Fantastic experience: I'm impressed that the dental center screened my mouth for cancer. I got a fluoride treatment that tasted Horrible, & left my lips Sticky for the longest time! I don't think I'll have another treatment in 6 Mos.

Fantastic experience: I came in as a walk in for the Dental office and ALL of the staff were fantastic. The dental assistant was amazing and Dr. Glenn did an awesome job on my dental work! Would recommend them to everyone!

Positive experience: Doctor took good care of me and referred me to a Oral Surgeon, he also had me pic up some Amoxicillin for my tooth infection, I took 1 pill and 8 hours later one more, as I was sleeping I broke out with a horrible rash and itchy all over ,, didn't know that l was allergic too the medicine, never was allergic before,

Negative experience: my lip got caught in the drill and cut during a filling when i complained i feel my appointment was cut short due to me complaining of pain on my lip to almost my mid cheek. i was told it was a burn and not a cut, i looked myself and it was a cut. My appointment ended 5 mins after that, literally. now when i eat i have pain where that filling was “placed” i am currently in the process of changing my dentist. this “ allegedly “ happened as of 4/20/2026.

Positive experience: Friendly, staff willing to accommodate needs and any urgency was dealt with on a fast turn around date.

Negative experience: The receptionist with the gray hair who sits on the right side in the dental section is extremely rude and condescending. I have dealt with her a couple times and she’s always rude and short. She had all the time in the world to sit and gossip with the security guard though. 2/18/2026.

Fantastic experience: This place is truly wonderful. It was my first time bringing my daughter here, and we were deeply impressed by the patience and kindness of the entire staff. The dentist and dental assistants were incredibly friendly and caring toward children. Thanks to their gentle and thoughtful approach, my daughter felt completely relaxed during both the X-rays and the cleaning. They even took the time to help us look into orthodontic options. This is a place you can truly trust.

Negative experience: Won't even answer their phones 15 minutes before closing time, doesn't have an answering machine obviously not a real business. ‍♀️

Negative experience: First appt is only if you are willing to be held hostage for an unknown amount of time. Cant schedule 1st appt, have to do walk in and *HOPE* they have time to see you due to a cancellation or no show. Re: you didn't even read the review. Wow, just don't if you aren't gonna.

Fantastic experience: Clean and pleasant atmosphere. The technicians are really nice and make you feel comfortable. I was a walk-in and was seen pretty fast.

Negative experience: Can't rate them, can't even get an appt. and I have lived here 1.5 years, waiting. But, without giving them a 1 star, I couldn't submit anything. ‍♀️

Fantastic experience: I had a great procedure a couple days ago here. I was very impressed with the dentist and treated right! Best of all they take my insurance!!

Negative experience: I have very sensitive teeth and am always told I need fillings even though I have no pain. They have given my daughter so many fillings when her teeth also don’t hurt. Fillings aren’t good and decay in 10yrs. They like to drill into healthy teeth. I don’t think the dentists do this on purpose, I think they aren’t very good at identifying cavities that are of actual concern.

Fantastic experience: Ive been able to get help from the dental center for many years. The people try their best to meet my needs. The facility is always clean and the staff polite.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are lovely and professional. I gather that they actually enjoy helping people. I see Dr. Peck for Chiropractic help and he has some of the best bedside manner that I’ve ever experienced from a Doctor. His assistant Eamon is always great to interact with as well. I am very grateful for this institution. They have helped me so much!

Negative experience: cant schedule here because im always just waiting on the line for 30 minutes with no update for where I am in the que and no hope of my call being answered im convinced nobody works the phone line

Fantastic experience: So far I have always had a good experience here in the redding office. I really liked Dr. Katz who did my check up today, he was so kind and Jennifer (I think) was such a wonderful tech and so friendly, Thank you SHASTA Community Dental.

Negative experience: I have never experienced worse customer service than at the SCHC Dental Enterprise Location. The women at the front desk are awful and have absolutely no concern for kindness or customer service. I have four kids and have to sit in the lobby (which is not a big deal but also NOT kid friendly) to wait for each of them to be seen. My youngest pooped in his diaper and I accidentally left my wipes in the car and they said that I wasn’t *allowed* to leave the building to go get them and had no concern for him sitting in his poop for the TWO HOUR appointment for my daughters one filling. I asked the dental office and the MEDICAL side if they had any wipes and neither did. Which seems extremely odd to me that a medical office would not have any wipes at all. I had to fill out new patient forms for my two youngest to get them started going to the dentist and they had me fill out paper work and then said they couldn’t find my son in their system so they gave me extra paper work. Which is fine except they didn’t tell me that they couldn’t find him because I had his birthday wrong (‍♀️ four kids) mind you, they’re with me in the lobby restless after two hours in a poopy diaper so I’m quite distracted. I fill out all the paperwork and go to turn it in and then she says he’s not in the system and immediately says “it’s probably because his birthday is wrong” and I then ask if I can see if I got it wrong and she rudely obliged. It was then she told me the papers filled out were unnecessary so I asked if it was necessary for me to change his birthday on them since they were unnecessary. To which she replied, as if I was an imbecile, that I do in fact need to change his birthday from the 21st to the 20th on all of the “unnecessary” paperwork. So I change it and then when I go to schedule them they have to book my 2 and 3 year olds on separate days because I have to go in with each of them and they said I cannot have my Thirteen year olds sit in the lobby with one while I go in with the other because there has to be an adult present when they’re in the lobby. Which is WILDLY confusing to me because when my older daughters both turned 12 they (SCHC) told me they are NO LONGER ALLOWED to give me their medical records because they were considered adults and I would need to bring my 12 year olds in with me to have them give me consent to receive their medical information. (I have yet to meet a 12 year old with a legal ID so riddle me that one) Anyway I digress … so then I make an appointment on two different days and now have to find childcare on both days in order to get them each in to be seen. By the end of all of this (and after watching MANY people come and go - happy as they walked in and angry as they are greeted by these women - having spent a total of 5 hours in this office in the last 3 days) I asked if I could move all of my appointments to the Shasta Lake location and finally just told the lady that she is awful at customer service all to have her say they have no openings for forever obviously not true. I asked if they were closing and she said no. Anyway, not exactly sure how to go about reporting these women but BOTH of them are so rude and careless to every person I’ve seen come through. They’re unhelpful, unsympathetic and they do not like their jobs. I highly recommend going to the SLC location and waiting for their availability to open up (as I’m sure it will) because it is NOT worth it to go here and spend hours of your time miserable with these awful people. Note: one thing I do want to mention is that the dentists themselves and the dental assistants were very kind, helpful and professional to my daughter but the ladies at the front desk RUIN it for everyone.

Negative experience: Currently on hold for the 4th time in 2 days. I wait 35min and usually my kids need me so I have to hang up. I've never been seen here but it's my only option and I can't get through. 35min is really long when your in pain.

Negative experience: No one ever answers the phone. My wife has called 4 times within the last 2 weeks and has been on hold for AT LEAST 45 minutes each time. If you cannot get to someone within 5 minutes your system is BROKE and whoever is in charge completely inept and/or does not care about customer service. Take out the trash.

Negative experience: Doesn’t answer the phone! Not a single Shasta community location answers the phone! Ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: My 5 year old had his first dentist appt today and it was such a great experience. The hygienist was AMAZING with my son. I can’t say enough good things. The Dr was thorough and my son left with a sticker and a toy from the toy box. Highly recommend!!

Negative experience: Not a great experience. Usually with one visit gone wrong, we understand things happen. But multiple visits?!? Booked us to bring one of our kids in and on appointment date they told us they can’t do what they said they would do. Then another appointment they booked to do procedure with another one of our kids, they did not have what they needed, so couldn’t get procedure done. We are done with this place and will go somewhere else even if we have to pay more.

Negative experience: I had a good experience with the dentist. There was a big issue that made me not want to come back. The dental hygienist was extremely rude. I’m not sure if she had a bad day or what. I noticed attitude from her as soon as I started asking questions. The biggest thing that happened was when I was asking her questions on consultations for braces because when I used to go to western dental they would do it for free. She turned around quickly raised her voice and said, “WE DONT DO THAT HERE.” Lemme tell you it took a lot of patience from me to just keep quiet including sense my 10 month old was there. If that would have happened to anyone else, it probably wouldn’t have ended so good. This was my first time here, and I expected high hopes from this place considering Western dental was my dental place sense I first got my teeth. So it was disappointing being so mistreated just for asking questions. She did start acting a little nicer once the dentist came in and she agreed to clean my teeth, which was good until I got home and I noticed it wasn’t all the way cleaned on the back of my teeth. I hope my next appointment is better.

Negative experience: Horrible. Been trying to get an appointment for over 6 months. Finally got one and I get there, they reschedule me as soon as I got there. Got my appointment for this Friday the 19th I. Shasta Lake and they called me to tell me they need to move me to the Redding location and 15 mins after that called to cancel and reschedule AGAIN. Absolutely ridiculous

Fantastic experience: I had to cancel my appointment at the last minute but when I called they were very friendly and professional and rescheduled my appointment right away. We had some trouble getting scheduled to begin with so I am very happy that they were able to reschedule me so quickly. They are also seeing both my kids and I am very satisfied with the care.

Positive experience: When you actually get seen and get treated they are great. Trying to get through on the phone is a nightmare, not their fault per se I understand the volume of calls and other people in the waiting room. Personnel can probably increase but there are nice so thank you. I could only get a walk in so that’s just difficult. 4 year waitlist to establish as primary dentist but again probably not their fault. Seems like redding has a terrible reputation for dentist in general and the overwhelming amount of people trying to get in ( thanks medi-cal). 4 stars for courteous and treatment. 1 star for just trying to operate in a crazy system, which is understandable. But great place overall.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff was friendly, my almost 7 yr old was getting his dental check up and cleaning, the ladies made it fun for him. Made him feel very comfortable and relaxed. The Dr came in and answered any questions I needed answered and told me to not hesitate to call right away if there are any problems. Glad to say no cavities!!!

Negative experience: They defer all my appointment requests to hope van against my wishes as if to avoid as much work as possible. I know many people this is done to 100% of the time.

Fantastic experience: Amazing front desk and staff! Clean lobby and friendly service! The only complaint is the long wait on phones and scheduling issues, but I believe they are working on that!! For being one of the few providers that assists partnership and low-income, they are doing fantastic!! Great job SCHC staff!!

Fantastic experience: The staff was very kind, caring, and empathetic. The dentist was great at explaining every detail. He did a thorough exam and was very knowledgeable in explaining the diagnosis. The dentist also made sure to give me the opportunity to ask questions. He offered advice and encouraged me to return if needed. One of the best dental experiences I’ve had.

Positive experience: They never answer the phone, I called every day for a week and left a voicemail every time to never hear back. I had to physically go inside just to schedule an appointment. The people at the appointment were nice. They don’t really do anything for kids there though. They can clean their teeth but that’s it if your child needs work done or even just a cavity filled they can’t do it there and you have to be referred. They referred me all the way to Stockton when there’s places closer that take my insurance. Overall I’d suggest you just go somewhere else. I only rated them this high because the assistant that helped us was very nice.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful! The waiting list is super long BUT as a walk in it is worth the wait! I was able to at least get one broken wisdom pulled. My second hasn't yet but it is still faster than trying to get seen at western dental where they cancel and overbooked and move you and drop you left and right. The dentist was also kind, understanding and knew what he was doing!

Fantastic experience: I get my dental health issues at Shasta Community Dental; most of the time Dr Christy take care of me she is very compassionate and understand my dental needs.

Positive experience: Front desk people were awesome. Friendly, helpful, and understanding. The dental tech that took me back did not put me at ease or have any bedside manners. She paid more attention to my partner who is a nurse than me and my infected wisdom teeth. I would still recommend but bring a friend.

Positive experience: The service with the professionals was really good and fast. However I would recommend to double check the times with them before the appointment. We arrive for the appointment and the building was close. A guard from the next building was kind to let us know that it seems the 3rd monday of the month they changed their working hours. We had to stand in the cold, with my 18 m old unnecessary if they would have just tried to contact us and keeps us inform.

Positive experience: They don't call you back when you leave a message and don't answer the phone when you are waiting for them to pick up. I've been trying to get an appointment for my daughter here for a few months, but I work and have a busy life. Please get more people to answer phones. Or change the way your company does appointment scheduling, allowing us to book appointments for our kids every 6 months without having to wait until the 5th month to call, and maybe it wouldn't be 9 months since my daughter last saw a dentist.

Negative experience: Absolutely redicuilous been waiting a year to get my 5 year old daughter in and all they do is x-ray again and tell me to schedule an appointment and tell me the same thing they have been for a year that they aren't scheduling appointments my daughter's mouth hurts she should have to deal with this if I could give 0 stars I would

Positive experience: I went here as a walk-in and it was still faster than a certain other place in town. They were fast, didn't leave me waiting after the shots and were very gentle! They might be short staffed because they rarely answer or return calls.

Negative experience: The Dental staff and office staff are great. They are skilled, professional and very kind. As an adult, don’t expect to actually receive any dental care from SCH. In the time it takes to receive dental care (in my case 2 and a half years on a wait list for an appointment) a small cavity has turned into a needed root canal, and I still don’t have an appointment. In hindsight, it would have taken me a quarter of the time to save up the money needed for this procedure and pay out of pocket. I didn’t realize that my tooth had decayed into such a bad state until I started experiencing extreme pain. It took me two days of waiting in the lobby to be seen as a “walk in”.

Positive experience: This is about the only dental facility in Shasta County that accepts Medi Cal and they have a 2 year wait list for new patients. Despite that, when I called them they encouraged me to show up as a walk in. After a bit of a wait they saw me. Everyone was professional and took care of my issue. Will return if another issue arises.

Negative experience: Wont make an appointment s even for existing paitents. Where are we suppose to go? Out of town for dental? Our community needs more dentist.

Fantastic experience: I am so fortunate that Shasta community health dental center was able to help me last week as a walk in to take care of a a tooth that a crown had been broken off several months ago and became abscessed. I was in a lot of pain had made several attempts to fine a dental office accepting new patients. Everyone involved in working on my tooth were so pleasant and professional I couldn't find any other dental office that could have assisted me better and as quickly. I am so thankfully happy with Shasta Community Health Dental Center!

Positive experience: The lady who is taking temperature in the front is not welcoming at all. I understand that mask is required even if you are fully vaccinated, never forget to bring mask she won't let you in even with appointment and won't offer a mask provided by Shasta Dental on her table to give away to patients that needs it at the moment because according to her "they would not want people to get used to get a free mask." Receptionists and other staff's are very helpful and considerate. Overall it's a good visit.
