Negative experience: Went here for a couple years, due to the high cost and confused secretary staff I had to find a new dentist. I waited 40 minutes to be seen for Botox and another 45 to get Botox, and then asked for a plan for my crown and it was double the price of what I just paid. Don’t hesitate to shop around! Not a professional environment, and I’m a year late on dental care because of this.

Fantastic experience: I've been to many different dentists, safe to say my experience in this dentistry was the most sophisticated one. I've came in to fill up some holes on my teeth, they were most careful to not make it painful and they did a great job on that. I never in my life felt so comfortable during the dentist appointment like this one. The only most painful part of the whole treatment was anticipating for the needles to inject anesthetic. Even the anesthetic wasn't too painful, not to mention the treatment. Dr. Trevor was the most amazing dentist I've met. I had a great experience with Montana and him the whole time, very fun and relaxing experience I'd never expected to have in the dentist office. I'm definitely coming back for my wisdom teeth here.

Fantastic experience: Given my age (well over 50) I have a lotta experience with dentists. Have had good and even great ones over the years but the office of Dr. Gordon West is the best.....ever. Here's why: You are handled with care and kindness the entire way. Greeted when you show up and what's especially important is how insurance/ billing is handled on the back end, they are superb with working out the details and following through. Reilly, my current Hygienist, knows everything there is to know about maintaining my teeth, gives me specific things to do and, with my help (haha), over time I'm seeing results. Dr. West communicates clearly, puts me at ease with what has to be done, the work is done properly and his Assistants are all so well trained and care for their patients. From start to finish, this crew is the best there is and I trust them completely, very grateful.

After heavy avoidance I finally took the plunge to get a full overhaul of my poor mouth. 20+ years of periodontal desiese taking its toll, I knew I was in for a long ride and searched the internet for a team with the best reviews and the internet did me right. From front desk to specialists to assistants to finance guidance, every member of this office has been beyond helpful, informative and given special touches to make starting this journey as comfortable as possible for this anxious girl. There is no upselling or pressuring of extra services and everyone has put so much extra attention into finding the best process to reach the result I need, going so far as giving out their personal cell phone numbers in case I had questions or concerns at any time of day. They have even bypassed services others would recommend, because they wouldnt be the optimal benifit, proving that they are not on the clock trying to rake in all the money they can. There are many clinics closer to my home, but after one meeting with this team, I knew traveling would be well worth the incredible treatment I have recieved. I am only at the beginning of a long journey, and I couldn't express strongly enough how happy I am that I chose this office. Dr. Johns has been very informative and dedicated to guiding me to exactly what I need without bias on his personal opinions, and Chris, in finance, has gone above and beyond to guide me on any options available to me. I could not recommend a dental office more! *Edit to expand After what feels like endless surgeries, I am now, I think, 5 rounds in on correcting my teeth and periodontal desiese and I am still over the moon about this dental office. Dr. West is incredibly thoughtful and thorough as we continue this journey. He takes great care to listen to every detail of my journey and make it as effortless as possible. I think I have interacted with every person employed by the practice and can not express the genuine care and attention I recieve every single visit. Mid way through, my husband changed jobs throwing our finances into chaos and Chris with finance has been insanely helpful navigating payments. I thought I would have to put a postponement in a crucial part of the journey but everyone assures us, their patients are more important than their paychecks. I litterally cried from relief at the willingness to work with us through this. And let me say, when an assistant comes to call you back for your appointment saying "mine mine mine!" With a big bear hug, it's impossible to feel anything less than family vibes. Even the anesthesia folks are unspoken heros. I notoriously get bad reactions from anesthesia, and after 3 rounds, never once have I woken up with headaches and nausea I have come to expect and dread. I wish I could truly express how grateful and thankful I am to have trusted Boulder County Smiles with my care but there really are not enough words to do so!

Fantastic experience: I used to live nearby but drive from Denver now, and it’s so worth it. I feel like they are a part of my healthcare team because their expertise goes so far beyond basic cleanings. Im currently getting a sleep study with them! They are also just such kind people and seem joyful to do what they do. I had a rough dental experience as a kid that left me distrustful of dentists, but the professionalism and warmth of Boulder County Smiles has changed that for me.

Negative experience: Let me begin by saying that the dental assistant and the dentist I saw were absolutely wonderful. My consultation went very well, and I was genuinely interested in having my dental work done at this office. Unfortunately, my experience with the front office staff made me reconsider. When I arrived, the receptionist was noticeably rude and dismissive. The main issue, however, was with the staff member handling my insurance. I was repeatedly told that my date of birth was incorrect, even though it was accurate. My follow-up emails went unanswered, and I was informed that the person responsible was out of the office. Phone calls were not returned, and my voicemails received no response. I hope this feedback reaches the management team, as it seems some improvements are needed in the front office’s communication and professionalism. It is also concerning that there appears to be no way to contact anyone beyond the front desk, who can only “take a message.” I shared my disappointment with the manager, Lizzy, but unfortunately did not receive a response. While I truly appreciated the care and professionalism of the dental team, the lack of responsiveness and courtesy from the office staff has made me go elsewhere.

Negative experience: Not good. If I could give a negative star I would. I waited a long time to get the appointment. When I arrived they didn’t know why I was there. Once they found out I was not there for an expensive procedure just an easy filling of a veneer, I waited 15 minutes for Dr West. I finally had to leave without getting my filling. You cannot expect people to wait for that long. You have to respect your customers time. I have referred people to your office but will not do it again. I have been to your clinic for over 15 years but am considering finding a new dental office.

Everyone was so amazing and even managed to reschedule me to later in the day when I had a last-minute emergency that came up. The hygienist was super friendly and efficient, she and Dr. Deere made the experience pleasant, smooth, and I honestly would not go anywhere else.

They're like the Starbucks of the dentistry world!" All seriousness, I've never left a place feeling better about the day, especially for dental work, then after leaving BCS. I have Dr Johns as my main dentist and he generally cares about helping to give people, at least in my experience, a good experience. He's kind, knowledgeable, and does great work. The dental hygienist are all also super friendly and personable. As are the staff at the front desk. Only negative experience I've had has been with scheduling. Most of my cleanings seem to be rescheduled the day I get the notification about my upcoming appointment in two or three days. Only other place I used to get dental work done is Boulder Dental Center in Boulder. I was a patient there for 12 years and never had a rescheduled appointment. To be fair as well, during Thanksgiving Season this past year, I had to reschedule a bunch on my end due to work demands. I just think it's good to note though incase flexibility is an issue for you. All that said, I think this place is great and the staff is inclusive, caring, and very welcoming.

Fantastic experience: Dr. West and his staff are AMAZING. I have been seeing him for years now and haven't posted a review until now because I get overwhelmed trying to capture how very much I love him as my dentist. When I first came to him years ago, I had some major dental anxiety due to some bad experiences with another dentist. After working with me to ease my anxiety, I no longer fear going to the dentist. Dr. West has always been considerate, compassionate, friendly, and kind, aside from being a *stellar* dentist. He has my best interests at heart, and I appreciate his conservative approach. Fantastic experience: I owe so much to Dr. West and his entire dental practice. For many years I needed nitrous gas and IV sedation for all of my dental procedures. Over the years, I have gone to many dentists who are harsh and judgmental towards me because of my dental problems. I was raised by two parents who both had dentures in their early 20s and the only time that we went to the dentist was when we had pain. Not only did we not limit our sugar intake, but we were not taught proper dental hygiene. With the help and patience of Dr. West’s team as well as taking the time to explain to me what to expect, I have been able to get my necessary dental care without anything other than local anesthesia. Today I have a healthy and beautiful smile that I can feel confident about. I have known Dr. West from the beginning when I first started coming in 2012. Dr. John’s redid my failed dental implants and tissue graft for a previous dentist. Dr. West has had to redo majority of my dental work that was done incorrectly at a previous dental practice. Today I had a visit with Dr. West and Gia to replace an old crown. Gia was very attentive and thoughtful. She brought me a blanket and turned on the massager on the dental chair. She carefully explained what I could expect during the visit. Her professionalism and caring nature made me very comfortable during this visit. I appreciate that this is not cookie cutter dentistry. They take the time to listen to my concerns and then find the very best solution for my individual needs. It would be remiss of me not to mention how thankful I am for Janessa and her regular cleaning and exams. She always make sure to raise any concerns that she may have with one of the doctors. Such an excellent and cohesive team!!!

Fantastic experience: I had a great appointment with Boulder County Smiles.I highly recommend them to anyone needing dental care.It was my first appointment with them for a dental cleaning which included much more, A panoramic x-ray as well as separate x-rays of all teeth, plus tips i.e. for me, a better way to hold dental floss. Everything was explained to me prior or as the cleaning was being done. Everyone is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I will be returning in November for another cleaning.

She remembered my treatment preferences, and everyone there goes out of their way to make sure your questions are answered and that you feel comfortable. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Fantastic experience: Dr. West is the top dentist in the area in my opinion. I have seen him for 20 years and have never been in a better office. The entire team is very welcoming and provides wonderful service. If you need a dentist look no further. My entire family has switched to this office after seeing pediatric dentists. My kids are extremely comfortable coming to this office.

Negative experience: I deal with migraines and was talked into a mouth appliance before covid and spent thousands up-front being told one thing.... That Dentist retired after covid starteded and new dentist changed the course/method and I now need to come up with more money and they have never expected any of my insurance. Not my past employers dental insurance or Medicare; so still stuck in a broken appliance with no pain relief, if anything it's worse now, im having numbness down arm and into fingers... I either need to spend $1600 to get appliance re-made (previous dentist did for free; he made them in house with molds and was covered with my initial cost/payment; new dentist does an expensive laser scan and sends out to third party $1600). Or even Way more expensive to move forward with "THE PLAN" that keeps changing and getting more and more expensive and complicated...wish I never started this process and do not know what to do.

Fantastic experience: Great service and care. Brielle is an amazing hygienist, gentle, efficient, and thorough. I have always felt I was in good hands, including Dr. Deere's visit at the end of my cleaning to confirm things are as they should be.

Fantastic experience: DR. WEST is incredible. The best dentist in colorado. He is an expert at the profession. My favorite part about DR. West is he is a super cool dude! I been going to boulder County Smiles for over a decade. His Son is now a dentist and does great work. Dad is the best, just saying. Great team and wonderful hygienist. Dr. West you're not allowed to retire.

Fantastic experience: I've been a loyal Boulder County Smiles customer since I moved to Boulder in 2018. I've always had a lovely experience; the staff really cares about their patients and takes the time to explain answers to every question asked. I even had the pleasure of being one of the few patients to have a semi-major dentist surgery done in the height of the pandemic in May 2020. Dr. Johns in particular there was so great at keeping me calm in a stressful situation! I highly recommend this location.
