Negative experience: The staff was fine. Until, at the end of my appointment, the frontdesk clerk told me the Hygienist diagnosed a deep cleaning. I politely declined because I don't have $1000 for a deep cleaning at the moment. I told her that I want for now, the basic cleaning. She told me NO because the Hygienist diagnosed a deep cleaning and they refuse to do the basic cleaning covert by my dental insurance. A Hygienist can not diagnosed anything in the state of Florida. The Hygienist can tell the findings to the dentist and only the dentist can do the final diagnosis. The dentist Javier never said that to me. I filed a complaint with my dental insurance because they can not refuse to do the basic cleaning or force you to pay for a deep cleaning. I will not coming back to this office again and I don't recommend this dental office to anyone. Clearly the only want to take your money, force you to do what they want and not following the most basic and ethics rules. Im bilingual, English and Spanish and the conversation was in Spanish and English with the frontdesk clerk and the Hygienist listening. Its not a misunderstanding. Check the reviews. You will see i am not the only patient they have done this.

Negative experience: The dentist extracted a molar for me, and in the process, she broke a crown that was part of a dental bridge. They told me I need to pay to have that bridge remade. After the dentist placed it, I realized that the bridge hadn't been made correctly, as food kept getting trapped underneath the crown. I went back to the dentist and informed them that the crown was defective; they told me they would submit a request to have a new one made for me, six months went by, and they never called. I called them to inquire about my crown, and they told me to come into the clinic (six months later) Upon my arrival, they removed the crown, but in the process of taking it off, my tooth broke. They were no longer able to place another bridge because the supporting tooth had fractured. I have lost my tooth, and they are refusing to make a crown for the adjacent tooth which was also part of that original bridge or to provide an implant for the tooth I lost, or my money back. This was a nightmare.

Fantastic experience: I had alot of anxiety and Shanei reassured me and made me feel comfortable. She was thorough and did not hurt me during my deep teeth cleaning. She took her time and answered all my questions. Also saw Dr Echevarria a few weeks before for initial visit and he actually sat down and asked questions regarding my dental issues in the past and about moving forward. Did not feel rushed at all which I have not had that at other dentists offices.

I felt like I went to the pool today for a swim, water splashing all over my face and clothes. Stay away from this dentist office. They are sales people not a real caring dentist office. Trash! Fantastic experience: My first time there and I do have plans to return. The entire staff was welcoming and professional at my arrival. I had Camilla and she did let me know she was new and training. She was so sweet and I didn’t mind her training/learning with me. The dental hygienist (her name escapes me please forgive me) was professional and knowledgeable. I appreciated her help during my time there. Dr. Truong listened to me and shared her concerns. She was both knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend Sage Dental.

Negative experience: I really loved sage dental when I started going the path but then the incident happened where I was make an appointment to put my gold tooth back on to my teeth, and they made an appointment instead to put a cap on my tooth in which I didn't know about it, I thought I was going to get my gold tooth put in, and the doctor came in. He started sawing my tooth. And of course, I can say nothing, because the sound is in my mouth, and then he proceeded to A white cap over my tooth After I was able to speak to him, he said it was to put a cap, I say you have my goal to cap back on. And when I talked to the girl Stephanie had to death, she told me my insurance proved for and then she says she never told me that it just was a bunch of lies. They were supposed to get the recording for me that was last year, September and I still haven't received a recording from them in fact, because I kept calling up there talking about it, they told me don't come to their office anymore. And I felt like that's a very wrong , they cut a perfectly good tooth to put a cap on it , not my goal cap that I wanted a regular white cap , and I know they did that in order to try to build my insurance for money.

Negative experience: First, I would like to say everyone in the office is pleasant & comforting. Second, I would like to express to all… Have them go over each line of your treatment plan & show (prove) to you what they actually doing or did. My mistake! I had 2 things listed; a crown build up (113.00) & a gingivectomy (399.20). I questioned these and was assured it would be removed if not performed. The crown in question was a replacement crown. I’ve had 2 other crowns replaced at another DDS since and neither of these 2 cost were needed. After the DDS @ Sage removed the existing crown the dental asst. made the temporary and this is all that took place. I’ve had about 20 crowns placed in my 68yrs. Very sad you can’t trust Professionals these days. It’s all about the $. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED OF THE WAYS OF THIS COMPANY.

Negative experience: I have gone to Sage dental for about 3-4 years. Thought they were ok at first, but my hygienist chipped one of my front teeth while cleaning. She said at the time “this is on me”, yet nothing was done to fix it. Then they had a special on teeth whitening and the product they used made my lips swell and the thing that put in my mouth started going into my throat and I was gagging so I told her to stop. Still had to pay the full amount even though it was not completed. She sold me toothbrush heads for an electric toothbrush they sell even though I told her I don’t have that kind of electric toothbrush. Had to return them. Last straw was when my hygienist told me to go to an entidonist in Plant City. for a root canal consultation and it turned out to be the appt for the root canal. My appointment was at 12:00. I got there 10 min early. I sat there for 25 minutes and asked when I would be called. I was told when a room was ready. I waited until 12:40 and asked again. I was told “ well, you got here early. When a room is ready”. I said I wanted my money back and left. A while later I got a bill for $100.00 for a no show fee. It would have been $150.00 but the refunded my $24.00 x2 for my toothbrush heads that I told my hygienist wouldn’t fit my toothbrush. Do not recommend.

Negative experience: Too many procedures suggested by an employee who seemed well versed in sales techniques. The procedures added up to a significant amout of pot of pocket expenses. When we turned them down, they would not do a standard cleaning.

Negative experience: Dont come here if you want personalised dental work. I came today with my wife to have a simple cleaning done and when they saw me they handed me a bill for almost $200 when i have insurance that covers my cleanings because they felt that i needed a special medication during my cleaning. I explained to them clearly that i understand what their saying but as of right now i just want to do the cleaning without the medication. They absolutely refused to clean my teeth essentially wanting it their way or the highway not understanding that i did not want to pay for that medication and even became very rude with me. Then afterwards went to my wife that was getting checked by the dentist saying that there is “no other place that would help me”. Turn out they were wrong Greenberg Dental saw me for FREE that same day with my insurance and the same medication was only $60 instead of $200. These people at Sage Dental were just trying to rip me off. Me and My wife wont be bringing our business here anymore.

Negative experience: Went for an emergency appointment and the only thing addressed was the upselling of services. Went for a second opinion only to find out about $2500 of the work quoted was unnecessary. Save yourself time, money and aggravation….stay away!

Negative experience: They didnt match my partial to my teeth. And then got upset with me when I complained,plus, my upper teeth are too big, , they fit, but my original teeth weren't this big. Im not happy with this at all

Negative experience: From day one, my experience with this dental office was a nightmare. It started when they couldn’t even place a simple filling and instead pushed me toward getting a crown. Just a week later, they told me the crown wouldn’t hold and said I needed an implant — which costs thousands of dollars. Meanwhile, they extracted my tooth unnecessarily. Their temporary crowns didn’t stay in place at all, causing more stress and discomfort. When I ordered a flipper from them, I waited two weeks — only to be told it wasn’t ready and they failed to notify me. Then it took another two weeks and after 4 weeks they made the flipper for the wrong person’s jaw! So I waited a full month, toothless — and they still blamed me and tried to charge me extra for their mistakes. I was left without a front tooth for 1.5 months, and now even the neighboring tooth is damaged — likely because of their poor treatment. Absolutely the worst dental experience I’ve ever had. Stay far away unless you want serious dental problems, wasted time, and unnecessary costs.

Positive experience: I love the dental hygienist Kim and Dr. Echevarria. Rating 3 stars because my problem is with the front office who literally is so uninformed and unprofessional. Always have problems when I go bc they can’t ever seem to know what they’re doing. It’s annoying and they make me waste my time! And when I have questions or can’t I understand something they talk to me like if I was stupid. I would literally not step foot back here again IF I didn’t love the practitioners.

Negative experience: I drove twenty five minutes each way. And sat there for twenty minutes. To be told that yes, they take my insurance, but just not that plan.And because I did my paperwork only a few hours before my appointment.They couldn't tell me that before I came in. I. Spoke directly to my insurance company.And they told me that they took my insurance at that provider. I'm sorry for the inconvenience just doesn't cover anymore. I'm in pain and need.2 teeth pulled and have been waiting for months to get in somewhere.That took my insurance. So thank you very much for nothing.

Fantastic experience: Super friendly, professional, helpful,clean, considerate, enthusiastic,and excellent craftsman! June 20,2025 I went to Sage for my routine cleaning and Becca was my hygienist. She was able to get me in early so I could get back to work, Becca was incredibly helpful, extremely knowledgeable, very polite and she helped me out with some tips for my routine at home!! From the office staff to the doctors I have always had a wonderful experience at Sage Dental. They always are able to accommodate my schedule, they offer easy payment options, they always send me reminders for appointments and they are always so helpful and friendly!! When I go back & talking then with lovely Ari, same Convo regards to graft. Guess what I got an extraction w/bone graft. It's been an awful 5 days. Negative experience: Horrible customer service. Front staff was defensive and unprofessional when asked to explain discrepancies in billing for insurance. I spent an hour on the phone with insurance and turns out Sage lied and charged me out of network rates when I was told they were in Network and they didn't even file claim with my insurance. Furthermore in both my estimate for a routine cleaning and root canal they attempted to upcharge for unnecessary services. Deceptive, dishonest practices. I canceled my follow up appt and am looking for a new dentist that won't try to scam me. 1 Star is not low enough.

Negative experience: Rude office staff. Came in for an insurance covered cleaning and they tried to force me into $200+ of extra payment and refused to do the insurance covered cleaning. I even called my insurance afterwards and they confirmed that there was no earthly reason why I should be quoted that amount for a cleaning in network. Front office lady got rude and shut me down when I asked questions. The other reason I came in beyond the cleaning was for a chipped tooth that was in a severe amount of pain. They made me wait over an hour past my appointment for a 5 minute exam and x-ray and now I have to wait 3 weeks for the root canal I was referred to because they can't do it in house. Horrible experience. Save your time and energy and go somewhere where they'll actually respect you and treat you like a human being.

Fantastic experience: Very impressed with the dental office and it's employees....dental assistant, front desk and the dentist..Dr. E. Made me feel comfortable once the nerves calmed down. Being a first time patient with this office, I was a bit worried. Explained what my problem was. I broke 2 teeth on my upper denture . The only thing I was not happy with, I was told 3 weeks before I can get my dentures back. For example: my other dentist (who isnow retired)in Boca Raton had done some work on dentures.,(relining them) , and at the most, if I didn't get them back the same day, I got them the next day. I called their office to ask if this was a normal procedure, and of course, they said it was ridiculous....it was not like they were making dentures(which I had gotten back the next day also). This was the only negative thing about my visit. I do intend to stay with Sage dental because I needed to establish myself with a dentist.

Fantastic experience: First time visiting the clinic and the entire staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Dr. Echevarria along with Rebekah were above and beyond expectations. In this day and age it's always a challenge to find a provider who truly cares and pays attention to your needs and this provider did just that. Hopefully he and his staff will practice there for quite sometime as we tend to loose a lot of good medical providers going to other locations. Thank you for going above and beyond.

Fantastic experience: Best initial dentist appt ever. They are so friendly, have state of the art equipment which made X-rays the easiest and least painful ever. They have a screen in front of the chair allowing you to see all the X-rays as soon as they take them. Very professional. I’ve been to quite a few dentists and will be sticking with this one. (Had initial visit, deep cleaning, and made dental plan with dentist)

Negative experience: I spent almost 2 years getting my teeth done which is fine. I paid every time I walked out and I never went until they say my insurance was approved. Now they keep sending me outraging bills that they say I didn’t pay, I have receipts and everything. My front tooth that was supposed to was suppose to have crown with pin in it. Fell out while I was talking today and I called and they told me I can come but it will be over 2 hrs before I see them and when I did the doctor was trying to do other stuff to make money, instead of fixing what they did wrong. Any way, I went to Lakeland Family Art and Dr. Cody did me a temporary until a tooth latch (I believe that’s what you call it) and in the next day. Sage won’t listen and they double charge. Both Medicare and Liberty Dental been trying to help me resolve this for 2 months. I’m On disability due to my RRMS. I won’t return again. Very disappointed!! I fell in the shower face first while having a seizure. I paid everything in owed. It’s just very sad and disappointing, but we are getting down to it. I hope this helps and blessings all! Be careful when choosing a dentist.

I tried to refuse a procedure but Rebekah told me it was 'mandatory'. The dentist, Vy Truong, didn't even see me during my visit. Edit: contacted the feedback email in the response below and they have not responded in over a week. Absolutely disgraceful customer service

Fantastic experience: Great first visit here. It’s been about 4-5 years since I’ve been to a dentist due to no insurance and anxiety. Registered Dental hygienist Kimberly took the fear away! She walked me through each step of the cleaning and gave me info on how to better my health, she was super sweet and gentle. Dr Echevarria explained options to repair a deep cavity/broken molars and referred me to their Endo in Plant City. The entire staff was friendly and helpful and walked me through the estimated costs of procedures. Big shoutout to the front desk ladies for pushing to get my insurance to work! Even with insurance it’s not cheap but that is expected when catching up on years of no dentist visits.

Fantastic experience: I am pleased with my dentist Dr. Javier Echevarria, DMD and the excellent hygienist Kimberly S. I've been to different dental providers in my life and I honestly can say I no longer fear getting my teeth checked and cleaned. They actually care about what they do and for me as the patient. They even shared condolences with the passing of my husband who was also a patient at the office.

Positive experience: The hygienist was caring, patient and did an excellent job. The office was unfamiliar with Medicare vs private dental insurance. They billed Medicare and I was denied. Private dental insurance is always primary & Medicare is secondary! I hope that helps someone else!! The claim is still unresolved but my teeth are clean & I’m happy with the service of the hygienist!

Negative experience: DO NOT visit this office. I indicated on my notes, multiple times that I had different types of heart disease. I had to remind the dentist at the end of the visit. I was asked "did your doctor tell you to take antibiotics for teeth cleanings". I replied "I was told to let the dentist know I have heart problems before any "dental work" in general." They are very un- knowledgeable and risking their AHCA compliance. They are NOT transparent. Oral cancer screenings can be done at many doctors covered by insurance (including ENT specialist). Was told the dentist "doesn't deal with gum diseases" and the oral hygienist "don't have knowledge about teeth". Also a 360° panoramic X- Ray is not necessary to address most dental needs. A "bitewing" X- Ray is the standard method and is effective for dentistry as a well. The health department has a knowledgeable dentist, regulated more heavily. They also have no reason to try and upsell you un- needed procedures.
