Fantastic experience: I was a difficult case because of a bad bite and bad teeth. Dr. Clay expertly engineered a plan for saving most of my teeth and replacing the rest with implants. He took his time and was very careful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I recently came back to the area and had a tooth emergency and they brought me in right away and took care of the issue. Their care for their patients is unparalleled by other doctors.

I started going there as a teen into my twenties and had to stop for several years because of my insurance. I had to look for another dentist and let me tell you; the difference was night and day. That one experience let me know that Dr. Clay and his staff are the only ones I trust with my oral health! Other dentists are nice, sure, and the office seems pretty legit, but there is a lack of honest and quality care in other places. My dental anxiety makes visits hard but Dr. Clay and his team (s/o to Jasmine & Ellen!!) are so supportive and personable. You guys are the real MVPs!

Fantastic experience: I have always had a difficult time finding a dentist since I had a bad experience with one in my 20’s. But this office is absolutely amazing!!! They are all so very kind and caring. They explain everything to you so you don’t have to worry about what to expect. Love that about this practice!! I hadn’t been to the dentist in 2yrs because life has been busy, and then, of course, I chipped a tooth on a Sunday night. I was not in any pain but I work at a medical practice at the front desk and worried that it may fracture more. I was completely devastated and as soon as Monday hit I called. I had to leave a message (staff training day) but the next day I called again before they could return my call. They were able to fit me into the schedule within a week (so thankful)! When I was checking out to schedule the repair appointment, the assistant, Jasmine, came out and said Dr. Clay could repair it today if I wanted to wait. I said YES!! It didn’t take that long to repair and I am so glad I didn’t have to come back another day. So of course before leaving I got back on the schedule for routine cleanings. Thank you so very much for all you do!!

Stacey, the dental hygienist, was amazing with him—so kind, patient, and playful. She turned the whole visit into a fun adventure, which made my son feel completely at ease. Dr. Barclay was equally wonderful—warm, attentive, and thorough. He even took the time to answer my son’s curious little questions, which made him feel important and heard. Negative experience: Everyone was very professional, but this place does not fit my risk, price, and ethical appetite. I came for an exam in January and was told I have 2 cavities to be filled. Not much other information was provided. When it came to scheduling the follow up appointment, there was a wait time of 3 months which has surprised me to say the least (never in my entire life did I wait more than 2 weeks to fill a cavity; and all my Google search was saying that cavities should be taken care of asap). The following 2 months I was anxious and stressed about the wait time and wondering how much more decay could occur before I come in for the filling. About a month before my scheduled appointment, I called to reschedule as a work travel came up. The first available appointment was 3 months out! Clearly this place is in very high demand if I have to wait half a year to fix a cavity. So at that point I concluded that the best thing is to find a different dentist who can take me in asap and fix those cavities. ECFCD sent my January X-rays to the new dentist , and to my pleasant surprise, the new dentist did not recommend any filling. They couldn’t even find anything on the X-ray and upon an oral exam, they concluded there is one spot (not 2) forming in my enamel, but it’s reversible as it’s still in the enamel layer, and therefore recommended to watch it and gave me a prescription toothpaste with higher dose of fluoride. I very much appreciated the candid discussion with the new dentist who put my dental health before his profits. It’s also funny how the ECFCD told me that they will need to numb my mouth for the filling, even though it was only in the enamel. I feel mislead and misinformed and believe they push unnecessary procedures on the patients. Also, this place is so expensive !! $50+ for a fluoride treatment!! If I knew it’s not covered by my insurance I would not have agreed to it. That’s on me as I was not aware of the plan benefits, but the price is outrageous (other dentists charge half the price). I wish that ECFCD would have been more transparent about the urgency and seriousness of my cavities ( or really a lack of). If my work travel did not come up, I would now have 2 additional unnecessary fillings in my mouth. Perhaps they will turn into cavities in time, and perhaps not. But the point is that I want to be informed about my options and make a best decision for myself.

Negative experience: I gave them 5 stars since I started going to them over two years ago until today. I am 71 years old next month and have had only 1 cavity but have had periodontal and plaque issues since my teens. The hygienist was awesome and very caring but I decided against the suggested addition xrays. I am sorry that a dentist won't continue doing the same periodontal cleaning. It has nothing to do with the money as I have no problem with deep cleaning. Just curious as I have had the same GP for years and his position has always been this is what I recommend but bottom line is it is your decision. What happened to the same options with dentist? Ultimatums are not the answer!

Stacey (Dental Hygienist) is great with her patients making sure that the patient is comfortable during treatment and makes sure the patient is well informed on how to continue a healthy dental journey. Dr. Molly and Dr. Klay also have been great with letting me know my treatment plan and options to ensure a healthy dental experience

Fantastic experience: I had a really nice first experience from beginning to end. All of the staff was pleasant and kind. They were flexible with accommodating a cleaning same-day when that was not part of the original scheduled appointment. The hygienist made sure to apply topical anesthetic so that my cleaning would be as comfortable as possible since I have a few sensitive areas. The experience did not feel rushed. All of my concerns were addressed thoroughly by all staff members. I was anxious to visit the dentist after a few years away from one, but after my experience today I already have my next appointment booked.

Negative experience: My family and I have been coming to this office for a few years and it has been amazing. Recently the scheduling staff has been providing inaccurate information when scheduling appointments. I highly recommend getting the appointment card after scheduling your appointment.

Fantastic experience: Excellent! This was my first visit, and the staff and Dr were great. They took the time to explain every procedure before starting it. They were patient, and listened to my questions. The check in staff was very friendly, and after I waited for a little while, they let me know that someone would be with me soon.

Fantastic experience: I have a relatively uncommon problem of my jaw easily dislocating when I yawn too widely or have an extensive dental procedure such as a crown. Dr.Molly and Courtney adapted the process significantly in an effort to reduce the likelihood of this occurring. As a result, I felt much more comfortable and had a greater peace of mind as they successfully completed the procedure today.

Fantastic experience: I went to them today for the first time and it was the best experience I've had at a dental office. Stacey examined, took pics/xrays of and cleaned my teeth. She explained everything she did and answered every question I had. I felt like I was in there forever because she was actually taking her time with me. Most offices try to hurry and get you out. If she didn't know an answer to one of my questions, she went to find out.

Negative experience: Doesn’t take Tricare (United Concordia) although I was told on the phone MONTHS ago that they do. Very disappointing and now I have to wait even longer for a cleaning.

Negative experience: I was inconvenienced with having to pay out of pocket for my appointment. This is after Eastern Virginia Family & Cosmetic Dentistry verbally confirmed to me over the phone that their office did in fact take my specific insurance. They asked me several questions before setting my appointment such as if my insurance was provided by an employer or if we paid for this individually. I was also asked for my member id number to confirm whether or not they did in fact take my insurance. I wish there was better communication and clarity about my appointment before I came in. After I was seen in their office and taken to the desk to schedule my next appointment, I was completely blindsided with a bill for their services. I am completely disappointed with my experience here.

Negative experience: I do not recommend this office. I went in for an evaluation for a tooth infection and expressed to Dr. K I was already on amoxicillin and it did not fully take the infection away and instead of prescribing another antibiotic she prescribed amoxicillin again, then the practice refused to prescribe anything stronger and proceed to tell me to go back to the endo. Why? If I saw your office prior to seeing the endo? Then they wonder why patients resist seeing dentists. Will not return.

Fantastic experience: Great experience from 'go'. Initial paperwork is available electronically, so you can have that out of the way. Every individual I interacted with was polite, professional, and friendly! Bedside manner was phenomenal and again, professional. Great senses of humor with the ladies that were taking care of me. It was easy to tell they enjoyed their work, and they were extremely competent performing at it. That should never be taken for granted!

Hermon, the DT, was very patient and attentive while ensuring that my son was very comfortable during the cleaning process. He and the Dentist explained everything clearly and answered all of my concerns.

I'd like to give him a shot out because he met me with a handsome and welcoming smile. Throughout my visit he explained everything and educated me in a clear and genuinely caring way. We have all had great experiences with this practice and will continue to return because I know their new young staff is just as awesome as their veteran staff!

Negative experience: I really dislike giving negative reviews, however after my recent experience with Eastern Virginia Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, I feel that I must. Five days ago I kept an appointment with them to have a crown that was put on a tooth by them 'adjusted'. It turned out that I ended up receiving a filling in a tooth that I didn't know needed a filling and I that was completely unaware that I was to receive...by a dentist who up until that time, I had never met or spoken to AND who seemed to be 'learning' about my dental history as she started 'working' on me. Sort of learn as you go? My appointment was to be for a crown adjustment and I finally had to ask as my dentist who was working in my mouth at the time what we understood what I was actually there for. Too late. the tooth was already being 'drilled' for the filling so now I have a filling that I had no idea that I needed. Oh, and never mind that it took two attempts to numb the area that now five days later is still partially numb (possible nerve damage?) and that now I am experiencing a ...strange mild ache with the newly filled tooth that up until it was filled gave me NO problem at all. No, I never saw a picture or an X-ray of the tooth to show me the affected area. Just in too much of a hurry to bother or be inconvenienced with that, I suppose. All in all, I feel as though I was treated in an extremely unprofessional manner by a dentist who seemed to be far more concerned with getting the 'job' done than she was with her patient. This was by far the worst experience that I ever had with a dentist or dental office. In fact it was the only bad and/or unprofessional experience that I ever had with any dentist in the past. Interesting ...or curious to note is why this dentistry is discontinuing their relationship with Delta Dental, by far the largest dental plan provider. ...and why did the dentist who had installed my crown leave just prior to my recent appointment? Obviously I will NOT be returning there nor would I ever recommend the Eastern Virginia Family & Cosmetic Dentistry to ANY of my clients.

Positive experience: First time being seen and my experience was great and everyone I had encounters with were very pleasant. My only dislike is that you have to make an separate appointment to get a cleaning etc if it's your first time there I don't know if it was just my visit or if this is their routine

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have been patients for 37 years+ and can attest to the superb quality of professional care given by the doctors, dental hygienists and staff throughout all these years. Morgan has kept my teeth sparkling and wonderful during these years with cleanings and preventive work that is skillful, thorough and detailed . She is highly knowledgeable and experienced. Kathy and all the staff welcome patients with warm, friendly smiles and greetings. Everyone is a top notch professional. The office itself is immaculate as well as bright and cheerful. I'm thankful that when my husband and I moved here to Chuchland all those years ago that it was Dr. Weisberg's office we first discovered. Fantastic experience: As always, I was very pleased with the professionalism and hospitality of the staff. I may, however, start wearing a heating pad under my shirt to help me stay warm during my visits.

Fantastic experience: My son ran into a parked car while he was playing ball, and ended up breaking 3/4 of his front tooth off and the root was exposed. Because my son was in pain, Dr Clay offered to help him no matter what time it was! He met us at the office after 10pm. I can never thank him and his assistant enough for not only helping his pain but comforting him as well! I am so thankful for their selflessness and willing to help us out even though it was late and after hours. I recommend this practice to everyone because they genuinely care!
