in for treatment, her attention to detail and bedside manner really brings my anxiety to ease, and the results after treatment are even better. My teeth are fixed, my smile looks great, and I am beyond grateful and thankful for that. Would also like to say that my experience with Dr. Lessan's was fantastic as well. A few months ago, she performed an emergency root canal for me in the office on the same day that I called, and she was terrific as well. I highly recommend this office for your dental needs. Ken, Davina, and the rest of the office staff are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. 10/10 for these folks!!!

Negative experience: WILL NEVER GO BACK AND DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE, Since it was near my house so I chose them, they were respectful in the beginning when they were in small house office right next to wawa, after they moved to bigger fancy location, attitude, demeanor changed, one day I came late 10 mins and receptionist said they can’t take me because I’m 10 mins late, no problem, and they wanted to charge me $50.00 for it. On my next visit I came 10 mins prior to my appointment, although I still waited 40 mins before I can be seen, I guess they should’ve paid me $50 this time. As we all know it doesn’t work like that. Anyways, next appointment I had, I didn’t realized it was a my religious holiday so prior to that appointment I called and talked with old man and canceled my appointment due to a religious holiday, and can’t reschedule it right now because we are booked for five months or I can call you back, yeah sure that’s fine thanks, Next day I called to schedule and I’m surprised by telling that we can’t schedule because you canceled your appointment, then I spoke with a female supervisor, she was so ignorant because they didn’t want me anymore there because of my religion I believe, everything was fine prior to that, I felt type of discriminated. That day my wife canceled all of her scheduled appointment with them.

Negative experience: Edited to reply to the owner's question : I don't recommend this institution. while the dentists were really good. The management or the people who submit the insurance claim as well as the account manager are not properly educated on how to submit the claims (That is the feeling I got based on my experience). My wife had her cleaning done and they submitted the claim incorrectly. I had to follow up more than four times to fix it over 4 months and they were not able to understand ANYTHING and did not bother to fix it. They only care about the INCORRECT outstanding amount and warn you that they will report to collection, DESPITE THEIR FAULT. Finally I had to give up and paid the outstanding amount THOUGH I'm FULLY COVERED BY INSURANCE just so that I don't need to deal with them. What a pain in the neck! The worst part is the receptionist in all the calls I made was rude and incompetent. EDIT : Yes I am sure I have the correct office. Of course you have my name and my wife's name in your records. Like I mentioned in my review, I have been behind you guys for months, no one bothered to fix ANYTHING or even reach out to me despite my review here.

Positive experience: It’s unfortunate that I have to make this post and I’ve only been to this place once, I was seen yesterday and had a somewhat good experience. My assistant was amazing the front staff was amazing but the dr was VERY RUDE as a pregnant woman and for it to be my first time the dr should not be so rude I did enjoy the staff and I will return requesting not to be seen by that specific dr. I can’t remember her name, if I have another bad experience with a dr I will be looking for another dentist office.

Negative experience: I find that the incompetence is astronomical How is it that I call and tell you'll I have a memory issue you make appointments without verifying them so you then tell client that they have to find new dentist! This is totally horrible to the client and makes it harder for the client to find another dentist with no help from your Dental Clinic

Fantastic experience: What a great job Dr sheak did when filling a cavity on my front teeth. I couldn’t even see where she had drilled and removed the cavity. Now today, she removed my back molar tooth, that had broken off and put me in great pain. she did this on short notice and with a busy schedule. choosing her as my dentist was one of the smartest moves I have ever made. If she doesn’t qualify as a five star dentist, no one does.

Fantastic experience: The office was conveniently located in Reisterstown with plenty of parking. I didn't even sit down in the waiting room before they took me back. The assistant was extremely pleasant taking X-rays and explaining what was going to happen. The dentist was extremely friendly and took a very thorough history. Before doing a routine cleaning, she very carefully examined my mouth and asked pertinent questions. Despite usually having quite sensitive teeth, the cleaning was very comfortable without any discomfort. She gave me advice based on the exam and cleaning and I was off to the rest of my day. An absolutely excellent experience. I highly recommend this practice.
