The practice is a little pricey, but I think it’s worth it because it is prioritizing your health than just cleaning your teeth. Everyone is so kind and helpful.

Because I have a heart condition, Dr Maples had my cardiologist fax instructions for the proper care. She then came in on a scheduled day off to perform the work. I received excellent care and suffered minimal discomfort. Both my wife and I gone to Dr Maples for a number of years, and she once again lived up to her fine reputation.

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful to Dr. Susan Maples and the staff at Total Health Dentistry. A family emergency brought me to Lansing, and my bridge came off when I arrived. Only it wasn’t just my bridge but some parts of my teeth. Long story short, at 70, my teeth were a mess. Dr. Susan went through everything that would need to be done; we discussed costs and options and devised a plan. She was respectful even though I knew the mess was my own making. Six weeks later, I feel so much better after several extractions, crown prep, and implant prep. She ensured the procedures were pain-free, kept me informed through everything, and she and her wonderful staff set me on the road of righteous dental care. I love her approach. Before we started a treatment plan, Susan and the staff interviewed me to discuss my health, including diet and fitness, where I was in life at 70, and where I was going in the future. I felt like a whole person, not just a set of teeth in the chair. She is a an exceptional dentist; my case was challenging, and I admire her skill. I love the staff and the whole office vibe.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. First of all we had to sit in the waiting room for 1 hour before they took us back.We were on time, ten minutes early actually. Then Susan filled my son’s filling, started the second one and wouldn’t finish it because he was disturbing the office. Mind you she numbed him twice already and drilled to start the filling and then wouldn’t do it. He has had nothing but problems with his tooth since she filled it, and his cheek. I’m not impressed whatsoever. I wouldn’t recommend that office at all. Especially for kids. Also my bill was $639 for this visit. Absolutely ridiculous.

We were told by numerous people our lip tie wouldn’t affect breast feeding and after the procedure we latched with no complications and have been doing great since then! I will recommend her to everyone with latching issue or lip/tongue ties!

Positive experience: Knows how to listen to what the patient wants or needs but always seems to talk about things that are unrelated to what’s going on or talking about the overall workspace. I still think everyone is kind and genuine but for those that don’t particularly enjoy workers talking about topics that don’t involve their teeth while working then it’s not meant for you.

Unfortunately, my previous (wonderful) hygienist had retired. Now, whenever you invite a stranger to poke around in your mouth with sharp pointy metal things and a vacuum it can often start off a bit awkward. I know, right? But rather than strike up a one-sided conversation with me while picking at my gumline, this wonderful person simply cradled my head in her angel hands and sang to me as she deftly cleaned my teeth. Something I would like to share to validate this. I have recently broken my crown on a Sunday while eating. This caused great discomfort especially with eating and drinking. I called the office number and the message actually gave me Dr Maples’ personal cell phone to call. I did call her cell phone and she had answered right away. It was so relieving when she told me that she can see me the next day. Her friendly office staff called me the next morning right when the office had opened and got me in the same day. Dr. Maples was able to place a temporary crown on me to relieve my pain and discomfort. It was so comforting to know that Dr Maples is always available and so responsive especially in times of emergency situations.
