Negative experience: Don’t ever bring your child here . If you do be prepared to wait an hour after your initial appointment to be seen. They overbook children to the point where it’s ridiculous. I have been coming here for years and nothing I mean absolutely nothing has changed. Today I came to prove that nothing in the city of Paterson has changed.
Negative experience: Literally WORST orthodontist office I have ever step foot into. The manager Omayra Lopez has 0 skills to manage office. She is extremely rude. I wonder who the hell her manager is. Because someone has to be above her rude self centered attitude. The orthodontist himself is scared of her. He is not capable of making a decision based on the best care for the patient. Because she is in his face telling him to dismiss patients. Simply disgusting.

Negative experience: Over crowded and if you have a child with special needs they arent the ones to care of you the waiting time is horrible and even the when i saw the Dr she just wanted to quickly just to tell you yes he needs braces theres no privacy diagnoses was provided were every one is seated getting their follow up for braces . such a long waiting to have a 1 min consultation quickly rushed you out. I had to ask for more questions because I knew what I was coming for shes like I need to see xrays knowing I come from smile dental passaic meaning how is it a consultation without looking at trays from passaic. They are an affiliated practice theres no excuses for their lack of communication and diagnoses just by opening your mouth once I asked she goes to say yes that procedure will be done after bracelets I need another visit for xrays. After I already told her he already had xrays and gives me a piece of paper to book appt. Terrible terrible

I dont if is under management or what, but today a dentist extracted the wrong tooth on my daughter mouth without anesthesia. I brought in to extract a loose tooth but the dentist pull out the wrong tooth tooth that wasnt even loose. My poor daughter was screaming like crazy. Shes only 7 years old. Because of this im switching dentist

Positive experience: First of all the staff is friendly, I’ve been bringing my son here for his braces for months now and I haven’t had an issue with any of the ladies at the front desk. My issue is with the actual Orthodontist, first of all, there’s only one orthodontist for a bunch of kids, second of all she always arrives late, for example if they tell you that she’s going to be there at a certain time she never arrives at that time, and when she does get there she doesn’t even greet the patients or the parents that are already on the hair waiting to be seen by her. She also takes long to prepare to start checking her first patient on top of her being late already. To be honest she’s the one that be holding us back because after the assistants check the kids and do whatever they have to do to prepare them for the actual doctor to see them, we just wait for her to get there and honestly is frustrating because like I said, first of all it’s just 1 doctor and 2, she’s always late! I only bring my son here because my son’s main dentist is at the Smile Central in Passaic, so this location is part of their branch ♀️. I like the one in Passaic better tbh, but they don’t have orthodontics there sadly.

Negative experience: never have i ever had a smooth experience coming here, its always something, always have you waiting two hours just to get in for like 10 minutes, doctor always rushing to get rid of you, the front desk always has an attitude with me, but I noticed they were super friendly and chatty with the Hispanic customers. they’d make small talk, smile, and get them seen way faster, even if those people came in after me. It was hard not to feel like I was being treated differently. And when I finally get called in, the doctor rushes through everything, and made the whole visit feel like i was just another number and honestly just felt like they didn’t care about me or my time, i keep giving it a try and putting up with it but i am genuinely so tired of this treatment.

They made sure the visit was very convenient and were mindful of my time. We were in and out within an hour for a routine checkup and cavity filled. Great job staff!
Negative experience: Let me start by saying that I’ve practically been to this specific dentist multiple times. The staff is genuinely kind and takes better care of situations where a child might be crying or scared, but sometimes, there are rude staff members with whom I have to interact, even when I was a kid. For example, one of the doctors was very condescending. They could’ve told me what they meant more nicely as I was explaining my situation to them instead of making it into a joke, but the kind of joke that makes you seem stupid in front of everyone. They continued to harshly state my problem, which I’ve already been aware of for YEARS ever since I got my braces. I understand it’s your job to tell me how it is, but it didn't feel as if they care about me as a patient and “customer”. I hadn’t done anything to them, I was quiet, and answered all their questions. I felt embarrassed but laughed at the joke anyway and walked out of the office upset. Reception is also rude, and they often overbook a single day, making you have to wait for appointments months from then. Other than that I have no other complaints, the dentistry is clean and organized, and they get you in pretty quickly to say the least. I just wish they weren’t so rude.

Negative experience: The doctors are nice, however the receptionist need attitude adjustments. Also stop overbooking, there’s no reason I have an appointment at 9am and don’t even get the back til 10:30 and still sit in the back for at least 15min as they walk by laughing, and joking. If you can overlook the overbooking and attitudes from the receptionist it’s not a bad experience.
Fantastic experience: I decided to come to this dentist after having a horrible experience at Bright Star Sapphire Dental in Fairlawn who just cares about $$. They allowed my daughter to walk around with an infection for months and kept trying to push an oral surgery she does not need! I came here she got all the care she needed was prescribed anti-biotics right away and is fixing her teeth with no surgery. The dentist listened to my concerns and was very gentle with my 4yr old. The wait can be long so make sure you have your mornings cleared & make plans for parking!

Negative experience: the worst office. I have 3 children and it is always a problem to get an appoiment, when they give you the appoiment if they are very busy on the day of your appoiment they tell you that you are not in the system. It is disrespectful to play with other people's time.
Negative experience: Have to wait at least 1 hour from the appointment time to see a doctor, this happened multiple times. Doctors and treatment is good.
Positive experience: Great office, wait time is ok. staff is always professional. My grandsons actually enjoy their dental visits. Only con is they never have tokens for the children, who really look forward to using the toy machines. For some children this is the only time they get prizes from those type of machines. Get more tokens or get a treasure box for the children to pick prizes from..
Thanks for the review Veronica! We are glad your grandson loves our Treasure Tower machines like most of our patients. When we run out of tokens the front desk usually gives out quarters. Hopefully, this does not happen again but if it does just stop by the front desk they'll be happy to help.

Negative experience: I went to the dentist and the girl at the receptionist was very rude. Someone called us and told us we had an appointment today and when we went they said we didn’t. I just was telling them that we had our appointment six months ago and we scheduled it for today and the girl decides to get annoyed at me and tell me to provide information on the appointment. I didn’t even say anything like we did I was just telling her that we came six months ago and that’s it. She was very rude and we will not be going there anytime soon. She needs to learn how to interact with people because that was not the correct way. NEVER GOING HERE!!

Negative experience: At the 4th floor/ kids area. Don’t go there they have a horrible customer service and the receptionist's who is the face of the business, she doesn’t care about anything. I went to an appointment with my son for the 6 months check up routine. First, I called many times to change my appointment for a hour later and the lady denied to do so . I took a day off for work to take my son there , paid a lot of money for a parking lot just to waisted my time. I wrote my son name on the list the minute I came through the door and I see people who came after me going in . So , after hours of waiting, waiting and waiting I stand up and asked the lady why they don’t call my son and she started arguing with me that I never wrote his name… I took the list, showed her that my son name was in the list. I got so mad that I couldn’t stay there looking at their face one more minute. Those ladies hate their jobs, they don’t have people skills and they don’t care about the patients, they mistreating Paterson’s people like we are worst nothing. You seat there in the waiting room and they don’t even look to see who they didn’t call for Hours and hours ..ridiculous. You were recommended by my dentist and I will make sure that he doesn’t recommended anybody else to you because the service is horrible and you guys play with people time and money. I called to talk to a manager and nobody bother to called me back so here is my complaints. Thank you google for letting me expressed my terrible experiences at this place.

Positive experience: I love the Doctors there. I feel like the front desk need to be little more friendly. I also made 4:00 appointments bt when my confirmation was sent it said for 4:30 so with that being said I arrived at 4:30 and I confirmed it. I was told once I got there that you have to go by the time on top and not bottom time. I never had encounter with the scheduling before. I was very upset because I got there at 4:30 and didn’t get called in until 5:30. The front desk didn’t make me aware . I had to keep asking when will we be next. I’m saying to say front desk need to be more friendly and should let the time be known. After all of that the doctor was awesome like always. I would still refer them.

Negative experience: Made an appointment for an extraction with a referral form for exactly that set for 10:30am due to poor building construction the elevator is a shoebox got upstairs at 10:29am they took insurance, id, and referral form that clearly states extraction but apparently the girl who took the appointment put it in as a cleaning and they got mad at me ..I don't work there and clearly stated it was for an extraction per referral form!... Then they have you wait as you watch ppl who came after you go before you. If the referral form didn't specifically circle them I would not have come here n will never return if I can help it. Reception is the face of a business!. The examination was fruitless and what I feared must, a wasted trip, they took an xray told me what I already knew but the difference was they can't do the work but want me to come back after I see someone who can..... Not likely going to happen. I left with a referral that took longer than the exam to get!

Positive experience: The doctor's are professionals. Thats why i gave 3 starts instead of 1. the staff is ok, couldbe better. Rudeness is so obvious. Majority of the girls that work there have extremely long nails and lashes. Makes it a bit questionable how clean this place is. Do they look pretty? yes. But long nails are a breading ground for bacteria. Not a good look for any medical facility. This time the wait time was better usually it takes them a long time to call patients in.
Negative experience: they put everyone to the same time terrible service.
Corina, we can guarantee this is not the case. Although it does appear that way sometimes. Any given day we have at least three hygienists and two doctors working at the same time. Some days as many as five doctors. This means we do schedule 7 patients for each one individually but not for the same doctor/hygienist. We are sorry to hear the wait times were longer than anticipated and will continue to work on them.

Positive experience: Great customer service upfront, hygienist was great with both my children. I do suggest the doctor introduces himself when walking in the room. The doctor just came in did not introduce himself to myself or my children, just checked their teeth gave notes to the hygienist and walked out. I thought it was very unprofessional. You should be able to develop a relationship with your patients.

It is disappointing that this happened specially since it is a part of our protocol to have our doctors introduce themselves at minimum. Negative experience: This place is so hard to get a hold of. No one answers the phone, been calling for almost 2 hours and absolutely nothing. Just terrible. Reading reviews I am not the only one. If this doesn’t tell the owners to change something idk what will. Get better receptionist, a better phone service or something. Even when it saids to leave a message you can’t cause the mailbox is full. Which makes sense cause no one answers the phone so you resort to leaving a message which again is full! Do better!

Negative experience: They list themselves on insurance company but when you show up they say they do not support the insurance. Creative way of scamming people. Edit on 10/12 after their response: Although that may be the case, when I am making appointment with you; I have been asked my insurance information and as a rule of thumb you should have verified whether you participate in their insurance system or not. As a patient I have no responsibility (or fault) regarding the relationship between you two. I am sure if I complain about the insurance company (which I will), they will blame you. I feel like I am scammed by both of you and HealthPlex (dental insurance company).
Onur, we do not control the insurance rosters since we do not work for them but with them. Information on the insurance plans are often outdated regardless of our attempts to change it. You can get information about the insurance plans we take from our own website or by confirming with us when you book the appointment. I am interested to know what insurance carrier you are referring to since we do accept most major insurances. Regardless, thank you for bringing an error on the insurance website to our attention. Our hope is that you notified them about their error as well since you got the information from them. Have a great day.

Negative experience: I tried 5 times to get my daughters braces and they always reject it don’t know why but I wanna know the reason why what insurance they need to not get rejected
Hello, unfortunately we do not have a say as to what gets approved by the insurance or not. We submit the information and the insurance has their own criteria and makes a decision on their own. If it were up to us we would approve everyone, trust us we would love to have more patients not less :) As far as what insurance carrier you should switch to it is illegal for us to give you this information. What we can tell you is that most Medicaid plans have similar criteria when it comes to approvals. You can always contact your own insurance carrier and ask them if you can appeal the decision. Hope this information helps!
Negative experience: The worst costumer service ever. Takes all day to finally get someone to answer the phone. Whoever answered was very rude and dismissive. I called to simply reschedule my kids appt because of work and before I could finish my sentence, the receptionist cuts me off and says there’s no availability until November. I said I will have to cancel until I get my November work schedule, all she said was “have a good day” and hung up. Called back to cancelled my twins appt because I will not be returning to that office again. I’ve been coming here since my 12 year old was 6 months old, and the front staff service just gets worst and worst. Staff needs to work on their communication skills. Very disappointing.

Our wait times vary and we have periods where they are a lot worse depending on the schedule, what doctors are working that day, patient cooperation, etc. This is something that we continuously work on.

Positive experience: The office is clean and the staff is pleasant but I gave a 3 because my daughter had to get her baby teeth extracted as they were to the side of her permanent teeth and no numbing gel was given before the needle which made it more stressful/painful for her.
Negative experience: After a simple cleaning, my daughter came back home very upset. They were very rough, she had lots of pain and all wet. Not sure if this is an experienced person but it wasn't a good experience for my daughter. I will be looking into this.

Negative experience: I brought my 13-year-old brother to Smile Central Dentistry and they didn't even take him in, He had so much pain and couldn't sleep at all. I really thought they would help him but the only thing they said, "We couldn't attend him because he didn't have an appointment and also, they didn't even have dentist available". It's crazy how they really just didn't even look at him at least. So unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: The staff were so awesome accommodating appointments I went for a routine visit for my son but then he needed other services I needed to schedule that however Eliana went to her manager and they were able to squeeze me in for cavities then the young ladies from ortho squeezed me in for brace consultation you all Rock! Negative experience: They take to long to see the patient in the orthodontics office you get there early doesn’t Mather you have to be ready to wait your 2 1/2 .if you call they don’t pickup the phone or they pickup and hang up it’s terrible how the work in the line .
