They have a very high standard for quality, professional work. Today i was fitted for an implant crown. I was impressed that Dr. Johnson is one of less than a dozen dentists in Erie who uses the most advanced imaging technology available for doing highly accurate impressions (and no gooey mess!). I've never been disappointed with the care and service, and friendliness of all who work in this practice.

The dental hygienists are wonderful and helped me to sensitivity and pain to a minimum and keep it that way. I would recommend this practice to everyone.

Fantastic experience: The staff in this office are unbelievably kind and go out of their way to make you comfortable. The dental chairs have heat and massage! They're using state of the art technology which makes their services a little pricier than my last dentist but worth every penny to me. I had pulled two old silver fillings out with a milk dud candy! I was scheduled to come back within a week. They make the crowns right in the office so I was there for about two hours start to finish. I walked out with all my work done and two new crowns in my mouth. Great job! Very very happy with the dentist, the work they all did, and the end product. I highly recommend this office

Fantastic experience: I was having an issue with one of my teeth and when I called the office to make an appointment they told me they had an opening the next day. Dr Johnson assessed the situation quickly and not only fixed the issue but gave me a referral for further treatment. Her assistant is always friendly as is the office staff. They always make you feel welcome and comfortable. My insurance unfortunately is not accepted at the office but I still choose to be a patient because of the quality of care and warm welcome that's always given.

Fantastic experience: I've had fantastic experiences with Dr. Johnson and the entire staff here at Family Dental Care PC so far. Everyone is very friendly, Dr. Johnson and her dental assistant are obviously very knowledgeable and very good at their jobs. The office is welcoming, and their tools & techniques are very modern - highlight the 3D scanning, computer-aided design, and in-office milling/curing of crowns. They do efficient, top quality work with friendly attitudes. I'm so glad I've found my dentist here. Update: After 6 years I can’t sing enough praise about Dr. Johnson and her entire staff! I keep bringing her challenges like replacing failed crowns (from a prior dentist) and she keeps my teeth as healthy as can be. I hope she’s still practicing as long as I need teeth!

Fantastic experience: Everyone is professional, friendly, and competent in what they do. The dentist is experienced and keeps up with new methods and equipment. The office manager is able to answer any questions about your insurance or method of payment. If she doesn't have an immediate answer, she will contact the company while you wait or get back to you in a short time. The hygienists are experienced and through in delivery of their special services.

Fantastic experience: I was able to get an appointment the next day after calling about a chipped tooth. Dr. Johnson and her assistant are caring, friendly and explain everything. She checked in with me multiple times during the procedure to see if I was feeling any pain or just needed a comfort break. I highly recommend this dental practice.

Negative experience: I had high hopes for this dentist because of recommendations I received. The entire office smells like a dirty litter box. Unfortunately at my cleaning appointment, zero concern was shown for a potential re-infection of a root canal. It wasn’t for lack of effort on my part. I called the office twice and requested the cotton packing be replaced at my cleaning. I even used the service provided on the website. Three hours later I was left with a VM telling me I was fine and I used the service for the wrong reason. Even though some of the symptoms listed in the VM I was experiencing. I would hope a provider would want to leave a better impression with a new patient. Don’t or services if you don’t want people to use them. My previous dentist would have worked with me because I needed to push the crown back a couple weeks due to finances. They would have recognized that infection prevention is top priority. They never would have acted as if my concerns about a potential reinfection wasn’t their problem. The dentist never would have expected me to drive back to Pittsburgh for a simple task of changing packing, especially if they themselves were more than capable of doing it. I never would have gotten bounced back and forth between offices. Cotton should never be left as packing material anywhere in or on the body for more than a day or two, including teeth. Any competent medical professional would tell you that. If someone presented at a doctor’s office with a wound that’s been packed, has been sitting in one of the dirtiest places of the body for days, it would be addressed. A competent provider would want to correct the problem for their patient because they understand the importance of infection control. Their license obligates them to do what’s in the best interest of their patient at the time, regardless of circumstance. ALWAYS. This is best practice. A concerned provider would have changed the packing even if they didn’t place it. They wouldn’t bounce a patient back and forth between offices. Best practice is addressing concerns and taking action. Appropriate concern for a reinfection is working with your patient, listening and taking their concerns seriously, and taking action. The fact that I needed to push the crown back 2 weeks, should have made replacing the packing even more urgent because again… Infection! At the end of my cleaning at this dentist office, I asked if the dentist was available. I was told she was seeing her own patients. *I was the only patient left in the office.* I’ve never not seen the Dentist at the end of any Dentist appointment. Even if it was only a cleaning. Even if there weren’t any caries. Every Dentist I’ve been to comes in to double check for themselves and to see if there are any issues. Maybe the old standard of care was to show more concern for their patients and maybe because a second set of eyes never hurts. They’ve certainly never thrown their staff at issues the Dentist should have addressed or been so careless about potential infections. Speaking with me face to face is the very least the dentist could have been done. Having a conversation with a new patient was the very least the dentist could have done. Actually laying eyes on the tooth I’m concerned about is the very least the dentist could have done. These things never happened. Having things explained to me? If by explaining, you mean being scoffed at and getting attitude from your front desk, at my request, then yes things were “explained” to me. I did contact the endodontist, which you said to do, they said I was probably having a flair up of the root canal and prescribed Clindamycin. I told this to your front desk the first time I called your office. Infection control and prevention are a HUGE priority and is absolutely a reason to use the website service. Maybe list the very specific reasons you deem appropriate use, so future patients don’t “misuse,” it and interrupt your day. Don’t provide a service if you have no intention of people using it.

Fantastic experience: This visit was the best experience I have ever had with a dentist. I have horrible anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, understanding and thorough. I have always had certain issues with staining and sensitivity in my teeth, and I was given much education on all matters to help alleviate pain, help with sensitivity and overall oral health. No other dentist I have seen has ever been as thorough or explanatory. They are also really kind and great with kids.

Fantastic experience: After moving, I needed to find a new dentist. I am very pleased that I chose Family Dental Care. I was able to have my initial visit in a reasonable time, followed by a cleaning just 2 days later (thanks to a cancellation). Everyone, from the front desk, to the assistants, hygienist, and Dr. Johnson, are very personable, friendly, and skilled. The Dr is very knowledgeable. She identified a difficult problem and referred me to an endodontist who has the specialization needed to fix it. To me, that's even more evidence of her being a good dentist. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency issue with a molar that's a bit of a tough case, My dentist in North East for over 8 years couldn't even get me in for an emergency. Then they didn't call me back after I left a message. I did an online search and found Dr. Johnson at Family Dental care They took me in the same day as a new patient, They are committed to making you feel comfortable at every step. Every person I have dealt with has been pleasant and professional. I have a long go ahead of me with this molar, but I think the dentist is on top of it. The office is a little dated but cozy. They have up-to-date equipment, so I'm not worried. I'm more interested in the quality of work and how pain-free they perform. Big test next week with bout 10 minutes of drilling on an extremely sensitive molar. I trust Dr. Johnson as my new dentist, but we'll see how it goes.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit and it was amazing! I can’t say enough about the staff and Dr. Johnson herself. Definitely has the patients best interest in mind.
