Fantastic experience: My family has been going to Swinney Dental since 1989. They have the best people working there. They are friendly, accomodating and always make us feel like family. Dr. Chip and Dr. Trey have our trust and thanks for taking care of us.

Fantastic experience: I needed to get an emergency extraction done last minute and they were able to get me in very fast and in the same day! It was my first time here and the whole appointment was just under an hour . From the front desk team to having my tooth extracted by Dr. Trey , it was smooth ! I have a phobia with dental offices and this place made me feel comfortable. Definitely recommend this place ! I also brought my baby with me and they were so sweet to her .

Fantastic experience: Doctor Swinney and his staff were able to get me an appointment much faster than I expected. (Less than 24 hrs). Dr. Swinney and his staff are fantastic. My wife and I have been going to him for as long as he’s been in practice and would highly recommend him.

Negative experience: Dr Trey was very unprofessional and was mad that I gave a review on the other clinic on how unprofessional they handled everything. The clinic on 5th street is a joke and I guess just carries on to this clinic as well. They are rude and unprofessional and go through different employees all the time. Steer clear of here and go somewhere else with better care

She was considerate and treated me as a person and not just a number coming in for whatever reason. I have had nothing but good experiences while visiting Swinney Dental from the doctor's, office staff and especially the hygienist. They are out of network for my insurance but go out of their way to help in any way possible. Thumbs up for me! Thank you

Fantastic experience: By far, in my opinion, the best dental care in Tyler. My dental hygienist, Brittany, acts as though I am her only patient. Takes as much time as needed - always keeps conversation going so there is no time to think about teeth; just excellent! And Dr. Chip will make sure he checks on any “watch” areas on a regular basis. Great care & genuine concern for their patients.

Negative experience: I truly like the service and care provided by this dental practice but they absolutely harass you with texts and emails for payment after insurance has paid! I sent a check by return mail the day I received my bill! I continued to be bombarded with requests for payment! This auto sending out of requests for payments is ridiculous!

Fantastic experience: I was delighted with the warm welcome and clean facility. Mostly, however, I loved Dr. Swinney, Sr. and his ability to make my visit relaxing. Often, when you go into any medical office, you get the feeling that they are in it for the money and they will charge you as much as possible. That certainly was not the case here. Dr. Swinney did not try to sell me a bill of goods. In fact, he told me that there was nothing wrong with my teeth. Then he charged me a modest fee for the X-rays and I was released. If you are afraid of dental work, and I am, I highly recommend this practice.

She greets me with a smile every time and it really seems like she's happy to see me. She somehow remembers what we talked about during my last visit (6 months ago). Negative experience: BEWARE!!! They will cancel your appointment at any given time after you have taken off work. They cancelled my appointment on the same day. I feel like I should be compensated! My time is important. All of the receptionist are very RUDE, with bad attitudes, unprofessional and will hang-up on you. They pushed my appointment out from January to the end of MARCH??!? So I am in pain until March?? UNBELIEVABLE!! They discriminate! Especially if you have Delta dental insurance and BLACK! This has happened more than once. Just saying.....VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Fantastic experience: They were able to see me on short notice on a Saturday which was huge. The office staff, assistant, & dentist went above and beyond. If I didn't live over 3 hours away they would definitely be our families dentist.

Negative experience: I had been coming to this dentist for years and now I am HIGHLY disappointed. Dr. Chip did a root canal on one of my back teeth. Mind you I’m self pay so I’m paying full price when everything is said and done. Less than 5 years and they will do it again for a cheaper price which is great considering how expensive they are. Well my crown came off and it couldn’t be saved so he said we need to REDO my root canal AGAIN and it’s been less than 5 years. so this time I would only need to pay $1400 since I have dental insurance this go round. Okay great! Well I was scheduled in dec. And I missed my appointment because my work schedule turned chaos working 13 days straight 12 hour days for 2 months straight. I was exhausted and forgot about my appointment. So when that crazy work schedule was over I called to schedule my appointment and it was set for this next Monday. Well I got a call today and the front office girl told me I would need to pay full price since I missed “several” appointments so I asked her how many appointments did I miss? And she replied “ONE” so I canceled my appointment and then called back to schedule and go ahead and pay the full price I had to make sure I had the money to do it and now he is refusing to see me and fix this root canal that was done less than 5 years ago. I understand I missed my appointment but I have never missed one before that. Things happen and life gets crazy sometimes and it was an honest mistake but here we are now I have to go see another dentist and pay a much more expensive bill for something he did and is refusing to fix even though it was in that time frame.

Fantastic experience: I was in severe pain, with a broken tooth to the point that I couldn't breathe without crying, he came in, saw the tooth and goes oh I'll handle it for you, numbed me up, and took the tooth out flawlessly and painlessly in less than a minute, any extraction I need will be going through these people on principle with that type of service, and it was extremely cheap
